Pattern tool creating hairline gaps different to pattern shape?

Hello,
I've seen a couple of similar questions but they refer to print - mine are for screen.  I've made a simple pattern using a hexagon, and applied it to the fill of a rectangle.  For some reason, illustrator is showing hairlines on top of the pattern which do not correlate to the original pattern edges.  When I export this as a .png the lines are still visible.  These are for my website so I need to get rid of the lines!
I've tried going into Preferences > General > and unchecking 'Anti-Aliased Artwork' but this only removes the lines within Ai.  When exported the lines are still visible.
I've also tried going into Effect > Document Raster Effect Settings and checking/unchecking 'Anti-Alias' but this makes no difference.
Can any one help?  Please

For my part you are welcome, beerswitch.
I assumed Save for Web because you mentioned its use for web. I believe that is the safest way to get it right, because it is crucial for the quality that you set the image size in pixels x pixels to the exact value that it is used on the web/screen. And it gets no better by being exported/saved at a larger size (on the contrary, it may get worse); if you export at anything but 72 PPI you may make a mess.
I believe you may have used, or left it at, an incorrect size in the Image Size window when trying Save for Web. Obviously, you should specify PNG24 with transparency.

  • Why do I have lines when I use the pattern tool ? is it an illustrator bug ? When I register it in .pdf or .jpg the line disappear ?

    Hello,
    When I use the pattern tool via the window which is here : object / patter / create --> and I choose in the mosaic style by brick columns I have this result : http://bit.ly/1nozEl3
    I don't understand why do I have those lines ? thanks for helping.

    Hello Jacob,
    Thanks for responding.
    Yes, it's seems to be a screen artifact, when I zoom they seem to move or disappear but they're still here.
    With SVG, it's the same.
    When I untick Anti-aliased Artwork, the artifact disappear, but my designs change, no more precision ! Have a look here :  http://bit.ly/UyGoVe
    Any other solution ?
    Thanks

  • Paint Bucket Pattern Tool has stopped working!

    It seem I can't fill anything with a pattern, the tool just refuses to work. The best I get with it is being able to fill the document with the background colour!
    I can fill with the forground colour but as soon as I switch it over to the pattern tool it will not work.
    Does anyone have any suggestion?
    It is Photoshop CS6 running on a MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.8.2

  • Create JPG files from a pattern

    Hello
    How to create JPG files from a pattern in Photoshop CC?
    I created a website where I used the pattern in the background, now I need a little bit of this pattern to be inserted into the stylesheet CSS. In earlier versions of Photoshop as I knew to do it.
    Thank you for your response.

    When i hovering in Preset Manager does not appear the pixel dimensions, I know this solution of the previous versions of Photoshop, but in photoshop cc does not work for me. Do you know of another method to check the pixel dimensions of the pattern?

    I was following the instructions my teacher sent and there was no mention of what program the tutorial used. I ended up finding a pattern tutorial for CS5.

  • A different interaction pattern

    Hi all,
    I want to use a different interaction pattern in my flow. I want a synchronous flow which will synchronously return an immediate response (actually the instance id of itself) to the client but it will continue processing, possibly for a long time.
    Is it all right to implement this flow with a normal synchronous flow? What other options do I have?
    Thanks in advance..
    Serkan

    It's more about how and what calls are made. A proper asynchronous process only ever makes asynchronous calls to asynchronous processes. If a process makes a call to another process, and then waits for a callback 'invoke', instead of a 'reply', then the calling process is asynchronous.
    To see why this is so, you need to know how BPEL PM manages processes. There's information in the manuals and I encourage you to search them out (try here: http://download-west.oracle.com/otndocs/products/bpel/bpeldev.pdf). In brief, if a process blocks, then it is asynchronous. A process blocks when it waits on an asynchronous callback (<receive> activity and <pick> activity), when it waits for a timer (<wait> activity), and probably something else as well.
    As has been discussed, if a synchronous process calls another process, and that process is not a true synchronous process and waits too long before replying, then the caller will timeout waiting.
    To answer another question, from my own experiments, a process is ended when it ends. It doesn't matter when it sends a <reply> or an <invoke> callback. I in fact have some processes which send two <invoke> callbacks, in a flow similar to yours.
    In your desired flow, if you can guarantee that your process will respond with its instance id immediately, then you can return the instance id with a <reply> and have the caller receive as a synchronous call, but follow that by the caller waiting asynchronously for a final callback.
    For example, the caller would be something like:
    <invoke name="sub_process" inputVariable=".." outputVaribale="instanceID" .../>
    // sub_process replies immediately with its instanceID. then waits a long time before replying a second time
    <receive name="sub_process" variable="..."/>
    the sub_process would be something like:
    <receive>
    <reply variable="instanceID"/>
    // do other stuff
    <invoke name="client"/>
    If, however, you can't guarantee the instanceID being returned immediately. Replace the synch reply with an asynch callback, and then you'll have two asynch callbacks, and two <receive> activities in the caller.

  • PE12: how can I create a gap in timeline?

    In Expert timeline, is there a way to create a gap, so that copies of other clips on the timeline can be copied into it without covering other clips?
    The objective is to insert a series of very short-duration copies of various clips to create a section with multiple quick changes from one image to another.
    I have been using a workaround (insert black screen, then copy and paste clips from the timeline over it) but this is very tedious and inefficient, adding extra steps to the process.
    I have so much stuff in the timeline that lassoing and dragging everything back and forth is even less efficient.  And sometimes causes crashes.

    VDOS,
    Thanks.  This would be good but I have a ton of stuff on the timeline and when I do a lasso-drag operation half the time the program crashes.  Also I'm trying to avoid all the selecting and dragging--very time consuming.
    Actually for my specific question I found the answer last night:
    1. Copy clip(s) that need to be copied onto different a timeline location (Ctrl-C).
    2 Put CTI at target location on timeline,
    3. Shift-Ctrl-V
    This will copy the clips to the CTI location, sliding everything to the right to make room.
    As you note, if you have anything on any other track PE12 will chop it up and shift it, which I have learned the hard way.  So I have had to remove the sound track, to be put in later.  I consider this to be very poor design; there are countless situations in which the sound track is essentially background music which has absolutely no specific connection to any specific scene or clip, and failure to allow for an override of the synchronizing feature is very poor design.
    It seems that to simply create a gap for whatever reason, maybe the quickest way is
    1. Put CTI at target location for gap
    2. Create Black Screen
    3. Insert Black Screen to Timeline.  Everything will slide right to accomodate.
    4. R click Black Screen, choose Delete.  Screen will be deleted, leaving a gap.
    5. Clear Black Screen from Project Assets (to avoid filling up that area with useless junk).  Or leave it if you think you'll use it again.
    This can be a convenient marker for quickly finding some area or clip that you need to work on later.  Or for indicating areas that you want to export later.

  • How can I see the Query view created for a different user

    Hi All,
    How can a user see the View of a query created for a different user??
    I would like some info about how to give access ( if it is a access problem) or tell me the steps to do that.
    Regards, Federico

    Hi all,
    Maybe I didn't explain me as i should or maybe you dont know what is a Query View. Lets try again, showing you the steps to open a "Query view".
    This way is from Bex Analyzer (Excel)
    I open the Bex Analyzer and connect to the system -> Open query -> Under "Type" choose "Query View"...this is just a different view of the original query (more or least columns/rows).
    This way is from Bex Web:
    Once you open/execute the query, you have a ComboBox to choose the view (previously saved)
    The problem that we have is that the views created for a user, can NOT be found by other user. The only user who can is the owner.
    Could it be an authorization problem? or is ther any configuration possible to see it?
    Thanks in advance, Federico

  • Create tables in different database schemas using EJB 3 Entity Persistent

    Hi All,
    I would like to find out how to get the following tasks done using EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent:
    ( i ) Create tables in different schemas such as STUDENT under EDUCATION schema and table PATIENT in HOSPITAL schema. We can then reference them in SQL as EDUCATION.STUDENT and HOSPITAL.PATIENT.
    ( ii ) Reference these tables uniquely once they are created.
    There are no pre-existing tables or naming conventions that needs to be adhere to in this situation.
    I have no problem creating tables on the current schema in EJB 3.0 Java Entity Persistent.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    Use the schema attribute of the Table annotation:
    package javax.persistence;
    @Target({TYPE}) @Retention(RUNTIME)
    public @interface Table
       String name( ) default "";
       String catalog( ) default "";
       String schema( ) default "";
       UniqueConstraint
    uniqueConstraints( ) default {};
    }

  • Why inserting audio creates a gap in my video ?

    Hi,
    I try to insert a short audio mp3 bakcground music in my work.
    I try to insert it several times because it is short and I need it repeat.
    So I insert it once at begining of my work. When I insert it a second time, it will create a gap between the end of previous audio piece, and its own end.
    Why on earth does it does this ? Why audio can break video ? This turns me mad, please tell me how can I insert audio files without destroying my video ?
    Thanks,
    Uglook

    Are you trying to put it onto the Audio 1 track? If so after the insert (that creates the gap) you will need to break the video/audio link by right-clicking the audio track and selecting 'Unlink Audio and Video'. With the link broken you can then move just the video clips to fill the gap.
    If you are not already using the 'Soundtrack' track for something else that would be the better place to add your mp3 clip.

  • Why does pan and zoom create a gap in the video?

    I am using pan and zoom to move around still pictures with Premiere Elements 10.0.
    When I create the frames and pans in the picture and return to the timeline, PE has inserted a blank gap after the next cut in the video. The pictures are on a separate video track. The gap is just gray and I can't delete and close the gap. When I right-click the gap the Delete and Close Gap popup button is grayed out and cannot be clicked. I'm being very careful to make all of the hold durations plus the pan durations for all frames add up to be the exact length of the original still picture I'm using. Nothing I try seems to get around this problem.
    Any suggestions will be greatly apprecieated.
    Thanks.

    I do not recall reading of a Bug in the program, that would create a gap. It would be more likely, that something is being done in the editing, that is creating the gap.
    Having a Title on a Video Track "above" the Clips (Video, or Still), is the normal method of doing an overlay Title, that will appear above the Clips, and display as a superimposition of the Title over the Clip.
    Now, when editing, one can control how the editing operation affects existing Clips on the Timeline. For instance, if one wishes to edit, or add material, and have that "ripple" all the existing material, then that is the default editing function. If they, instead, wish to have the edit, or the additional material "replace" Frames in the existing material, then this is done by holding down the Ctrl modifier key. It all depends on what the user requires to happen.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
