Paused Mavericks download a problem?

Will a paused Mavericks download affect a subsequent disk copy I wish to quickly make with Super Duper!?
Just read the problems encountered. Apology for this naiive question!

The copy will also have a paused download.
It shouldn't be a problem to resume the download, or delete it and start anew.
Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name.

OS X Mavericks download has paused and will not restart. How can I get it to restart?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, see if the download is paused and if you can resume it. To do so, open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and press "Resume" next to OS X Mavericks.
If the download does not carry on, I would recommend you to restart and start the download all over again.

• OS X Mavericks has paused during download.

I am attempting to download Mavericks on the my MacBook Pro. I am currently running 10.6.8. The icon in the doc indicated that the download was waiting. This lasted for more than 15 min so I suspected that the process was hung. I restarted my computer and now the icon indicates that the download has paused. I am not sure how the "un" pause the download.

I read the helpful hints: Issue with Mavericks download and resolved my issue by holding the cursor over the dock icon. This presented a pop up where I clicked on "resume". All is well.

• My OS X Mavericks Download doesn't start! Why??

hi, i want to download os x mavericks but every time i click on the button an error occurs!
Can someone help?

Can't go, 300km away from a decent connection.
Is not that bad. I could download 17gb of diablo 3 wthout any problem. When the connection went down, it just paused and restarted automatically.
The issue is, App Store is NOT resuming the download. It doesn't matter how much i have downloaded, if it pauses, it crashes, and starts from the beginning. It doesn't matter if the net is going fast. Pause = download crash.
I know this is not normal behaviour of app store since with my ipad, iphone and other stuff i could download big files, paused, resume, no problem. Just this macbook pro, with OS X Maverick it's not downloading
My problem is NOT beeing able to resume download
thanks again bro, really nice having you following up this topic

• Recover apps that i deleted from app list - it was paused during download

Hi, I had just updated to OSX 10.9 (works great) but had a Mavericks download ready for installation in my App Store "Purchases" list. I started the download in my purchases list because I wanted to create a USB startup disk of Mavericks.
What I then did was pasue the download to check on things and when I wanted to continue with the download I accidently deleted the puchased app of Mavericks from my App List. The OSX logo in Launchpad is shaded and showing that it is "Paused".
Can you please let me know how I can get the Mavericks download back into my Purchased List so I can continue with the download "or" tell me how I can remove the pasued item in Launchpad.
Thanks,

Found answer to my own problem. Went into App Store account and was able to unhide the application I accidently deleted. Worked just fine

I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it. There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab. I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted. It didn't fix the problem. Any more ideas?

• I've Firefox 6.0.2 and Mac OS X Lion. I can't 'Pause' any download in 'Downloads' window..!

Hi!
My system is:- Mac Pro (Early 2009)
2 x 2.26 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processors
Memory: 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB
Operating System: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1
I am using the latest firefox 6.0.2. Problem is that while downloading, if I try to pause a download in 'Downloads' window, then nothing is happening and download still goes-on. If I do cancel, then it cancels the download..!
Please provide some solution.
Thanks.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• Mavericks download doesn't work

I'm on OS 10.6.8 now, trying to update to Mavericks.
However, the download doesn't seem to work: for some reason it paused, and I can't get it to start again. Right clicking the Dock icon and hitting "Resume" or "Cancel download" doesn't do anything. The only thing I can do is drag the icon off the Dock, after which it disappears. However, when I try to retry downloading it, clicking "Install App" in the App Store doesn't do anything.
I've tried logging out and in, and even restarting, but that doesn't fix it. However, when I do log in, the Mavericks download icon appears in the Dock, saying "Paused".
I also noticed in the Activity Monitor that "kernel_task" uses most of my CPU all the time, even when I have no programs open. This never happened before I tried installing Mavericks. Could it be related?
Please help!

Here's a screenshot of the Mavericks download, stuck on Pause.

• How to delete paused application download from iphone

Hi,
Can anybody please let me know how to delete paused application download from iphone.

Hello, flowerpet1. Thank you for your reply. Interestingly, your instructions worked on my iPad Mini, where I had the same problem. The update module was listed under "Usage" and I was able to delete it. Although I still have the red circle with "1" in it over my Settings icon on the home page, the status under Software Update is now "Download and Install" instead of just "Install". Also, the available storage on the Usage screen has increased by about 4.2 GB.
On my iPhone 5S, however, I'm not quite sure what the situation is now. The IOS 8 update module does not show under "Usage". However, the status under Software Update has also changed to "Download and Install" instead of just "Install"--but without my doing anything to the phone. Maybe the update file was removed from the phone when I removed it from the iPad. I don't remember what the available storage was before, so I don't know if I recouped any space.
Anyway, your reply was a big help. Thank you very much.

• After Mavericks download iCal doesn't work, still - sending calendars to server.... nothing more, please help what to do Tx

after Mavericks download iCal doesn't work, still - sending calendars to server.... nothing more, please help what to do Tx

I had some initial problems with iCal too. At least for me deleting the prefs file solve them. The file is: com.apple.iCal.plist and it is in your Library/Preferences folder
The other thing your problem appears to be connecting to the server is to quit Calendar and then open System Preferences, select the Internet Accounts, and toggle off the Calendar checkmark of each of your calendar accounts. Quit System Preferences. Start the calendar. Since you've turned off the calendar server accounts there should be no beachballing. Quit, return to System preferences and re-enable one calendar account at a time. (This assumes that you are using more than iCloud Calendar) and then start Calendar again. And finally, for one particularly obnoxious iCloud issue I wound up deleting my iCloud account in System Preferences and then recreating it. (Same account name, etc, I just killed the account on my computer so I could start out with fresh preferences).

• Downloading Application Problem

I recently tried to download an app on my iphone 4.
3 quarters of the way through the download, the download suddenly froze. At this point I couldn't pause the download nor could I delete the application, so i restarted my phone.
I still could not pause the download, but now I could delete it, so I did and tried to re-install the app.
The problem is that in the app store now, the app is still recorded to be on my phone because in place of the download button, a button labelled "open" was there. This button does not do anything as I actually do not have the app on my phone.
Any fixes?

Sounds like the permissions on your /Applications folder are messed up.
Go to /Applications and "Get Info" (command-i) on that folder. In the window that appears go to "Ownership & Permissions" and set it so
system = read & write
admin = read & write
everyone = read only

• Mavericks download stuck at 995mb

Tried to upgrade to Mavericks on 27" iMac Late 2009; download stuck at 995MB. Tried rebooting , pausing/resuming, standing on my head, coffee etc to no avail. Worked for my MacBook Pro and my 21.5" iMac but not the 27". How do I blow away the part download and start again?

Ok, this is definitely an ISP issue. This can be solved by either using a VPN, or changing to a different ISP.
If you have no paid VPN service, use the free version of Hotspot Shield. Follow the steps below to set it up:
Pause the download and exit App Store.
Go to Activity Monitor and quit "storeagent" app, just to be sure.
Download Hotspot Shield for Mac.
Connect to it and launch App Store.
Resume the download, now it should work.
At this point, you can either download the entire OS X Mavericks update over Hotspot Shield, or go back to using your own connection. I don't recommend downloading over Hotspot Shield because it's slow, but if you can wait and don't wish to get stuck again, feel free to do so; Hotspot Shield has no bandwidth limit.
To go back to downloading OS X Mavericks using your own connection:
Pause the download and exit App Store.
Go to Activity Monitor and quit "storeagent" app, just to be sure.
Disconnect/exit Hotspot Shield.
Launch App Store, resume the download.
If you get stuck again, follow the steps over. Note that killing the storeagent is optional, it's the process which handles App Store downloads. I just added that to ensure the download isn't going on in the background after it is paused, which is known to happen in some cases.
Enjoy your Mavericks

• Why did my pages and Safari not update with the Maverick download?

After the Maverick download: My Safari looks and acts the same. My pages look and act the same. My Iphoto icon has changed , but there are no changes in I photo either, though I was asked to update the library.
The only thing I see differnt after the Maverick download is I have maps.
Was that it? The discription of Maverick sounds much differnt.

We are all busy with many other problems in Pages 5.
Unless you have found some real reason to use Pages 5 just go back to Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications folder, until Apple sorts this all out.
