  • Can't install patches 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 for robohelp 8

I installed Robohelp 8 on an XP workstation and now trying to install (update) patches 8.0.1 and 8.0.2. No errors, they just don't install. Has somebody else encountered this issue?

I asked as I have seen discrepancies but that looks OK.
Has the machine been rebooted since installing RoboHelp?
Is this a first time install of RoboHelp? If not I wonder if there is something old in the registry causing a problem. You could try uninstalling with RevoUninstaller and then reinstalling. Use the Advanced setting in RevoUninstaller but only if you are happy using such programs, otherwise involve IT.
I don't know what else to suggest apart from contacting Tech Support as an installation issue.

  • Patching on PRD system and thereafter moving the logs to DR ?

Patching on PRD system and thereafter moving the logs to DR, will the patches take effect in DR ?
We have patched our PRD system to the latest APPL patch levels, we have a DR system in place, the link for which was disabled before we started our patching process. The DR system was successfully patched before taking up the activity on PRD.
The link between the PRD and DR is still not restored.
Now, that our PRD system is on the latest patch levels, my idea is restoring a full offline database backup of PRD on the DR system should make the DR system exactly identical to the PRD and the link between the two restored to allow for dynamic syncing thereafter.
Is my above view correct ?
Moreover, from my understanding, Patches are a bunch of SAP notes, SAP notes in-turn are basically code corrections for some objects, which ultimately means some entries are either written or deleted from database tables. My colleagues are of the view that instead of patching the DR server separately we could have actually restored the link and transferred the logs to the DR and the patches should have taken effect in the DR SERVER, is this alright ?
From my past experience I am aware that once you restore an offline database backup onto any system, the patch level in the target system would become similar to the source system(the system whose offline backup is actually being restored).
Thereby request the experts on the forum to give their views on the above.
    Many Thanks in advance

when we take up any patching activity, can we just do it on the PRD and then move on the logs to the DR and the DR should also be on the same patch levels as PRD. ?
Yes, its a normal patching process for Primary-->Secondary setups.
You have to apply the application patches only on Production, then sync process takes care on DR (No need to apply the pathces here, infact you don't need to touch your exisiting DR system).
As a best practice - Just perform a Quality refresh before performing patching activity, then you can perform your test Patching/Upgrade activity in your Quality system itself (Not on DR).

  • Is there a dependency between source system patch level (IS-U) and BW 7.3

    Hello everybody,
we think about upgrading our BW. Now there is the question if there is any dependency between source system patch level (IS-U) and BW 7.3.
Perhaps someone knows a note. I don't find anything.
    Thanks

    Hello Ingo,
we have also a Problem with the SSO between BOE Server and our BW Portal. Our Systems are in different Domains and we make all settings in BW as described in the SAP Documentation "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a0/88a340fa432b54e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm"
but now we didn´t know what we have to to on BOE side to install the SAPSSOEXT and to get the corret UME Proberties that we have to put into BW.
Can you help us please on that issue? We can´t find any BOE Documentation for that and we working on that issue now for more then 5 weeks.
    Thank you/Kind Regards

  • Adding a Patch to a Pocket and keeping the Folds and Wrinkles - CS3

I have a photo of a gentleman wearing a typicl denim shirt and I would like to add a patch, or an emblem, to the shirt pocket.  I would like the patch to follow the contours of the shirt, including the folds and wrinkles.  How can that be done in CS3?  Thanks
    Using CS3, Windows Xp

Thanks for the reply.  I wasn't looking for an automated way to get the job done.  I tried using the transform tools last week, and the results were OK for the specific image I was working on, but something else (displacement filter?) might be better still.  Have to play around with that.
    Kind Regards,

I don't think of an easy automated way to do it.  I'd probably paste it on there, maybe distort / transform it a bit as needed (e.g., if the wrinkles are deep), then use the Burn and Dodge tools to add subtle shading to make it look believable.

Mac and Mac models are picky about the RAM the Mac needs to see and use.
As you have found out, the 1067 speed RAM will not work in your year and model iMac.
You need the 1333 speed RAM.
If, you can return the RAM for a refund, do it!
If not, try online Mac RAM source and seller Crucial memory. They have a table that matches your Mac to the correct and reliable RAM. You may need to contact them to see whether or not they ship to South Africa, though.
If Crucial dpesn't work out, here's the specs for your year and model iMac that you need to seek out and purchase.
    Maximum Memory
32 GB (Actual) 16 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    Good Luck!

  • [SOLVED]How to patch the kernel? And other questions

Like the same user who started this thread I'm suffering from hibernation resuming troubles using kernel 2.6.38. In that thread was posted a soluttion that involves patching the kernel.
The patch to apply is this:
    http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … e3e9fc8684
Waiting for the bug to be corrected and a new version supplied is not an option, because this laptop is my main computer and I heavly rely on hibernation.
Here's my trouble now. I don't know if it is possible to patch without recompiling the whole kernel, or it has to be compiled with that patch applied. I have seen the archlinux's wiki guide about compiling the kernel, but found nothing about applying patches (maybe I didn't searched with enought depth).
In case there is needed a full compilation, should I use the vanilla kernel, the Arch Linux one or any of the AUR ones (I said AUR because they're the first that came to my mind)? Should i expect a performance gain with this (apart from fixing the hibernation bug)?
Maybe i'm just doing a bunch of dumb questions, and the only thing I need is to search deeply on the wiki. In that case, please tell me. If not, I rather get some answers around kernel patching and / or compiling questions.
Edit: In addittion, it is possible that all this questions are just newbie ones, I don't know, but as I am willing to learn from this I will appreciate any info or documentation about it.
    Thank you.

From the source tree (/usr/src/linux-whatever) execute
    patch -p1 < /path/to/fix.patch
then recompile kernel from the source tree.
Basically that consists of executing the following commands from the source tree:
    make menuconfig
    make
    make modules_install
    cp -v System.map /boot/System.map-CUSTOM
    cp -v arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-CUSTOM
    mkinitcpio -k 2.6.38-CUSTOM -g /boot/kernel-CUSTOM.img
and you need to add menu entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst
-k 2.6.38-CUSTOM should corespond to /lib/modules/2.6.38-CUSTOM (replace 2.6.38-CUSTOM with the name of your module directory, name depends on the kernel version and suffix that you gave in menuconfig). Regarding kernel configuration in menuconfig - I can't help you, you could use arch stock kernel config (zcat /proc/config.gz > /usr/src/linux-whatever/.config)
I do these kind of things this way - maybe someone else have a more elegant solution.

  • How do you patch JDS 5.2 and keep it working?

Does anyone have experience patching Java Directory server 5.2, the package installation? I tried patching from base JDS 5.2 to JDS 5.2 P4 by applying these patches....
    118615-01
    115610-23
    115614-26
Now the directory server won't start..
    $ directoryserver start
ld.so.1: ns-slapd: fatal: libsoftokn3.so: open failed: No such file or directory
    Killed
Server not running!! Failed to start ns-slapd process.
Does anyone have any idea what to do to correct this issue? I have the library, and I've tried various ways of placing it in my library path (LD_LIBRARY_PATH, copying, linking) to no effect.
    --Mediis

You also need to install the patches for the Shared Components used by
Directory Server 5.2 (and the patch number depend on your version of Solaris).
Since you're mentioning 115610-23 and 115614-26, I assume Solaris Sparc.
You need to install the following patches:
ICU library: 116103-08 (or higher) for Solaris 8, or 114677-08 (or higher) for Solaris 9.
NSS/NSPR/JSS: 119209-04 (or higher) for Solaris 8, or 119211-04 (or higher) for Solaris 9, or 119213-04 (or higher) for Solaris 10.
SASL: 115328-02 (or higher) for Solaris 8, 115342-02 (or higher) for Solaris 9 or 10.
    LDAP C-SDK: 116837-02.
    LDAP JDK: 119725-02.
And also the 2 most important ones are: 115610-23 and 115614-26.
Please, do not try to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH, directory server should work without.
    Regards,
    Ludovic.

  • Patching Grid Control OMS and Agent to 10.2.0.5 issue

    Oracle 11gR1 RHEL5 - Grid Control 10.2.0.5
    Hi All,
I have been stuck on this issue for over a month (was relying on Oracle supports help and they just would not reply) and I can't figure it out. Basically, what happened is that my 10.2.0.5 patch set failed partiallty when I was applying it to the OMS. Here is what is going on right now:
    Database Repository (EMREP) - 11gR1 (11.1.0.6) - /opt/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1
    OMS - 10.2.0.5 - /opt/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/grid_1/oms10g
    Agent - 10.2.0.5 - /opt/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/grid_1/agent10g
When I was almost done with the 10.2.0.5 patch on the OMS, OUI gave me the following error:
SEVERE: OUI-25031:Some of the configuration assistants failed. It is strongly recommended that you retry the configuration
assistants at this time. Not successfully running any "Recommended" assistants
means your system will not be correctly configured.

    failures.
*2. Fix the errors causing these failures.*
*3. Select the failed assistants and click the 'Retry' button to retry them*
When I checked the logs I found the following messages (Here is a part of it...I think before it started to fail):

Do you think I should restore the backup (and I only have the database backup, not the Oracle Home backup)?

  • CPU patch procedure with physical and logical standby database in place

    Hello All,
I've also placed this in the Upgrades forum, but perhaps this is the best place to have put it.
I'm trying to compile a decent set of steps for applying the CPUOCT2008 patch to our production RAC cluster which has both a logical and physical standby in place. I've read a tonne of documentation, including the CPU readme, DOCID 437276.1 and 278641.1. I''ve also read through the Upgrading Databases in a Data Guard Configuration chapter of Dataguard Concepts and Administration. The last doc mentioned is really for upgrading a full version of Oracle rather than applying a CPU (at least I think that's the case). DocID 437276.1 is rather sparse on details.
I guess what I'm trying to understand is the proper method for applying the patch with the logical standby in place. The physical standby looks pretty straightforward. After running opatch on it as well, it will basically have all of the changes applied to the primary shipped over and applied as per the normal primary/standby relationship. Will the same be true for the logical (having applied the patch, and then re-enabling SQL apply)? Should I aim to have it work that way? By that I mean start it up and re-enable sql apply and then upgrade the primary. Or, am I to apply the catcpu.sql script to it as well before re-enabling the sql apply? Am I wrong in regards to the physical standby as well i.e. should the catcpu also be applied directly to it?
    Thanks very much in advance.
    Cheers,
    Chris

Given the fact that your system is far from main-stream I'd recommend opening an SR with Oracle Support Services (metalink) and asking them.
If you would like to publish a White Paper on your experience after you have successfully completed the project let me know off-line.

  • Installed the Java patch for MAC yesterday and immediately could not get adobe reader to show pdf files...have troubleshot and can't seem to remedy ...ideas?

I have used the Firefox troubleshooting guides, no good. The Java patch is enabled and shows when I check applications. However when I run Firefox plugins it still shows the java plug in is outdated and need to be updated immediately.

OK, I went to the Firefox knowledge base article you cited and followed the directions with the exception that in the drop down menu I choose Adobe Reader for PDF files rather than the plug in default that apparently was set by the Java patch. Problem solved !!!!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to get me back to the basic place I needed to be to correct this issue. YOU ROCK!!!!

  • SECURITY PATCH ON STANDBY DATABASE AND PRIMARY DATABASE

I have a question on applying CPU on standby and primary database
I have a standby database on machine2 and primary on machine1
I applied a CPU patch on the Oracle Home of Standby database and
did not run the catcpu.sql as standbydatabase is in mount state.
Now i am going to apply the CPU patch on primary database.
What i need to confirm is that after i apply the patch on primary database oracle home
and run the cat cpu.sql on that do i have to do anything on the standby database
for instance rebuilding it or something or the change would be shipped to the standby
    server automatically.
The purpose is to have the primary and standby database on the same patch level
    in case of a failover
    Please let me know asap

Any one has any idea on this. Any ideas would be appreciated
