Pavilion 752n sound card drivers.

I have tried just about ever driver I could find but I can not find a driver for the Soundmax Sound Card that was listed on the machine before I had to replace the hard drive.
Additionally I am unable to load the drivers for the audio controls on the keyboard but that maybe connected to the lack of a sound card.
Help!!!

I went to reatek's website (http://218.210.127.131/downloads/) and downloaded the AC'97.  Once I installed the drivers the system crashed but after the crash I went into device manager, found the SoundMAX driver and did a update driver, when I ran the update I allowed it to search the Internet and it found a SoundMAX driver 5.12.1.3620 signed by Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher.
Also you need Microsoft's .NET 2.0 to install the keyboard drivers you mention.

  • Any plan of releasing REAL WORKING sound card drivers for windows 8.1 one day???

    Hello,
As you probably saw, I am one of the countless people having an issue with my sound blaster card with windows 8.1, and desperately waiting a new proper driver until months now... in vain, and with no answer from anyone from the creative support team, who are just ignoring it...
I say countless, because I can see over Internet a huge amount of people having those issues, and this forum doesn't represent it, because it is a pain to get the account activated to post anything.
Here is my question : can I throw away my relatively new high end sound card like a piece of useless crap now and buy a real piece of hardware, or are you planning to give us a chance of not wasting our money soon??
Just for your information, Realtek has released their working windows 8.1 drivers since 5 months now.
I know that Creative is in a position of strength in this market, because there is almost no other viable options, but does it means you have to abuse it?
Sorry if my message seems a bit hungry, right now I really feel like a disappointed customer who was trusting this company to buy a really great piece of hardware, but sadly can't get it working anymore, and being ignored.
I believe that being ignored is the least respectful answer of all.

Well, that is exactly what I was saying... still no answer from anybody.
Seriously Creative, when you want to make a product become obsolete by releasing a new version of your products (SBX), you should at least have the honesty to say that the old products are not supported anymore in windows 8.1...
I have installed windows 8.1, with no possibilities to revert back to windows 7, knowing from your website that my card is compatible (see here), and now my sound card is just an expensive useless piece of electronic taking dust on my desk... which i bought less than one year ago.
From your silence, should I guess that there will be no update or support anymore for this card in windows 8.1? In that case, is their any way I can send it back to creative technical support to exchange for a working model? Or at least a discount for the new model??

  • Pavilion dv6 sound card

    Hi support,
I have a question regarding my sound card embedded on my notebook Pavilion DV6-2140el.
Could you please give me more details about the technical specifications of the sound card?
I would have also the model of the chipset. I am interested mostly on the output dB power of sound.
    Thank you

    Hello, @nicunicu
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you're looking for some information on components in your notebook. I will try to help you on this.
Most of this information is actually on the computer. You can use the Device Manager to find out a lot on each component. This may help you on how: What if Product Specifications For Your Notebook Are Not Available On The Web? - use the section on "Find specification using Windows Device Manager".
You may also find some information on those in the Maintenance and Service Guide.
    I hope this helped.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Updated Audigy 2 Sound Card Drivers.... now speakers don't mu

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I updated the drivers for the first time in 3 years yesterday. I'm now using the Driver set: 5.2.4.96.
However, the bad news is that when I plug in my headphones to the USB port, the sounds still comes over the speakers and not over the headphones. The microphone works and I can hear my friends on ventrilo. But games sounds come through the speakers. I checked my settings in the Audio HQ and 'mute speakers when using headphones' is checked. Also, in order for my headset to work at all with ventrilo, I had to default sound device to my headphones and not to the sound card.
Prior to the new drivers, everything worked perfectly. After the drivers install, I'm having problems. Any thoughts as to what is going on?
Thanks.<!-- / message --><!-- message, attachments, sig -->Message Edited by boojiboy on 04-6-200703:43 PM

Last try... bump #3. One additional piece of info, after working on and off on this for over a week, I'm suspicious that the previous driver set didn't not complete uninstall and thus, I have some sort of of driver conflict. I've followed the FAQs to the letter on uninstall and reinstall procedures. No luck.

  • Win XP Sound card drivers off leopard CD

Why are the WinXP drivers for my audio card (MBP) so much more advanced than the OS X version? I have boot camp with a Win XP installation with Leopard on the mac side.
I would like take part of some of those features while in Mac Mode.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks for the reply.
Perhaps I should have written my question a little differently. I am well aware that XP drivers do not work with OS X. That is obvious. My question was basically about the control panel for the sound card that XP uses. I liked the effects that it used. I figured that if OS X was so much more advanced they would have something SIMILAR to be able to add more functionality to the card.
I suppose there is something I could download. Just noting at this time. I could care less.

  • Sound Card Drivers for Vi

Greetings everyone! i had bought vista ultimate a few days back and also creative 5. speaker system. to my surprise creative had stopped support for sound blaster 5. for vista, so the only option was exercised. i bought an audigy value 7. card and installed it. after downloading the vista driver from creative support site, i was again surprised to find that the audigy driver was full of bugs, the biggest being it would give me option of only 2. audio output. i was wondering when creative would be developing full drivers for sound cardsand not the beta versions so that we may once again enjoymusic and other audio outputas it ismeant to be any help in the matter would be highly appreciated! any other option to correct sound card issues are also most welcome! also does microft have any plan whatsoever to develop drivers to support 5. and higher audio output please do note that in India the top end models of sound cards from creative are not available even with creative distributors, so any other way to get around the problem is sought. thanks in advance! regards and warm wishes!

  • Sound card drivers??????

I have a creative labs sound blaster legacy sound card by the model number of 800570 that i cannot find the driver for anywhere, i lost the cd and have searched all over and its nowhere to be found can anyone help me pls?

    Hi,
The model number should start with SB followed by the first four digits of the serial number. If you have a SB0570, it's an Audigy SE card.
Go to the Support section of the website and select your product. Scroll down the page and click on "If your product is not listed above, please click here." Select Audigy SE in the list of sound cards, this should bring you to the download section.

  • An error message after I install my sound card

I have one of MSI product. K7N2G-L (MS6570) mainboard for AMD processors. It's bios version is 3.5 (I have flashed it because of the CPU temprature measurement problem, now it show 20 C lower temprature of CPU than it was. Is this normal?).
My operating system is Windows 98 SE. After I install window I install my sound card. My sound card's model is Creative Sound Blaster Live Value. But after I install Nvidia nforce system drivers and my sound card drivers, whenever I reboot my computer I see an error message. The message is:
" EMM386 not installed - unable to set frame page address "
and after this message there says: press any key to continue.
In fact, after a while Windows 98 starts, even I don't press a key. Why I see this message and how can I prevent to see this message. What is wrong? What should I do?
If you can help me about this problem I will be so glad.

    Hi..
I am not sure but this might be one of those DOS drivers that load off the autoexec.bat.. (COs win98 does not use emm386 for extended memory managenent)..
Try this... Go to the MS-DOS command prompt, type
    C:
    CD
    NOTEPAD autoexec.bat
And search for a entry that is referting to a file in the Live installation directory and add the words REM infront of it...
    Ex.
    C:LiveLoad.exe
    make it
    REM C:Liveload.exe
Chances are u will not be needing this file to get audio in the system...
    Good Luck
    Rasika
    [EDIT]
Try putting rem infront of entry in the audoexec.bat.. u sould be able to catch it easyly

  • XP Pro, Service Packs 1,2,3, and sound card problems

I recently purchased a white macbook. So far it has been a very good experience, however I am having some trouble with XP Pro and its service packs. I've installed XP and it works fine for the most part however the sound card does not work. I tried to install the sound card drivers but they did not work. My questions are:
    - Do I need to install service pack 1 seperately or does it install with XP?
    - Can I only use service pack 2 for the drivers to work or can I use service pack 3 as well?
    - When I try to install service pack 2, it says that i require 4 more megabytes, I free space, however it still states the same thing, how do I resolve this?

Hi all and welcome to Discussions,
the 4MB error has amde its return with the Service Pack 3, so maybe these insructions can help you:
    1. Click Start - Run - Type “regedit” and press enter.
    2. Navigate to
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE
    \Software
    \Microsoft
    \Windows
    \CurrentVersion
    \Setup
    3. In the right pane, Right-click and select New - String value
    4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\”
XP with Service Pack 2 was always a neecessity with BootCamp.
Microsoft has add some with the SP2 that are needed for BootCamp to work.
For older (pre-SP2 XP-CDs) you can use these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp to make yourself a XP SP2 installation CD.
Works with SP3 as well, but to my knowledge you must have a XP SP1 CD for start.
    Regards

  • Has anyone written an ASIO sound card VI?

Has anyone used ASIO sound card drivers with LabVIEW?  I've seen a few requests for it, but no one has posted anything useful.
The standard LabVIEW sound VIs use lvsound2.llb, which seems to talk to DirectSound on Windows.
    Thanks.

Here is a follow-up to my posting on 5/17/2009, where I pointed out that we have an ASIO interface available for LabVIEW at http://www.lasi.arizona.edu/.  If you are interested in this software, please contact me at:
    Ben Sternberg
    University of Arizona
    Laboratory for Advanced Subsurface Imaging
    [email protected]
Previous users of our software have reported a wide range of applicability for this software. This applicability has changed as the ASIO software and LabView program evolved.   Our ASIO driver no longer works with the recent versions of LabView (LabVIEW 2010 and newer).
    Some possibilities are:
1). Our ASIO driver will work with older versions of LabView (LabVIEW 2009 and older).  There are often a number of sellers on EBay who are selling older versions of LabView.  You can then use a program with the ASIO driver with this older version.
2). Produce an executable of your program (using an older version of LabView) that can then be used without even having a copy of LabView on your computer.
3). Modify the ASIO driver for the newest version of LabView.
The following is a further explanation of the history and current limitations of the code, which was prepared by Terry Leach, the consultant who wrote the ASIO interface and the GenMon data acquisition program for us.
Our ASIO interface was built in LabView 6.x using the CIN (code interface node) technology.  Source code to interface to the ASIO 2.0 sound driver was obtained from Steinberg.  http://www.steinberg.net/en/home.html
This development was performed under an NSF grant obtained and managed by Dr. Ben Sternberg of the University of Arizona.
During the development time, our ASIO interface consisted of expanding and generalizing the Steinberg code to allow easy creation of "channel" C++ objects as well as status bits to track ASIO sound buffer performance in real time.  In addition C++ code was added so that we could call the Steinberg interface from the LabView development environment.  This code was compiled and built into a CIN.  The CIN was then incorporated as a binary directly into ASIO.vi.  ASIO.vi then became our interface to the sound driver when in the LabView development environment.  Several LabView applications were built making use of ASIO.vi.  There are three distinct layers to the sound interface.  The lowest layer being the ASIO 2.0 compliant driver of whatever hardware you intended to access.  The intermediate layer being the Steinberg/UofA/LV CIN, and the final layer being ASIO.vi and its use in your application program.
Our applications, built on point acquisitions which were always a power of 2 (supporting real time FFT calculation), meshed very well with sound buffer sizes which were also powers of 2.  The ASIO driver, at that time, supported a maximum sound buffer size of 16384 points.  As the ASIO interface is built on double buffering this gave us 16384/(sample rate) = seconds of time to perform our application calculations in real time.
    Several things happened over time.
1).  The ASIO 2.0 driver's (low layer, for Echo Audio equipment) maximum point buffer was reduced from 16384 points to 2048 points.  This reduced our application's processing time (prior to sound buffer lossage) to 1/8.  While it would be possible to modify the middle layer to manage a virtual sound buffer of larger size, no further development funding was available.
2).  The Steinberg code hard coded the name of the ASIO 2.0 compliant driver to be found and instantiated from the Windows Registry.  As the hardware vendor produced new hardware and subsequent upgrades of the ASIO 2.0 driver to support that hardware, they also changed the name of the driver in the Windows Registry.  For a quick fix, this required recompilation and rebuilding of the ASIO CIN, and subsequent update of the ASIO.vi.  It would also be possible to scan the Windows Registry and let the user pick which ASIO 2.0 compliant driver to use.
3).  As of LabView 2010, National Instruments no longer supports the CIN development interface.  This makes it impossible to update the CIN as required by the aforementioned item.  While it would be possible to convert the CIN to a DLL, we do not have funding available for this modification at this time.
To use the ASIO.vi LabView interface at this time, without further development, means running under an older version of LabView.  It may also mean a recompilation and rebuilding of the ASIO CIN contained in ASIO.vi if the name of the ASIO 2.0 compliant driver in the Windows Registry does not match that hard coded into the ASIO CIN.
