Patches to enable XML Publisher on NetApp - can you confirm?

Customer has version 11.5.9 of NetApp. He understood that a patch or several patches would be required to enable XML Publisher.
Can you confirm and if so, what are the patches (any metalink notes)?

We do not provide a VBA or .NET wrapper for the java APIs we provide. However, its not a huge task to call java from VBA. Just google, 'calling java from VBA'.
you can then have the java API libraries sitting on the local machine and just call the one you need.

Enabling XML Publisher

Hi all,
If i log on to the oracle applications manager, i could see that XML Publilsher (XDO) is installed,
If i refer to the fnd_product_installations for the XML Publisher (application id = 603) it shows status is N,
How will i change the status to I, will it have any impact on other tables,

And I have 11i but don't have any publisher version ( I guess). So will it work for me?

XML Publisher template. Can't associate to a report

Hi,
I made a report with xml output. With it's output I define an rtf template and associate it to an XML Publisher template.
When I execute this report, I try to choose the template to format the output to excel (in Options button), but lov is empty.
This is not my first XML Publisher template an I never had this problem, but now I don't know what to do. Any idea?
These are the steps I follow:
1- Create a report and setup it on EBS with XML output
2- Launch the report in EBS and obtain and XML file
3- Create an RTF template with MS Word, XML Publisher plug-in and XML file
4- In EBS, XML Publisher Administrator, create a data definition and a template.
5- In System Administration/Requests I try to associate the template to the report in On Site Tab. The template's lov is empty

Can you confirm a security hole in file sharing?

I have found a very annoying security hole, and I wonder if it is unique to my setup. I have my mini set up with file sharing turned on. It has 5 accounts, one administrator, rest ordinary users. My login for the administrative user on my laptop is the same as on the mini. I have not turned on "Back to my Mac."
From my laptop I navigate to the mini using either (a) the network panel in finder, (b) the local IP (afp://192.168.0.xxx), or the global IP (afp://64.xxx.xxx.xxx). (My router is set up to forward the appropriate ports to the mini's local IP). I mount the administrative user's home directory under apple file sharing. Now I have full access to these files. I DO NOT SAVE THE PASSWORD IN KEYCHAIN. All this is as it should be.
Now I eject the administrator disk.
From now on (until I reboot my laptop), I can mount that same disk without a password!
Can someone confirm?

I believe the title of the subject is clear but can somebody confirm that the size limit of RAM in each slot is 256Mbyte (machine is produced in july 1999).
Does also anybody know if PC-133 256Mbyte DIMM are OK?

You must use PC100 or PC133 memories, and they may be no larger than 256 MB each DIMM. 256 MB DIMMs must have 8 data chips on each side. If you use PC133 memories, they must be able to also run at PC100 speeds. The special ROM chips on each DIMM must be programmed correctly.
There are many different memory parameters that are important. You need to:
A) become an expert on all of these different parameters. -OR-
B) purchase memory from someone who IS an expert on memory for this Macintosh.
• Do not buy memory from a department store or an electronics store. Buy only from someone who sells memory for Macintosh. This rewards vendors who have cultivated Mac expertise.
• You should tell the seller what Macintosh you have, and the seller should send you the correct memory for your Macintosh, AND guarantee that it will work in your Macintosh or he will refund your money. (This encourages the seller to send you the right memory the first time.)
• The seller should guarantee that the memory will continue to work for a very long time, or he will exchange it for a new DIMM. (This encourages the seller to send you only high-quality memory.)

Hi Glipmom, Firefox will update the themes and extensions you have installed, but as far as I know, it never installs new ones for you. Those would need to be installed at your request.
If the problem is a new feature inside Firefox -- such as a toolbar -- you should review your add-ons on the following tab and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized plugins and extensions. By nonessential I mean you do not intentionally use it for daily browsing. Basically, you need Shockwave Flash, but you can browse without most other stuff.

Then restart Firefox and test again. Can you get rid of it?

Until the latest update of iTunes, management from Mac to iPad was through iTunes.

So now tell me how i can see the same draft book (ie not yet published, I am writiing one) that has successfully loaded into iBooks on the Mac over to iBooks on the iPad?
Reason: snce most people read books on tablets, not PC/Macs, and as writer/publisher I need to see it on the iPad too before publishing it. Or is, as seems to be the case here also, Apple is reducing product functionality - or has it "dropped the ball" again?

Can you confirm this Faces bug in iPhoto '11?

I have created an Smart Album "unnamed faces" which should show all photos with "unnamed" faces. It shows about 2,500 of my about 24,000 photos. Some of these have been added recently, some are in the library since the old iPhoto '08 days. I see that some of them often "forget" that I have already rotated them. Even the face frames stay unrotated and are sometimes converted from squares to rectangles. But all this doesn't really matter.
This is what I see as a bug: When I edit such a photo in the Smart Album, it e.g. shows one named face and "1 unnamed". I then rotate the image to have it in the desired portrait or landscape view, remove the wrong, rectangled and named face frame and name the unnamed, correctly placed square face frame with the desired person's name.
Whatever I do next, photos treated this way still tell me they would have 1 named and 1 unnamed face frame. I only see the named, square frame, because I have deleted the old, wrong and rectangled frame before.
Even more strange: When I set the Smart Album parameters like this:
it shows these "damaged" images, which optically only have one named face frame left. The (translated) settings are: "All" conditions: "Face is unnamed" && "Face is not unnamed".
This is really weird and I have no idea how to fix it except deleting and re-importing the images.
PS: Yes, I have already even tried all options of iPhoto Library Manager without success for this issue.

Back to your original Library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Missing Parts check one level....can you confirm

Simple scenario. I have a 3 level BOM.
Top level Item Mat A (make to order 82) > Mat X (make to stock strategy 40) > Component 1 (purchased).
Stock: There is only stock for the Component 1
When I create an order for Mat A I get a missing part for Mat X. However, the committed date is giving me the Total replenishment lead time of my Mat X and not considering just the lead time to make Mat X even though we have Component 1 in stock. So my problem is that the ATP check is not considering that we have Component 1 in stock and should just give me a committed date for the in production time of Mat X.
Now I do understand that SAP PP may only look at the Zero stock for my Mat X when I create an Order for Mat A (Top level) - if this is why then fine but I wanted to check I am not missing something.
Moreover, if you make Mat X a collective (52) then it will see the stock for the component and give a reduced commitment date but my client does not want a collective order as they want to group the Make to stock items.
Yes if there was a planned order for Mat X then it would consider it.
My point is that am I right that pure ATP missing part will only consider one level in my example ?

The client gets as much as he is willing to pay for. If he wants a multilevel availability check, then he must pay for the additional software that will perform this task (APO or third party), or he should commission a consulting company to write a custom application that performs this task within ERP.
All such decisions boil down to the client's willingness to spend money and resources. Its nothing to get frustrated about. After all, he is the one that made the decision to buy SAP ERP, not you. If he is unhappy, he can contact Walldorf.
