Pause and play timeline with embedded video

I have created a banner that is currently being used at www.bandg.co.uk
I have been asked if it is possible to add a video to this banner.
However, the problem I have is with the banner having mlutiple slides.
What I am looking for is a way of having the timeline pause when the video is clicked on, then for the timeline to continue when the video is paused (basically making the video a start and stop command button).

Premiere Pro Timeline with 3 video channels and 4 audio channels, audio channels change to 8 channels when clip dragged onto timeline.

Premiere Pro Timeline with 3 video channels and 4 audio channels, when clip dragged onto timeline audio channels change to 8 channels. Audio track mixer changes too. I edit undo to remove dragged clip and it reverts back to 4 channels of audio on timeline as does the audio mixer? Any ideas as to why the audio channels and mixer changes?

you can check the clip you are dragging to the timeline, if it has 8 tracks... can check by right clicking it in the project bin, choose modify, audio channels.

How to play the pdf embedded video on firefox

I embed video into pdf quite often, if I want everyone with Acrobat reader version earlier than 9 (6,7,8) can open it, I have to chose "Create legacy multimedia content..." when I embed the video. The problem is, when I make the pdf with Mac, usually I use mp4 video, but a lot of PC's can not open it because they don't have the codec (they have to install it first); but if I embed it with wmv, Mac users can not open it. Also the latest Firefox browser doesn't have the plug-ins for the new pdf, thus can not play the embedded video. Anyone can help? Many thanks...

Adobe has not had a PDFPlugin for Mozilla Products Since OS 9. I have put in a bug about it at least once every year.
There is a PDF Browser Plugin by Shubert of Germany, that will view PDF's. Now Safari will work with the Acrobat PDFViewer Plugin and any other Browsers using Webkit including iCab. You can set SeaMonkey FireFox, Camino, to use the Adobe Reader or even Acrobat rather than a plugin.
It's sad and funny at the same time. Adobe until Acrobat came out was just a Font provider. And Adobe got started with other products on the Mac, because mac users were a little more bold and daring and would try out new technology. Acrobat on PC (Widows/DOS) wasn't accepted for another two years. Then when then got a foot in the door in the Windows world, they all but abandoned the Mac Platform.
They refuse to fix crash and performance issues on Mac for Flash. One reason why Jobs has took the stance he has about Flash on the iPad/iPhone.
But they are not the only ones. Intuit (Quicken) got started on Mac first. Then when they got toe hold in PC world they have been shafting Mac Users every since.

Help with embedding videos

I please need help with embedding videos from youtube. I do this via the Web panel (not the video panel) and copied the embed code on Youtube and pasted it into my Indesign CS6 (autoplay activated). However, when testing this on my iPad, only a white box appears and I cannot press a play button.

Are you sure, that you changed code from youtube?
Code from youtube is:
src="//www.youtube.com/embed/KulFWmvbEu4
but you need to change it to
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KulFWmvbEu4
For us, best result is to embed video via:
menu Object > Include HTML (don't know exact english name of menu), paste iframe code with correct http link and then it works.

Pause and Play Toggling Button

I have created a Pause and Play button that toggles between states. It controls a Timeline with synced Sound. When I use it the sound and animation go out of sync. Can anyone help me with this or perhaps have better code I could swap out to make this work?
Below is what I am currently using:
On the first frame of an Action Script layer put this AS:

you have, what appears to be, conflicting code. and you appear to be using a netstream instance. so:
1. remove all code attached to objects. copy and paste the only code you have affecting your pause/play button.

How do I create/host interactive articles with embedded video for use in browsers?
The aim is to bring together video, design, images and writing in one place. A little like Born Presents, but very accessible and user friendly.
I'm happy using InDesign but want to create interactive articles / magazines that have embeded video files as required. I've been looking at .SWF files but I've come unstuck.
I want people to view the articles via a blog, ideally with them opening in a lightbox style viewer. It's not intended for tablet viewing and people should be able to view and interact with the files with little effort on their part.
I think I know how to create these files within InDesign, but I'm not so hot on web design and I'm not sure how to host these online. Does this start coming into the realms of Flash?
If anyone could point in the right direction I'd really appreciate it - Thank you in advance.

PDF is one thing. Folios for DPS is another. There is a little bit of
overlap but not much.
The interactivity in the folio overlays panel is for DPS only.

I'm asking because I know someone who wants to publish interactive educational texts in an e-book format.

AS2: Local Connection - Pause and Play Videos

I have two exe's, they are a mock-up of a control system....one is the controler that sends commands through LocalConnection to the other which simply plays video of what would be happening when certain buttons are pushed on the controler. I got it working with this code (with help I got here):

What I need to do is add a function to the above code that will pause all flv movies in both the sender and reciever (one flv movie each) and pause all object movies on the sender when the pause1 button is pressed.
The parent needs to pause 1 flv movie and 2 object movies and I need to SEND a command to the other exe to pause one flv movie.
I started the code but, of course, it doesnt work...the button is active as I get a trace...My attempt to start this is in red at the end of the code above. 'pmvOpen' is the name of the flv movie on the parent and I don't know HOW to begin pausing the other movie called 'pmvOpen1' through LocalConnection or to pause the 2 object movies called 'Chart1' and 'Chart2' on the sender.

^^ this is how I had it doing the pause before the requirement to have a second screen. This was simply attached to the pause button...I still need to pause all of the above but also I need to pause a movie through local connection at the same time.

Html export with embedded video won't play on ipad

Keynote 6.0 for Mac - when you export a keynote as html, if there is embedded video, the video will not play on an ios device.

If you didn't repair permissions after updating Safari, try that.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
Also, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari. Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.

Swf with embedded videos pauses in PDF output (CP6)

I've created a CP project that includes several simulations recorded on slides. The HTML and HTML 5 outputs run smoothly, but the PDF output pauses at the end of each embedded video. Is there a setting or property that will run the entire swf without pausing?

Problems with pausing and playing again

Whenever I'm listening to a song by The Ramones, then i pause for a second and play it again it skips to the next song. It is only with songs by The Ramones though. If anyone can help please post.

Have you tried re-importing the songs from the Ramones? If not I wouldtry that first. Other than that I can only think of restoring the Shuffle. (Making sure that you have the latest version of the iPod shuffle software) Start the iPod updater program, (Without the iPod attatched) insert the iPod and click "Restore". This will wipe your shuffle clean of all music and put it at factory settings but is normaly one of the first thins one tries when troubleshooting.

thing happened - sound is playing but no video. Does it have something with codec support?

Safari (and Firefox) freezing on all pages with embedded video

Hi, is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any pages with video, with the exception of YouTube, have been freezing on both Safari and Firefox (Hulu, etc.). They don't load and I have to force quit the applications (and, of course, not watch video). Is anyone else having this problem? I've repaired permissions, emptied the cache, delete the plist file, and it's still happening.
Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions? All help appreciated. M

I was having a problem with Safari and Firefox and Camino quitting when I tried to view an online video, such as full length episodes on the TV network websites. I upgraded Adobe Flash to the latest version (version 9.0.124.0) and then repaired permissions and this took care of the problem. (Before I posted this I double checked the fix by going to the CBS and NBC web sites and watching 5 minutes of CSI:NY and Chuck and both played fine with nary a hiccup.)
