Pausing the last slide

I am trying to figure out a way to pause the last slide of the project without inserting a button.  When the slide ends it fades to white and the last slide dissapears.  Is it possible to eliminate the fading to white and keeping the last slide visible?

Hi Lilybiri
Unfortunately, if Captivate 4 is being used I don't believe that change alone will fix it.
I'm unsure as to the technical reason behind it, but this version changes the playing field such that even though you clear the Fade out at the end, all objects simply disappear and leave the background color showing.
Hmmm, I just tried it with both AS2 and AS3. It seems that if AS2 (the default) is enabled, this is the behavior. But if you switch to AS3, things remain visible. Strange!

  • Keeping the last slide on the screen when show is over

I am hoping this is an easy solution. I am creating a slideshow which I am exporting to quicktime and what I am trying to do is keep the information from the last slide to stay on the screen without disappearing.
Do anyone know how to do this?

You can also set the poster image for the QT movie to be of the last slide so when the movie is not playing and not in pause it will default to the poster image. Set poster image for KN in QT inspector and for QT in QT Pro.
If what Brief ly said is correct, no worries, if not set last slide to longest duration possible, duplicate the slide a few times and make a huge QT file of 30min of same image. Try using an efficient codec that realises the images isn't changing. No recommendations, you have to test for your particular image.

  • How to keep the last slide image in the background during loading transition??

Does anyone have any good strategies for using the last slide as a static background image when one swf file transitions to another during the loading process?  Basically, I'd like to keep the loading image ontop of the last slide during the transition.

Does this fairly recent post help?

  • Grey Screen in iPad Content Viewer when swipe through the last slides of the articles

Some of co-workers and clients reported and issue with the presentations and the viewer: some times grey screens appear when swiping in an presentation from article to article (reproducible only for the last slide of the article).
    Pre-conditions:
    1. Folio with several articles (3-4 is good).
    2. Articles should have different number of slides.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open folio on iPad and go to the last slide of each article.
    2. Swipe from article to article (better from the first one article to the last one)..
Expected outcome:  Last slide of the next article is displayed.
Actual outcome: Grey screen is displayed instead of the last article. Some times it's needed to swipe fast to reproduce the issue. Or at least on the last slide you'll see grey screen instead of the content.
Content will be displayed if you scroll up the page. Seems that new (additional) page is added after the last slide of an article and disappeared after scrolling the page.
Notes: Reproducible with the latest version of adobe viewer (i'm using v31(3.4.3.0.96281). NOT reproducible in iPad Content Viewer with version 3.2.1.3.85505.
Maybe somebody knows the root cause of this issue and how to fix it?

I can confirm that I've seen this happen but beyond that, I can't help.

  • Clicking a button returns a user to the last slide he/she visitied

Is there a way in Captivate to create a button that will
return a user to the last slide he/she visited instead of going
    back to a previous slide?

I guess not, if you are saying that the "Previous Slide"
won't work. Just so I don't get too lost, are you saying that the
    previous slide is
not what the user viewed last? As in, they got to this slide
    through a "jump" from another.
I wonder if Java-script's "history" command could help. I
don't think so, because it doesn't involve a HTML document history,
and to my knowledge, there is no Flash action-script equivalent for
    that Java-script call ... (???)
Captiv8tor usually follows along behind me looking to add his
version of help to my posts, so maybe he can give us more
information on the use of Java-script or Action-script to
accomplish what you need. Good luck! Larry

  • Slideshow: How can I stop on the last slide?

How can I get my slideshow to stop on the last slide? I set the slide to stop as the end action, but it goes to a black screen.
Anyone know how I can do this?

Slideshows slides are timed by default.
If you want the last slide to freeze, set it to Manual Advance in Slide properties. Then it will hold the last slide until the user hits the Next/Previous buttons (if they figure that out on their own, that is...you might want to post an instruction of some kind on the slide).

  • How to make  the last slide stay on the screen ?

Hi,I need to make the last slide of my animation to remain on the screen when the animation ends and also when I export in a quick time movie .
    Does anyone can help me?

A possible workaround would be to have something appear (like a shape) as a build outside the slide's viewing boundary (if you extend the size of the window, you'll see you have some workspace outside the slide) autmatically after the animation is finished, and set a delay time or build duration based on how long you need the slide to remain on the screen.  How this works will depend on your setup for quicktime export.

  • Setting the last slide to stay on screen

Hello, I am making a slide show for work and am not able to find a way to keep the last slide in the iPhoto slideshow on screen at the conclusion of the show (want to stay in presentation mode instead of going to the editing screen).
    Thanks!

    Yes, I think so.
Set each slide's duration time manually to what you want in the Settings/This Slide pane:
The last slide can be set to a maximum of 999 seconds.
If you choose music it will continue to play, repeating if the track isn't longer than 999 seconds, until the 999 seconds run out.  For longer than 999 seconds duplicate the last slide, add it at the end and set it to 999 seconds also.

  • Why does my Keynote Presentation begin at the last slide when I'm in "Record Slideshow" mode?

I am working with Keynote 6.2.2. I created my presentation. I want to record the slideshow with a narration. I know how to do it. However, when I choose "Record Slideshow," the presentation automatically jumps to the last slide and will not let me change that.
Has anyone experienced this? And, how did you fix it?
    Thanks.

I just answered my own question. I can reset the slideshow to the first slide by clicking on Clear Recording - even if there is no recording (I simply rehearsed it).

  • Adding A Quit Button to the Last Slide

    Hi all,
One of the most requested features on our first Breeze
project was a "quit" button. The easiest way to do so in an HTML
environment is to use the command
    javascript: window.close();
Type this into the address bar on your browser, and hit
    return. Isn't that neat?
Okay, the scripting language in Flash (Actionscript) can
simulate typing something in the address bar with the command
    getURL ("javascript: window.close();");
...all we have to do is add that actionscript to the
onRelease event handler for a button in Flash. Then, add the button
to your PowerPoint before you use Presenter, and when the student
    clicks it... voila!
This same trick can be used to replace that MacroDobe©
logo in the Breeze player. This time, when the user clicks the
button, we'll use javascript to pop up an alert box with a clever
    message:
    getURL ("javascript: alert('Aren't we clever?');";
This button has to be small, around 50 x 29 pixels, to
properly replace the logo. To actually replace it, you need to
publish your presentation to the hard drive like normal. Next, find
the folder you published to, and place a copy of your "button.swf"
file in the "data" subfolder. Then, edit (don't "open") the
vconfig.xml file in the same subfolder using notepad. Near the top,
you'll find an entry that says:
    <uireplace name="logo" value= "" />
place the name of your button file between the quotation
    marks and save:
    <uireplace name="logo" value= "button.swf" />
When you load up the training next time, the logo will have
    changed to your button.
You'll have to do this every time you publish the training,
as Presenter deletes & recreates all those subfolders each time
you do. BTW, MacroDobe© does offer a small applet to parse
this xml file for you... but they want 5 grand per copy. I'm
thinking notepad works just as well :)
    cheers!
    Marc B

    sorry
    i mean, public void addDealer()
    players.addLast(new Player("Dealer"));
you see i have lets say 3 players and i want the dealer to always be the last element of the list

  • Is there a way to pause the photo slide show on iOS 7?

I use my slide show for work, but since updating to iOS 7 I can't figure out how to pause on 1 specific photo for longer than 3 or 20 seconds. Is there any way of doing this?

    See:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Play a slideshow. While viewing a photo, tap , then tap Slideshow. Select options, then tap Start Slideshow. To stop the slideshow, tap the screen. To set other slideshow options, go to Settings > Photos & Camera.

  • How do you set the End Action on last slide of slideshow

    Encore DVD CS3.
I must be the village idiot. I have setup a slideshow with manual advance. I cannot find a way to set the end action for the last slide. When I click on the last slide in the slideshow timeline there is no option that I can find for end action. When I preview the slideshow the last slide goes to black. I set the manual advance for all slides. There is several mentions of end action but no info on how to do it.
    Appreciate advice. Very frustrating.
    Clif
BTW Why are there no reference books for Encore CS3? It seems very strange. It has been out for a while but NO books.

Thank you for your help. I did what you said but the last slide still goes to black. The last slide also ignores the "manual Advance" and goes to black.
I highlighted the slideshow timeline in the project window and set end action on the properties panel on the right to the slideshow itself. But the last slide quickly goes to black. Each slide except the last one has a box in the upper right corner indicating a cross dissolve transition. I set the slide duration to "manual advance" for the whole slideshow. I feel like an idiot but nothing seems to change the end action of the slideshow or the last slide. Always cuts to black and stops.

  • About " Return To the last visited slide" feature

    Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding to the function of Return to the last visited slide, and how I can customize the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid to limit some accessing in the project.
Since I don't know anyway to keep my word concise and clear, I will try to explain my question more...
    Version I use: Captivate 5
Currently, I am working on a project that includes the course content and a navigation guide together.
Each Course Content Slide has 3 buttons:
    Back to previous slide
    Go to the next slide
Navigation Guide (goes to the navigation guide menu page )
The Navigation Guide is a 30-slide little session telling our audience how to navigate and print with pdf version. Here is how we structure the Guide:
menu Page, in the menu page, there are 4 button
button to go back to the last visited slide
    button to section A
    button to section B
    button to section C
    Section A in the guide
    Section B in the guide
    Section C in the guide
On each Section, there are buttons that can go to their sub sections and return to the menu...
the user accesses from any course content slide to the navigation guide. The frist slide they will see after entering navigation guide is the menu page with 4 buttons. If the user click " go back to the last visited slide" button, the button will takes to where the user was in the course content slide.
However, if the user click the other buttons to view the content in the guide. when they return to the menu, the last visited slide become the last page they view in the guide.... hence they can not exit the guide and return to the course unless we assign a button to go to a particular slide in the course content...
    Here comes the question:
Is there any possible way to condition  the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid, not to remember slide it visited in the navigation guide, and only remember the slides from the course session?
Thank you for your patience to finish reading my long question...
and thanks to Lilybiri and RodWard answered my question about How to create user variables to track question slides?
for the unknown reason that I can't login to my previous account anymore.... but I really want to say you guys give me a big help.

    Yes.
Our user had entered the group of slides explaining navigatio.
but, I don't know how to set the user variable for group of slide.... and if I should I combine the user variable with the cpInfoLastVisitedSlide... (Since it is all slide number...)
What I have tried is that created a conditional advanced action...
    if
rdinfoCurrentSlide > the second slide of the navigation guide
rdinfoCurrentSlide < the last slide of the navigaiton guide
    action
expression cpInfoLastVisitedSlide system = cpInfoLastVisitedSlide system - rdinfoCurrentSlide
    else
    return to last visited slide
It doesnt work the way i want at all...
My probolem is to structure the logic relationship between these variable, and also how to create a user variable for a group of slide......
    thank you .

  • Active clickboxes on last slide

    Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to keep multiple clickboxes active indefinitely on the last slide?
I have 4 clickboxes at the very end of my project, with each directing the end user to related resources / popup email to a contact person. I'd "pause project until user clicks" for all 4 clickboxes. This slide runs for 6 secs.
However, if I go on and click one of these clickboxes and, say, read a related outgoing PDF and THEN come back again to this last slide to click on the other 3 clickboxes, the project would have finished, stopped and these 3 wouldn't be active anymore.
Any tricks to keep them active?
    Thanks a lot in anticipation...

  • MOV exported from Keynote - last slide disappears, audio continues playing

I have a series of three mov files that were created in & exported from Keynote. They are audio & slide shows that are to autoplay on a website. Two of the files function as expected once embedded in the website, one does not; the last slide drops out (displaying a white screen) while the audio continues for approximately 30 seconds until the mov file ends. To add confusion to the issue ALL the files play as expected using Safari (on Win & Mac). Using Firefox on Mac delivers the "broken" results. Using ANY browser on Windows yields the broken result.
Any suggestions from anyone as to what could be causing this? A link to the website I'm talking about is below. The problem file is on index2.html

    Hi,
Since I am trying to do a number of things with Keynote, I read these discussions looking for opportunities and pitfalls.
I read your message, and saw your outcome as an issue. Since I've yet to add the soundtrack to my current project, I needed to know more about the outcome before I proceeded, in order to adjust accordingly.
I took my project, and added a song as the soundtrack. I played the slideshow, and the soundtrack played along, across the slides as it should. I then began to record the slideshow, but the soundtrack came playing through the speakers and was being picked up by the microphones, so I offed the speakers, donned my headphones, and re-began the recording. The soundtrack was playing (in the headphones), and I was narrating across many slides.
I played the recorded slideshow, and all was present - soundtrack and recorded narration.
I exported to Quicktime, sending the output to a new folder so that it could easily be found, along with anything else that might be generated. Upon completion, there was only one movie file in the folder. I opened and played it in Quicktime. It was perfect - slides looked good, narration was there, and the soundtrack was playing in the background.
This outcome appears to be your objective, so I'm not sure what I did differently than you, but from this experience, it works as should be expected.
    Good luck.
