Paused a book download and now won't resume
I accidentally paused the download of a book and now I can't get it off pause. Any ideas are appreciated!
I figured it out. I just held down the "sleep" button on the top of my iPad until it shut down, the turned it on again. Book was there when it powered back up :)

Apps didn't fully download and now won't open or continue downloading.
I tried to update a couple of apps on my iPhone 4s and didn't have enough internet so it paused. Now I can't open the two apps (Istagram and TED) and when I try to continue downloading it says it's unable to. If I delete and reinstall the app I'll also be deleting the data, and for Instagram that's not something I really want to do. Troubleshooting advice? How do I restart an app??
Thanks for replying! All of the other apps that needed updating updated, but Instagram and TED stayed greyed out and didnt update. When I tap it it says "Unable to Download Application: "Instagram" could not be downloaded at this time. :-(
When I look in the App Store--Updates is says INSTALLING and it's also greyed out and I can't select anything. -

Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name.

While updating the firmware Update, i disrubted the download and now my macbook won't start up! Any suggestions on how to fix it? i only see a black screen and when i press the power button i hear the noise that it would make if it was going to start up. But i only see black.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. If still nothing, connect to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, iPhone may turn ON itself. If still nothing keep on charger and Reset. It can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

Re-installed 2.1.4 and now won't open
I recently had to a fresh OS install on my mac book pro and now after re-installing Aperture 2.1.4 whenever I go to open Aperture I start to get the app to open (see it start in the dock) and then it closes. This happens in about a second or so. I believe it to be a problem with the library but don't know how to fix it, any ideas?
I've tried that (discovered searching for Aperture won't open discussions).
This is on 10.4.11 if that matters.
I am wondering if I go back to my Aperture 1.5 install disk if the 2.1.4 update would get me back to Aperture 2 (bought aperture 2 as a download and can't find the back up disk for that version) -

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:

This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised the value of Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

ThanksMy previous answer still stands: Restore from your backup taken before you upgaded to Mountain Lion. For example, a Time Machine backup, a Carbon Copy Cloner clone, or a commercial backup service. Not the disk that came with your computer (which is how I read "OS back up disk").
If you reinstall the original OS from the disk that came with your computer, it will wipe out everything on your computer. (The installer won't install an older OS over a newer one, so you'll have to wipe the disk first.) Then you'll need to restore your data from your backup and reinstall applications like Word. -
I just tried updating ITunes to the new version and it will not completely download and now I get an error message of MSVCR80. Is there a problem with the new iTunes version?

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Although my apple ipod is 4g it seems to quit accepting the cd's I am trying to download and now will not allow the remaining 2.5gb available on my ipod.
Can anybody out there give me any clues as to why my apple ipod won't allow my remaining 2.5 gb of ipod space to download anymore of my cd's. I am using Itunes library which also doesn't seem to accept the cd's even though they are legitimate in every way and are not homemade.- Unjailbroken iPod never showed % battery. Just the icon.

I am having trouble with iMessage being activated. It has worked up until yesterday and now won't activate and is saying no address in the send and receive section. My number is there but not ticked. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have shut down my phone, but still no luck!
iMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.
