Path Environment Variable Error!

Hi,
I have tried to install Oracle9iAS,it gives an error like that:
Cmd.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77f64bab" referenced memory at "0x0067006f". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the application.
When i have looked to the file "install.pdf", which says me to get a fix from Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q268722.But there is no fix available there.Oracle knows 9iAS will give such an error,so there is a section about it; but won't say where we will find about fix. Please tell me how can we get that fix!
null

The patch is new and it's not in any of the current service packs or cds. You can call microsoft and they will download it to you, but a call to microsoft will cost you $250... unless you have a contract with them.
There is a work around though. In the beginning of the installation, shorten your path name. So, instead of C:\Ora_home\Oracle, try using C:\O9... this should keep you from running into that error.
Good Luck,
Randy

  • How to set the PATH Environment variable with multiple homes?

I have several Oracle homes, and now I cannot get reports to work anymore. These are the things I installed, in this order:
    - Oracle Database 10g

    - Oracle Discoverer 4

  • How can I set PATH environment variables when there is no ~/.profile?

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Air and just installed MySQL.
I read the doc which I downloaded and should be able to run "mysql" from terminal as descibed below:
Suppose that your MySQL programs are installed in /usr/local/mysql/bin and that you want to make it easy to invoke these programs. To do this, set the value of the PATH environment variable to include that directory. For example, if your shell is bash, add the following line to your .bashrc file:
               PATH=${PATH}:/usr/local/mysql/bin
I checked on my terminal with ls -al, but no ~/.bashrc also no ~/.profile files.  Echo $SHELL shows me that I am using /bin/bash as shell.
When I run export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/mysql/bin  then it works and I just have to type "mysql" to get the mysql command line but as soon as I kill my terminal and open a new terminal this setting is lost.
Any idea how I can accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    MacNewby

    Hi,
Never mind, I found it :-)
I just created a file  .bash_profile in my home folder and added "export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/mysql/bin" and restarted my terninal. Now it works.

  • PATH environment variable, Bash

I want to set a symlink to this path:
    /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/django-admin.py
I have tried myself & have failed the last two days. Does anyone have any suggestions on setting up a symlink to this path?
Also should I put it in my bashrc file or my .profile (file)? thanks.

Terminal, Unix, shell, etc... questions are best asked in the Mac OS X Technologies > Unix Forum
    <http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=735>
    ln -s /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/django-admin.py /path/to/where/you/want/the/symlink/to/reside
A symlink is a file in the file system, so once you create it, it is going to stay until you delete it. No need to put this in .bashrc or .profile
Unless you were actually asking about a shell command alias, which is not to be confused with a Finder Alias, as a Finder Alias is more like an symlink, only different, than it is like a shell command alias.
    A shell alias would be
    alias fred='/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/django-admin.py'
and that you would ideally put in your .bashrc, but .bashrc is not invoked during login, unless you source it from your .profile (assuming you do not also have a .bash_profile, which would get invoked instead of .profile, as bash has rules explained in "man bash" about what initialization files it reads, and which ones it preferes.
As for the PATH environment variable, that would be exported from .profile (again keeping in mind the rules about .profile vs .bash_login vs .bash_profile).
It is unclear whether you want a symlink to django-admin.py, a command alias, or just to put /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/bin/ in your PATH.
Please take any follow up discussions to the Unix forum.

  • Multiple oracle homes on Windows and the "Path" environment variable

    Hi There,
We have a windows 2003 database server that has few databases running oracle 10.2.0.3. We are installing oracle 11.2.0.1 on the box as well, and we were wondering, which binaries should come 1st in the path environment variable? and how does this effect the working oracle environment?
Going to the oracle home selector and swapping the 2 oracle homes around will have the same effect on the windows path variable - which will treat the 1st oracle home to be the default home - are there any general rules reg. multiple oracle homes on a server and the default home?
Should the earlier version of oracle always proceed the newer one (i.e. c:\oracle\product\10.2.0.3\bin;c:\oracle\product\11.2.0.1\bin) or should the newer oracle version comes 1st as newer oracle versions are usually backward compatible?
    Your thoughts are highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    That isn't going to happen.
If you install 11.2 last it will appear in the PATH variable first
If you don't want that you need to Oracle Home Selector utility in the Installer to change it.
Obviously, as usual, all of this is documented.

  • How to find the previous path environment variable in windows 2008

I am reconfiguring the Hyperion 11.1.2, and later, I installed the ODI. And them when I come back to reconfigure the Hyperion, it cannot be reconfigured, and say cannot find the path parameter. And I check the PATH environment variable, and find it is showing a dumy value, do we have a way to recover the previous PATH envirnment variable?

To get the source IP address, you will need to enable File Share auditing: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772690%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
Otherwise, you can simply disconnect the user session.

  • System PATH environment variable issue when user log off and log in or switch from admin to non-admin account

    Hi,
    Problem Description:
After installing my new product version, when user does log-off and log in again into admin account
or switch from admin account to non-admin account, PATH environment variable shows incorrect path of my product (previous product version’s path) using command prompt.
It seems windows refresh issue during session changes (log off and log in / switch from Admin to
    Non-admin account).
Why PATH environment variable is not refresh immediately after log off and log in again or Switch
    from admin to non-admin mode?.

Could you please any body help me for this?. your support will be appreciated.

Why PATH environment variable is not refresh immediately after log off and log in again or Switch
    from admin to non-admin mode?.
I wouldn't have any expectation of what you are doing to work the way you expect.  E.g. why is the %ABC% being replaced at all?  There is some help about this ambiguous scenario in the cmd help...
/V:ON Enable delayed environment variable expansion using ! as the
delimiter. For example, /V:ON would allow !var! to expand the
variable var at execution time. The var syntax expands variables
at input time, which is quite a different thing when inside of a FOR
    loop.
    /V:OFF Disable delayed environment expansion.
So, what's the setting for the /V:  switch that your users would be using?  Perhaps you should be using the ! instead of the % for your ABC variable?
Oh.  There's more below where I found that...
Delayed environment variable expansion is NOT enabled by default. You
can enable or disable delayed environment variable expansion for a
particular invocation of CMD.EXE with the /V:ON or /V:OFF switch. You
can enable or disable delayed expansion for all invocations of CMD.EXE on a
machine and/or user logon session by setting either or both of the
following REG_DWORD values in the registry using REGEDIT.EXE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\DelayedExpansion
    and/or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\DelayedExpansion
to either 0x1 or 0x0. The user specific setting takes precedence over
the machine setting. The command line switches take precedence over the
    registry settings.
In a batch file the SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION or DISABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION
arguments takes precedence over the /V:ON or /V:OFF switch. See SETLOCAL /?
    for details.
If delayed environment variable expansion is enabled, then the exclamation
character can be used to substitute the value of an environment variable
    at execution time.
So, I guess the essence of your "bug" will boil down to whether you
need the feature to get the result you want and the
truth of that first sentence but it certainly looks like a "can of worms" to me.   ; )

  • Default ZSH configuration is overriding PATH environment variable

After debugging why PATH is not getting set properly in zsh, I figured out that the default Arch configuration is overriding PATH.
The load order for zsh config files is:
    (Taken from http://shreevatsa.wordpress.com/2008/03 … shrc-etc/)
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    | |Interactive|Interactive|Script|
    | |login |non-login | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |/etc/zshenv | A | A | A |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |~/.zshenv | B | B | B |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |/etc/zprofile | C | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |~/.zprofile | D | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |/etc/zshrc | E | C | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |~/.zshrc | F | D | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |/etc/zlogin | G | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |~/.zlogin | H | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    | | | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    | | | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |~/.zlogout | I | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
    |/etc/zlogout | J | | |
    +----------------+-----------+-----------+------+
Note that on Arch, it's /etc/zsh instead of /etc.
By convention, environment variables are set in .zshenv.  However, /etc/zsh/zprofile, which is loaded after .zshenv, completely nukes PATH, so no matter what I set in .zshenv for PATH, it'll get wiped by /etc/zsh/zprofile.
Does any zsh user have a workaround for this problem?
EDIT: That's not the question I wanted to ask.  I guess I can always source .zshenv in .zprofile, but that's so ugly... Do any other zsh users feel that this should be fixed in Arch's distribution of zsh?

jasonwryan wrote:This has been opened and closed several times on the bugtracker: it's worth reading the various conversations there to get the context and what people do, including me, to work around or within this setup.
Somehow I missed that during my initial skim though the bugtracker, but I found it now.
    https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35966
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19924 (Gentoo had an interesting one too).
I understand now the problem is that (ba)sh doesn't have as fine-grained control over startup files as zsh.  There also seems to be personal disagreement about where PATH should be set.  Thus, setting path gets shoehorned into profile, and when that gets moved over to zprofile, things get ugly.

  • Path environment variable

I'm having a problem with Forms (6.0.8.11.3) and the FORMS60_PATH environment variable. I've changed it in the Registry, and on advice from another developer, created a Windows environment variable named FORMS60_PATH and given the value of the path to my development directory. Still when I issue a CALL_FORM('awards'), nothing happens. If I use the whole path like: CALL_FORM('d:\myforms\awards'); it works fine.
    HELP!!

A few things to check are:
In which Oracle_home did you define your forms60_path?It's in HOME2 which is the only place I found the FORMS60_PATH registry entry. If I do a TOOL_ENV.GETVAR('FORMS60_PATH', v_path), I get my development path as I defined in the registry. Any other suggestions?
Also make sure the value is not longer then the limit (255). no problem there

  • Where is my PATH environment variable set in Mavericks

I just did a fresh install of Mavericks 10.9.1 and I'm about to setup for a Laravel 4 workflow (install Homebrew & enable mcyrpt).
I have revealed all hidden files and I see no .bash_profile or .profile files in my User root folder. So how can I change my $PATH variable without a .bash_profile file? Can I just create .bash_profile and it will read it? also does .bash_profile have to be plain or rich text?
    Thanks.

Create the .bash_profile in your home directory as a plain text file.

This question is for the Terminal.app UNIX wizards out there. I'm wondering where the default $PATH variable setting is established by the operating system. I know I can modify this variable's setting in my .bash_profile or .profile files, but that isn't what I'm after. Where does the OS get the default settings for this variable?
    Many thanks.

  • Path Environment variables

    Hello,
I currently have a VI that relies heavily on DLL calls (call library
function). When specifying the location of the DLL, i give LabVIEW the
path to my INSTR.LIB directory, and everything works fine. My problem
occurs when I want to distribute the application to clients, and they do
not have LabVIEW installed in the same place as I do, that is, "C:\Program
    Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\Instr.Lib" is not their instr.lib
directory. Is there a built in envornment variable that i can use instead
of a hardcoded path in my DLL calls that points to the instr.lib
directory, or just the directory where labview.exe resides?? Thanks in
    advance.

I have not used the CLF much, but here are some thoughts.
Since this is a WinX platform, could you put the DLL in C:\Windows somewhere
    and
hard code to that ?? This directory structure should be stable.
You could try putting the DLL in the same dir as the VI and hardcoding to
    ..\mydll.dll
Dont know if this will work though.
There are a few built in path functions (look in the File I/O palette) one VI
    Library
will point to the directory where vi.llb is installed. This should be one
    level deeper
    than the labview.exe
After looking at this it seems unreasonable that you should have to hardcode
    the path
to the DLL. I suppose that is what happens when you make assumptions about
    how
    your tool will be used.
