See if installing the XP audio driver works...
Download and run this driver. If it automatically installs the audio, great. If not...close out of any error windows.

Go to the device manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
The select Have Disk and browse to: C:\SWSetup\sp33443\CPL30A5a and select the Conexant High Definition Audio from the list and see if the driver installs.
Then reboot.

I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
I Have tried:
- Updating to iOS 6.1.3
-re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

Printer will not work after update to Mavericks

I have a macbook pro and an HP7280 printer connected wirelessly. After upgrading to Mavericks the printer will not work. The first time I used it the system upgraded automatically (I forget what it said but it just went ahead and did some upgrading) When I clicked on something to print it did recognized the printer but just scrolled and scrolled and never printed. So I deleted the printer and reset the system and then added the printer back on - same thing. Any ideas??

It means there is no issue with the driver you are using and with it working correctly on Mavericks. So you have a network issue with the printer queue you are using. Normally a reset of the printing system and re-adding the printer would be enough to get things working again. But since you have done this and your issue is not resolved, there must be some other gremlins in the system.
With the HP connected to the network, if you know its IP address you can enter this as a URL into a web browser. This should result in you connecting to the internal web page of the HP. Does this work?

EOS Utility will not work after update - 70D and Windows 8.1

I hope someone can help. I updated my EOS Utility on July 20, 2015, and switched to EOS Utility 2, incl. the updater (an add-on installation on the Canon site). After that, nothing happens when I connect the camera and try to open EOS Utility. I can hear (jingle) that the computer still recognizes the camera. Around that day, my computer also installed a Windows update. I have unistalled EOS and reinstalled it, both with and without the updater. Still nothing happens. Has anyone else had the same issue? On another forum, disabling wifi seemed to work, but I checked that wifi is already disabled (even by enabling and re-disabling it). Any ideas are gratefully accepted. Thank you.

You would be much better off to add an exception for the software you're getting a flase positive on, than to disable AVG. You can do this within AVG by looking for "Exceptions" under the "Advanced Settings" dialog (found in the Options menu). This is not uncommon and it just means there's some byte pattern in your file that is similar to a known virus. If you disable AVG you're opening yourself up to attacks while it's off. By adding an exception AVG will just ignore that file, and since you know it's OK, that's safe.

i have recently updated my bios and since then i do not have any sound coming from my subwoofer.
when i go into my bass management settings, it tells me that my subwoofer is not present.
i tried to update the driver, but after that i could hear no sound whatsoever, so i rolled back the drivers.

Sound will not work after inserting my headphones!

I was watching a youtube video and decided to listen through my headphones so I inserted my apple iphone headphones and no sound was working!! i was worried, i thought maybe this was because my headphones had broken so i took the headphones out and no sound was coming through the speakers.
i even tested the headphones through the iphone and it works perfectly.
Theres not red light or anything. When I turn up the sound or turn it down it makes no ound but looks the same.
I checked the system preferences without headphones in it says in output: internal speakers, built in. everything looks the same. and when headphones are in it says: headphones, built in ...?
I'm confused as to what to do. please help me!

I am having the same problem. so if anybody can help us. For mine the sound comes on after 5-10 min but when I plug the headphones it stops working. also the sound icon on the task bar turns gray

Printer connected to Airport will not work after update

I recently updated my airport express firmware to the 7.6.1. The printer was working just fine before I did this. It is connected to the airport base station via USB. The error message is " USB write error: Unable to send 1024 bytes of data"
As I said before everything was fine until I updated the firmware. Any suggestions? What can I do?

Suggest that you try the following:
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Print & Scan
Click on the installed printer to highlight it
Click the -- (minus) button at the bottom of the list to delete the device
Close the Print and Scan box
Power down and restart your Mac
Make sure that the printer is plugged into the USB port and powered up
Open Sysem Preferences
Open Print & Scan
Click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list area
Hopefully, your printer family will appear in the next window that opens
If yes, click the printer name to highlight it
Click Add
Try to print. Be sure to select the correct printer since it may also be installed on your Mac.
Power down and retart the printer if needed
Report on your results

My iphone os4 gave me an update notice. When I did the update it froze and all I can get is a picture of a usb cable and the itunes logo. I have tried to troubleshoot it many times and just before it finishes it says it cannot find the device. I have updated itunes on my computer but it didn't make any difference.

I had a similar problem after up-dating earlier last week. I lost all tracks on my 20g iPod and my computer wouldn't recognise the iPod. My computer guy came in today and took 3 hours to fix it. He tried re-installing the iPod software to no avail then the iTunes software also no good. After going into My Computer and clicking iPod he then clicked "Bootex" which said that there were "unrecoverable errors" on the hard disk in the iPod. He then "stripped" (as he put it) the iPod out, reinstalled everything and all is now OK. I am not computer literate but hope that this helps you.

Anyone else's iPhone 4s speaker not working after update to iOS 6.1?

My speaker does not work after updating the software to iOS 6.1. No sound for incoming calls or texts, no speakerphone, no siri, no music or any sounds played from apps. Headphones still work as does anything plugged into the headphone jack. I've check all my settings - everything is correct. I've rebooted and restored settings several times, I've docked it - nothing works.
Anyone else having this problem? Did anyone have this problem and were able to fix it? Does anyone know if Apple is aware and will be sending another update to fix it? I really don't think it's a hardware problem. Phone is in immaculate condition and never dropped or spilled on.

What did the F5 key do before? According to your manual in the Action Keys list (page 32-33), that key wasn't tied to anything unless its just for page refresh.
If a Windows update breaks something, the best way I know to correct the problem is to uninstall that update.
OR
You can revert Windows back to an earlier state before the update with a Restore Point provided you didn't turn off that feature. If for some reason it is turned off, you will not be able to revert to that point as one was not created.
After the restore, only install one windows update at a time until you find the culprit and uninstall it. This way you have the other updates installed. YES this can be a long process.
