Pause button on Crackle App doesn't go away on Toshiba Thrive

While attempting to watch a video on the Crackle App using the Toshiba Thrive, the pause button in the middle of the screen doesn't go away.  This started to occur after the tablet automatically downloaded the latest version of Crackle.  My tablet is still running the latest 3.2 version of Honeycomb.  I contacted Toshiba Customer Support thinking perhaps that I need to upgrade the tablet to ICS to solve this problem, but according to them, there is no upgrade currently available for this tablet which is an AT105, 8GB tablet.  Service station is empty and indicates no updates available when I try to update.  Customer Service couldn't help me with the Crackle App problem.  Is this a common problem with the Thrive?  Should I upgrade to ICS with this tablet if it becomes available?  I heard there were initially many problems with ICS running on the Thrive.  Perhaps it would be better to leave the OS as is?  Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the Crackle app?  Any thoughts?

I don't have any third party keyboard apps.  I may try reseting as a last resort.  I don't want to lose any settings I have unless it is necessary.  Is this a cure, or only a temporary fix?  Doc9 has given me a way to dismiss the keyboard at least which is as he says, the search one, not the regular one.
Appreciate the suggestions.  I'm using the keyboard now, so I may find out soon if the dismissal thing was good for more than one round of this.

    This is my second time with I web, having created and maintained a site for 2 years I know a lot about the program. The thing that kills me with this program is that even when you think you do something right, there's a chance it just may not work!
    My hyperlinks, for example (www.johndoing.com), don't seem work at all when I select "open in new window". In other words, the ones on the "calendar" page work fine because they don't open in a new window. The ones on the "what I do" page just don't work at all!!! I deleted them and re-linked them and re up-loaded them twice! I don't have any more time to spend on that part of the site!
    Then there is the "home" page. "welcome" and "biography" are both hyperlinks if you see both:

    You'll see what I mean. They work great in IWeb, there's nothing on top of them blocking them, and I'm at a total loss because they just don't work online.
    The other big problem with the site is that none of the quick time music players work! If they are on autoplay, they can't pause, if they are not on autoplay, they can't play.
    I'm very frustrated, I hope somebody can give me some advice.
    I uploaded using "cyberduck", I have the latest version of Iweb and OSX...

    you need to add a text in the body_layer (as in the Sounds page), size it, add the stroke and send it to the back.
    the qt play button works when you control click it, that's bypass z-index layering.

  • Store button in Music app doesn't work on Verizon iPhone 4 w/iOS 5?

    On my Verizon iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1, in the Music app, tapping the Store button does nothing. Also, there are several screens with links to the iTunes store. If I tap one of these links, I get this message (this time, from the Podcasts screen):

    itms://?action+podcasts&libraryid=com.apple.mobileipod
    What's up with this? Do I have to go through my iMac to purchase music to put on my iPhone? The Store button in the Music app on my iPad (also with iOS 5.0.1) works fine.

    Found problem in Settings > Restrictions. I had enabled Restrictions but not the individual items such as Installing Apps, iTunes, etc. All is well.

    I have an iPad mini, 16G, WiFi only. My operating system is iOS 7.0.3. My problem is that my App Store has stopped updating apps. And it's not like the update starts, but never finishes. It doesn't start at all. I touch the "Update" button, and the app opens instead of updating. I have 9 updates now, and none of them work. And the rest of the App Store is working fine. I have no problems searching for apps or downloading new apps. It's just the updates that don't work. I had thought that maybe I needed to update my software and then it would start working, but I can't. The available software update requires 5.9G of storage, and I only have 1.6G. I also thought that maybe there was not enough forage to update the apps, but if that was the case, then it would tell me that there is not enough storage instead of opening the app. Does anyone know how to fix this? I really need to update my apps!

    It sounds like you are unable to update your apps in the App store because they launch, rather than update. I would recommend starting by signing out of your Apple ID in Settings:
    iTunes: Using the iTunes Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Create New Apple ID on your device.
    Then quit all the running apps on your phone:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    The apps in the multitaskbar should appear like pages on the whole display. To close them, just swipe from the bottom to the top. you can select single apps for closing, when you swipe them like you would swipe your homescreens.

    I have found the solution for myself for the above.  I use a specific scripting program which is accessed by Control A. To pause it, you need to use Control B. not sure if this would work for any other application but it resolves my dilemma after hours of trying!

  • Universal dock remote control play/pause button doesn't work

    Hi all,
    Ok since updating to Ipod touch software v2.2 I have been unable to use the play/pause button on my Apple universal dock remote, whilst my iPod touch is in the dock.
    The volume controls and track next and previous buttons commands on the remote control work just fine.
    I have tried unpairing and then pairing the remote with the universal dock but same issue. I thought that maybe the play/pause key was possibly broken. However I tested the remote on my iMac and play/pause button works fine in front row.
    Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Strange thing is mine started working again last night and is still working. Seems the problem went away as it originally appeared. I hope it doesn't stop working.
    I will mark this thread as unanswered until we can figure why the remote, universal dock and iPod touch are behaving this way.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    My weather channel app doesn't work and freezes my phone.  I've tried closing the app.  Also tried deleting and readding it.  All my other apps work.

    Try this:
    Make sure your iPhone is fully updated.
    Restart your iPhone
    Do NOT open the app, just delete it
    Reset your iPhone (hold down sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously until you see an apple logo, then release the buttons)
    Readd the app
    Open the app and test.
    If that doesn't resolve the issue, then it may be an issue with the app itself and you might have to contact the app's developer.

    This is what I did:
    1a. Podcasts app deleted from the iPhone.  Doesn't show on any of the home screens on the iPhone.  The button next to the Podcasts app in iTunes says "Install".  Synching the iPhone with iTunes generates the message "The Podcasts app is not installed on 'Maggie's iPhone 4', so you will not be able to play podcasts on your iPhone"
    1b. Clicked the "Install" button for the Podcasts app in iTunes.  It now displays "Will Install"
    1c. Clicked "Apply" in iTunes to start iPhone sync.  iTunes shows "Copying 1 of 1: Podcasts"
    1d. Podcasts app icon is shown correctly on one of the iPhone home screens.  Previously, the Podcast app icon was a generic placeholder icon. 
    1e. Resyched iPhone and launched Podcasts app.  Everything now working properly.
    2 & 3. Didn't have to perform these steps, which implies that earlier suggestions contributed to the fix.

  • Mini's Play/Pause Button

    Hello I was wondering if anyone else has had such an issue. It's not a major problem but it does bug me sometimes.
    I have a 2nd generation Ipod Mini that's still under warranty. I usually turn off my Ipod by pressing and holding down the play/pause button. Lately however, I've noticed that this doesn't always work. Somtimes I have to try a couple of times for the Ipod to recognize that I'm actually holding down that key for it to turn off and not just pressing it to enable pause or play mode. The problem isn't always consistent but this was definitely not an issue before.
    Now my question is, is it really worth it to send it back to Apple? I understand that all Mini's that they send back now are refurbished..but is it worse to get a refurbished one back? Also, my warranty is expiring in November. If I do send my current Ipod back and get another one back does my warranty still only go until November? What if something is wrong (or goes wrong) with the one that they send back after the November deadline? Am I screwed?

    Try this:
    when you go to turn it off, don't touch any buttons for a couple seconds before hand. I seem to have the same problem with my nano and I think the problem is just that the processor can't keep up.

    Yes, another iPod Classic's play/pause button is messed up. I got it in March '09 so I believe that's over the 90 day fixing range. I've tried resetting, holding the menu & center button, & all of the suggestions on the Mac site, but it still won't work.
    Any ideas what could be wrong & how to fix it?

    Besides resetting the iPod, have you attempted restoring it? You can do that by clicking the "Restore" button on the the iPod's Summary page in iTunes.
    Assuming that doesn't work, you can check your [warranty status|https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do] to see if you are still covered for hardware repair. I doubt any 30GB iPods are still under warranty, since they were discontinued over two years ago, but you said you got it in March 2009 - did you purchase it used?
    Whether it's under warranty or not, you can always make a Genius Bar appointment at your closest Apple Store and see if they have any other suggestions, free of charge. If it's a hardware problem, they can replace the iPod for you, but there would be a charge to do so if you're out of warranty.

  • How to pause/stop updates from App Store on iPad?

    Currently, I am on holiday making use of a prepaid mobile Internet connection. By accident I pushed the button "Update All" in the App Store.
    Then it started downloading 18 apps and consumed more then many MB's in just a few minutes. My prepaid Internet is just 2GB for a month.
    Now because of this within 2 days I consumed 1.1GB. After my error by pushing the wrong button, it could not be stopped what so ever.
    This is very annoying and cost me in 10 mins at least 20 Euro's. Why does Apple not support a pause/stop button? Or did they just forget to include this button in their App Store app? I was pretty up-sat. You recognize you pushed to wrong button, you see all the apps starting downloading loads of MB's. but you cannot find any button to stop it. You can't do anything about it and just let it happen and hope the damage is not too high.
    Please Apple, develop a pause/resume/cancel button in the App Store when someone accidentally pushed the "update all" button !!!!
