Pathetic download speed from iTunes servers

So.. I have a 100mb connection, just ran a speedtest and get 95mb/s.
iTunes is currently downloading a film at 100KB/s, that means it will take 5 hours to download this HD film I just bought.
So, suffice to say, I will never be buying anything again from iTunes. You'd think with the billion dollars in cash reserves Apple could buy a few more content servers.
Not impressed at all.

Dramatic fall in the download speed from iTune

Hey all,
Recently,I have seen a dramatic fall in the download speed from iTunes.
I have a 100/4mb line, which runs absolutely fine for everything else.
Currently, I am downloading an App on 42mb, which currently says it will take 26 mins to download.
Up until a few weeks ago the same file took 15 seconds!!! This problem is with my 2009 27" iMac.
If I do the upgrade of the same application on my iPhone 5 connected to the same router and Wi-Fi the download takes 15 seconds !!!

At that distance from exchange your max sync should be around the 2K you started with it may well increase again if left on 24/7
SN margin is not bad but may be worth checking for noise problems 6 Db is the target figure
Sn margin quoted by most routers is the figure that the system thinks your line needs for stable operation so higher is not better
Have you tried a quite line test
dial 17070 option 2 and listen - should hear nothing
best done with old type analogue phone digital will do but may have slight hiss
do not use home hub phone

Crawling Wifi Download Speeds from iTunes Store

Ever since upgrading to iTunes 10.7, my download speeds from the iTunes store have slowed to a crawl. Prior to upgrading, I was able to download video podcasts and other media @ over 10 mbps over wifi. I have tried this on several other networks, and am experiencing the same speed issues. This does not appear to be a router issue or a FiOS issue; I have done all of the usual troubleshooting and do not seem to have any issues with download speeds outside of the iTunes store.
I am running the iTunes 10.7, and have updated OSX to the latest release of ML.
Is anyone else experiencing ridiculously slow download speeds through the iTunes store using iTunes for Mac or iOS 6 devices?

I have a 50x5 Mbit cable business class modem, from Time Warner, in my house (doing that give me priority bandwidth over other residences).... Also as a business class there's no data caps or port blockings. The most I EVER get from the iTunes Store is 4-5MBytes/sec (about 35 Mbits)... Usually I get 1-2 MBytes/sec to iTunes or any device
My guesses are
1) Apple just doesn't have the bandwidth during certain times
2) I notice they throttle accounts. If I download an entire hd season, I start out fast, then it slows after a few hrs... Im guessing apple has a max data cap per day then slows you down.
3) I also don't think Apple is capable of handling all the new 35-50Mbit connections that are now readily available from the big cable companies.

Hi, I was trying to update my iTunes to download iOS7 from iTunes because my phone thinks it's software is up to date. I plug in my phone and press the update button for my phone and iTunes tells me it requires iTunes version 11.0.5 to update to iOS7. So I download 11.0.5 and I try again. This time I get the same message except it now says it requires iTunes 11.1. I'm betting abysmal download speeds, presumably from apple servers being overburdened. It took over an hour to download iTunes 11.0.5 and it was only 42.9 MB. Now I'm trying to update to iTunes 11.1 and the update is 141 MB. So I guess my question is, why is this happening and how many times am I going to have to go through it.

This has been happening to a few people right after upgrading. Just wait and give it some time and you will get the updates. The other thing you may see for a while is that there are updates available, which in fact, have already updated previously. THose go away magically on their own.
If you're feeling impatient, you could try to sign out of the App store from your Apple ID then sign back in. Not sure that's really helping anyone, but it may.

Test to see if you can download a free application from the App Store. If this was successful, test downloading the book again. Try closing all open applications and power cycling the device, test the results. Make sure you have an active Internet connection. Isolate the issue: (Mac OS X, Windows, iOS)
Make sure the issue is with the iTunes Store only. (You need an Internet connection to access the iTunes Store).Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for the iTunes Store. This also tests if the main ports 80 and 443 are accessible. If the website works but the iTunes Store does not, it is most likely a firewall blocking the iTunes software or servers. If this is the case, follow the steps in the "Blocked by software firewall" section below.

Yes, I have not made myself clear, I apologise.
I have tried downloading apps from itunes in order to set up a game for my son, when I go to click on a link, be this in itunes, or on the web, Safari revolts back informing the address is invalid. I read by coping a link and pasting into the URL, this would do it, but not so.
My goal then, is to install Minecraft for my son, I would then download an app to allow this but I am unable to get this far due to Safari insulting the address I ask it to go to

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
