Pausing itself for no reason on playing docks - why?

i have an ihome @ home, and ihome2go at work and an ihome2go boom box i JUST got for my birthday.
i also just traded up to the 80g classic from the 30g 5th gen.
at first i thought it was the new boombox, but the ipod will be playing, then.. just goes to the battery charging screen. so i hit play, and it plays again.. it will do this over and over, also, when i pause it and go do something really quick.. i come back, and it has unpaused itself.
so i moved it back to my trusty old Ihome2go.. and it played 2 songs,, and in the middle of song 3.. it paused itself.
so now, im thinking its my ipod.
anyone else having this issue?
i think i will bring it back and get another.
or perhaps.. its possessed.

Taking it back to Best Buy would only reset it back to 1.0.0 firmware for you. The problem will still exist if you ever upgraded to 1.0.2 again.
Supposedly the following instructions work for downgrading your iPod firmware: http://spr33.co.uk/wp/archives/downgrading-apple-ipod-firmware-102-101. I have yet to try it myself.

After updating my 3gs to IOS5 it reboots itself for no reason

Last week I updated my 3gs to IOS5 and everything was ok, today morning it started rebooting itself for no reason It does this every couple of hours, without me even touching it. It is pretty annoying...

Iphone 5 reset itself for no reason.

I am encountering reset issue for no reason. The Iphone 5 just reset and restart itself ? No sure why. Need help her.
Firstly, I thought it is the apps issue but when I try to recreate it by doing the last action before it reset , everything is ok.

IMac switches itself for no reason or warning

OK, now I am getting completely sick of this.
My iMac has been switching itself for no apparent reason. Its like someone has pulled the plug out of the socket.
I don't get it. I' have tried everything.
I checked the Energy Saving Schedule, its not on.
I have replaced the logic board,RAM, Hard drive and the power supply.
I have done PRAM reset many times, I have resetted the SMC many times.
I have moved my iMac to another area of the house on a different power port.
I have move the **** iMac next door to my parents house to see if was the electricity flow.
I have reinstalled the OS back to leopard and then to snow leopard.......
and I have given up. >:(
Has anyone in the whole wide web world has ever had this problem? If so, what the **** is it?!!
I am considering going to my nearest hardware store and buying a nice shiny axe.

Hi all,
Well, I have to say that I have finally figured out why my iMac was switching off. I replaced my RAM for a new pair of RAM. I had 8 Gig installed and when I installed it, it was switching off with no warning.
So, as the last resort, I replaced the RAM with a new pair and behold!!!! ............it works superb!!!!
So, just to let you all know that if you have similar problems, try replacing the RAM. My appleCare covered for the cost of the RAM. Which is Great!!!

Computer just resets itself for no reason

I just customer built a computer. Im using the MSI (ms-7030) k8n neo platinum and sometimes my computer just reboots for no reason. I reinstalled xp pro because i was thinking it was that cool adn quiet software but it still does it. (it doesnt do it as often) when i reboots to xp it say a device driver cause ti and microsoft doesnt know the cause. I do have some cheap memory. im using the corsair 3200 value memory one stick of 512 Could it just be that. THe other problem is i cant over clock for crap thats why i bought the board because of the dynamic overclocking feature. ive been reading a lot of FAQs on the subject. Still same results liek increasing the vcore a bit etc. but ill post that later on a different topic. Basically why is my computer unstable. I got 5 fans blowing from front to back. Can anyone help.

Well hope its not bad mother board! My power supply is an antec 350w the funny thing is the first power suppy was some generic 350w i purchased to save money but it didnt work it would let me boot the comp up once. and that was it. IF i unplugged it and plugged it in it would work. After that my mouse and keyboard would be lit up really bright like a power surge was going through them(keep in mind the computer would be off) then i couldnt get the computer to boot up or even a bios screen and the power suppy would make a wierd buzzing sound even though it was off. then next day i took it back to frys electronics here in san diego. and got me an antec 350 watt and all those problems went away. Could the first power supply i bought fry something causeing my comptuer to reboot from time to time. i also noticed that i hooked my HDD to one of my 5 cooling fans power supply chain making me think the fans could be draining power from my hdd. the fans chain together one off the other the last device on the power chain was the hdd. I moved the HDD off of that and on to its own free white plug strait of the power suppy. THe computer hasnt self reset so i cant see a blue screen of death as of yet im still waiting. It restarts like 1 out of every 10 uses. I noticed its when im doing something like buring a dvd or using many windows programs at once. never just idle. It never restarts during games either like doom 3 unless the core cell crap was running. (not installed in this copy of windows) I dont know where to look in windows to see the cpu temp. The cpu is properly inserted im very confident of that. But i must confess. the first time i put it together i didnt lift the lever for the cpu and i forced the fan clamp and heatsink on top. it took awhile to realize thats why my computer would work but none of the pins was bent! Does this help any diagnose the computer. Also i keep hearing about corsair ram. Thats what i got. Anyone else got similar problems? Thanks alot for your help guys.

So ive downloaded a few songs recently, and for some reason they play about 4-5 second or half way through then skip to the next song. Why is this?

I dont know why this would happen. Its happened to a few songs. i pay the full price for them and when i go to play them, they skip to the next song shortly after. Please help.

If those are purchased tracks (from ITS) then this is an old problem, and a continuing one.
The two most common fixes are either to work through ITS Support and get different copies of those tracks (they will never work correctly on the Shuffle as they are, and might actually get worse with time), or go through a process of burning those tracks off to a CD and then reimporting them back into iTunes.
Both of these have been discussed at length in these and other forums. Search for those threads and see what you want to try.

ITunes goes on PAUSE erratically for no reason, have to hit space bar

I have a problem with either iTunes or my keyboard!
When playing music, sometimes the music will stop (iTunes goes on pause)
and I have to hit the space bar to continue, very annoying.
Is this a known issue with iTunes 8.1.1 ?
Did anyone experience such a problem?

I though it might be my Bose sound system on the floor causing vibrations, but my keyboarrd is on a table and the last time it stopped will playing classical piano, not a lot of bass there.

Try moving your computer or your sound system to see if that helps.
If no joy, then as your computer is so new, contact your Apple Store as it will still be under warranty.

IMac 20" 2007 display dims itself for no reason; "calibration" does not help

Using a 2007 white plastic iMac with 20" screen and 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, running OSX 10.6.8.
Has worked fine since being purchased many years ago.
Recently a user "did something" (she can't remember what) which immediately caused the screen to become a bit dimmer. Whatever action she took, it wasn't something complicated -- she just accidentally struck a single key or clicked on something in the main Finder window. She was not fooling around with System Preferences or anything like that.
Since that moment, I have not been able to successfully get the screen back to full brightness.
Obviously, I have tried pressing the "brighter" and "dimmer" keys on the keyboard, and those do make the brightness go up and down, but the top brightness setting is much dimmer than it used to be. All the way to brightest setting = still noticeably dimmer than normal.
And obviously I have tried using the "brightness" slider in the System Preferences > Displays > Display window. That also does indeed adjust the brightness up and down, but as with the keyboard brightness keys, the highest setting is still too dim.
Readjusting the "Calibration" in the System Preferences > Displays does not help, even when going into Expert mode and adjusting every little aspect of the screen display's default settings. Those all seem to be about color balance anyway, not about brightness. I now have three different new calibration settings, and clicking back and forth between them and the default setting makes no real noticeable difference. Whatever setting I choose, it is still dimmer than it should be, even though in all my attempts at calibration I tried to make it brighter.
Key detail: NEITHER THE SCREEN NOR THE BACKLIGHTING IS BROKEN OR DYSFUNCTIONAL
I know this is true because the following thing happens consistently:
When I put the computer to "sleep," and then wake it from sleep by pressing a random key or moving the mouse, the screen comes back on and momentarily it is at full brightness, but then "remembers" whatever mysterious settings it has, and then visibly dims itself.
So the screen has the physical capability of being fully bright -- it's just that some System setting is telling it to be dim.
Why? How can I change this? It is practically rendering the computer unusable. Help needed ASAP.

Did you try running the computer from a copy/clone backup of the system?
How about a testing with second Admin user account? Or, secure erase &
a complete reinstall of the system from scratch? (With full backup in archive.)
Check to see if there is a weak or dead PRAM battery on logic board?

problems with this site. A different reply was botched, and lost, so there it
is. Then a followup didn't appear. But it may still, though not what I wanted.
There still can be a hardware problem, not matter what someone else may
have done with the settings while using the computer. Several builds of the
early 20-24" Intel-based iMac had various graphic issues. Hardware failure.
So that is unfortunate that even after significant time attempting to resolve
the issue or the symptom, you haven't gained much traction. The time may
have arrived to consider my suggestion to seek Apple trained specialists
in an AASP, to look into this matter from a diagnostic standpoint. And be
sure you have complete backup (clone, plus timemachine, etc) beforehand.

Hello everyone. I bought my iPad 2 in Novermber, 2011. Recently it started shutting off by itself for no reason. It gets annoying because it happens while I'm using it and it starts happening more often. Does anyone know what to do about it?

Thanks, but it doesn't make a difference. I've tried. It just turns off in the middle of my reading or searching the web. On the beginning, it happened only once or twice but recently it happens at least once a week. I don't know if it's a warranty issue or if maybe there is simple solution to my problem...

My Iphone 5c keeps shutting off my itself for no reason,and it will not turn on for awhile, then it'll just turn on by itself.

It'll be just sitting on the table & it'll just turn off and it takes like 5 minutes to turn it back on. Sometimes the screen will freeze and lines will come on the screen and the screen will go purple, and it'll just turn off. What should I do? Go get it looked at? Does it sound like water damage or something? I just got it like a week ago. It hasn't been dropped or anything. Shouldn't be no water damage.

Do a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up... if that doesn't work try it with the phone charge to the wall outlet.

When started up, FF4 is opening multiple copies of itself for no reason.

I installed FF 4 today (4/03/11). First thing I noticed was that clicking in a bookmarks folder caused all the links in the folder to open instead of just getting a dropdown to pick from. Then I closed it and reopened, and the taskbar filled up with Firefox icons

ITOUCH TURNS OFF/ FREEZES FOR NO REASON!

IMac sometimes asks for WiFi, SMTP passwords... why?

My father is running Safari, and I am 200 miles away and unable to get him back up and on the internet. It's really frustrating.
The symptom is that his WiFi is asking him for a password (that no one knows -- it's not clear who put any security on the thing) and his SMTP provider also challenges for a password that should be on a keychain somewhere.
Caveats: he is 76 years old, and not conversant with the Mac. It takes me 20 minutes to have him reset his iMac -- a process usually ending with a powercord being removed from the wall (Apple usability... call me sometime and I'll show you how much work remains to be done for older users). It might be that there was a system update and he answered some random way the keychain question.
I have no idea how to fix this without being in front of the machine personally. Last time it happened, it automagically rectified itself for no reason.
Recommendations for how to make a Mac STOP fumbling the keychain passwords? Has anyone NOT wanted to update keychains?

AFAICT, it's associated with a .Mac account: DM = dotMac. Apparently, you have a .Mac account and are mounting an iDisk. I don't have such an account, so I can't help with solving your problem, but this should point you in the right direction.

Published file pauses for no reason

I have a captivate 4 question. I published a file and it plays fine, no pauses waiting for the user to click next except on one slide. I don't see any click boxes on that slide and can't figure out how to get it to advance automatically or what's preventing it. Any one have any suggestions?

Indeed, nothing that pauses to be seen on the timeline. Could you check if the action on entering this slide is set to Continue? That is about the only possible reason I can think of.
