Path in Pocket pc

Hi!
I have a problem.  I cannot read a file working with I modulate of pda.
I want to know how the path of a file is written. The file is kept in Pocket PC, in My Documents and their name is 'Area.txt'.
The figure shows pda.
Thanks.
Greta

  • How to make a gradient on two paths

    Hello,
    I am fairly new to Illustrator, although have used Photoshop, Fireworks and DW to some degree in the past.
    In CS4, I am trying to make a country map with different counties or states.  Using the map of the UK and including Wales, Scotland, and some of the counties as an example.  I need to portray the whole country, but only highlight a specific part of the land, along a train line and so quickly fade away to almost transparent in the further edges.
    Using the pen tool I have traced the country and county borders as paths. I then used the fill tool to make each country, or sea, a different colour.  Now I want to fade the edges of my map away to transparent to bring attention to the middle.  I have drawn another path on top and beyond the edge of the artwork and tried to make a transparency overlay and gradient in this path to make it fade to the edges.  However, this does not work as I had hoped for three reasons.
    1) the darkest edge of my 'fade path' does not blend into the country below but is quite an obvious line.
    2) the gradient is a different colour as it sits on top of other paths of different colours.
    3) the gradient is linear, from top to north, of radial, from a certain spot.  I need the gradient to flow out in all directions from a un-uniform 'blob' roughly in the middle.
    Can you please tell me how I can achieve my aim?
    3) I had one more query when tracing my map ...  I have two shapes and the paths align along one edge, think of the south border of Scotland, and the north border of England for example.  At the moment I have these two paths running alongside each other but not joined. So if I didn't draw my pen accurately, there are small pockets where they don't touch. Ideally I would like to borrow the other path line for a time then leave it as it continues on it's own route.
    Sorry if I mixed up the terms, I hope you can understand me.
    Hope you can advise which tools I should be using, or some tutorials I can follow?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Mylenium. I've certainly learnt something from both replies.  I have now finished tracing the countries using your paste and cut method.  It was quite a tedious job!  I also found using the lasso tool and direct selecion tool that I could highlight just the area that bordered the next county/country.  My the latter stages I had to select multiples, join them and then add, delete more anchor points.  I'm sure there must be an easier way to trace an image!
    I tried the live trace, but the map I was using was too detailed it traced geography and not the borders.  Anyway, I'm there now.  Thanks for the advice.
    I think I'm on the wrong track with the 'blob'. I didn't mean the blob tool on AI, but was referring to the middle content of my map following the railway line, which is the bit I wanted to 'stand out' from the rest. I have perservered and think I'm getting somewhere with the gradients.
    Thanks also Skullmaster for the idea of gradient.  It wasn't working how I need, but from your link I found how to make a 'transparent opacity mask' which I have used with a photo in the background to some effect.
    It is a feature rich software and hard to know what to look for when I'm not sure of the terms.  Unfortunately I have a deadline for what I'm doing and this map is only a small part of it.  It will have to remain a work in progress as I slowly learn more techniques.
    I'm sure I'll be back with more ...

  • Defining paths in scripts..... in need of a guru

    Here's a problem that Bridge scripts are having...
    If you have a volume named Users, the image processor, 1-2-3, AOM scripts won't run because as the paths are defined they will look in the volume "User" not the folder "Users" for files etc.... it's described better here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3477465#3477465
    the problem also exists if you try to use the merge HDR pro script, if you have a volume named "Applications" on your desktop.
    here's the KB for this similar problem:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/852/cpsid_85275.html
    you can replicate these problems by simply naming any external drive "Users" for the output script errors, or "Applications" for the HDR script errors. After renaming simply try any of the above scripts.
    Adobe is currently looking into fixing the scripts, but I know there are some scripting gurus around here that might have already encountered these types of problems and might have a speedy fix to the problem.... any thoughts?
    many thanks.

    -- I should also mention this is a Mac only problem.

    As long as there is mankind, and technology there are going to be problems!
    There's nowt wrong with my N95-1 and I'll be sticking with it for some time.
    You can get a bad phone - just like you can get a bad car, washing machine, stereo etc, etc.
    As long as the phone works OK there are often ways of improving limitations. Battery life is poor on my N95 'computer' but I have a rechargeable li-polymer external battery pack I bought for use with a PDA, it's very pocketable, reasonably light weight and would give me about 3 x recharges of my N-95.
    Frankly though I would avoid the N95 8GB - I don't like the idea of fixed memory and no memory card slot. If that fixed memory goes pear shaped, what then? At least with removable flash memory you can whip it out and put another one in. Micro SD-HC cards are expected to go up to at least 32GB in size, they are very small, very light and as is usually the case, they will eventually fall in price.
    Horses for courses! Good luck with whatever model you decide to get.Message Edited by keenas on 27-Oct-200709:19 AM

  • How to get rid popup of pairing bluetooth devices on Pocket PC?

    I'm developing bluetooth scanner and pusher through Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5.0.
    Almost all devices are processed properly except some Samsung phones.
    They need pairing key despite I'm using NO_AUTHENTICATE in obex url.
    So on my pocket PC (eten glofiish x500 or m700) there appears dialog box to add samsung ( for example SGH-Z370) to my pairing devices (input pin code).
    Is there any possibility to automate connection with samsungs. I'm thinking about 2 resolvers:
    1. setting default pin code (i'ts possible for example in linux bluez lib with setting /etc/bluetooth... defaultpin - can't remember full path and file), I've tried to find such setting in registers of windows mobile, but there is no info about that).
    2. writing c++ application waiting for event of appearing popup window and then pushing proper button and input default pin code.
    Maybe there is some other possibility (for example trying other protocol than obex or some parameter).
    I need automated sending of bluetooth content for all devices found around Pocket PC without any human interference of my Pocket PC. I need figure out how to connect to that SAMSUNG-s.
    Thanks in advance.

    First, note that your Mac cannot be infected with a PC virus. Deleting the file is all that is necessary, and even that is only necessary to avoid passing it on to others.
    Second, Symantec has a proven history of not understanding the Mac. Their software has been known to cause problems, and their detection of Mac malware is not particularly good. See:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/mac-anti-virus-testing-01-2013/
    I would recommend removing that. Then read my Mac Malware Guide for information on protecting yourself against malware.

  • File Dialog's start path input on PDA

    hello,
    I'm using the File Dialog function on a program executing on my PDA to prompt for a (new) directory path name.  I'd like to use the function's start path input so that the directory, by default, uses an existing directory on the PDA's memory card as its base directory.  I thought the path name would be:
       SD Card\LabVIEW data files\
    but with this start path connected (as a constant or a control), during runtime, the dialog window defaults to Location->Main Memory (instead of Location->SD Card).  It does, however preselect the desired the start folder: Folder->LabVIEW data files.  I'm assuming something's wrong with my start path format.  I tried:
        My Device\SD Card\LabVIEW data files\
    but then the start path defaults to Folder->none in addition to Location->Main Memory.   I also tried starting the path name with a backslash:
        \SD Card\LabVIEW data files\
    but then LabVIEW automatically prepends the path name with C:.  The PDA definitely doesn't recognize that directory, so both Folder and Location default again.
    Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?  I think I've successfully used File Dialog with the SD card inputted as the start path before, but I don't know what I did differently.
    thanks,

  • Drag and drop just to extract file path

    I'm writing a Cocoa GUI app to facilitate working with a command-line program. The scenario is quite similar to what I see in the Apple FileMerge.app. I'd have a NSView (or a drop pocket of whichever class appropriate) into which I can drag the file icons just in order to retrieve file's path, one by one, no visualization, no checking for file types, just for assembling a list of files to eventually be passed to the data crunching program as command line arguments. I've come across CocoaDragAndDrop sample program, which does great work in displaying dragged picture tiff and pdf files. Probably 90% of the code there is beyond what I need, but the semantics are so unlike anything I've ever come across (I'm miles away from image processing). I can't even figure where to start since everything seems so interconnected. Is there a simplest case example of Drag and drop which only serves file path extraction? From the aforementioned sample code I'm struggling to figure out what is the part which is absolutely needed only to retrieve the path? Do I have to init a [NSImage canInitWIthPasteboard: ... ...] if a file is a plain text file, or a raw data file? The app doesn't need to know what the file is, since passing the absolute path as text argument cannot do any harm in this case - the number crunching command line program takes care of the content. Do I need coders? Do I need a sourceOperationMaskForDragingContext? Does Drag and Drop even cover such trivial demands?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards, UU

    Thanks for your kind replay. Please let's stay on-topic: my question shouldn't have pointed at if "Apple works like this or like that".
    IMHO, it's quit opposite: many things are cut-and-paste compatible, yet I'm missing few basic explanations.
    The following code can be derived from the API reference:
    #import "DragTView.h"
    #import "AppDelegate.h"
    @implementation DragTView
    - (id)initWithFrame:(NSRect)frame{
        self = [super initWithFrame:frame];
        if (self) [self registerForDraggedTypes:[NSArray arrayWithObject:NSFilenamesPboardType]];
        return self;
    - (NSDragOperation)draggingEntered:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender{
        highlight=YES;
        [self setNeedsDisplay: YES];
        return NSDragOperationGeneric;
    - (void)draggingExited:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender{
        highlight=NO;
        [self setNeedsDisplay: YES];
    - (void)drawRect:(NSRect)rect
        [super drawRect:rect];
        if ( highlight ) {
            [[NSColor grayColor] set];
            [NSBezierPath setDefaultLineWidth: 5];
            [NSBezierPath strokeRect: rect];
    - (BOOL)prepareForDragOperation:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender {
        highlight=NO;
        [self setNeedsDisplay: YES];
        return YES;
    - (BOOL)performDragOperation:(id < NSDraggingInfo >)sender {
        NSArray *draggedFilenames = [[sender draggingPasteboard] propertyListForType:NSFilenamesPboardType];
        NSURL* fileURL;
        NSTextField* pathField = [(AppDelegate*)[[NSApplication sharedApplication] delegate] pathField];
        if (([[[draggedFilenames objectAtIndex:0] pathExtension] isEqual:@"txt"]){
            fileURL=[NSURL URLFromPasteboard: [sender draggingPasteboard]];
            [pathField setStringValue:  [fileURL path] ];
            return YES;
        } else return NO;
    - (void)concludeDragOperation:(id <NSDraggingInfo>)sender{
    @end
    It reveals the file path, yet, it boils down to fifty meaningless lines of code, since the pathField object (of class NSTextField) would itself reveal a dropped file's path without a single extra line of drag-and-drop code. What I find confusing is the following:
    How should a drag operation be set up, so a text file can be dragged to the DragTView object (declared as @interface DragView: NSImageView <NSDraggingSource, NSDraggingDestination>), which would than show the image of file's icon (without dragged file itself being an image file)? This is rather unclear in the documentation, with all due respect to Apple.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to run jar files on pocket pc

    hi,
    I have developed a .jar file on my desktop using jdk 1.4. Now i wnat to put that one on my pocket pc(compaq iPAQ)and make it run.What are the prerequisites i need and how can i get them.Please let me know in steps as i dont know any thing about pocket pc

    Hi,
    following steps are to be done:
    1. First of all, you must download the PersonalJava Compatibility classes, that are to be used in your classpath when compiling your application. You can do that under the following url:
    http://java.sun.com/products/personaljava/pj-cc.html
    2. PersonalJava classes are based on JDK 1.1.x and therefore some classes in JDK 1.4 are not compatible for our purpose. Download the PersonalJava Emulation Environment to be able to test on your desktop before running on your Pocket PC. (Another tool of interest here is JavaCheck, which allows you to check if your code is PersonalJava compatible) You find links to downloads under:
    http://wwws.sun.com/software/communitysource/personaljava/download.html
    3. Now you are ready to install a JVM on your PocketPC. You will surely find one on your Compaq-CD (JeodeVM).
    4. Write a .lnk file to be able to execute your app by only clicking once in a file on your Pocket PC. Example: your jar file is named demo.jar and is placed on your PDA under "My Documents". You main class within the JAR fie is called MyDemo. Now here is the content for the corresponding example.lnk:
    18#"\Windows\evm.exe" -cp "\My Documents\demo.jar" MyDemo
    Place the .lnk file whereever you want on your PDA (observe that we use absolute paths).
    Hope that helps.
    Have a nice day.

    how one can print a page to pocket printer from handset of nokia 40 series/60series/80 series
    if u have any information regarding these two question the pls send me the link

    I came across something similar recently where it printed the left hand side only!
    If I want to print an email, instead of File > Print  ( does not print properly ) I click on the print icon on my email webpage ( do not use applemail and access gmail direct) which then takes me to print preview showing the complete email which prints ok.
    Some webpages ( File>Print) do not print properly and some do. Those that do not generally have their own printer icon (path) that needs to be clicked on.
    Maybe something to do with encryption but don't know.
    Hope this helps in some way.

  • Launch exe on Pocket PC

    Hi,
    I am building a Flash application for a Pocket PC. I need to
    launch some exe files.
    I built a Pocket PC exe using MDM Zinc v2 Pocket PC Edition.
    This takes an swf file and generates the exe.
    I tried fscommand - exec but that did not work on this exe.
    I even tried using getURL, but there are some path issues.
    Any idea on how i can launch an exe.

    Sorry for not being clear or understanding. I have looked at the sample but that is using get_doc which is not really executing a program.
    Here is what I am trying to do. I have a application installed on the APEX server that takes a series of dynamic parameters. These parameters are stored in a database table. So I have a report which displays the various parameters needed to run program on the server. The user then picks a row from the report and the program is executed with the parameters from that row. Nothing needs to be displayed as results through APEX.
    I would have thought that this was easy to do but maybe not. Thanks again.

  • Install J9 for MIDP on Pocket PC windowns mobile 2002

    I'm a newbie to Pocket PC platform. Somebody please help me. I've been searching online everywhere for days.
    I have a j2me CLDC/MIDP application, built by Ant/Antenna. It works well on phone. Now i'd like to port the jad and jar files to Pocket PC. My Pocket PC is manufactured by Symbol, with Windows mobile 2002 OS installed. I know I should install one kind of VM on device first. Here I chose IBM J9. I tried to install "WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment 5.7.2 MIDP 2.0 for Windows Mobile 2003", I followed the installation instructions and there are following directories and files generated on device:
    Program Files\J9\MIDP20\bin:
    emulator.exe, j9midp20.exe, java.properties
    Program Files\J9\MIDP20\lib:
    j2me.keystore, security.policy, jclMidp20\AMS.jad, jclMIDP20\jclMIDP20.jxe, jclMidp20\ext
    Program Files\J9\MIDP20\examples:
    GolfScoreTrackerSuite.jad, GolfScoreTracker.jar, GolfScoreTrackerSuite.lnk
    Then I tried to run the example program. I clicked GolfScoreTrackerSuite.lnk, there popped up an emulator.exe error window: "Cannot find 'emulator' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available."
    can somebody please tell me what went wrong? Is it because my OS (windows mobile 2002) is too old? why there is no J9.exe in Program Files\J9\MIDP20\bin directory? According to installation help doc, the following files should also reside in Program Files\J9\MIDP20\bin:
    - ivemidp20_22.dll
    - j9mjit22.dll
    - j9mjitd22.dll
    - jclmidp20_22.dll
    But i don't have the above files by automatically installation of CAB file.

    Hello
    You should install the Mobile Server and the Mobile Development Kit on a desktop computer. Then, connect your Pocket PC to the desktop computer, call the ActiveSync program and select "Add/Remove programs". The Oracle Lite for Pocket PC option must appear on screen.

  • Pocket PC 2003 / J9 / Bluetooth

    I have an iPAQ and TomTom Bluetooth GPS. (Working fine)
    I want to capture the output of the GPS unit in Java outside the TomTom software.
    I downloaded the J9 evaluation system and can get the Hello World application to work OK.
    When I try to open com port 6 for reading I get an error. Reading the Forum suggests that this might be an unimplemented feature.
    Am I using the best JVM?, the right general approach?
    Does anybody have experience of J2ME and Bluetooth?

    I have the same problem of installing jar file to right place.
    I needed to run a hello type simple application on my pocket pc 2002 (ipaq 3870). I installed j9 on my device and also created a jar file using sun's wtk 2.2 (i use java 1.4.2). But i am unable to run this jar file on my device and get a NoClassDefFound Error. I assume that i only need to specify the classpath to that jar file and point to my application as a jar file.
    for example in my file is hello.jar,
    "/path/to/j9executable" "-jlc:cldcXXX" "-cp" "/path/to/jarfile" "jarfile"
    The directory where my jarfile is, also has the .jad and manifest files. Am i doing things incorrectly? Would appreciate some help. The golf tracker application that came with J9 works without problems (probably bcoz i just needed to click on it:-) )
    Thanks,
    Vinod

  • Unsupported prim – Build Path

    Hello:
    I have LabView 7.1 with the pocket pc 2003 module installed on a laptop. I also have a panel pc with a pcmcia slot, as well as a NI PCMCIA-CAN/2 card. I have already established communication between the laptop and the pocket pc using ActiveSync. Additionally, I have already installed the drivers for the CAN card into the pocket pc.
    Now I would like to run a simple Labview .exe to confirm I can actually communicate with my CAN bus. I don’t care what I see, just as long as I see something that proves the pocket pc can communicate with CAN.
    As I am not experienced with LabView, I would think the easiest way to do this is to use an example VI. I opened labview, and selected pocket pc as the target. Then I clicked on “Open -> Example.” I selected “CAN Receive.VI” as the example. Then in order to build the .exe file, I clicked on “Tools -> Build for PDA.” In the ensuing window that popped up, I clicked “Build.” During the saving progress, I received 3 errors in succession. They are:
    Unsupported prim – Build Path
    Unsupported node – PropNodeMeth, 94852
    Unsupported node – PropNodeMeth, 5184
    Are these errors due to this example not being available for the PDA module? If not, how do I fix this problem? If so, then is there another example VI I can build an .exe file for my pocket pc that you would recommend to accomplish my goal?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    I purchased the Pocket-DVD Studio for Palm software for my Palm TX. After downloading and installing it on my computer, I get the following message and am not able to open the program:
    The dynamic link library PQDVDB.DLL could not be found in the specified path
    I have uninstalled the 1st download and re-installed it again. I am still getting the same error message. Can anyone advise me as to how to correct this? I am running Vista on my computer. Thanks!

    Very simple really. I had the same problem until i decided to mess with the properties on the icon. On the compatability tab, click on the box that states "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", then select Windows XP (service pack 2)
    Just to get rid of the annoying pop up, also click on the "Run this program as an administrator" under Privilege Level.
    Have fun. n___n

  • Beginner Guide for developing GUI for Pocket PC

    Hi all,
    I have been developing Advanced Swing GUI for seven years now.
    The time has come to write some to Pocket PC, and it doesn't look good.

    Guide to installing and using CrE-ME JVM on a Handheld device:
    Step A: Where to download the CrE-ME JVM from?
    1. NSIcom.com has a 30-day free trail version of CrE-ME JVM and can be downloaded from the following link by clicking on Download Free Evaluation:
    http://www.nsicom.com/Default.aspx?tabid=159
    The version I downloaded was CrE-ME 4.1
    2. To download additional specific packages for applications that use SWING, RMI, etc. Click on View all downloads and download from the packages listed.
    Step B: Installing the JVM.
    1. Connect the device to a desktop.
    2. Install the CrE-ME version downloaded as you install any other application on your desktop.
    3. While installing, the installer program will ask if you want to install at the default location or to specify a path. (I guess installing to the default location will make life easier). Therefore, the JVM will be installed on the handheld device.
    4. Copy the additional packages downloaded to "\Windows\CrEme\lib" directory on the handheld device. Double click on the package (.CAB) file and it will configure itself.
    5. Test the sample applications given in \Windows\CrEme\demos\ to check the proper installation of the JVM.
    Step C: Executing your applications.
    C.1 Method 1
    1. Write and compile the program in any IDE but remember to compile the programs with jdk1.4 as CrE-ME 4.1 supports JDK 1.4 or earlier.
    2. Create a jar file of your application.
    3. Write a link file (.lnk), specifying the classpath and the CrEme exe file in the following format:
    255#"\Windows\CrEme\bin\CrEme.exe" -Of -classpath <full JAR file path> <main class name>
    Ex: 255#"\Windows\CrEme\bin\CrEme.exe" -Of -classpath \My Documents\Menu.jar Menu
    -Of is used to redirect the console output to be redirected to jscpout.txt file located in the root directory of your device. Use -Ob if you are using a console based application.
    255 specifies the number of characters in the file, but instead of counting the characters you can use 255 which is the maximum (in general, it is seen that a higher value works but not a number less than the number of characters)
    Also note that the classpath is in single quotes
    4. Copy the link file to the handheld device and then double click on the link file to run the application and if the application doesnt show up, you know where to look for the errors. The jscpout.txt file created in the root folder of your device due to the Of parameter used in the link file, will contain the console output and thus the errors.
    C.2 Method 2
    1. Write and compile the program in any IDE but remember to compile the programs with jdk1.4 as CrE-ME 4.1 supports JDK 1.4 or earlier.
    2. Create an executable jar file of your application using the Manifest.mf file to specify the main class.
    Ex: Main-Class: <main class name>
    Also remember to hit the return (enter) key at the end of manifest file.
    3. Copy the jar file to the handheld device and double click on it to execute.
    4. In case the output doesnt show up, it could mean that there were errors executing the application and to check for errors use Method 1.

  • About jmf on Pocket Pc

    question:
    1.whether the JMF pocket pc must implement is cross-platform jmf?
    2.whether the cross-platform jmf includes API used to capture video/audio?

    For zozonTz : I am not sure if this is the answer to your problem, but your error message looks similar to mine when I run the TVApplet.java downloaded for JMF Sample page on my 3870 iPAQ. A Pro from Sun send me an email and finally I can play a QuickTime movie clip with both video track ( compressed in CinePak) and audio track (compressed in ima4_ms). The email is quoted here:
    "JMF 2.1.1 (cross platform) works on the iPaq with a slight modification:
    You'll need to run the customizer tool and remove the JavaSound renderer.
    JMF is getting fooled by the Java version number on the Jeode VM. It
    thinks that it is running on JDK 1.3+ and tries to use the JavaSound API.
    You might have a similar problem with video, you'll need to manually
    remove Java2DRenderer.class from the jar file. Once again JMF thinks its
    running on JDK 1.2+ and tries to use the Java2D API.
    Please use these hacks for now until we can officially fix the problem.
    Of course, you can download the JMF source code and modify it yourself."
    How to run the customizrer.exe on an iPAQ? No, you don't need to according to this Pro:

    As how to install JMF on an iPAQ, it was very simple for me since 3870 modle has Jeode VM build in, all I did just create a directory for JMF and copy the *.jar file I needed for my application under it, then use -cp path/to/jmf/jarfiles in the script (*.Ink) to run the application.
