Patchset 9.2.0.6 soon out?

Checking Metalink, I see 9.2.0.6 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER for Windows and Solaris.
Expecting it to be released for AIX and "linux" soon...

Oracle says that they are using Linux.
As we can see they really use windows and solaris!

Gnome 2.16 is released 6 september! when does it come to arch? cant wait to be able to use gnome-power-manager.. used it before but now only old pkgbuilds exists.. tried to install newer version but failed...

The point is that a whole dbus migration to 0.9x/1.0 needs to be done, the current version of dbus has too many issues to get gnome working correctly (a simple pacman -S kde-common crashes all running dbus session bus daemons, which means your gnome-settings-daemon and all applets on your panel will crash with it, no way to start it again until you logout and login again, waiting for the next dbus config change...)
Dbus 0.9x/1.0 is way too tricky to just update. They split up the bindings and removed support for QT, so we have to patch up kdebase with patches from fedora and for the rest we have to track the big bunch of hidden packages that have dependencies on dbus.
thanks for clearing this up! i wondered why installing gnome-common always killed my running dbus related programs which was a little annoying when installing stuff that needs gnome in terminal since that one was quit during the install process too

How can I set up an App Tabs for an active site like one of the BBC's radio stations? They turn out to be static and soon out of date.

I have been using an App Tab for static pages within Ancestry. No problem.
But I would like to make an App Tab for one of the radio stations for the BBC network in the UK. (I live in the UK.)
Every time I do so the tab sticks at the time I installed it. No good for listening to current programs 2-3 days later.
Has the introduction of active tabs just arrived with Firefox 5 (which I only installed five minutes ago)?

I agree anti-relay can be using UBE feature. However, there is serious problem in reject the spam mail. My nms is using UBE feature to stop spam mail. According to the work flow of the UBE, the mail is received by nms completely and UBE is going to invesgate the mail address. Although UBE can stop the spam mail, the spam mail have a trouble in returning the mail to the sender. The reason is the sender address is usually not existed in the world. That will cause a lot of mail waiting in the mail queue.
In my experience, do not use UBE for anti-relay.

Go to System Preferences>Universal Access and see if the Zoom feature is on. If so click it to off. It can also be turned on or off by hitting the Option+Command+8 keys.
To prevent this being accidentally activated in the future go to System Preferences>Keyboard>KeyboardShortcuts>Universal Access and uncheck all the boxes.

Problem Using more than one patchset for Kernels

I'm using vanilla 2.6.10 sources, with the -mh4 bluetooth patch, but I also want to apply the -as patch, as Arch has now adopted it for the standard kernel. So I have the following lines in the PKGBUILD:

patch -Np1 -i ../patch-2.6.10-mh4 || return 1
and I have the patches downloaded into the build directory. When I run makepkg, I get a HUNK FAILED error at the patching stage, and makepkg aborts. If I run it with the -mh4 patch only, it works OK.
I realise this is nothing to do with the PKGBUILD, which I am sure will produce a uniquely-named package in about 30 minutes or so. Would you have any general advice regarding the use of more than one patch?

yeah - i have done this with a few patchsets. it's easy if you know what you are doing.
i'll explain what is happening just in case you don't know - all patches are created based on the original code and work by matching existing code and replacing it with new code - if you apply one patch then another the first patch may alter some of the references that the second patch is try to match - so it fails. what you need to do is to check where it has failed.
it will say patching core.c or something and the it will say HUNK FAILED - that means the first patchset changed the core.c code and the second patch can't find what it is looking for.
you then need to open the first patch - find out where core.c was changed and how and then open the second patch to see what it now needs to look for and then you'll then have to make new diffs to finish the process or eidt the old diffs (which is tricky but shorter)
it ain't easy. if you have more than a few hunk failed don't even bother - there is no guarantee that they patches will provide a build-able kernel.
this whole process lies at the core of creating these massive patchsets - if you can combine both patchsets and get a successful build out of it you can consider yourself a novice kernel hacker. it can be done.

Report 3.0 to Report 6.0

Hi!
We have following set up
1. IIS 4.0
2. Report server (cgi) 3.0
All reports works fine with above set up.
Then we migrated 3.0 Reports to 6.0 reports
and report 6.0 server with same IIS 4.0.
Say out of 30, 26 reports worked fine by
changing +(space) with %20(HEX for space)in URL. But 4 of them are not working. These four reports has big strings as parameters.
Any other character or characters I have to
change at URL to make sure four reports works.

How to hide Header Page in Report Builder 6.0

I am trying to modify the existing report. My requirement is to add a cover page to the report. Based on condition the cover page should not be displayed.
Ex: If currency='USD' then
cover page along with the report body
else
if currency = NULL then
report body should be displayed.
I wrote a format trigger on cover page frame. but it is displaying blank page as first page. It should not display blank page.
Format trigger:

Hp Blades - flex10 technology questions

Hello, I have a few doubts regarding HP blades and Oracle VM. In particular:
- HP BL460c G6 model comes with an embedded "flex10" network adapter.
If connected to a standard switch interconnect module (NOT to a VC interconnect module!), this adapter should be seen by the system as (2) standard 1 Gbit network cards.
Adding another flex10 adapter in an expansion slot should result in seeing (4) standard 1 Gbit NICs, on a "server point of view".
The questions:
- I'd like to know if anybody has tried this config with Oracle VM (embedded flex10 adapter + additional flex10 adapter + standard interconnect switch module), and if it is true that this is seen as 4 standard NICs...
- Any troubles with NIC teaming/bonding with this config and Oracle VM?
- Finally, a slightly different question, but given that we're here :-) anybody knows if the newest G7 blades with Opteron 61xx processor(s) are supported/certified for Oracle VM?

i'm very familiar with the hp pdt, what i'm lacking of is the real equipment to test it out:
In theory, if you will put standard 1 Gbit Ethernet switches in the front end (e.g. GbE2C), the flex10 cards should be seen by the physical servers as if they were Broadcom 1Gbit NICs. Therefore, no special drivers should be needed. Everything should work right away.

-->No, the only way for you to have 8 FlexNIC with a G6 is thru flex10 virtual connect ONLY. yes, there is a special driver for it, but i can;t seem to find it for OVM. Btw, Virtual Connect are not switches, this is a common misconception.
Please note that I haven't effectively tried a real configuration... This is just what I've been getting to know after speaking to HP people.

Upgrading 10.2.0.3.to 10.2.0.4

Hi,
I'm patching my 10.2.0.3 production database to 10.2.0.4.
Using Oracle ReadMe notes, I see that I've to stop the following processess in the order specified:
- isqlplusctl stop
- emctl stop dbconsole
- lsnrctl stop
The only listener that runs on the server runs from the oracle home to be patched which means i have to shut it down.
My question is, if I shut down the listener how does that affect the other running production databases on the server? Presumably they won't be able to receive/return queries?

Trying to clientgen with generateAsyncMethods

Hi,
I have created a simple BEA web services with an asynchronous method and a callback.
Now I want to create the stub for my java client. The doc says to use the "generateAsyncMethods"
attribute in the clientgen task but client gen doesn't seem to know about that
attribute.
Also, is there any way to generate the necessary stub from Workshop, the only
ones I can generate do not have the necessary methods for asynchronous messaging.

If you are using the 8.1 server the clientgen should honour the
generateAsyncmethods attribute
Example:

Supported operating systems for Business One

Hello,
I was under the impression that Business One was a solution for smaller organizations and only was officially supported for the msft operating system.
Can someone clarify/confirm if this is correct?
There is a pdf on this SDN site that seems to indicate that Business One also is supported for 64bit Linux: SAP Business One Application General [original link is broken]

If you read the article carefully, it clearly mentioned It is not official SAP document. Secondly, it is only talking about B1 2004 version. That is very old version as now 2005 would be soon out of mainstream support.
You first assumption is correct. Only MS Windows is supported OS and B1 is designed for SME.

Has anyone ever done a Pluggable Data Source (PDS) based on BC4J. We already have the data stored in a resultset and would like to be able to have Oracle Reports re-use it. Any ideas?

A Pebble app that allows for voting up/down as well as advancing the track (no prev in radio mode)

Pebble is touting that with the release of their new "Pebble App Store", happening soon out now, Pandora will have an app that runs on the Pebble allowing you to vote a track up/down as well as advance to the next song. As I subscribe to Spotify and not Pandora, I would LOVE to see this same kind of app coming from Spotify. Currently, the Pebble can control your music, but only through the "now playing" system on a given smartphone. Personally, I have an iPhone 5 and while it works flawlessly to play/pause and advance tracks, having the voting up/down functionality in an actual Spotify app would be amazing.
EDIT: The app store is open, but Pandora have not released their app for some reason. Perhaps they are waiting for the official release of the Steel (I know the promo units had it pre-loaded for reviewers). I think it would be very interesting if Spotify were to beat them to it! There are several other apps from major companies, like Yelp and Foursquare, so this isn't just a niche market. Other companies are realizing the potential, and I'd be really excited if Spotify did, too!
The attached image is from a review on tomsguide.com showing Pandora's Pebble app as it will look while controlling the smartphone it is linked to. I think it's a very clean and simple interface that could easily be replicated by Spotify. The two services, while streaming radio, are very similar. For those of us using Pebble I think it may be tempting to switch without this feature, which is the main reason I have brought this to the ideas forum.

My idea:
Multiple UIs, accessible via a long press of the middle button. There you can choose the screen:
Playback screen:
- up and down will skip tracks while holding them will search in track.
- middle is play/pause
On Volume screen up and down will adjust volume instead of back/forward.
Rating screen:
- Up and down will rate the track while listening to Radio, if listening to playlist they will toggle shuffle/loop
- middle will (un)star the current track.
Playlist selector
- Browse through your playlists and tracks
- middle button to open playlist/play selected track, hold to get options: play next, play radio based on selection, hide (which will hide the selector and go back to last used screen); back navigation with back button.

My charge cable doesnt provide with enough electricity!

My charge cable for my Hp pavilion Dv6(got it this christmas.. it isnt even a year old) doesnt work anymore! I just plugged it in since it had fallen out, and there was a box showing up saying my cable doesnt provide with enough ''effect'' for my computer.. the screen is bright for like 5 seconds and then gets dark again! I also wanna say that i ALWAYS have my cable plugged in! and that i splled some cola on the keyboard but i wiped it away.. i really need help since the battery is soon out of power!

When you connect the iPad to a Microsoft Windows PC it will tell you that it's not charging. This happens to many users, because their USB port is not that powerful. Newer Apple/Mac Computers and Windows PCs can charge the iPad via USB, but it will be slower than charging with the 10 Watt power adapter.
The iPad shows in the upper right corner the battery symbol. When connected to the PC there will be a very short change to "loading state" (battery symbol changes) and then the iPad shows the message "not charging". This doesn't mean that it is not charging at all. On my computer it's like this: message "not charging" but it is charging, but actually very very slow.
As iPod and iPad cables are the same, there is no difference. But maybe you mean an iPod power adapter? This will probably be the same like described before. The power adapter isn't strong enough to charge the iPad. I've got a quite small and handy power adapter for my smartphone with USB port. Charging my (Android phone and) iPod works finde with it. But it's too weak for charging the iPad. When I connect it, nothing happens at the iPad...
But it works fine if you use the iPad charger for you iPod. You'll need only one power adapter for all devices :-)
