Anyone know if is Apple offering the third party iPhone charger replacement program in Canada? I was told by the local outlet in BC, it's for the US and other part of the world only. She said she verified with he co workers, even I told her it was reported in CBC News

Apple representative offered to replace my cable but not my sons. Not a happy apple user right now.
I'll let you in on a bit of a secret.  Apple retail staff (Specialists, Geniui and Floor Mangers) have a great deal of leeway when it comes to customer appeasement.  When rapport breaks down, the customer is less likely to enjoy that leeway.  Chances are, no matter who made the intial call, it will be reinforced regardless of how high it goes up the supervisory chain.
The item you went in for retails for $19.  They probably misplace four or five of them each day.  If they sent you home without one, there was likely a good reason for that.

  • Pavilion dv6 charger exploded

    Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6 (beats audio) laptop which is only 2 years old and today whilst using it there was a sudden really loud bang next to me and the smell of burning. It frightened the life out of me. I didn't know what on earth had happened and where the burning smell was coming from. I now realise that the charger was the source of the bang. My husband turned it off from mains and picked it up and this was evidently the source of the smoke smell. On further investigation when you pull the cable from the box bit of the charger, you can see it is scorched and it has even left a black scorch mark on the carpet.
Luckily my laptop appears to have escaped damage (well its still on!)
Has there been an issue/recall on power supply/chargers? My warranty is clearly out of date and I don't know what to do next.

FIRST OF ALL, I am very sorry to hear that.
I don't work for hp but I hope you and your family is fine from the disater.
    I have a few questions:
    1. Are you ok (most important)
    2. IS the adapter from hp and had it been replaced before for some reason (moved to new country and not same voltage)
    3. After replaced, was it purchased from hp
    4. How did the happened (like how were you using your laptop, on your bed or something, what were you doing on the computer: playing games, browsing the web, watching a move etc.)
    5. What is the voltage of your outlet.
    6. Use a device to check for voltage stablility (call your electricity utiliy)
    7. Don't blame anyone on this forum for not responding your case right away.
    8. I hope you get an soluction from hp soon.
Sorry because of different timezone I might not be able to help/reply you right away.IF that happens I deeply apologize!

  • HP Pavilion zd7000 charging issues

I have a Pavilion zd7000 here at our shop and I replaced the dc jack as it was not charging the battery at all and wouldn't allow the computer to be turned on while the AC adapter was plugged in.  Once the DC jack wass replaced I was able to boot the laptop up no problem.  One thing I noticed when it was booted up, when you have the charger plugged into the laptop it will not constantly charge the battery, it flashes when it charges.  It's like it starts to charge then stops, starts, stops, and continues on and on.  When looking in the power configurations inside Windows, it still says that the AC Adapter is plugged in, but will not continuously charge the battery.
I applied a BIOS update and it seemed to work for awhile, but then it went back to doing the same thing of "flash charging".  One thing I have noticed is when the computer is off, it charges the laptop just fine and the lightning bolt in the front constantly stays on when plugged in, only when the laptop is on is when it has problems with the constant charge.
I'm wondering is it a mainboard issue, where there is something shorting it out, or is it a BIOS thing and we need to update it again or some other sort of update?  I'm totally lost on this issue  and any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Serial number not recognized by Apple website. Need help to get a charger replaced.

I have a MacBook Pro (Build13A603) that recently started having trouble charging. It looks like there is a short in my power adapter. I purchased it from a Best Buy, and my extended warranty from there has already run out. I do not have Apple Care. I know sometimes Apple is able and/or willing to help out in these types of situations, but I have been trying to contact Apple Care, and when I try to provide my serial number the website does not recognize it. I have used the one from 'About This Mac' as well as the one laser etched on the bottom of my computer. Any other ideas how I may be able to get in touch with them to see if they just might replace the charger for me? The closest store to me is over 60 minutes away so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

Have you tried to verify your MBP serial number here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Check it in System Information>Hardware Overview.
You MBP requires an 85w charger.  OWC sells them for less than Apple:

  • Macbook pro battery reports not charging replace now

    Hi,
My MacBook Pro reports that it is not charging and the status is "replace now". This is an early 2008 model so is it simply the fact that the battery is due for replacement or could there be another explanation :
I have not used the Mac Book for a few months and battery lasted 3-4 hours on last use.
The battery has only had 30 power cycles, I thought that average should be about 300 ?
Did Apple recall/replace known issues with batteries in this model/date, even so it probably isn't valid now ?
    Thanks
    Jake

There have not any battery recalls that I am aware of.  I suggest you go to the Apple store and have the MBP examined.  Your cycle count is very low but the battery is not new, coupled with the fact the MBP warning message is there for a purpose.
    Ciao.

  • IPhone 5S charger replacement waiting time - India

    Hello
I am an avid Apple user from India . My iPhone 5S charger stopped working last night hence i took it to an authorized Apple Service Center in Jaipur , India . Iwas told to submit the cable as the cable was faulty and since the iPhone was in warranty hence the replacement would be done . I was very happy with the response but my happiness was short-lived .
I was told that I would have to wait for 3 days to get a replacement as there was no cable available with them . Upon asking I was told that the accessories are procured from Bangalore and takes 3-4 days to arrive .
I would like to request Apple authorities to please ensure that spare accessories are available because as you can understand its really difficult to wait for 4 days with a dead phone just to avail the warranty . Its a request in behalf of all Indians to Apple Care to please look into this matter and do the needful so that all we faithful Apple customers walk out of the Service Centers with a smiling face .
Thanks - An Apple User since 2009 .

  • HP ENVY 15-j013cl Notebook PC Charger [replacing the charger dc connector]

The DC connector to my charger is deformed. Someone tried to force it into their Acer laptop.
Where can I purchase a replacement connector that I can solder?
What color are the  positve and negative wires?
Is the outside of the connector positive or negative?
    alternateley
Does anyone sell a replacement wire with the correct molded connector that I could solder at the charger side?
Does the power supply even come apart without melting plastic?
I have ordered a replacement charger from the HP store.  The repaired charger would be a back up.  If radio shack sells the part I may be up and running before my order is delivered.
    thank-you for your support

  • Charger replacement in europe

Hello, i bought an iPhone 5 in January but my charger hasn't been working normally for the last few weeks. It can't charge my phone properly. There are no signs of damage on the outside, but there's obviously a problem. Apple is supposed to replace my charger, right ?! But the thing is i don't live in a coountry with an Apple Store, otherweis i could go and make and appointment and etc. I bought my phone from my operator. So, if they don't want to replace my charger, what should i do ? (apart from buying a new one, i have warrianty rights !)

If your carrier is an authorised supplier in your country and they are responsible for warranty ,it is their responsibility
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_Kingdom&product=iph one
On this link use drop down country menu to determine the service and warranty options in your country
The charger and cable have a 12 month warranty

  • IPhone Lightning charger replacement

I recently bought an original apple 6.6' lightning charger cable from bestbuy and the end ripped and it is not working anymore. Is this product covered under my one year warranty? Also do I have to provide a recipt to have it replaced?

The lightning cable does have a warranty. You may have to provide a receipt to show when you purchased it, since it was not from an Apple store. Then make an appointment at the Genius Bar to see about the warranty replacement.
