Pavilion dv 7 's Ram

I am using dv7 4073 ca  with 2  2GB  DDR3 1067 Ram.    Can I put 2   4GB DDR3 1333   Ram  in?

Hi,
Based on this, yes. You can buy from them or use the information to buy elsewhere.

    Hi,
Both modules can be used. DDR3L means that the memory uses low voltage. Means the modules produce less heat and last longer than pure DDR3 ones. I still use pure DDR3 Corsair 1600MHz CL9 modules.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p077tx 16GB RAM Supported?

    Hi,
I am HP employee and planning to buy below model.
    HP Pavilion 15-p077tx
As per the spec we can upgrade upto 12 GB RAM. But i would like to upgrade to 16 GB RAM. Due to buget constrain i cannot go beyond this price.
As per the Intel spec, this process supports 16 GB RAM.
Can you please guide me whether i can upgrade the RAM upto 16 GB?
    Thanks,
    Meera Hussain

The model posted in this thread - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c04345345&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
Support only 12GB as per manual. It has already 8gb in it, so adding another 4gb is the way.
But, I have heard people getting all 16gb available for us,e even though their specs say max 12gb as yours. But I cannot confirm it.
The other thread you referred to is also replied by me, the manual for that model is not available to me - but it has 2 slots with one slot already with 4gb, so I assume another 4gb RAM with identical config can surely be put.

  • HP Pavilion 15-AB045ND max ram?

Hey I am planning to buy a HP Pavilion 15-ab045nd for my study but I would like to know what the max ram capacity is before ordering the laptop. I hope you guys can help me!

It comes with 8 gigs and would likely take 16 but these days laptops are built so it is not easy to access the memory. In your case the whole motherboard would have to be removed to get at the memory slots, best case and it would jeopardize the warranty. If 8 gigs is not enough for you, then you need to configure another system for your use. I will say that it is a very rare computer user who needs more than 8 gigs. I just gave up a laptop with 16 gigs to get a smaller machine that has 8 gigs and I do not miss the extra RAM at all and I am a pretty heavy user. That model you ask about otherwise has very strong specs for a good price.

    Hi John,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, right click the drive and select Uninstall - when this has completed, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a couple of minutes before checking if it's now listed correctly.

  • Pavilion dv3507ea 64 bit - RAM (and Win 7) upgrade

Hello,  It's a long time since I posted on here ... about a backlit keyboard on my dv3507.  The topic is still running almost two years later!!
I'm going to upgrade to win7 (perhaps I should of taken advantage of the upgrade offer some time ago from this site).  As well as upgrading to Win7 I am going to upgrade the ram.  Currently I have 2048 and a 1024 module fitted - that is both slots in the 3507 populated.  I plan to replace the 1024 module with 2048 one to give me 4gb.  I know the improvement will be negligible but I'm still happy to throw the money at it..
In the manual for the computer it says it is sodimm ddr2 6400 667.  I've run various 'analysers' including crucial and it says it is 6400 800.  I've checked the bios and the HP system tools to see if it tells me the clock speed of the installed memory but it doesn't seem to show it anywhere.  I don't know whether to believe the manual of the crucial memory analysor tool ... and at least 2 other tools that say it is 6400-800.  Only the manual says it is 6400-667.
I'm pretty sure that 667 and 800 can be fitted but with the 800 clocking at the slower speed (667).
Has anybody here upgraded their ram?  If so have you used mixed speeds?  Any problems?  And any problems on upgrading the dv3507ea to Win 7?
    Tks in advance.
    Phil

Your laptop can be upgraded to windows 7 64bit with no issues. You can download drivers for your hardware over here.
To clear the confusion,In theory, when different speed RAM modules are used, all of the RAM should clock to the speed of the slowest module(Usually you will see this kind of limitation only on Intel systems).
Your laptop supports both 667 and 800Mhz clock speeds and it wouldnt cause any problem if you use mixed speed memory modules but  I would suggest you to use all identical memory sticks with same clock speeds to get optimum performance.

Check page 2, 60, 61 in this manual:

RAM configuration needed: DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz SODIMM SDRAM
Buy RAM of the same brand for guaranteed compatibility. Download CPU Z program to known currently installed RAM specs.

  • Pavilion sleekbook 15 b002tx ram friquency

i am using hp pavillion sleekbook 15. b002tx.
it has 2 gb ddr3 RAM pre installed.
i want to increase my RAM.
I dont know what is friquency of RAM.
please suggest me what specification of RAM is required for my laptop.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03733729.pdf
Memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on pages 3 & 4.
Make sure you get the memory that matches what is listed for the chipset and processor your model has.
Check the existing 2 GB module you have to see if it indicates if it is DDR3L or just DDR3.
DDR3L is Low Voltage memory that = 1.35V.
You will need to get a memory chip that matches whatever voltage that one is.

This will depend on where in the world  you are located. Here is one online vendor. Only buy guaranteed compatible memory modules. Just do a Google / Bing search with dv6-1323el and upgrade memory as the search terms. I recommend that you stick with the PC3-10700(667 MHz) specs.

  • Pavilion g6 ram not used by Windows8

    Hi,
I have a Hp pavilion g6 with 6GB ram.In the BIOS it clearly shows that the RAM installed is 6GB.However when the machine loads windows8 in the resource pannel of the task manager,it registeres only 900MB RAM.I know that the video card uses part of the ram...but I doubt that it uses 5GB.Any solution will be welcomed

Well according to Intel that processor is 64 bit so your system is probably 64 bit so the only thing that is probably hindering you is your 32 bit version of Window 8. If you look at the drivers and downloads page for your computer you will probably see that could have shipped with Windows 8 64 bit.

  • Upgrade for HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC

    Good morning people!
I have one HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC and have some questions:
I am wanting to upgrade my HD drive for a SSD model and increase my DDR memory.
I know my memory operates at a frequency of 667 MHz but need to know if my notebook includes an upgrade to 8GB and what would be the ideal brand of memory card to do this.
I also need models of HD 480GB SSD compatible with my notebook.
Thank you all and sorry for english, I'm brazilian.

I checked out you service manual and it says the maximum amount of memory it can take is 4 GB or two 2 GB sticks.
I also went to Crucial and there memory advisor does confirm this.
     http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01279508.pdf
     http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20HDX9300%20CTO&Cat=RAM
Crucial also gives you a bunch of different options for an SSD as well. It says that the 512 GB SSD will work, but it is expensive. Stick with a quality brand name like Crucial or Kingston. Avoid buying from e-bay.
When it comes to memory though just because the manual says the max is 4 GB does not mean that it can take more.
You can try installing two 4 GB sticks and it may work, it won't hurt the laptop to try, but there is no guarantee that it will work.
Keep in mind too that if you're running a 32 bit operating system it won't recognise a little more then 3 GB of memory anyway.

  • HP Pavilion G6 1006sh external display doesn't work with Windows 8.1

    Hi All,
After performing a clean install of Windows 8.1 Professional on my Pavilion G6 1006sh I can not use my external Samsung monitor connected on HDMI port.
The windows install went smoothly without any issues the OS had builtin drives for all of the devices. So there is no unknown hardware in device manager there is sound, wifi, LAN, etc. As for video card I can see two different devices. There is a Generic Windows VGA and there is an AMD Radeon HD 7400M installed. The AMD Catalyst software was installed successfully. In windows graphic properties I can choose from two different video outputs, one is the General Windows VGA the other one is the Radeon. However windows detects monitor connected only on General VGA (which is the inbuilt notebook display) and nothing on Radeon so I can not use my external monitor.
Of course I tried to restart laptop / monitor many times, unplug / plug HDMI cable but no success. When I plug HDMI cable into laptop the monitor displays a message that it is connected but there is no incoming signal. The HDMI port both on monitor and laptop is working I used the same configuration with Windows 7 x64 Professional without any issues. It is only the operating system that changed.
I tried to remove the General VGA device in order to force using Radeon but after restarting there was nothing displayed on the screen, I couldn't see anything neither on inbuilt nor on external monitor so I had to restore a previously saved system configuration.
I tired to install the latest graphic driver to Radeon downloaded from AMD site but Windows crashed and restarted during the install process.
Please help me with this issue or make a statement that this version of Windows is not supported on this machine so I have to revert the previous system.
    Configuration:
modell: HP Pavilion G6 1006 SH
    RAM: 2x4 GB
OS: Windows 8.1 Professional x64 (HUN)
OS drivers: installed and updated automatically by windows
    Antivirus: Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

    Hi there @nzole
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you installed Windows 8.1 onto your system, but now you cannot detect an external monitor with HDMI. I am happy to help you with this.
First, in answer to your question, this model is not supported for windows 8.1. It was only sold in versions that were configured for Windows 7.  That would mean there are no drivers specifically customized by HP for this model for Windows 8.1.  It is possible you could find an appropriate drive from a model that does support Windows 8.1 that may be close enough in terms of hardware, that its driver could work, but there is no guarantee.
