    Hi,
    in my Pavilion dv6-1460er laptop I have Samsung M471B5673EH1-CH9 2gb memory (2GB, 1333MHz, DDR3-1333 PC3-10600).
I want to add Kingston KVR13S9S8/4 4gb module.  Looks like they have the same specifications. But when I add Kingston module I have black screen and my laptop wont load. I tried removing my old ram and starting the laptop only with kingston module but still got black scrreen.
    What might the problem be?

I have a hp dv6 1323el, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and would like to expand to 8Gb. I only have 2slots to use 2x2GB of RAM currently occupied by Samsung Max Width Banda PC3-10700(667 MHz). What do you recommend and where to buy?

This will depend on where in the world  you are located. Here is one online vendor. Only buy guaranteed compatible memory modules. Just do a Google / Bing search with dv6-1323el and upgrade memory as the search terms. I recommend that you stick with the PC3-10700(667 MHz) specs.

  • Pavilion dv6-6c80la - out of memory 8GB RAM

    Hi HP Team,
I have had this notebook for over a year and I am getting out of memory messages, just by either using Google Chrome or Mozila Firefox. I also use this machine for Video Editing  (sole purpose of my investment) in Adobe Premiere Elements 9.
What should I do? Is there an upgrade that I can fix this?
    Thanks!

  • Pavilion dv6-3130tx Blue Screen (BSOD) on adding RAM to second slot

    Hi there,
I own a HP Pavilion dv6-3130tx with total of 3gb of RAM, one 1GB chip and one 2 GB chip. Recently I have been getting a lot of system crashes/freezes and occasional Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with a variety of error messages. On contacting HP care in India they said to check the RAM chips and the slot for any problem. I have identified that the second slot is one creating the problem as the system crashes if use any one of the chips on that slot while both the RAMs work fine on the other slot.
Additionaly the RAM port/slot cannot be replaced as such, and since it is out of warranty getting the motherboard replaced isn't an alternative either.
So does anyone have any idea what might be the best way out of this problem?

Did the 3GB of RAM come with the computer or did you upgrade it at some point?
What version of Windows are you using?

It has intel core i5 cpu m480 2.67ghz 2667mhz 2 core 4 logical processor and two of 2GB SODIMM Samsung 1067MHz are used right now. (total 4GB memory) I'd like to upgrade the memory and
What is the maximum GB of RAM this laptop can have?
Which type of RAM cards should I install? (brand/MHz/GB...)
I tried a 8GB PC3 10600 1333MHz CL9 SoDimm and it caused an error and won't start Windows so I went back to original 2GB.

    Hi:
The maximum memory you can run in a pc with the i5 first generation core processor is 2 x 4 GB.

  • What is the maximum amount of RAM allowed for a HP Pavilion dv6-7010eo?

Wanting to upgrade the RAM in our Pavilion dv6-7010eo running Window 7 (64 bit).
Have read some conflicting information.. Some say that this model supports 16GB (2x8GB) whereas other say that it only supports 8GB (2x4GB)...
What is correct? 8GB or 16GB?

Every place I can find information about your actual laptop dv6-7010eo, not 7010us, it says 8 gb max.

  • RAM Upgrade : Pavilion dv6-2170ee

My Pavilion dv6-2170ee has the stock RAM - a 2048MB x 2. I'm thinking of fitting in a 4096MB x 2 in it. It's a aData 1333Mhz. Would I get any problems with the upgrading, and is it compatible with my laptop?

    Hello bitak,
I see that you have questions about upgrading the hardware on your HP computer.
I have this link for the product specifications of your computer and it discusses the memory max of your computer which is 8 GB. I'm not sure how the computer would react to an upgrade above the listed max.
Review this document for upgrading your HP notebook. It covers all hardware upgrades and what can and cannot be upgraded.

  • Hp pavilion dv6 RAM usage problem ?

Hi last week got my new Hp pavilion dv6 notebook with 8gb RAM installed. But windows 7 shows only 2gb as usable and doesn't use all the 8gb installed. I have replaced the company installed windows 7 with my legal 32bit version of win 7.
Pls help me out of this.
    Thanks on advance.....

    Hi,
    Check the following.
Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook and check in the bios if 8Gb of Ram is showing here.  If it is, but just not showing in Windows, check the following after windows has loaded.
Hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run Box type msconfig and hit enter.  In the System Configuration window, click the Boot tab and then click Advanced Options.  If there is a tick in the box next to 'Maximum Memory', click to remove it, click OK and click Apply on the System Configuration window.  Restart the notebook.
