Patches and pre-task to upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

I have a few questions regarding to pre-required patches and pre-tasks in order to upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3.
Currently, the system is on 12.1.1 and pre-required patch, 9039089 which is for R12.AD.B.delta.3 code level.
But, when I checked the document, Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 Readme [ID 1080973.1]...

However, the document 761570.1 is about the necessary steps of upgrade from 11i to 12.1.3.
Is this necessary/applicable still for my case as well?

Please follow note 1080973.1 and perform all patching on the forms, web and database tiers. There are a number of patches to apply to meet the requirements to upgrade.
Please follow R12.1 Oracle Financials Critical Patches note 954704.1 for post install critical patches on top of 12.1.3.
You will also need to follow support note HRMS (HR Global) Legislative Data Patch 145837.1 if implemented.
If you use Patch Wizard then you will need to apply patch 10629956. Please review New Required Patches for Patch Wizard, Patch Manager, and Oracle Application Change Management Pack note 1267768.1.
For best results and all steps recommended by support, please download the Maintenance Wizard tool. This tool will automate most of the upgrade steps and guide you step by step, only applying patches that are required for your installation.

This is my "About This Mac" ... it shows I have Intel i7 CPU. If you are running SL, you at least have Intel, but would need at least Core2Duo an 2 GB (most people suggest 4 GB) RAM.

Certain features that vanished or were added caused great heartache for some. Others love Lion, though. And some live with the changes waiting for any fixes they would desire.

Recall that you can clone your SL to an external disk to keep it safe. Then you can "experiment with" the new OSX (Lion or ML) until you know it works for you while still having your old SL safe in case you need it.

Most users haven't had problems with iOS 6, however, some have. I'm still using iOS 5.1.1 on my iPad 2. There is a beta version iOS 6.1 being tested. Don't know when it will be released. When it is released, I'll update.

I have a big problem with Lion and PGP. After upgrading from snow leopard to lion I cannot access my PGP drive which was generated under snow leopard. PGP does not start but gives a notion that lion cannot work with my PGP version. Solution?

When I try to start I just receive a message that Lion cannot work with PGP. How can I now access important and confifential informatio which I have stored in PGP (snow leopard). Do I have to move back to snow leopard. If so, how can I do this?

Photoshop CS6 issue with shortcuts and my keyboard after upgrade from CS5

I recently upgraded from CS5 Extended to CS6 Extended on my Mac (Mavericks), but installed it in English instead of German this time. I transferred most of my presets just fine, but none of the keyboard shortcuts were working. All I got was an unequal sign for all shortcuts and even manually changing them didn't get them to work. I found a few discussions about this issue and ended up adding a German keyboard, as I am always on the Romaji setting of my Kotoeri (Japanese) keyboard. That seemed to solve the issue, but only if I change to the German keyboard before opening Photoshop. Shortcuts don't work in CS5 anymore either unless I do. Sometimes the shortcuts also stop working a while after I change back to the Kotoeri keyboard.
Now I would like to know if there is any way to get around this issue. Isn't there a way to get my shortcuts working again without constantly having to change keyboards? I much prefer the Kotoeri one since the icon for the German keyboard in my menu bar looks extremely obnoxious, in my opinion. It's mostly a cosmetic thing to me, but I would love to get everything back to the way it was before.
I'd much appreciate any advice or help.

I am having a similar problem. Just upgraded to Apple Yosemite and all none of my keyboard shortcuts are working in a clean install of Photoshop CS6. Every menu item has some form of the ≠ sign. I've trashed the .plist file, rebuilt permissions, etc. Even basic keyboard commands, like Command-N for NEW or Command-Q for QUIT do not work. In fact, many don't show up in the menu at all. I don't have this issue in InDesign CS6 or Illustrator CS6. Every once in awhile, maybe 1 time out of 20, menus and keyboard shortcuts work properly, but I can't find any pattern.

Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive. This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy way/procedure to return your Mac to its former working state.

   I would like to know what are the necessary steps should be taken prior/during/post upgrade from SSRS end as we can not rollback if there is some issue with in place upgrade.

In case of reporting services..
Back up your symmetric key. For more information.
Back up your report server databases and configuration files. For more information.
Back up any customizations to existing Reporting Services virtual directories in IIS.

Retain tasks when upgrading from CS5 to CS6?

I have Photoshop CS5 and would like to upgrade to CS6. I have a lot of tasks stored and would like to be able to either have them retained during the upgrade or save the files somewhere and then load them into CS6. Can you tell me how to do that? Thanks.

Check the flyout menu in teh actions palette. if you knew how to create them, you sure should know how to load and save them.... Anyway, this may be futile. Many actions don#t work in CS6 as reported by a variety of users. For more details ask in the PS forum...

There are two methods you could use to perform the upgrade but first, back up your computer. As X42.. suggests, a bootable clone is a very good idea - use SuperDuper! or CarbonCopyCloner to make an exact duplicate of your computer's hard drive. This can be used as a backup and can also be used to boot into Snow Leopard should you need to do so.
To upgrade to Lion (1) download Lion and let it upgrade your computer. Your data and old programs will remain on the computer untouched. During the upgrade process Lion may find some plug-ins or programs that are definitely incompatible and put them into a folder labeled Incompatible Programs. (2) restart your computer from the clone backup you made and download Lion. Now use the installer to erase the computer's hard drive and install Lion on the computer's drive. Then use Setup Manager to migrate your data and programs.
In either case, as X42.. said, you may have some incompatible software which needs to be upgraded and some may no longer be supported. That's one of the advantages of having the Snow Leopard bootable external drive. I found that the simple upgrade (1) worked for nearly every computer I upgraded. I had one computer that required the erase and install (2) method.

Upgraded an EAR file from 8.1.5 to 10.3.
This included a process that creates a worklist task that shows up in the WLI 10.3 Worklist Console and has a Task Plan ID of /Worklist/Compatibility 8.1.x:9.0.
Had an interface that extended TaskWorkerControl and am able to get TaskInfo that gives the StateType. In WLI 10.3 this provides the value for Working State.
Need the value of the Current Step.
Created a TaskBatchControl but am not able to get any TaskData and so can not get value of the Current Step.
Is it possible to get TaskData from a worklist task that has a Task Plan ID of /Worklist/Compatibility 8.1.x:9.0?

This was due to the permissions on the EJB.

Delete and Re-install after upgrade from single app to full cloud suite?

Hi, I recenly upgraded to the full creative cloud membership from a single app subscription of Illustrator last month.
I opened an illustrator file today from the single app installation and recieved a warning that I no longer have access to the program. Do I need to delete this version of illusrtrator and re-install from my new creative cloud suite membership? Or is there a way to register the current downloaded version of Illustrator with my new full suite subscription?

You don't need to uninstall illustrator from your computer.
You can simply launch the program ---> it will give you a pop up that your subscription is expired or the trial is expired ---> in the same window there will be a button 'License this software' ---> click on 'License this software'
---> Sign in with your Adobe Id on whihc you have the full creative cloud subscription ---> your subscription will be activated.
You can install rest of the products.

New to avchd and hd formats since upgrading from Pre3 to Pre10 ???

i have used Pre3 on XP with Mini-DV media for a long time now and am quite familiar with editing and exporting the edited videos to YouTube or to DVD. But now i have win7 64 bit, Pre 10 and a Sony XR160 HD camcorder and am now starting to shoot my videos on HD ( so far using the FX format of 1920x1080 / 16:9, 24 Mbps). editing on Pre10 is a little different and it is taking some to get used to but i did a small project fine but now i am confused about how best to output these HD videos. Should i save them as avchd and burn it to DVD or Blu-ray? or save them as some form of HD? can I burn avchd or HD onto DVD or Dual layer DVD??? or should i be getting a Blu-ray burner??? can you help bring me up to speed with all this new technology?

As far as I know, you may not DIRECTLY go from HD to a DVD without down-rezzing the project (DVD resolution is FAR below HD)
There is a way to put a LIMITED amount of HD on a DVD... you do, of course, need a BluRay player to play back HD

Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0.9 Patch on Solaris 8 as upgrade from Sun One

We have an application that we are moving from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10, but the process for doing this is slow due to the complex nature of the architecture (Perl, J2EE on JRun, WLS, etc). This means that the application will have some instances on Solaris 8 and some on Solaris 10 for the next few months. We wish to try to bring the non-OS infrastructure up to the same versions of code to assist in this.
Now, I noticed in the release notes that Solaris 8 is no longer supported in 7.0.9 but was in 7.0.8. Is there anything inherent in this or was it just that no testing was done? I know that the official position of the "web tier" is that Solaris 8 is now "deprecated". I ask because it tells me if I can live with the risk of going to 7.0.9 on all environments - as the application code is more aware of this than its core OS - or whether I need to leave 7.0.8 on Solaris 8 and do 7.0.9 on Solaris 10. I'm not asking for support, but a question on whether there is a known issue or not.

My main worry was not the code itself but the changes in installation, packaging, branding changes, default directories (e.g. /opt/oracle rather than /opt/sun), etc...... . If I am going to kill off Solaris 8 in a few months it isn't a big problem.
