Pavilion 15-E055ST AHCI MODE PROBLEM

Herkese merhabalar. Hp Pavilion 15-E055ST model laptobum var. Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250 GB ürününü aldım. Pc ye taktım. Sata 2 de çalışıyor. Sata 3 e geçiremedim. Biosta da Ahci mod yok. Seçim yapamıyorum. Çözümü nedir bunun?. Chipset HM86 sata 3 desteklemez mi?

Hi @abdserin1990
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you wish to enable support for AHCI for a replacement hard drive. I have had a bit of trouble finding something direct, but did find this page which may be helpful, even though it is mostly referencing Windows XP.

Also , I found these pages related to drive preparation that should also be useful.

If you still need more help let me know and I will see what else I can find. What options are you seeing in the BIOS?

BIOS v:  Hewlett-Packard F.02, Tue 11/10/2011   (maybe I should update to F3 but all I see is it improves WAN so....)
    Hello to all,
I'm going to purchase a 240GB Corsair Force 3 SSD.
Now we all have seen the option to enable AHCI mode, I won't to do this as with TRIM support etc. *PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER WITH: YOU DON'T NEED AHCI, YOU CAN GO AHEAD*
Problem is, the stupid BIOS is so simplified that there is nothing on there for AHCI mode.
I looked in device manager and it seems it has been set up in RAID, as all I get is: IDE ATA/ATAPI.
Below is device manager showing the controller. Further below is the drivers of the controller:
Unless, the AMD controller supports AHCI I will not purchase my SSD, and forever think why on earth I bought this so called 'entertainment notebook PC'.
Thanks for looking guys and girls,
    Danny

    Hi:
You're not going to need to install the chipset drivers. They are already included in the W7 install disk.
Your chipset is newer than the AMD 8xx chipset as well.
Your product key will work on a W7 install disk, but I was not aware of any HP Home Premium W7 disks that would work. They are usually part of a recovery disk set and won't work without the whole set.
In case yours doesn't work, then just do this...
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • Activation of AHCI mode in HP Pavilion 15 p105nr Laptop

    Hello everyone
    I bought a laptop Pavilion p105nr.
This one is based on AMD platform  - A10 - 5745M, HD8610G, motherboard chipset AMD A76M FCH (likely)
    I have question:
    1) I installed a SSD OCZ ARC 100  to the laptop HP Pavilion 15 p105nr insteed of oprical drive;; GPT Table format.
    2) Perfomance is good, but SSD GURU (application for the SSD) shows that AHCI is not activated; therefor TRIM doesn't work (I' had checked)
    3) UEFI/BIOS version 3.6 American Megatrends doesn't have any options for switching AHCI/IDE/RAID etc.
    4) I had tried to switch with using of safe reboot through cmd (admin mode) - no result
What recommendation do you have? How can I switch the mode?
    Thank you in advance
    Best Regards.

    Hi there @STANISLAV_
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are looking to activate or switch AHCI mode on your notebook. As you yourself mentioned, the option does not appear in your BIOS version, which is normally where you would make the adjustment, if it is an available option.
The only possible option would be to try a different compatible BIOS in the hope that the setting is not locked down. However on looking at the support page, for this model currently there are no drivers or BIOS options available. It is possible that the page is currently in the process of being updated, so it may be worth checking another time, so I include a link for the support page below. HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p105nr (ENERGY STAR)
For now, with what is available, the adjustment you wish to make is not possible.

  • Problems with Pioneer burners and AHCI mode on P35 Neo2-FR (ICH9R)

Well, I did my best to make my two Pioneer SATA DVR-215s work with ICH9R in AHCI mode (changed cables, ports, power supplies, rails, set AHCI SATA ports to none in BIOS, upgraded to latest BIOS and Intel drivers) but nothing seems to solve the issue that burners just do not work properly when Intel controller is in AHCI mode. If ICH9R is set to IDE mode, everything is working properly. If not - burns fail, randomly stop, burners disappear from explorer and device manager with: The device 'PIONEER DVD-RW  DVR-215 ATA Device (...) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal. and The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort7, did not respond within the timeout period. Now my question is : is this a know issuse with ICH9R - or is this specific to Neo2-F(I)R (guess that it goes for Platinum as they share BIOS) or is it Pioneer fault? Firmware is updated tol atest...

    edit: forgot - Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit
    etc...
    Someone?

Yes, the ICHxR series have had issues in the past.  I thought they fixed that on the newer series by making ports 5-6 non-AHCI.  I have had issues with it booting for installing windows, but once in windows, it seems to work fine for me.  Luck me though, my board has the JMicron controller ports (usually blue or an off color).  if you have an off color SATA port, that port will be for optical drives or other devices.
also, I see you only list one HD.  are you runing RAID?  if not I don't think you gain any advantage with AHCI.  AHCI is more for RAID setups and you'll need drivers to run them.  regular IDE mode needs no extra drivers and usually perform better as the AHCI driver overhead usually puts an extra load on the drives and slows it back down.
If you're unsure, re-check the owners manual.  it often covers odd setup configurations in there.

  • T60p AHCI mode is not working

    hi all:
my t60p with xp getting slower and slower. so i decided to reinstall os and other software. the problem is: the system would not be able to recognize anything from that "Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver", even with this newest chipset software oss924ww.exe installed. well, actually, the oss924ww.exe contains suh driver and installed for me. but no matter what i did, i just can't set bios back to "AHCI" mode. basically i stuck with the mode of "compatibility".
supposedly the IDE driver for my t60p 2613-cto is "Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller" and use "Intel(R) ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI Controller".
i did this once two years ago and it worked fine once i installed "Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver" and i had no problems to rest bios back to AHCI mode. but not this time.
anyway i can resolve this problem?
    thanks.

The chipset driver does not contain AHCI support.
The Intel Matrix Storage Manager must be installed as described below:
Download Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver from the Web site and extract the driver to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM.
    Go to C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM\PREPARE, and double-click install.cmd.
Power off and on the computer.
Press the F1 key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility when the ThinkPad logo is seen on the screen. The BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password prompt appears, type the correct password.
    Select Config.
    Select Serial ATA (SATA).
    Select AHCI.
Press the F10 key to save the new setup, and then select Yes. The computer will reboot and Windows XP will start.
The "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" appears. Click No, not this time, and then click Next.
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.
Select Search for the best driver in these locations. Then select Include this location in the search:, specify the path, C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM, and click Next. The "Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard" appears.
    Click Finish.
When the "System Settings Change" window appears, click Yes. The computer restarts.

  • NB300 unable to set to AHCI mode for SSD drive

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba NB300 netbook, running Windows 8 Pro 32 bit, very happy with it!
I have a Corsair Force 3 112GB SSD drive installed, and everything seems to be running very nicely!
Reading up on SSD drives I see that for best performance I should be running the SSD in AHCI mode.
So I went to the Setup menu on start up and changed from Compatibility mode to AHCI.
I've actually tried this a few times, always with the same result, failure!
When the system attempts to boot I get a message saying a problem was encountered, and that
the sytem is trying to gather information.
The only solution is to go back into setup and reset to Compatibility mode.
The BIOS is up to date, and I just can't think of any way to resolve the issue.
I really would like to get the best performance I can on this net book.
I have a screen grab of the SSD drive details from Speccy, but I can't see a way of attaching it?
If any one can advise me on how to get AHCI mode up and going I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks
    Chris

Unfortunately on this forum we dont have reports about SSD usage on NBs. I have NB520 and I would like to use SSD to but until now I didnt find the right one.
As far as I know by default BIOS is set to AHCI mode. Which OS have you installed? Original one that you got with your notebook or your own version? Have you installed Intels storage manager from Toshiba download page?

  • ICH10 and Vista - AHCI mode - anyone got it to work ?

    The ICH10 DOES have AHCI
I have a P45 chipset and am having some difficulty in Windows Vista 64.
    I have a P45 neo-F
BIOS 1.1 (which came with the mb) only had IDE mode. After changing the motherboard over from my old one, the system booted into Vista and worked fine (after installing the inf chipset driver from the MSI CD).
I then installed BIOS 1.3. This now has an option to select AHCI (MSI have only started enabling this on later BIOSes for the ICH10).
    I selected AHCI mode.
Then all hell broke loose. The computer booted, but the network and nvidia video card driver failed.
I reinstalled the intel drivers from the disk, the  network driver started working again, but the Nvidia card doesn't.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest NVIDIA drivesr, but the system says "unrecognised graphics card"
I would really like not to reinstall Vista.
    Any ideas are welcome!

Vista is rather sensitive with new hardware functions.
Have you cleared CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from PSU after updating your BIOS?  If not, repeat this step and load "Optimized Defaults" in BIOS after that.
Have you installed the latest Intel Chipset drivers available on the Intel Download Sites?  If not, try those and see what happens:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2973&OSFullName=Windows+Vista&lang=eng&strOSs=163&submit=Los%21
If none of this changes anything, I would reinstall Vista (or test a parallel installation) to see if the problem is OS related (or not).

How can i enable the AHCI mode for the envy 15-1055se. I tried to find this option in the bios, but its not there. I already installed an SSD and the OS (Windows 7 home Premium). Im using Samsung EVO 250gb.

That can be done by using Windows  Regedit feature.  It is imperative that you make a copy of the registry before you commit to the change.
Use regedit with extreme care. All changes that you make take place instantly. That is why it is critial to have made a copy .
What is the installed operating system?

  • TRIM not working despite AHCI mode and fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify returning 0

    Hi,
I recently changed my mobo, from a Gigabyte to an ASRock X79 Extreme9.
After doing so, being sure the new one is set up to be in AHCI mode, and updating the drivers of an existing Win 7 x64 installation using the provided DVD by ASRock, I used trimcheck-0.7.exe to check if trim was working, and it's not. Trim was working with
    the Gigabyte mobo.
I made sure also that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV start value was 0, to no avail.
The Device Manager shows that my 2 SSDs use an SCSI driver, which might be the source of the problem. I tried to update the driver automatically there, but Windows kept the ones existing, saying it could not find better.
Then, I tried to remove the Intel RST component, and reboot, but it did not help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding to the TRIM capability and AHCI mode, I would like to share the following link with you, please see the reply posted by koitsu,

This is hardware configuration question, not a Windows question, you will be well answered by your manufacture of the motherboard and ssd.

  • Unable to enable AHCI mode for Satelite L350-171

    HI,
I recently installed XP on my laptop which previously had VIsta on it. The installation was successful and I managed to install all the drivers. The only problem I have now is not being able to enable AHCI in the BIOS without the laptop restarting. I installed the ICH9 SATA drivers and I can see them on the hardware device page. I was wondering if anyone else has had these problems, I'm not sure whether this has affected my laptop because occasionally I get the blue screen of death.
If you require any other information please let me know.
    Thank you
    Regards Kevin

could you please elaborate on the process of installing the sata drivers, as far as i know when change the bios to ahci mode when loading WXP it just blues screens straight away. am i suppose to set it to hci then install a clean WXP?
another problem i have found is that my time on the WXP keeps reseting is this due to the ahci drivers?

  • Bios update to support ahci mode

I have an HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1014 desktop.  I changed the HDD to an SSD and now I need a BIOS update capable of enabling AHCI mode.  How would I go about requesting this?

OK that is interesting, because the motherboard specs for your model state that your PC has the intel G41 (Intel Series 4) express chipset.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01903990&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
But the Intel  ICH7 Family Ultra ATA Storage Controllers, 27DF and Intel   N10/ICH7 Family Serial ATA Storage Controllers, 27C0, are from a much older chipset (Intel 945).
The desktop version of the Intel 945 chipset with the ICH7 sata controllers does not support AHCI.
What processor does your model have?  The specs state it has the Pentium Dual Core E5800.

  • How to add AHCI mode to insydh bios

    hi guys
im using hp pavilion g6t 2300 cto notebook
my notebook does not have AHCI mode in bios. can any one help me how add AHCI mode to my insydeh bios
it is too important for me please suggest me some solutions

    Hi:
What you want to do cannot be done as the BIOS in that model is set to AHCI by default and cannot be changed by any means.
When you go into the Windows device manager, click to expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers category and there you will see the name of the sata AHCI controller listed there.
If the BIOS was not set to AHCI, the controller would have been named differently.
For your specific model, you should be seeing the Intel(R) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller listed there.

  • U330 AHCI DVD problem

I have this annoying problem under XP with the U330 in AHCI mode: from the moment the Windows startup screen appears (and presumably the Intel SATA driver loads), the DVD drive is accessed every 5 seconds, continuously, until the system is restarted. The only way to "fix" this constant pounding on the optical drive is to disable the it in Device Manager (not really acceptable).
This does not happen if I set non-AHCI mode in the BIOS, but if I do that I get a BSOD when I boot into Vista (original Lenovo partition).
Anyone have a solution for this? Either to get AHCI working properly under XP, or to get non-AHCI working under Vista - either solution will do.
    Thanks in advance...

Thanks, but as I said in the original post I already have AHCI working in XP: it works fine for the U330 HDD but it literally *pounds* on the optical drive - attempting to read it every 5 seconds or so regardless. The driver you linked has the same issue.
This does not happen in non-AHCI mode or in Vista, so it would seem to be an Intel XP AHCI driver issue.
