Odd question about a replacement keyboard for HP pavilion G71326DX

I have a G7 1326DX that needs a replacement keyboard. However A frind of mine recently purchased a G72233cl and I noticed that the keyboards were basically the same, however his had a design that I like much better (Key types). My question is, Can I purchase a Replacement keyboard for the G72233cl and install that keyboard into my G71326DX. I have looked into the connection interface, as well as lined up the notches around the edges of the keyboard with pictures of the replacement keyboards, However I want to make sure it will work correctly before I make my Purchase. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

The keyboard on your G7-1326dx needs to be replaced, but you want to use a keyboard for a G7-2233cl, is that correct? I will try to help you .
Comparing the keyboard section of the manuals the part number for the keyboard you want to you use doesn’t show in the G7-1326dx list of compatible keyboards. The reason being probably is because it has never been fully tested.
Now both computers are G7’s but they are 2 totally different series of G7’s so the motherboards are probably different as well. This is one of those issues where you would have to test it out and see, I don’t believe it will work but I could be wrong. Here is the part number for the keyboard that came on the G7-2233cl. (699146-001)
If you decided to go ahead and try to change it be sure to check for a BIOS update before doing so.

Unfortunately, video adapters on most notebooks (including yours), cannot be upgraded or replaced unless the entire motherboard is replaced.
That would only be done if there is a motherboard available for your model with better graphics.
Below is the service manual for your notebook. I only see 3 motherboards listed, two of them for the discrete video. One allows for 256 MB of memory and the other, 512MB.

Definitely not worth the cost or hassle for an extra 256 MB of memory.

Is it possible that you have a bad bunch of batteries?
My Magic Mouse on one computer and the Mighty Mouse on another use batteries I bought through the Apple store (with a charger). They last a long time.

Another possiblity is that the mouse is defective. Since the keyboard connects, it has to be the mouse or the batteries.

Anyone know how to find and replace a hard drive cable fo an HP Pavilion zv5160us laptop?

I received message that my hard drive had failed. I ordered an identical drive and replaced it. I now get error message:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: exiting PXE ROM
The recovery disks will not reformat the drive. What does the cable look like. Can it be replaced? Where could I find one?

Hello Friends. I owner HP Pavilion dv7-6101er (lz661ea) and i want to upgrade cpu. Current CPU is A6-3410MX and socket FS1 i want replace for AMD A10-4600M socket FS1r2. But i don't shure will new cpu working in my notebook? I asked this question in ADM support, they said what both CPU is compatible, but need software support in bios of specific models of notebooks. I can't ask this question in HP support because free support time of my model is ended. Please prompt - BIOS of my notebook will support a new CPU?

There is no concrete answer on this. Sometimes an upgrade to an unsupported CPU will work, but most often it will fail. Read my previous posts. The risk of whatever currency you use in your country to purchase the new CPU is yours, not mine nor HP's.
Here is a solid answer for you...Use a CPU that is in the list in the Maintenence & Service Guide and your upgrade success chance will go up dramatically. I cannot say your upgrade success will be guaranteed because there is always the chance that you may break something during assembly/disassembly or be unaware of a critical assembly/disassembly procedure and inadvertently destroy your new CPU.
If you want a high performance CPU and chipset in a laptop then choose well when making a laptop purchase. Laptop/notebooks are actually not meant to be upgraded.

Replacing keyboard instructions

I am trying to replace my keyboard on a hp pavilion 15-e053ca laptop. The general instructions in the service manual for the Pavilion 15 say to remove the WLA module first and maybe the optical drive. Where is that? I have found the two screws for the board itself but do I really need to remove the WLA module first and the optical drive? I can't find any specific instructions for the 15-e053ca

Find and replace smart quotes with straight quotes?

I understand I can turn off smart quotes so that I can type straight quotes, but I need to replace hundreds of curly smart quotes with straight quotes, is there a feature that will let me do this? I am using FM8.

I am using FM9....so I don't know if the same shortcuts apply, but this is what I found out last week.
Use the Find and Replace tool:
With smart quotes turned off and the Num Lock key turned on:
Alt0147 will give you beginning quotation marks
Alt0148 will give you ending quotation marks
In the Find box use ALT0147 or ALT0148 for the beginning or ending quotes. When you click in the box and type
one of the shortcuts the correct quote will be shown in the box.
In the replace box type the regular straight quotes on your keyboard.
I was thrilled that it would work!...course you do have to do them separately and be careful not to replace the curly quotes
that you want to leave in your document.

Been losing connection for magic mouse and wireless keyboard

When I have my MBP running Mavericks in clamshell mode, I lose connections to both magic mouse and apple wireless keyboard in clamshell mode. I've tried all the PRAM SCM, aluminum foil and paper tricks. What I then did was test what happens when I leave the MBP open rather than in clamshell mode and it appears to avoid losing connection, at least that is what I've concluded with Mavericks for now..... anyone else able to replicate this? Having to leave the MBP open is not ideal.

Barry, thanks, still not working. I've tried every thing I can think of or have read, what I'm concluding is that there is either a problem with Mavericks or something has changed on how bluetooth works in Mavericks. Did not have this problem for the last 4 years. I can reproduce the problem when I close the laptop. I had the Bluetooth and wireless card checked out and replaced about 3 weeks ago. Problem has continued.

Where did "Render and Replace" in Premiere Elements 13 go?

I read in a post from 2008 that said an easy way to export a .WAV file from a single Clip so that you could edit it in another program could be done using "Render and Replace". They suggested: Clip -> Audio Options -> Render and Replace. But my only option in that menu is "Audio Gain...".
This is incredibly frustrating. I sincerely hope I didn't waste my money on a purposely crippled version of Elements that took features away from older versions of the same software.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that I have good news for you.
From what you wrote, you have a clip on the Timeline with video and audio components. For the moment we will assume that you have just
that clip on the Timeline.
Go to Publish+Share/Computer/Audio and set Presets = Windows Waveform. That will export just the audio as a .wav file to the computer
hard drive space of your choice. You can re-import the .wav version into your project with the program's Add Media/Files and Folders.
If you had a bunch of clips on the Timeline and wanted to get a wav version of the audio from a particular file....the position the gray tabs of
the Work Area Bar to span just the area of that particular clip and then Publish+Share/Computer/Audio with Presets = Windows Waveform
BUT you need a check mark next to "Share Work Area Bar Only" in the export settings.
Supplemental information if you have a Timeline with more than one clip on it....
Work Area Bar Gray Tab Placement
Shortcuts are the easiest way to place those gray tabs to span the area of the segment for export.
Move the Timeline Indicator to the start of the segment and, as you hold down the Alt key of the computer
main keyboard, press the left bracket key [ Move the Timeline Indicator to the end of the segment and, as
you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, press the right bracket key ]
And do not forget the other requirement for this situation with more than one clip on the Timeline....in the
export area, check mark next to Share Work Area Bar Only.
Please give it a try and let us know the results when you have time.

Brand New iMac and wired keyboard not working

I just bought a new iMac.The wired keyboard seems to work, the mouse is plugged into the keyboard and that works, and I can, somewhat make changes to the volume and other small changes. The ESC key works (I can turn off VoiceOver)but... I can not even get the computer up and going. I can not put in my name or other registration information.
Any ideas if the keyboard has some kind of other settings that I need to turn off. There is no software or anything else in the Mac that I know of. It is brand new and just arrived today.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm so sorry. I know this a bummer. But better to take it back. When you take it in, if they boot it and get it to work, make sure and shut down the iMac, wait about ten seconds and press the power button. Make sure it boots to the Desktop and that your keyboard functions as it should. Just make absolutely sure it works before you bring it back home. In fact, since you could not get through the registration process, perhaps they will go through that with you since had problems with it. Something isn't communicating between the iMac and the keyboard. Could be the USB ports, software/hardware ... hopefully they'll repair it to your satisfaction or replace it.

Enabling tabbing to controls on DW CS 4 Mac in Find and Replace

I have used Dreamweaver on Windows for many years. I'm now working on the Mac.
I have configured OS X Leopard for improved keyboard access to UI controls. This allows me to tab to dropdown (or popup) menu and use the keyboard to quickly select menu items. I realize this is a personal preference but personally I'm more productive this way. This setting affects the OS and appears to work in many applications. It doesn't appear to work in Dreamweaver CS4.
I work on one PHP project that has hundreds of files. I routinely need to use Find and Replace to search in "Selected Files in Site" but often need to only search in "Current Document", so I'm routinely switching between these options. I'm also routinely toggle the "Use regular expression" option. On Windows I could change these settings without having to use the mouse. I could quickly tab (or shift-tab) from the "Find:" and "Replace:" text boxes to the "Find In:" and "Search:" Dropdown Menus or the various "Options:" checkboxes, but find that one the Mac I have to use the mouse to change the dropdowns and checkboxes.
Have I missed a Dreamweaver setting or a magic keyboard shortcut that would enable full keyboard access to DW's Find and Replace and other Dialogs?
