Pausing audio until button is pressed

I have a project that has a series of pdf's open in a slide.
The slide pauses fine when the button is reached and the project
pauses until it is pressed, but the audio continues to play. I want
the audio to pause too. I know i can chop up the audio and make the
pdf come up at end of each slide, but in my project slide i have a
lot of pdf's come up and the slide is just about the pdf's.please
help
** The pdf's open in a new window.

Hi rbthakur and welcome to this little slot in cyberspace
Just check the following and see if it works for you:
All click boxes and buttons have a a selection option "Stop
slide audio when clicked" in the "Options" tab of the properties
dialogue box that, when selected, will stop the slide audio.

  • Dvr will not pause when the button is pressed.

I have been a fios customer for a couple of months. However I find that there are quirks that are annoying me. When I press the Pause button the DVR does not pause immediately. I have to press it numerous times and even then it is partially successful. Is there a fix for this?

There is nothing that they can do remotely to affect your remote. Do you have more than one box in the house? If yes, try the remote in another room. All Verizon remotes will work all Verizon STB's. (they are just programmed for specific tv's for the volume/power). If the remote works in another room, the problems no with the remote. If it doesnt work, then I would try new batteries (no telling how long those "phillips" batteries have been sitting).
If you eliminate the remote. Then the next thing to check is.. Do you have a Plasma screen in the room with the DVR? If yes, make sure that your STB is at least 2 feet from the screen. Otherwise the Plasma screen may interfear with remote functions.
As for the DVR not working. What is is not doing?

  • Some Songs On iPod Don't Display Artwork Until Center Button is Pressed

Okay, I just got my computer revamped so I had my itunes library file and all the songs saved but I reinstalled iTunes. Now some songs on my ipod are acting weired by displaying all the song info to the left (the firmware calls for them to center when there is no album artwork) and when the center button is pressed twice you see the album artwork as if nothing was wrong. Now no one dare say restore it because that is my backup plan if all else fails. Here are Blured but recognizable pictures of the problem

The only thing that does fix it is removing the artwork, syncing, adding the artwork, and syncing again. Obviously that's a pain because I have to go into "get info", clicking "artwork" and removing it from there one by one because the feature "Clear Downloaded Artwork" seems to not work.

  • Vocal backing track stop playing when the cycle button is pressed.

I am running the vocal backing track in Mainstage2.  I have various markers throughout the backing track, however, when I press the cycle button, the backing track stop playing and reverts to the start of the track.  Anyone know why this is happening?

    Hello,
Will try to explain how I understand the way a Question slide works:
on the timeline you see a pausing point, this will be used twice
when the user clicks on the Submit button, playhead is not released but the Success/Failure captions pop up, but you cannot control anything else such like stopping the audio
when the user presses Y or clicks on the slide, the playhead is released, the Success/Failure actions are executed and (eventually - unless you changed navigation by those actions) the user is navigated to the next slide
First thing you can change is the pausing point of the question slide, but once an audio clip started playing, this will continue and thus not solve your problem.
It is only in that second step that you can do more customising by changing the Success/Failure actions, perhaps to an advanced action.
Are you using this default behavior? And the audio is attached to what: to the slide or to the text captions for the questions and to the Success/Failure captions for the answers?
I think the solution will be to skip the first step, by deleting the Success/Failure captions. When clicking on the Submit button in that situation, the Success/Failure actions will be executed immediately (and the playhead will be released). Attach the audio for the questions to an invisible object (rectangle without fill or stroke), that you hide with the advanced actions to be triggered by Success/Failure and show custom Text Captions for Success/Failure with audio attached to them. Because the playhead is now released, you will either have to time correctly so that the user will have to listen to the audio totally or to insert a static button widget that pauses the slide. But here I'm a bit stuck because I do not know which version of CP you are using, please?
I blogged about using audio objects a while ago, but did not offer detailed explanations because no one asked for it until now. Have a look:

Yes, I did try with Xperia Z3 and it works fine for me. If you have tried safe mode, you should perhaps try a software repair on your phone via PC Companion to see if this can help:
    http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/
In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

  • Is it possible to save a data portion starting from when a "save" button is pressed?

    Hi,
The below attached vi acquires data from a sensor. The sensor signal output can be reset to zero and the data saved into a file. However, the saved data comprises the data portion starting from when the vi starts running until the "stop" button is pressed. Is it possible to save the data portion starting from when the "save" button until the "stop" button are pressed?

  • Why does Satellite Pro A300 not start when the power button is pressed?

Suddenly my new Satellite Pro A300 will not start correctly when the power button is pressed. The situation is this: When I press the power button the Toshiba opening picture (Leading Innovation) appears and disappers quickly. Then there is a black screen for about 30 seconds. Then there is a rectangular frame with the text Microsoft Corporation underneath. And nothing happens however long I wait.
In order to get on with the starting proces I then shut down the computer by pressing down the power button until the computer stops. ("The hard way to shut down")
Now I press the power button shortly to turn on the computer. Then the computer starts normally with the Toshiba opening picture and after a few seconds I am asked to open the computer in safe mode or in normal mode. I now choose to open in normal mode and the computer opens normally and is ready to work.
What shall I do to get a normal start procedure?

When notebook starts normally (after choosing normal mode) shut down your notebook properly using START > Shut down option. Next start should be normal.
When the OS is switched down on irregular way you will be always asked how to start it again (safe or normal mode).
The same happen on my Satellite A300.

  • Draw chart only after submit button is pressed.

I have a page 2 date picker's, a submit button and a line chart. How do I prevent the line chart from being drawn until the submit button is pressed?

    Hi,
You can e.g. set region conditionally by request.
Add your page branch request value and use that in region condition.

  • To check values in a subscreen when back button is pressed

    Hi,
I have few fields in a subscreen and if user changes any of the values and presses 'back' button in the main screen, then I need to give a pop up asking whether to save or not.
But the problem is, the processing wont go to the PAI of the subscreen unless and until any button is pressed.
I have put all the fields in chain-endchain and also have written a module on chain-request. But it doesn't work.
    What do I do?
    Thanks in advance,
    Hema.

    Hi
The PAI of subscreen is in the PAI of mainn screen:
    PROCESS PBO
    -> MODULE for main screen
CALL SUBSCREEN SUBSCREEN INCLUDING <PROG> <SCREEN>.
    PROCESS PAI
    CALL SUBSCREEN SUBSCREEN.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND.
So if you have a flow like that the system before trigger the PAI of subscreen and after the PAI of main screen. So now before triggering user-comand, the system run PAI of subscreen.
If you insert the fields in the CHAIN/ENDCHAIN you could have some problem, because the fields of subscreen can't be inseterted in the chain control of fields of main screen.

  • How to stop video/animation when the back/continue button is pressed

hi! we are currently playing some of our videos via SWF. the swfs are placed on the slides and automatically play. Next and back buttons were added for navigation. One thing though is that when the next and back buttons are pressed to go to the next slide(even when the video in the swf is not yet finished) the swf still plays in the background. how do you set the triggers for this? thanks!
by the way, we used flvplayback component in flash as3. so flash publishes both the flvplayback skin swf and the main swf of the FLA file. Then on Captivate's side, after zipping, we included the swf files there

Yup, in the swf animation I placed some lines of code to make the slide pause but in my case since I'm playing a video on my swf pausing the slide doesn't pause the video.
    myRoot = MovieClip(root);
    mainmov = MovieClip(myRoot.parent.root);
    mainmov.rdcmndPause = 1;
The code above will pause the slide. You can try if it works for you.

  • Mac Pro switches itself off immediately after power button is pressed on

    Hi there,
I would like to share with you an ongoing problem of my Mac Pro (about on and off 11 month I think). Since its HD changed at the beginning of this year I've been having the problem of "switching itself off immediately after the power button is pressed on." I took it to Milton Keynes Apple Shop and apparently they couldn't replicate the problem I received it after they reset it's PRAM. Meanwhile I read the related posts and discussions about the problem and my assumption was as suggested in the scenarios of similar cause – Power Supply unit. I had a technical chat with ex-Solutions staff from Brighton, he also said it might have been caused by it.
I really don't know what to do because, sometimes attempting 10 or over times of pressing the button I hear the chime and literally 10 or 20 seconds later it switches itself off. And it happened this Sunday morning again, 8 times I've encountered the failure. And the most confusing thing is sometimes I leave it about an hour or two and then it just works and runs fine as it has never have happened.
By the way I left my computer on for a very long time I suspect maybe more than a month it was on sleep most of time when i am not using it. But yesterday I made the mistake of logging off and shutting it down. Now I can't turn my computer on. Highly frustrating and amazingly bizarre technical challenge.
Mind you I am fairly capable of carrying DIY operations on it. Previously I baked my graphics card as suggested in the forum – it works fine at the moment I am waiting until it completely brakes. But this power problem really really puzzles me.
Any opinions, how to solve this cause is highly appreciated.
    Many thanks!
    Specs:
    Mac Pro 8 core
    Xeon 5400 2nd Generation Early 2008
    10 GB RAM
    1 TB HD

The SMC especially on the very first 2-3 months of Early 2008.
Use to suffer from a "restart on wake from sleep" issue.
Some one told me that is not what "inrush current issue" is but that is what I (and couple others) called it.
Best to always have a workstation on 1500VA UPS.
Not share the outlet or cirucit even with anything major.
Yes it could I guess, poor phrase, but put more stress on PSU over time as a result also.
Methods to reset SMC have varied and changed over time. Thanks to web not all the revisions and older versions are kept online though to compare to.
Stories of people going on vacation etc for two weeks to come back to a "dead" Mac Pro started showing up in 2007.
If it had an actual SMC button, use that to reset.
If not, leaving it totally disconnected, and all external cables and such over-night, not for the mere 5-10 minutes.
Unplug but then press and hold power button for 8-10 seconds. And only once. And not to be done repeatedly. That was SMC Reset #3.
I know the 2007 8-core 3GHz had a different PSU than the smaller models.
    2008 high end was 8-core 3.2GHz 5400 (stock was 2.8GHz 4 or 8-core)
FBDIMMs draw between 10W up to 15W each, so possible to have 8 DIMMs drawing 120W when maxed out. And heat. I always recommend Mac Pro use fan control to boost the fans a small 400 rpm to expel heat better and keep FBDIMM temps down. Heat, and temperature fluxuations stress and weaken components.
Other than AHT and the tools that a Apple Certified center should have, not much other than to swap out parts, monitor - iStatPro or Hardware Monitor -
And because of all this, I would setup a test system so you have a freshly formatted and installed OS and take it from there, with a better chance.
    ATI 2600XT still? or upgraded?

  • Trouble controlling audio with buttons

    Hi there
I can't seem to get a button to play a sound. I have the button set to "Sound" on tap and have the audio file selected but it doesn't respond on iPad.
if I import audio controls to the imported audio file itself, then i can tap the audio on and off, but I want to control it with a sliding interface.
All seems very straightforward yet it's not working!
    thanks for any help!
    Steve

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
According to the DVD Specifications, there is no way to add audio effects to button actions at all. In order to make this happen you have to make a sub menu for every single button and embed the button sound in that sub menu so it plays when the menu is 'opened'. Your main menu will need to have the buttons set to 'auto-activate' so that simply moving from button to button will open the relevant sub menu and play the audio clip. Each sub menu button that goes on to a different sub menu (i.e. if you are visually duplicating every menu) will need to be set in the same way so the user will be able to go on from menu to menu.
This is logistically complex, but is the only way to get audio onto buttons. There will be a slight pause as the sub menu opens and the audio plays, but I am guessing that this won't be too much of an issue.
Good luck - sounds a very worthy project!
