Pause for time workflows

Hey guys,
Heres the objective. I am trying to make a list where when the items aren't updated within 14 days it sends an email to the person tied to that item. My thought on implimenting this was to run a workflow on creation/ modification that pauses for 14 days
then emails the person. The problem is that if they modify the item, I want that timer to restart. It would run another workflow... but it wouldn't exactly stop the old workflow would it? Also is having 100 or so items with workflows in pause state a bad idea?

unfortunately you wont be able to accomplish this in a OOTB workflow, you have two options:
write a custom timer job
write a state machine workflow
both requires coding skills.
this have been discussed in many forums,
here and
here.. many others
good luck

  • Just downloaded the 7.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. Does this use up data and how can I get it to stop pausing for periods of time?

    Just downloaded the 7.1.1 IOS update and I'm able to stream my music from the cloud. I'm wondering how I can stream more than just my purchased music?And does this use up data? Also, how can I get playback to stop pausing for periods of time? It is a wifi thing??

    If streaming music when connected to your carrier's cellular network, it uses cellular data.
    Only the music you purchased from the iTunes Store can be streamed unless you have purchased iTunes Match.
    If there is a slow down at the server where the music is stored or high traffic, steaming can be paused. You can also download a song from the iTunes Store cloud to your iPhone so it doesn't need to be steamed.

    In my iphone6 finger sensor not working and some time iphone 6 screen also hang/pause  for few seconds.

  • Automator pause for random time

    Okay, I am trying to set up a tethered camera type of deal that randomly takes pictures every 5-15 seconds.
    Question #1
    Is there a way to specify the random number variable to remain within a range of specific numbers, so for example it will only generate numbers 5-15?
    Question #2
    How can I take the number in the random variable and use it as the time in the "Pause" function?
    Question #3
    Or is there some easier way to accomplish what I am trying to do?
    If I get this working, it'll basically be...
    Take Picture>
    Pause (here is where I need the help!)>
    Loop for 15 minutes then end>
    Additional Loop, this time asking if you want to start from the beginning>
    Download Pictures>
    Import Files into iPhoto.
    Any help is much appreciated

    to pause for a random time as you want use the following apple script action instead of the pause action
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #ADD8E6;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    on run {input, parameters}
    set x to random number from 5 to 15
    delay x
    return input
    end run</pre>

  • Building a PC for faster rendering and real time workflow

    Hi guys - need help if possible since I'm not into hardware all that much...
    I have a few problems when using Premiere Pro CS6 which resulted in thinking of buying a new computer:
    1) Exporting a one hour full HD video takes about 23 hours (no effects except color correction)
    2) When making a color correction it is impossible to preview it on timeline even in 1/4 resolution - video starts to jitter so I have to export it to realize that some scenes are too dark, too light, too something, etc. And, as said, it takes around 23 hours... So this makes it 46 hours...
    3) Using a multicam view is extremely jerky and so - pretty useless
    All in all - I need a computer with a lot more muscle. So, I went through many forum discussions, read on the Internet, blah, blah.. and decided to build a PC rather than MAC since I get more "bang for the buck" when considering the same budget (around 3000$). Speaking of this, please consider that I live in Croatia and 3K$ here are not the same as in USA or many parts of Europe - it's a little more pricey here...
    So, here's the setup so review it if you're into hardware and CS6 compatibility/optimization and please comment/advise, having in mind the problems I have previously stated out.
    Just one thing - please, please, please don't get too complicated because I really don't know that much about hardwareing and I'm pretty fed up with exploring hundreds and hundreds of posts, opinions, forums, etc....
    Make it simple - is it a good choice or not for CS6 workflow and which component should I potentially change for a better one (but staying in budget).
    I use Premiere for editing full HD videos (sometimes I get nearly 500GB of raw material) and I frequently use After Effects for various animations.
    Thanks a lot!

    Intel core i7 3930K (3.2 GHz, hex, 1.5 MB, 12 MB, Socket 2011, box),  good choice
    MSI x79-GD65-8D, consider Asus
    Asus GTX 690 - 4GB, wrong choice. a 670 is more than enough
    Kingmax SSD 60BG (for windows and cs6), consider a Corsair PP 128 GB
    Seagate HDD Desktop Barracuda 7200 (3TB, 64MB, Sata III-600), make that 3 or 4 disks
    Corsair 32GB, DDR3, 1600 MHz, as long as they are max 1.5V and 8 GB sticks
    Spire 750W Black Eagle, better look at Seasonic or Corsair Gold+ rated PSU's and maybe increase W to 850.

  • FCP7 PAUSES EVERY TIME BEFORE PLAYBACK!!!

    Hey guys,
    My FCP7 just recently started acting a little weird. Almost every time I press play it will pause for a few seconds as it spins the color wheel and then start playing. The weird thing is that it does that not just when I press play but pretty much all the time - for example, if I take a 1 min break and come back into final cut, no matter where I click it gives me the color wheel. If I switch to another application and then back to FCP - I get the color wheel....
    It didn't do that before!! I haven't changed anything in my workflow, I'm always using prores files, I have plenty of space on my hard drives. I even tried uninstalling some additional plugins that I thought might be slowing it down but still nothing.
    Has anyone ever had that happen to them before? What did you do to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    I've experienced this kind of behavior in the past on older systems and it had more to do very long sequences and not enough processing power.
    The "take a break" issue makes me wonder whether maybe the OS is struggling as well. You might want to open Activity Monitor and see what's happening as you go back to work.
    I'd start with normal "system hygiene" (repair permissions, run Disk Warrior, restart system, maybe get into Single User mode and fsck -fy) in case you've left the system sleeping between sessions.
    Good luck!

  • Pause for user click missing after Seamless Tabbing fix.

    I am upgrading a project from Captivate 5.0 to 5.5. Two of the lessons that worked fine in 5.0 have problems in 5.5. Both lessons use the Tab key to move from field to field in a data row and then the Enter key to calculate at the end of the row. This worked fine in 5.0. In 5.5, pressing Tab caused jump to browser address window. I searched blog and found following solution to add:    so.addParam(seamlessTabbing:, :false:);        to the htm file generated when publishing the file. This is not a desirable solution for long term course maintenance, but it did work. Unfortunately a new problem then appeared. The project moved ahead without waiting for user input in the simulation exercises.
    For slides with click boxes using Tab shortcut key and no other interactive objects, the movie just skipped ahead without waiting for user click. I would like the project to pause until the user presses the Tab key and then move to the next slide.  The properties for the click boxes are:
    Action:
    On success: Go to the next slide
    Attempts: Infinite
    Allow mouse click - yes
    Shortcut: Tab
    Options:
    Captions: Failure only
    Others: Pause for Success/Failure Captions and Pause project until user clicks
    Timing:
    Display for: Rest of slide
    Appear after 0 seconds   (I have played around with this setting, but it does not seem to make a difference.)
    For slides with Text Entry, the failure captions display before the user has a chance to input anything. Sometimes the captions flash several times at random. I would like the failure captions to only display when the user  enters an answer that does not match the stored answers.  The properties for the text entry boxes are:
    General:
    Default text: blank
    Retain Text - checked
    Validate User Input - checked
    Var Associated: Text Entry Box ## (## changes from slide to slide)
    On Focus Lost: No action
    Action:
    On Success: Go to the next slide
    Attempts: Infinite
    Shortcut: Tab
    Options:
    Captions: Failure only
    Others: Pause for Success/Failure Captions
    Timing:
    Display For: Rest of slide
    Appear after: 0.5 sec.
    Pause After: 1 sec
    Transition: No Transition
    To test whether it was something I was doing in the editing, I went back to the original 5.0 version of the lesson and imported into 5.5 again and published without doing any editing. The lessons that worked fine in 5.0 did not work in 5.5. Then I tried replacing all the click boxes with new ones created in 5.5. That did not work. I tried adjusting the timing. That did not work. For the text entry boxes, I tried using Show Button, creating transparent button with Tab shortcut. That did not work. Several of these suggestions were ones that I found elsewhere in the Blog with similar but not identical problems. I never found a problem that combined the seamlessTabbing with the missed pauses.
    I am puzzled and frustrated that these lessons that worked fine in 5.0 don't work in 5.5. Our primary edit is only to update the screen images and add a few new fields. I would often reposition an object on the slide, but not change its properties. Since most of the lessons are working fine in 5.5 and only these two that heavily use the Tab key are not working in 5.5. I don't really have the option of going back to 5.0. I need to put them in an aggregator and they all need to be the same version.
    Is there a patch or a quick fix? Also, can the patch to the htm file be built in or is that what is causing the problem? For future course maintenance, it will be complicated to have to treat these two lessons specially. Also, we usually link to the swf file and not the htm file. Our users often use browsers other than Internet Explorer.
    Any suggestions?   Thanks in advance.

    It would seem Intego Virus Barrier X6 has an intermittent habit of putting the IP address of Apple TV into the Blocked Addresses list despite having checked the 'Trust Apple TV' box and inputting the address into the Trusted Addresses list. Over the course of less than a year this has occurred approximately 4 times to me. My last variation on getting to the root of the problem was to lock the settings with the padlock. I will monitor the situation and should it happen one more time will notify Intego of this 'bug'.

  • WAITING FOR TIME CODE....again

    Hi, when I try to capture from DV device, the capture window appears "PREVIEW DISABLED" I can remote the dv device, mark time code in or out, play tape, pause tape, the time code in the capture window run and is the same taht the tape, but when I do batch capture, cpture clip or capture now, the preview window of catpure says : "WAITING FOR TIME CODE" "DEVICE MUST IN VTR MODE WHEN DEVICE CONTROL IS ENABLED" and when I abort the capture this message apperas: "THIS OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED AS THERE IS NO VIDEO", Quicktime pro is unabled to capture too, but IMOVIE capture without this problem. I download the firewire sdk from developer connection of apple and use AVCVideo Cap, and no problem for cature, so , my Firewire or dv devices are ok, with DVHSCap I capture PRO HD JVC very well.
    Resume , I think there is a problem with quicktime and DV format, My Ibook G4 with FCP 5.0.1 capture from DV devices OK, without problem. If anybody resolved this please comment with us. I work to day with FCP 6.0.4 and quicktime 7.5 and Mac os 10.4.11 and 10.5.4 the problem is afected my PowerPC G5 and my powerbook intel. Another point of interest is that this problem is RANDOM, some times I can capture from DV devices in the first time, some times I can't capture.

    Hey AL
    How ya doin buddy?
    "Either way, try an Easy Setup>DV Converter, to match your video standard (Pal or NTSC)."
    Yep - did that
    Yes actually my older Sony TVR-310 camcorder IS a digital unit which can also play back analog tapes.
    As I'm getting my way around now in FCE, I'm coming to some conclusions in regard to FCE's capture capability.
    First let me say that I've also tried capturing some footage in FCE with my other Sony TVR-950, and have had dropped frames, and also breaks in time code.
    I thought dropped frames were strictly a PC issue?
    Anyway, it appears to me that FCE is VERY sensitive to time code issues NO matter which camera is in the chain.
    In fact, I've also read here where folks have a lot of trouble with their Canon GL2's as well. Some of you have even suggested to do your captures in a cheaper Mini DV, or a clam-shell playback machine. This conserves the heads on your GL2 as well.
    But why would FCE do better in regard to capturing and time code, with a cheaper Mini DV Camcorder? Perhaps I'm missing something here?
    Perhaps iMovie doesn't care about the same issue?
    Now my main question is:
    Ok I'll use iMovie6 HD (tried and true), to capture ALL my footage and just save the DV files to be edited later (imported) into FCE.
    Does this sound like a viable solution to FCE's time code issues?
    Will my iMovie captures be JUST AS GOOD as if they were done in FCE?
    Thanx so much guys!
    Mike

  • Mac freezes/pauses every time I do anything

    Basically 7 times out of 10 that I go to do any action (opening a new page, changing song, opening a folder) the mac pauses for any where from 1 - 10 seconds and the spinning ball comes up. This has gradually been getting worse over the past month. I've tried updates and the new firmware with no real change.
    Its incredibly annoying, any idea what's wrong or how this could be fixed?

    You also might consider adding some more RAM in there. 2GB isn't much in today's Macs. Once your memory starts running low and you start paging out, you will slow down considerably. I would suggest a min of 4GB.

  • Adobe Photoshop for Video Workflows: New Features and Timesaving Tips | Adobe at NAB 2013 | Adobe TV

    See the latest features in Adobe Photoshop and learn time saving techniques video editors and motion graphics designers can benefit from when using Photoshop for video workflows.

    Great tutorial. When I build a timelapse I start by importing the image sequence and then make the proper frame size on export. Is there a benefit to creating a project at the proper frame size and rate first?
    Thanks

  • In My car, the music won't pause for phone call in iOS 8.3

    I'm having a strange and potentially awkward new bug when I have my iPhone 5S connected to my car via Bluetooth. I just upgraded to iOS 8.3, and all of a sudden my music won't pause for an incoming phone call. Is anyone else experiencing this?

    I've spent over 6 hours troubleshooting this issue with Apple,  AT&T Advanced Business Technical Support,  and I just got back from another 2 hour session with a top Apple Genius expert at my local Apple Store a few minutes ago.
    There does not seem to be any resolution with the 8.3 iOS software on my iPhone 6 Plus!  They gave me a brand new phone and it still exhibited the problem - Call forwarding does not work. They tried to push the issue off on AT&T, but then they could not produce a single phone at the Apple store running iOS 8.3 that showed call forwarding working.
    I hope Apple releases a fix of this soon!  It's critical to my daily business as I need to turn call forwarding off/on several times a day due to poor coverage or no coverage depending on my physical location.
    If someone has any suggestions please help!

  • TV picture Pauses for a split second

    Every 30 seconds or so my TV pictiure pauses for a very brief 1/2 second. Anyone seeing this?

    I contacted a rep as well and they said a fix will be sent out the 15th of this month.  She stated that she could send out a fix but it only works 50% of the time and from the other 50% the DVR will not reboot sometimes.  So I'm dealing with it until this fix supposidly comes out on the 15th of March.  I switched from DirecTV about 3 weeks ago because I was tired of the interuptions do to the slightest bit of rain and I have had the freezing problem with Verizon since the first day.
