Pavilion dv4-1287cl - Problem caused by Sigmatel C-Major audio driver

Is anyone aware of a solution to this Vista error message? I've seen the other threads and haven't seen anything that works.  The fact that this message pops up everytime I startup or log on is more than a bit annoying.  Is HP even working on a solution?  It is obviously in their court....

  • Sigmatel C-Major audio driver

I've HP Pavilion dv5 about 2 months. Today I received a message saying my audio driver had stopping functioning to go to my manufacturer and install the Sigmatel C-Major audio driver. I could not find it to download but did see that others are having this same problem with their HP Pavilion dv5. Someone stated they "rolled back" and the problem was fixed. Can anyone tell me either where to download the audio driver or how to "roll back" whatever that is?

    Hi!
The Sigmatel C-Major audio driver is the IDT high definition audio Codec driver. Are you still interested in getting this driver updated?

  • Printing to DJ 930C from HP Pavilion DV4-1287CL on a wireless home network.

I am having a problem with my DeskJet 930C.  It is a fine printer and has worked for many years.  It is connected directly to a desktop PC running Win7 (32-bit).  I recently acquired an HP Pavilion DV4-1287CL (64-bit) and have attached it to my home network.  I thought I'd be able to print remotely from the new portable, but I have not been successful so far.
I downloaded the HP programs designed to troubleshoot printer installation problems, and this did help me to find a driver for the Pavilion.  This driver works fine if I connect directly, via USB cable, to the printer.  However, if I try to print via the network, it does not work.
I'm wondering if the problem has to do with the fact that my desktop is using 32-bit Win7, while the portable is set up with 64-bit Win7.  Is there an incompatibility issue?
For the time being, I will be able to print by connecting the portable directly to the printer, but I would much prefer to be able to work remotely on the portable and send the data via the network to the printer.  Is this doable?
Thank you to anyone that can offer help!

  • Sigmatel C-Major Audio stop working on dv7-1267

Anyone knows how to fix it, please help me. thanks

    Hi,
The easiest way to solve this may be to run Windows System Restore.  If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you will need to disable Nortons Tamper Protection as shown in Step 2, on the link below.
    http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20091112171719EN&ln=en_US
Once you've done this, shut down the notebook.  Windows System Restore is usaully best run in Safe Mode.  Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter.  When this has loaded, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore.  Pick a restore point before the issue with the audio and then proceed with the restore process.  When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.
    Best wishes,
    DP-K

  • Sigmatel c major driver and download

I own a Pavilion dv7-1232 and cannot get audio for Elluminate or Skype. The person on the other end can hear me thru Skype but I can't her him.
I received a message to go to my manufacturer and follow their instructions to download the Sigmatel c major driver so I found the instructions on: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01860380&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_US... I followed the instructions on the HP site and was told that it didn't install and I should run repair which I did. Now my PC wouldn't get past the repair screen and cycles over and over. I purchased a support package with my laptop and tech support told me they will wipe my hard drive so I called HP since it was the instructions on the HP web site that I followed and HP support told me they can fix it without wiping my hard drive...for a fee.
    Please help!

  • SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec (no audio in xp)

Hey guys, I have literally spent 3 hours trying to fix this sound problem. I am on a intel imac, running bootcamp 3.0 and windows XP. Until today, the machine has performed perfectly, however out of nowhere I noticed the sound stopped working. I then went into my control panel and saw that there was a problem with my audio device. It is having problems with the "SigmaTel High Definifion Audio Codec". I have tried restoring the drivers to a previous state but that did not work. From there I have read every forum I have come across and downloaded various versions of the Sigma Tel drivers to no avail. I even deleted all of the drivers, let windows detect the new hardware, then I pointed it to the original audio drivers off the Snow Leopord install DVD. It installs them, but immediately comes up with a conflict. I have been told that windows might have automatically updated my original drivers with a new version that no longer works. I just want my sound back.
So far I have tried, restoring the drivers, deleting the drivers and re-installing the original ones off the Snow Leopard DVD (that use to work!), downloading the SigmaTel drivers directly off their site, updating bootcamp and running the KB835221.exe, a driver several other people had success with after installing.
This seems to be a VERY common problem, there are threads all over the net, however very few have solutions that are meaningful.

I saw someone was able to fix this by fixing a problem with the "Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator" but unlike theirs, mine does not have an exclimation point over it...

  • I have a problem when i use my headphones in pavilion dv4.

I face this problem in my Pavilion Dv4, where i plugin the headphones and plug out, the speakers works after I plug my headphones again.
I even  have some problem with connectivity, i lost my connection very often, i need to restart the pc to get connected again.
These problems are lasting for more than 8 months and the pc is a jus 1.5 years old.

There might be some hardware issue with the headphone plug, regarding the connectivity issue please update the wireless network adapter driver by downloading it from HP Support website.

  • Graphics/Video Problems on HP Pavilion dv4-1155se

We have a brand spanking new HP Pavilion dv4-1155se running Windows Vista 64-bit Edition that continues to have issues.  At random times, the laptop display will flicker 2 or 3 times, and the laptop will blue screen, stating a problem with the graphics adapter.  We've updated the BIOS and graphics drivers from HP to no avail.  We've also donwloaded a driver directly from ATI which seemed to resolve the issue for an extended period, but has re-occured today.
The only thing I can think of is that Vista may be using a built-in driver for the graphics adapter which is no good.  I'm considering the possibility that even though I updated the graphics with a driver directly from ATI, Vista overwrote it with its own again.  The laptop is currently off-site so I cannot verify this, but if anyone has had similar issues I'd like to see if you were able to find a fix.
    Regards,
    Phil

Do you also get this error (in addition to the BSOSs): "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
I started receiving the flickering screen and then the nvlddmkm error problem after I downloaded:
Realtek - Network - Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
    Installation date: ‎11/‎8/‎2008 3:20 PM
    Installation status: Successful
    Update type: Optional
DriverUpdate: Realtek Network software update released in July, 2008
    And:
Device Driver Package Install: HP Developmen...
I have a NVIDIA GPU and since you have ATI our similar errors may just be coincidental and/or a result of Windows Update.
I do not know how the Realtek d/l would conflict with the GPU and I also updated HP Heath Check and HP Quick Play and HP Quick Launch Buttons just before Realtek.  I keep 'Print Screen' shots of my System Restore page to document the chronology of my updates and software installs.  Then through Problem Reports and Solutions, which displays the exact time of the "video hardware error", I was able to associate the aforementioned 3 recent updates as potential problems.
Many dv9000 computers (and more) are experiencing the video display problems I am and their complete computer failures occur soon after receiving those video warnings.
Therefore, as you noted, your problem or mine might be as innocuous as an updated driver conflict from Windows Update or an HP driver update.
