Pause before lock screen

Original ipad wi-fi 3G, consistantly updated a short pause from button-push to lock screen suddenly turned into a long pause from button-push to lock screen. Sometimes it pauses until a fraction of a second before the lock screen times out, sometimes it almost boots normally but never more than once. Tried reboot-reset-refresh, started from scratch, nothing has seemed to help.

I have the same problem. I guess these are bugs on Control Center app, and hope Apple sees to this and release updates to fix them soon.

IPhone music pauses when locking screen

Hi guys!
I have an iPhone 3GS and my issue is that when I play music whenever I go to switching to a different app or locking the phone the music (podcasts) pause for a second or two and then begin playing again.
Has anyone had this issue before and knows any suggestions on how to fix the issue?

Hi, I had the same problem. Now, I know you said not to reply if I was gonna say that the headphones are in correctly; but I had the same problem and it worked. Push them in as far as they go! It works! You may have thought you tried that (I did too),but one day I was ****** that it didn't work, and I pushed them in as hard as they could, and now when it goes into the black screen mode, the music keeps playing, I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you, but it worked for me and all my friends. IMac Mavericks App Store Download Recycle on Lock Screen?

I've been searching for as precise a description of my issue as I could find, but haven't found it. So, I'm putting it here for commiseration and, mostly, help.
Brand new iMac, running Mavericks. In the App Store, clicked "Purchases." Started to download (via Wifi) what's needed. One or two of the smaller apps downloaded fine, but the larger ones (e.g. GarageBand, Keynote, and Final Cut Pro) kept "recyling," by which I mean, they would get a quarter or a third of the way done, then go right back to zero. AppleCare seemed to help by saying "It's really just downloading the larger applications in packets, so it's probably just going back to get the next packet and, when it does, it goes back to zero."). After doing a few things they suggested, it seemed to work a bit better, but that was not, in fact, the case.
This morning, our Administrator (it's a corporate machine) went around our security by connecting my hard-wired to ethernet. The next larger app or two downloaded fine, but when I got to Final Cut, the same problem, again. Thinking the download may be recycling (going back to zero) on (or just before) lock screen, I disabled the lock screen password protection. Final Cut Pro is now about to finally finish downloading, all at once. There were no "recycling to get packets" or any other interruption of the process.
Question:
Will app store downloads be interrupted when the computer goes to lock screen? This seems to be the case. If this is, in fact, true, what can I do to fix this? I'd prefer not to have to disable the lock screen each time I wish to download a large file. Seems kind of bogus, no?
Also, FYI, bluetooth is off.

Can't pause music from lock screen in iOS 6?

I have my iPhone 4s set up with a passcode. In iOS 5 I could pause and resume music and podcasts without having to unlock the phone with my passcode. I no longer have that ability in iOS 6. If I have a song or podcast playing the phone will Auto-Lock after a minute, and to pause playback I have to slide the slider and then enter my passcode to make the controls visible.
I've done a fair number of searches to determine whether this can be controlled with a setting but haven't been able to find any answers. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or did Apple remove this functionality?

PS: I wasn't planning on upgrading to iOS 6 any time soon, but I dropped my 11-month-old iPhone 4s a week ago during our first trip to New York. Smashed the front glass (couldn't find my bumper before we left). Out-of-warranty, no Apple Care. It turns out we were only a few blocks away from the upper west side Apple store. They replaced the shattered phone with a "new" one for $200 (plus $50 for Applecare and $30 for a case), but ended up with a phone running iOS 6. So now there's this lock screen control issue, plus the map issues (which weren't too bad). On the bright side, I made a lot of use of the Panorama photo feature on our trip. And I was happy we were able to get a replacement within an hour, even though it cost $200+.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner! Thanks so much Steve A. Double tapping the Home button does toggle the player controls on and off from the lock screen.
I was hoping it would be something simple like that.
Just wondering, is that functionality explained somewhere? As I wrote in my first post I did several searches to come up with a fix or explanation for this issue.

Yes! everything is on, I even turned it off and then on again, nothing, I can't get the messages showwing up while I am reading a book like before, frustrating!

Why are the forward and backward buttons so close to the play/pause button on the lock screen?

The quickest way to control the playing of music or podcasts is on the lock screen after double tapping the button. The controls for forward, rewind and play/pause are way too close together. There seems to be no logical reason for having them so close when there is room on the screen. Is there a way of moving these buttons?

My lock screen picture is zoomed in. When I try to change it, I can't scale it, or try to zoom out to a position I like. It is permanently stuck in one position. I asked a friend that had ios7 and he can't relate, and has never seen it before

To back to the normal scale you have to disable the parallax.
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion (turn off)
You won't be able to put the wallpepr out of frame as ios 6 (earlier), but it stop to putting the annoying zoom.

Anyone else having trouble pausing and skipping music from the lock screen?

I usually listen to music in the mornings and when I go to pause my music or change the song it simply won't work unless I go into my phone and use theistic icon to pause it or skip it.

it works fine on my phone. try to check access Settings- Control center - make sure Access on Lock Screen and Access within Apps are On. while on lockscreen mode, try swiping up from the bottom of the screen to view control center. try to play a song, then swipe it down to hide the control center. u will see there music playing while on the lockscreen and can pause it from there.. hope this will help.

Lock screen pausing

I just got my Galaxy S5 and I noticed that when I'm playing music on Spotify and I lock my phone, I can't pause or skip from the lock screen. Is there a setting that I can change to fix it or is the feature not availble on this phone?

I have a similar behaviour.
I play a podcast in the Podcasts.app, and a few hours later, when I hit 'Play' on the lockscreen, the music player 'forgets' this fact and just grabs a title from the music library instead of continuing with the podcast.
This started happening in IOS6, so I think this is a new 'feature'....

Play/Pause When Doubleclicking from Lock Screen

So I have a 4S and up until yesterday when I would double click the home button I could play and pause the music just fine, but now even when music is playing the music controls on the lock screen don't register anything and when I hit the play/pause button, nothing happens. I can control the volume from the lock screen but when I try to play/pause the music from the multitasking menu, I have the same problem as the lock screen. Is there anything I can do about this?

Try doing a hard reboot of your iPhone: Press the Menu button and the power button until you see the Apple sign. See what happens then

Whenever I try to pause or skip music on my lock screen it doesn't allow me to. It doesn't allow me to do that from the control center either. I am running on iOS7. How to fix this problem ?

I came on here to see if anyone has a solution, but it seems there might not be one just. Keeping my fingers crossed. Quickly adjusting music selections from the lock screen was one of my favorite and most used features (not to mention this bug renders control center pretty much useless to me if I have not access to my music from it).

If this is the problem following the instruction. Frequently it is a hardware problem.
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
Otherwise try (assuming that other devices see your network)
- A reset. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power of and then back on your router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>Genral>Reset>Reset Network Settings

When playing YouTube in background the phone stays on and does not auto lock and if it is auto locked and you receive a text it will stay on / lit even in the lock screen

Mine and my wifes iphon 5s is having way too many problems for today's technology, when using iTunes music app from the lock screen if you press pause from the lock screen it stays the same not like before when you paused the music the play buttons would disappear but now they just stay there, and when playing YouTube videos in the background from safari and the phone is in lock screen and you receive a text the screen will stay lit until you turn it off yourself and also the same thing happens in the home screen if your playing YouTube from safari in the background the phone won't auto dim of auto lock after any amount of time it will stay on forever these problems need to be fixed, also the wifi is not working like it used to and the LTE and 3G data are slow, slower then the 3GS when ios 6 came out. Any number of things could have caused the phone to do this. If after the reset you are experiencing additional problems, the next step in the troubleshooting process is a restore from a backup. Make sure you have one before you start the restore process. If that does not improve things, then you may have to restore as a new device. Remember, restoring as a new device will delete all data off the phone. Make sure all of your pictures are imported to the computer and all other data is synced to supported applications on the computer before restoring as new. Podcast app pauses after unlocking screen

After installing the latest update I've been experiencing an issue where the podcast app will pause whatever podcast is playing after the screen is unlocked. Is anybody else experiencing this issue? Any solutions?

With the latest update to this idiotic and pointles app (Apple just can't admit that they're wrong and put the podcasts back in "Music/Audio"), they fixed SOME BUT NOT ALL of the stuttering and pausing when going from lock screen to the phone menu (it's also bled over into the music as well). I mean, it's better than before in that it now happens 10% of the time instead of 70% of the time.
Also with the latest update, when deleting a podcast episode from the phone in itunes, a "ghost" of the podcast stays on the phone requiring a second step in the deletion process (a third if include also deleting the episode from itunes itself). Doing a bang-up job there, guys, of forcing people to use something that noone wanted/needed, and then continually making that thing worse.
