Pattern repeat problem

Hello community!
I have a problem with a pattern / pattern origin. matter of a fact i have had this problem numerous times:
i create a pattern. the pattern looks good, everything cool. i switch back to my actual artboard/layer/drawing surface. I create a box and fill it with the pattern, let's say in the middle of the artboard. all of a sudden the pattern originates in the middle, on the side or i don't know where... and for whatever reason i can not give it the origin that i want..?! how can i set a point of origin for the pattern without having to transform it into a path or of the kind?
If the patten was really bad i took it and shoved it into an InDesign document, placed it as needed and printed it that way.
But there has to be an easier way?

The pattern's origin is positioned at the rulers' origin; (x=0 / y=0). To control its proximity to the object, align the object's top-left extent to the ruler origin, or vice-versa. To make it stick no matter where else you move the object, expand the object's fill.

Repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes

I am having multiple issues with the iTunes store currently. I have spoken with an Apple Expert on August 14, 2010 (case number available if needed). Although he was very good at helping me to the best of his ability, he referred me to iTunes Store Customer Service, which I previously was in contact with.
I have 2 types of repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes Store.
_Problem One - (1) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have 1610 missing files from my iTunes folders. I created a list of missing items by following these steps:
+If for any reason you find yourself with random missing tracks, (or are trying to recover from a dying hard drive like me), there is an easy way to isolate those missing tracks.+
+1. Create a standard playlist called "Not Missing".+
+2. Drag your entire library into that playlist. Missing tracks cannot+
+be copied to a playlist.+
+3. Create a smart playlist called where you select the following conditions in the options window for the new smart playlist:+
+*dropdown menu* PLAYLIST+
+*dropdown menu* IS NOT+
+*dropdown menu* NOT MISSING.+
+4. Rename the smart playlist "Missing"+
+5. Right Click the "Missing" playlist+
+6. Click the "Export..." option+

My missing playlistable items represent a better part of a decades worth of audiobook files, transfered files from my PC days, etc... i loved my - now missing - Doctor Who and Torchwood purchases from iTunes.
I have already read the Trouble Shooting, checked Time Machine Backup, and been walked through replacing the preferences list. The missing file path from the "get info" options in iTunes points towards a non-existant file.
_Problem Two (2) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have had problems downloading files from iTunes for months. I first noticed it with the TV Show "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Lately, when I download from the (non-music) part of the store, the majority of files are downloaded and then immediately not found. This has been prompting iTunes to repeat the download. Until I force quit itunes and *potentially cry*.
There have been multiple iTunes store purchases of audio books recently. If I reported the missing file immediately, I can contact iTunes support to repost the file and that usually fixes the issue. But today, I went to go rewatch "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and noticed Problem One.
_Hind Sight_
If provided with a spreadsheet of my iTunes Store purchase history, I can write a vlookup( formula in excel to compare the list against my exported missing list so a shortlist of what is missing from just my iTunes Store purchase history can be created (hint: it's the majority of items from the list, others are years worth of files from my PC days). If we could do that, could iTunes make my missing purchases available?
Then we can focus on purely, trying to figure out why they went missing in the first place - so we can prevent it again & possibly help others from running into the same.

I strongly suspect the two issues are related to a root cause ... in addition to my user error in file management of backups ... what is going on?

Macbook Pro Key repeat problem

I've had my MacBook Pro for almost 2 years now but it's recently started to have keyboard repeat issues. The keys are not physically stuck but behave like they are, in a totally random manner - including the delete key and the space bar. Messages will end up lookinggggggg a bittttttt like thissssssssssssss. Very annoying.
This tends to be accompanied by a sluggish trackpad too. Then after a while - it behaves normally again.
I have nothing else attached - anyone any ideas?

I've been having an occasional key repeat problem for a while, I'd say for a year. I'll be typing, and then I'll stop, and the last key I pressed starts repeating and keeps going until I press another key. I've also seen it miss characters sometimes. This happens more often than a key repeating by itself. I'll be sure I pressed a key, but I get "wrds like ths." Maybe I'm just not pressing a key "deep" enough. Sometimes I've tried typing a bit slower and that seems to help.
I regret not bringing my laptop in for someone to look at earlier, but I've been very busy for the last couple years. The problem hasn't occurred often enough to make it a problem that I felt compelled to solve right away. It just feels like an annoyance, like, "Come on. This shouldn't have made it off the line like this!" I don't want to start a "war", but I had a Windows laptop before my Mac and I never had these problems with the keyboard. There are other attributes I like about my Mac, so it's annoying but not a big deal for me.
I usually run VMWare Fusion 2.0, and I've suspected that it's a culprit. The problem doesn't just occur on web pages, though that's where I usually notice it when it happens. I've seen it in TextEdit as well. What I notice is it happens when I've got something else running in the background taking up CPU time. Maybe the computer is swapping to/from disk. Sometimes I've seen it happen on a web page with some slow Javascript on it, again taking up CPU time. It seems to me it's a matter of the hardware or software missing the signal from the keyboard. Perhaps it's related to the "keyboard sleep" problem, which I've also seen, where the keyboard and trackpad just go dead. In this case I put the computer to sleep for a bit and then wake it back up. That brings both back for a bit, but it usually reoccurs, in which case I reboot it.
I've been hoping that Apple would come out with a patch for the key repeat problem. So far I haven't seen it. Would an upgrade to Snow Leopard fix it?

PT880 + SATA repeating problems!

I'm a new member in this forum, I have read some threads and I was impressed by the answers - ultra professional!
I am a part of a company that resells MSI products among others.
We have sold a lot of MSI Configurations including PT-880 mobo's.
We have been selling these board extensivly for 6 months & we have a repeating problem specificly with the combination of S-ATA Disks & MSI PT880 mobo.
The problem: Custumers keep returning with OS that won't start up (It gets stuck in the loading screen) or the OS boots but it doesn't load it loops constantly.
After diagnsing the systems we have always found Bad sectors in the HDD.
It didn't happen to custumers with ATA drives It didn't happen to custumers with intel's 865PE chipset. But with the VIA PT880 & SATA disk it happens repeatedly like a disease.
It is well known that S-ATA is a new technology & not yet perfected yet, but this problem is beyond this.
All returning computers are ofcourse Flashed with the newest BIOS version
If you have any suggestions, questions or Ideas considering what is the main source of this problem I would be happy to be advised...

DO NOT use 1.5 Bios.......it works but is slow on the booting/post side...
1.4 is fast but has niggles with Prescott and SATA.....
1.7 is BEST and TESTED..........
Also, please check PSU can support min of 18Amps on +12V.....
With 1.7 Bios installed you should have no problems with hardware on this mainboard...... (Have tested with an Intel EE cpu.....lot of money too have lying around..... )

Main Wrapper, Container and background-image repeat problem-and Footer :-)

First off, i tried almost every idea i could get to solve this on my own but now im...aaa...
Well, the problem is i have a main wrapper with a background image repeat. A header,menu, body container - which has a left column and right column. I want that main wrapper,body container and both of the columns to grow auto according to content. I tried the height:100%. When i float the columns the text from left column spills over on to the footer. The left column also does not autogrow towards the footer?! I was able to set the footer at the bottom which i want it to remain at the bottom of the main wrapper, but the main wrapper and the columns do not grow automatically...I guess it has something to do with float and the clear properties but what???

JSF url-pattern *.jsf problem

I am working in a project to add the jsf page in the existing jsp application. It uses Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 as the server and eclipse for coding.
I created a jsf page named index.jsp and I added the code in web.xml as follows

It works.
What should I want to do to make
http:localhost:8080/myproject/index.jsf to render in the browser?

Method repeat problem

have some prob with the following, appreciate the help.
the Main Method is,
asking the user to input a specific number, if the specific number does not match it repeats the same message input.
i use the if statement to do this(not to sure whether it is correct,
i want to use the while loop, but does not know how to put it)
anyway it did the job BUT when i try to return the value from my method(the method is "square root the input number").
it will square root the specific input number but does not pops up the input message when the input number is not the specific number.
i think the problem lies in the if statement on where i put it or i need to use the while loop.
below is the program.
statements in bold is the pop up screen

I may be opening up a can of worms here but in the few years I have been learning Java I have never used a do-while loop. Perhaps that is a short-coming of my own but your use of it looks real messy.
I've taken the code I wrote earlier and have included the message dialogs to show you how to use the YES_OPTION. It works well and is less complicated than your attempt. There is probably a neater solution but hopefully you can take something from this.

NG6 pattern lock problem.

Is anyone else having the problem of not being able to interact with their phone after the NG6 update with pattern lock enabled? On the first unlock my phone takes me to my home screen but does not respond to touch. If I relock and then unlock again it will respond to input. This is super annoying. This patch seems to have broken more than it fixed.

Repeated Problems Accessing Secure Network - Which Pref Do I Delete?

More often than not, when I awaken my 20" iMac G5 from sleep or do a cold startup, it won't connect to my home network. It's an Airport Extreme closed network using WPA encryption. I'm running 10.4.6 on my G5. When this occurs, it tells me that none of my "trusted" networks can be located, do I want to logon to one of the other local networks in my area (there are a couple).
When I try to log on manually by selecting "Other" in the Airport menu bar dropdown menu, often it takes me 4-5 times to logon even though I know I'm entering the name, encryption level, and password correctly. The error I get is always "The selected network does not support this method of encryption" and gives me the option to try again. After a few repeats, I can get on.
I'm figuring that I have some corrupt preferences file or files somewhere. Do I delete them (if so, which ones?)? I've done both hard and soft resets, yet the problem has recurred.
Any suggestions for this annoying problem would be appreciated.

On your Mac.......
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on WiFi on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
Here you will see the connection order list for your Mac
Make sure that your preferred network is at the top of the list. If it is not, drag it there.
Click OK at the lower right of the window then click Apply and close the windows
Restart the Mac to see if it will connect to your preferred network now.

Pattern Matching problems

I'm having a slight problem with pattern matching. What I need to do is find if my pattern is a given string an return the end index.
Here's my string:
<TD>Some text</TD>
I need to find everything between the 2 anchor tags. (In this case "Some text"). The query string parameters are the only thing that can change.
Here's what I've tried:

Just change your Patterne. It will work. The '?' character is being considered as a pattern matching character, while you want it as it is. Use \\ before '?' character.

Nested Repeater Problem

Hi All,
I have a nested Repeater structure (please see attached
code). There is an outer Repeater which contains a VBox with
another inner Repeater inside that. I add items one at a time to
the Repeaters to create a tree like structure that should look
like:

Outer1
Inner0
Inner1
If the outer Repeater is set with recycleChildren="true"
then the inner Repeater data is shown incorrectly, specifically it
looks like:
Outer0
Inner0
Inner0 (Should be Inner1)
Outer1
Inner0
Inner1
If the VBox between the outer and inner Repeaters is removed
then the Repeaters work correctly.
I believe there is a problem here in that when a Repeater
recycles it's components it checks to see if each component is also
a [nested] Repeater and if so it executes that Repeater. However,
if the nested/inner Repeater is not a direct descendent of the
outer Repeater (ie. in this example there is a VBox between the
inner and outer Repeaters) then any [grand]child Repeaters are not
executed.
Has anyone else come across this? Am I doing something wrong
and/or is there a workaround? I may be able to fix it if I can
force the Repeater to execute, but unfortunately the execute method
is private.
Incidentally, I do not want to set recycleChildren to false
as this causes a flicker, and I need the VBox inbetween for layout
purposes.

DateTimeConverter pattern property problem

Anyone else have a problem entering a date/time pattern using the custom editor button [...] in the Properties tab?
Every time I enter a pattern (eg. EEE, d MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss zzzz) using the pop-up custom editor (accessed by clicking the little [...] button in the Properties tab for a seleted dateTimeConverter object) the pattern property doesn't take. After clicking 'OK' in the custom editor the pattern property remains blank.
The pattern is saved if you enter it directly in the Property tab text box without using the custom editor pop up.
Is this supposed to happen?
I noticed this as I went through the 'Tutorials About Converters' at http://devservices.sun.com/premium/jscreator/standard/learning/tutorials/converters.html - specifically Example Three: Using Converters for Date and Time Formatting.
Many thanks to anyone who can explain what I am doing wrong.

I put this little method into the session bean and it works well for me. I wrote it so it is in the pattern that
MySql likes for datetime.
Its handy for calling anywhere in the programme.

Repeat problems

I know this one is probably a stupid error, but I am missing it. I'm trying to modify an existing script for Photoshop, and update it, but I'm having problems reading the name of the file every time.
This snippet of code should be saved as an app, so you can drop many files on it. My problem is that it the script works properly the first time through, but fails on the second file of the group.
I know it has something to do with the " set the savedname to my changename(fileprops)" because everything works until I process the name through the old subroutine. What is it that I'm not understanding on why this will not work?

My guess is that the problem lies in how you're playing with AppleScript's text item delimiters.
In the first iteration through your loop you:
set the savedname to my changename(fileprops)
This handler changes the TIDs to "_srgb." and does not change them back:
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to the replacement_string
So now, in the second iteration through your loop, the line:
set filePropsNoExtension to text items 1 through -5 of fileprops
Is trying to break the filename into text elements based on "_srgb." and is almost certainly doomed to fail (unless you have some really strange filemames ).
The solution is to clean up after yourself in the changename handler - namely restore the TIDs before returning. You do have an (incorrect) attempt to restore the TIDs within the open handler, but that only gets executed at the end of the run (after all iterations of the loop) since it's outside the repeat block.
So your changename handler should look more like:
