Patches won't install after reboot

I just installed Solaris 10 x86 6/06. I ran Update Manager and had ~25 updates. The 11 that require a system restart remain on my available updates list even after installing them and executing "init 6." What's going on? Is there some other restart command for these?
The patches are:
120665-01
118813-03
121208-03
120662-05
119375-13
120781-02
121126-01
120252-05
119558-04
120999-01
120081-02

The output is in swedish Im afraid (cant just paste) but it says something like "Following patch will not been installed ...... all packages from patch NUMBER has been corrected by a patch with a later version. There is no patches (or "corrections" perhaps...) to be installed".
I paste parts of the output from 'smpatch update' in genuine english:

  • Patches don't install after reboot

I just rant the update manager and downloaded a bunch of patches, but the ones that reqired a reboot did not install. Note, I did not reboot when it prompted me to because I was in the middle of something. I closed Update Manager and all my open programs, then rebooted. It just rebooted as normal, and when I ran Update Manager again, it still showed that there were patches that needed to be installed upon reboot that were already downloaded. Is there any way to force these to install?

okay. let's try the following technique.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.

  • Flash won't install after downloading...early 2013 MBP/Retina, 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Ram, 3GHz Intel Core i7 Processor (clean installation)

Flash Player won’t install after downloading
On the first attempt to install v14, Flash Player v13 was installed and working fine.
I opened the installation package for the new Flash Player, followed standard protocol for installing Mac software and it hung before retrieving anything.
Subsequently, while watching the beach ball spin, I got an error message that the installer could not retrieve the v13 Flash Player software.
So I uninstalled Flash Player 13 and again attempted to install v14, only to see the spinning beach ball followed by a message that the installer could not retrieve the v14 Flash Player software.
    I am running OS X v10.9.4 on an early 2013 MBP/Retina display with 3GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Ram.
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding my issue, please let me know.
    Sincerely.

  • ITunes won't install after I click license agreement page

iTunes won't install after I click license agreement page

I had the same problem as many are having, I am running Win XP Pro and after installing the latest greatest version fresh no go, tried all the fixes mentiond around the net and no go all you get is the dam agree screen ... so I had enogh, I completly uninstalled the new version and then installed version 10 and it works fine so I think they droped the ball in the programing of the latest release thats my 2 cents. I am so glad i always keep older versions on hand because many times new versions are buggy or just do not work NOTE TO APPLE DO NOT FIX IT IF IT AINT BROKE comes to mind ... the older just work and the new junk fails don't they test the programs anymore? accross the dif supported platforms? whlth all these peole having the same problems I would say they botched the program code or installer.
It says after the install there is a newer version great after waisting all this time I will not be updating till they claime and prove they have a big prob and fix it and then test it compleatly.
Important my problem started on first installing Itunes ona newely set up XP comp so I had no settings or anything and did not care a full uninstall worked for me. Not sure with those that have tons of stuff allready in the iTunes system,
Complete working version 10.0.0.68 works fine in win XP Pro ...

  • Photoshop won't launch after reboot

    Hi Adobians!
For some time I'm having an issue with PS CC: Every second time I reboot my system, PSCC does not open up, though the process is in the task manager. Everytime I try to relaunch PS, another process appears. Closing any number of then will not result in a successful launch. Funny thing is it works after reboot of the machine, but the next time I reboot, it won't work. So I basically started to reboot my machine twice... but there must be another solution.
My System is an ASUS ROG G750 Notebook with Win7 64bit installed.
I have not reinstalled Photoshop yet, since I would prefer to find a solution for this problem rather than find a way to work around it.

  • EM Personal Edition Won't start After Reboot

...I installed Oracle 10g on a WinServer 2003 machine. EM worked fine after installation of Personal Edition; after reboot, EM service won't start. Everything else works; I can even query the HR tablespace from Access and SQL Server. I've set the correct user roles on the SYS, SYSMAN, SYSDBA, etc. accounts.
I also noticed that after the reboot, the folder that was previously called:
    OC4J_DBConsole__ORABETA35
    Is now called:
    OC4J_DBConsole_192.168.2.18_ORABETA35
...but when I try to start the service from the services snapin it looks for the previous folder. So I copied the new folder into another folder and renamed that to the previous name to see if that would work; it didn't.
    thanx,
    John Bonifas

There's a systemd service so maybe try systemctl enable [email protected]
There's also a checkbox in the dropbox preferences for starting on system boot.

  • Zen W Software CD Won't Install after add & remove?

August 09 2009 Hello Creative Guys: I have a Zen W unit and I think firmware version .0., I'm running Windows XP SP3 but last week my Zen W stop communicating with my Window XP, what I tired first was using add/remove from control panel and doing a repair of software but that did not work, next I uninstalled all software that was installed from my CD Rom that can with my Zen W unit and reinstall from CD Rom again and that is when I ran into some problems listed below, can you please tell me how to fix those two errors. Installation is unable to continue one or more unresolved issues. Please contact support service and quote error I-00. Do install fails to launch D:\ctshared\ctplugin\vidconv\setup.inx.doinstall return error code is 2472332. These two errors come up about 6 times during install of CD Rom software from my Zen W unit, it does finish installing program but after reboot it does not show Zen icon on right side of tas bar. I'm using my Zen W unit only at home and I don?t have internet so no virus of any kind but I did run a virus scan on my computer but it can up all clean. Any Ideas on what is going onThank You for all your help

Have you met the requirements for a successful install:
You (who will be Hotsyncing) are the ONLY person logged onto the computer.
You have Windows Admin priveleges and are NOT logged on as Administrator.
ALL other applications are OFF, especially firewall and antivirus.
Do NOT plug the device into the hotsync cable until the install is completed and you are asked to sync.
Never, ever use Switch User; always Log On and Log Off.

  • Flash player won't install after Antivirus8

I had the Antivirus8 problem this week.  Malwarebytes seems to have uninstalled it.  I have also run Eset Online Scanner and Microsoft malicious remover tool.  They all now say I'm clean.  But my flash player no longer works.  I have turned off my AVG 9.0 (why didn't it catch the virus!!), and have downloaded the flash uninstaller and the installer.  Ran them both, rebooting inbetween.  flash player seems to install, but when I go to the adobe test site i get the red x instead of the video showing that the flash player is working.  Online sites that require flash player do not work either.
This all is new since the antivirus 8.  I never had a problem with flash before.  I am running Windows 7 Home, 64 bit, and internet explorer  I also have mozilla firefox.  I have tried using the  both IE 32 bit and IE 64 bit, as well as firefox, and all say that flash needs to be installed.
    Help please!

Thank you so much for your support,GLPCPA.
It is a good idea but some Japanese can not do system restore(have no point of system restore).
So I want another new infos on adobe F player will not install after Antivirus 8 infection.

  • Updates marked to be installed after reboot aren't installed

Just installed Solaris 10 on my hp laptop. Downloaded the available updates. After a reboot, there are still two listed to be installed 'after a reboot.' Rebooting again, I see the same thing. Suggestions?

    rpotala,
if you are trying to install OS X onto an erased disk or onto a newly formatted disk, and your Mac originally came from the factory with Lion or newer installed, then you will need Internet access to perform an OS X Internet Recovery.
If your Mac originally came from the factory with Snow Leopard or older installed, then you will need to install Mac OS X from the grey Mac OS X Install DVD that originally came in the box with your Mac.

  • Grub won't install after reformat from gentoo install (error 18)

Previously I had gentoo installed with grub in the / partition in sdb2 (hd1,1).  I got through the arch install after reformatting that jfs partition except grub wouldn't install because it said the "Selected Cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS".  I didn't change any partitioning so I don't understand how that would be possible.
I ran fdisk to fix the partition order, but it didn't have anything to fix.  Another oddity is that when I try to boot up, I get a grub command prompt with no errors, and that mapping is different (sdb is hd0).  I can't really change my partitions, because sdb1 is a 1.5+ tb partition and I don't have room to backup the data.

Well I found a workaround for my problem.  It's not ideal, but I installed grub to sdb1, which is a home partition instead of sdb2 (my /).

  • OS X Mavericks won't install after erasing Mac Hardrive for reboot

So I decided to reboot my computing and now the new OS X software won't install

If you do have an iMac, Late 2012, restart the iMac holding the Command+Option+R keys so you boot from the Apple internet servers, you must be on the internet to do that.  You can then choose Install Mac OS X and reinstall your operating system.  Then proceed to go to the Mac App Store and download and install Mavericks.

  • 20" imac won't restart after rebooting under bootcamp running Windows XP. I get a black DOS screen with an error message.

My imac has been running without problems under OS X Snow Leopard and bootcamp running Windows XP for a long time. I had received a Sony MP3 player and wanted to install the software on my computer. At the time I had a CD in my drive slot because I was getting ready to install some brother's software for a printer I wanted to use. I restarted my imac under bootcamp and started installing the Sony software in Windows XP. I was having problems with the install  and decided to restart XP to see if that would help. It's been several days since this originally happened so I'm not of sure of any more specifics at this point other than I've had to use windows machines for a long time and know that basically when in doubt "restart".
When my imac was restarting I heard everything spinning up, the white light came on, but I heard no chime, a blue screen came up for about 15 to 30 sec. and then it went to a black screen with DOS characters giving the following message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file.
I do have a copy of Windows XP, but my first problem was that I still had a CD in the slot and it would not eject. I tried every keyboard combination I could find including: eject button, F12 and holding down the mouse button at start-up and nothing worked. I also tried every other start-up keyboard combination I could find at Apple Support jut to see if I could get my imac to start up under OS X . I finally went on youtube to find out how to remove the CD. I ended up opening up my imac and taking off the cover of the CD drive to remove the disk. After putting everything back together I put in my Windows CD and tried restarting again. The exact same thing happened and I ended up at the DOS screen. Then I thought maybe my keyboard wasn't working so I replaced it with a new one. Same result. I also thought to plug both of my apple keyboards into my windows 8 laptop (hate it!) to see if they worked there at all. They both did so I'm sure the keyboards are not the problem.
At this point, since I do now have a windows 8 laptop (hate it!) there is no remaining reason for me to keep a bootcamp partition on my hard drive. My question is where do I go from here? I have a current time machine back-up on an external hard drive and I have my install CD for OS X Snow Leopard. How do I get my imac back up and running? Thanks.

Can you OPTION boot? If so, then choose the OS X volume to boot back into OS X. From there you can use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the Windows volume and restore the drive.
    Boot Using OPTION key:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "OPTION" key.
      3. Release the key when the boot manager appears.
      4. Select the desired disk icon from which you want to boot.
      5. Click on the arrow button below the icon.
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
      1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
      2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
      3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
      4. Press COMMAND-E.
      5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
            /usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.

  • E51 Driver won't install after XP reinstall

I have been using my E51 with PC Suite 6.86.9.3 on XPSP2 for several months and all was fine. I had need to reinstall XP using the "Upgrade" option - i.e. keeping all your applications and settings.
After the reinstall, the E51 will not load. It says:
"Nokia E51 USB Phone Parent - An error occurred during the installation of this device - Fatal error duing installation"
I have, of course, removed all the drivers by hand (wdfcoinstaller01005.dll nmwcdcocls.dll, ccdcmd.sys etc), cleaned the registry, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled PC Suite, located the correct inf file (oem31.inf in my case), tried automatic driver install, manual driver install etc etc and after several hours work trying various combinations of the above, still the same message whenever I update the driver for the phone.
Has anyone had this before? I don't want to do a clean install of XP and reinstall all my apps, but I might have to.

    Fixed - this message helps!
