Pause between inro and menu

Hi!
I have made an intro to my menu (animating the menu in).
But there is a little thing that is enoying. The pause between the intro and the menu that happends when the dvd are played on a dvd player.
I have heard about something that is called VTS (Video Title Set)
My question is: Is this possible to configurate is Encore dvd 2??
(excuse my bad english. I did not have a dictionary right now ;-) )
About VTS (from the Apple dvd studio por manual):
VTS Editor
The VTS Editor allows you to verify and control the VTS (Video Title Set) structure of your project. Using the VTS Editor, you are able to manually assign elements to VTS blocks. This makes it possible for you to optimize the final DVDs layout so that when its played there are minimum pauses due to the player having to move between elements in different parts of the disc.
When you play a DVD and a jump must occur, such as when a menu button is selected that jumps to a tracks chapter marker, there is a slight pause while the DVD players laser locates where to jump to on the disc.
- If the track is in a different VTS block than the menu, the laser must first jump to the video manager files, and from there on to the tracks VTS.
- If the track is in the same VTS block as the menu, the laser is able to go directly to the track.
You can improve a discs playback performance by keeping related elements together whenever possible. For example, you should place the scripts used with a specific track in the same VTS as the track.
Since menus often link to multiple tracks or slideshows, you will not be able to keep them together with everything they can jump to. However, you can minimize the time a DVD player spends jumping from the menu to the video manager files by keeping the menus in the first VTS, which is physically located close to the video manager files.

Anders.
You cannot configure projects in quite this manner with EncoreDVD - and in all honesty, this is pure sophistry on Apple's part.
The way Encore works is to turn the timelines into VTS
i in the order in which you create the timelines in your project.
This cannot be altered later, but would make a fine feature request
http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html
There will
i always
be a slight lag between a movie and a menu, no matter what application you author in - even Scenarist has this, as the player is jumping from a Movie into Menu Space. In Encore, you can minimize this lag by creating the intro sequence as a motion menu, and then using a transition to the main menu - this would keep both your intro and the main menu in Menu Space, and very close together indeed.
It's probably the best solution for you - much better than DVDSP, that's for sure!

  • Black pause between timeline and end action

I am using Encore DVD 2.0 and After effects 5.5
I made my menu in Photoshop and animated it in After Effects. I brought them both into Encore DVD, set the animation as first play and the end action as the static menu. When I preview it, there is a few seconds of black between the 2. I want the transition to look seamless. Is there a setting to get rid of the black? or is there any other way to do this without having to go out and buy a better version of after effects?

I want to solve the same issue!! Did you solved yet???
Where are you observing the black "pause," in Encore's Preview, or on a burned test DVD RW on a set-top player?
That can make all of the difference.

  • Accessibility : correspondance between buttons and menu items

    Hello,
I have been dealing with accessibility API to retrieve information from menu items and buttons in tool bar. In addition, I would like to be able to create a correspondance between a button (let's say, the "new message" button in mail) and a menu item ("new message" one in the menu bar), since they perform the same action. Is there any way to process to this correspondance "automatically" ?I first wanted to check name matchings, but some item do not really share the same name (e.g. refresh button in Chrome).
How could I do that ? Is there any chance the button and the menu item might call the same "action handler" or something ?
    thanks in advance

Use an external sound editor to reduce the level of the audio-file [of the menu]; and then use the quieter version in DVD-SP. Try installing Bias Peak LE, which should have come with DVD-SP.

  • Why is the ipod insisting on pausing between tracks?

My ipod 30g is pausing between tracks and there is no apparent way of altering that. This is a serious unresolved problem with the ipod which I feel needs to be discussed until Apple either recalls it or resolves the issue.
I did a search for this topic and I found that the few discussions that existed did not get the airing they deserved before they were archived.
If I didn't know Apple better I would think this is a cover-up. I called tech support and after I assured them that the itunes cd preference was set to no pause they had no answer but to re-install the software which would involve erasing all my content. And you know I got the "I haven't heard of this problem yet.." cliche tech response to de-emphasize a gaping disfunction.
Yes I'm keeping my ipod but they should not have released it for market with this audio anomaly. And yes I will merge all my tracks in itunes because that pause can ruin and entire CD if there is continuous sound.
Does anyone know if Apple is at least considering rectifying this flaw?

The iPod has never supported gapless playback.
    You can suggest Apple add this feature here;
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html
It's no big conspiracy - we're not alowed to speculate here about what features Apple may or may not add in the future, so there really isn't much to talk about.

  • Pausing between chapters in DVD Pro

I would like to have my finished DVD pause automatically pause between chapters, then resume when I press play on the controller. Simple concept. Can I set that up in DVD Pro or is it done in FCP? Thanks

I set chapter markers at the beginning of each section. There are 5 sections with a transition between each one. I put the chapter marker in the center of each transition where the image was black.
To create a pause in DVD Pro I selected a chapter marker which activated the navigation menu where I could select Playback Options. Under Playback Options I selected 'Pause after each VOBU'.
That didn't seem to work at first until I selected 'Wait: Infinite'.
It worked perfectly in my Simulator. I was thrilled. I burned the DVD without making any other changes and then had the problems on the finished DVD. Should I save the project or something before burning? That's where I am. thanks for your time!

  • Pauses between tracks? (Brutal 1 or 2 second interruption between tracks)

I would like to know if there is a way to program the iPod so that when I’m listening to an album that is supposed to be heard in continuous playback (no pauses between tracks, like in operas, some new age albums and classical music) I can hear it without the brutal one or two second interruption the internal software inserts between tracks.
Here’s what I have tried. I went to iTunes preferences, in PLAYBACK, and set the CROSSFADE PLAYBACK indicator to ZERO (0) seconds. Then, I updated the iPod. There remains a very noticeable skip between tracks that isn’t there on the original CDs. It is a little better, but still too noticeable.
What I mean is this. When I listen to my CD on my computer or sound system, there is absolutely no gap or skip between tracks…the music just flows on (example : Alexander by Vangelis, or a Wagner opera). The music is continuous. No skip between tracks.
Should I conclude there is no way to import this type of recording on the iPod (and iTunes) without adding a skip (even if only a short one) between tracks?
I have a 40 Gigabytes iPod, version 3.1 of the iPod software.
    Thanks

This question is one that crops up a lot on these forums and has been a major source of complaint for as long as the iPod has been in existence.
Currently the only way to eliminate the gap between songs is to import the cd as one track. You do this by using the “join cd tracks” option in the advanced menu of iTunes.
Make sure the tracks are in their correct order, and highlight those you wish to join.
No gaps, but the downside is that you will of course lose the ability to navigate between tracks, and the song info is also lost. The iPod will display the cd title in the song field in the “now playing” screen . You’ll also have one large file instead of a number of smaller ones.

  • Eliminating pauses between LIVE tracks?

Hi. I listen to some music on my iPod (4G) and iPod Nano, that is either live, or music that is continuous from track to track, with no break (such as some of the later Beatles albums). Unfortunately, you get a fraction-of-a-second pause between all tracks. It's not noticeable when listening to most music, but it IS noticeable when listening to live tracks. Is there anyway to make the tracks flow smoothly together, and eliminate this pause? Thanks.

  • Long pauses between gapless playback tracks

    Hi,
I'm using iTunes 8.2 in Leopard PPC on an iMac G4. I'm experiencing annoying pauses between songs on albums that have gapless playback enabled. The pauses typically run for about 30 seconds, during which iTunes is totally unresponsive. I'm pretty sure this is caused due to the fact that my iTunes Library is located on a network share, but the strange thing is that it never happened before. It only started with iTunes 8.1 IIRC. Non gapless tracks cross fade perfectly, by the way. No noticeable delay there.
Anyone have an idea how I could fix this besides simply disabling gapless playback? TIA!

  • Unexpected Pauses between tracks & a disappearing Nano

I've had my Product Red nano for nearly a month now & its great, but every so often at the end of a track, the Nano will pause for about 5 seconds before starting to play the next track. Anyone else experience this? I need to know soon, If its defective so I can exchange it out for a different one.
I've also noticed that with the iTunes7 the Nano will sync up, and right afterwards 50% of the time will dissapear from iTunes. My 2G iPod & U2 iPod never have done that in iTunes 7. I called Apple support and they told me that it normal for the iPod to unmount after updating & remove itself from the Left Pane. I don't see how that's normal since it doesn't always disappear. The nano always disappears as soon as I connect any other iPod to the computer. But if one of the other iPods are connected & I plug in the Nano, I see them both until the Nano is updated then it disappears.
It really frustrating cause I will play several tracks & have to manually remove & reconnect the Nano to sync. Anyone have any ideas?

  • What is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?

what is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?
Can any explain to this question.please?

    Hello,
    Both are same.
SXMB_MONI is area menu which will contain all multiple transactions pertaining to monitoring.
SXMB_MONI contains some functions viz monitoring for Bridging, Archived Msgs, Job overview, persistence layer analysis.
SXI_monitor directly leads to the message monitoring for the IS, which is part of the SXMB_MONI.
SXI_MONITOR directly executes the monitoring report.

  • Continuous play between songs without a pause between tracks

I have a lot of "mixed" cds which I have uploaded into my ipod. The cd's feature many songs mixed together into one continuous flow. Each track is marked (1-?) so you may select a specific song instead of their only being one long track. The problem is that when uploaded into my itunes (and ipod), when the cd is played, there is a pause between the tracks (like on normal cds) which obviously breaks the flow of the music. Is there any way around this?

One other option that I've begun using to separate tracks in a cd with songs that flow from one to the next (Dream Theater anyone?) yet retain the artists vision is to use Apple's Chapter Tool and use this in conjunction with a tool like Scriptbuilder's . "Podcastenhancer". (There are other utilities but this is the one I personally use.)
What this does is allow you to rip the cd with all tracks joined and then add "Chapters" to the file to indicate where each track should start. Created for use in building podcasts (like the iTunes New Music Tuesday podcast) where you want the content broken up, the combination of these tools will help you separate your songs and add album artwork at the same time. What you end up with is one long continuous song file with the ability to jump from track to track on your iPod and select the appropriate "song" in iTunes from the chapter list that appears when the file is played.

  • Choosing between 720p and 1080p on Mini connected to Sony HDTV (1920x1080)

I have a late 2009 Mac Mini and a SONY HDTV and had no difficulties at all in hooking them up. I just connected the Mini Display Port to DVI connector which ships with the MAC Mini to a Belkin DVI to HDMI cable (also available from Apple Store) and connected the HDMI to my TV. I switched on the TV, selected the correct HDMI input, then switched on the Mac Mini and could see the picture immediately. I was missing the menu bar at the top so went to SYSTEM PREFERENCES and then DISPLAYS and the OPTIONS tab, and unselected OVERSCAN, and that gave me a perfect picture (slightly smaller than full screen but perfectly adequate as far as I'm concerned).
By default my resoluton was set at 1080p (presumably the Mac detected that the native resolution of my TV is 1080p). The DISPLAYS box shows a number of resolution with a little TV screen icon beside them, as if suggesting those resolutions for use with the Sony. It shows 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. There are also lots of others without TV icons beside them.
The only problem I found is that 1080p made it quite difficult to read text on my screen, even though it's not very far away from the sofa. My eyesight is very good but I couldn't read the screen comfortably when surfing the net or even when changing settings etc. I swiiched, therefore, to 720p and this produces a very comfortable size of text for using the MAC.
My question is whether it really makes such a big difference whether one chooses 720p or 1080p, as I really can't see much difference for playback of video from Hulu or other streaming websites. Even when I played a DVD movie from the Mac Mini superdrive, the difference in quality was hard to detect. I guess if I tried viewing Full 1080p HD material, there would be some difference, but how much of such material is available on the net anyway? I take it that switching between 720p and 1080p wouldn't cause any harm, if I chose to do so occasionally for watching any Full HD movies that I rip?
    Look forward to hearing views!

Hi- I also picked up a mini a week ago, and have it hooked up to my Sony HDTV via HDMI, just as you. The same thing happened the first time I connected the mini to my tv- with overscan on, the top and bottom of the screen were cut off.
The solution is to pick up your Sony remote, go to the onscreen menus, and make sure that 'full pixels' option is selected. When you do, the screen will be absolutely perfectly aligned.
I mention this because while in overscan mode, I find that the Sony makes an absolutely beautiful screen, and text is quite easy to read, albeit a bit small.

  • Print quality difference between iphoto and aperture...?

when ordering books, is there a print quality difference between using iPhoto and Aperture? or are they sent to the same lab?
it's possible i may have some setting wrong, but when i order a book using iphoto, i never really feel the quality is that great. it's good, i just feel it could be a lot better. the print quality sort of reminds me of newsprint, albeit high quality newsprint. similar sized prints made at home on my basic 3-in-1 printer look better.
    thanks...

Previews are what you view on your display. When you import a photo into Aperture (and I'm pretty sure iPhoto as well), your computer automatically generates a preview for quick viewing. The original images are stored in your library, but it is the preview that you see.
In Aperture, you are able to set the size and quality of these previews. When sharing photos between Aperture and iPhoto, the process is as follows:
Let's say that your images are stored in Aperture, but you also want to be able to view them in iPhoto without taking up too much room on your hard drive. Essentially, if you were to import the originals into iPhoto as well, you would be storing two exact, yet separate copies of the same image on your hard drive. As you are aware, with large images (whether JPEG's, and especially RAW) this would put quite a tax on your storage capacity after not too long.
So, you have your images in one or the other (in this case Aperture), but you want to play around with them in iPhoto. What you can do, is open iPhoto, go to the File menu and then select, Show Aperture Library. This will open a window with all of the contents of your Aperture Library. You can then drag any images you want into iPhoto . The only thing is, you are not dragging the original JPEG's, but rather, the previews of those images. If you have those previews set to a lower quality (again for capacity concerns), you will only have lower quality and lower detailed images in iPhoto. These images might not be ideal, or even suitable for printing high quality prints. The previews that you generate in Aperture though can be adjusted to be extremely high quality with no size limits.
My thinking was that since you mentioned Aperture, it sounded like you had experience with working with it and with ordering a photo book through Aperture. I guess you were saying that you ordered via iPhoto, weren't happy with the quality and were wondering if Aperture created books were better.
Anyway, if this is the case, I cannot answer that for you. I have never ordered a book through Aperture. If the quality of your images is good, you should be able to get a decent product no matter where you order it from. There is not doubt that the materials used and the print shop that does the work makes a difference, but if your images are good, you should still get a decent product through iPhoto. Perhaps iPhoto isn't the way to go though if you have had poor experiences with them.
If you haven't used Aperture yet, I would highly recommend it though aside from the photo book aspect of this thread. It is a stellar product.
    I hope this helps.
