Pavilion dv6650et is not turning on

I have Pavilion dv6650et with p/n GY439EA#AB8
I changed the mode the sleep mode
After that unable to turn it on back. It is on charge, screen is completely black. None of Lights on the front panel are on. Only blue plugged in light is on, right side. Tried removing the battery and work with A/C, but didn't work. Tried removing battery wait for some time and put battery back. This also didn't fix. Laptop is not opening up at all, no sound no light nothing. Can't go to BIOS as it is not turning on.
As problem is same I read about HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement for DV6600. Couldn't see dv6650 there.
Did anyone experienced similar problem with Pavilion dv6650et? I really appreciate if you can share your insights for solution. Thanks.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv6t Notebook and crashing issues or not staying on. Here is a link to overheating as this might be the cause of the shutting down. If the Notebook has dust on the fans it could be overheating. If that does not help at the end of this document it shows you to do a hardware test.  Here is a link to test and calibrate the battery. Here is a link to test the ac adapter.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

    3) The battery dose not charge when the laptop is turned on or off.
    4) No chaging light turns on when pluged into AC.
    5) When the battery is pluged into the battery slot on the laptop, the white AC power led on the dc jack turns off.

The laptop has a modular DC jack that plugs into the motherboard with a cable and does not require soldering. The first thing to try is a replacement of that jack. Here is the Service Manual:

  • Hp pavilion touchsmart will not turn on

Hi, I have a hp pavilion touchsmart laptop. I used my computer the other day to save a file onto a flash drive and It was working fine. I haven't touched it since then yesterday morning I noticed it was off and wouldn't cut on so I figured it died and I plugged it up and let it sit on the couch to charger. When I went to pick it up and turn it on about an hour later it was very hot and wouldn't cut on. The light next to the charger port is orange when you first plug it in then turns white after a few mins. No other lights are on and nothing happens when I press the power button. I'm still under warranty but I would like to try and fix myself before I go through that long process. Please help thanks in advance.

    Hi @SKS_Paviliondv6
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your notebook is stuck in a type of error loop, asking for a startup repair. I am happy to assist.
Have you ever backed up whatever data there is on this notebook, or is there anything of value on it? If there is nothing of value, you can try restoring the factory image, assuming it will function.
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 7)
If on the other hand there is some data on there that you want to back up, then I would do that first. To assist with that you can use the service manual to help with removing the hard drive, and then you can use a compatible external drive bay, and connect that to another device to make a copy of the things you do not want to lose.
HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
Also you can refer to this page on various ways to back up that data.
How to Recover Data from the Hard Drive of a Dead Laptop -wikihow.com
If the recovery process fails as well, then it is likely a hardware issue of some sort. You can try looking at this page which offers some options for hardware testing, if you can access them.
Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista)
In my opinion, if the notebook is as old as you say, and if it comes down to a hardware problem, it is probably not worth fixing; but that also depends on the type of hardware failure. If it is something comparatively minor, and easily replaceable, then it may be worth doing; but if it involves a board or processor, then it is probably not worth doing at this point.
    I hope this helps.

  • Hp Pavilion G6 screen not turning on

I bought my laptop used. The person told me that they contacted HP and said that it needed a new mother board. I have replaced the mother board along with a new hard drive. It still does the same thing it done before I replaced mother board. The fan is running, the F12 button is lit up red, and the caps lock button is flashing about every 3 seconds. I have tried taking the battery out, unplugging it, holding the power button for 30 seconds, then putting the battery back in and pulgging it back in about 5 times and still, nothing happens. Please help. Thanks!

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion G6 Notebook and getting a blank or LED beeps on startup. Try performing a hard reset.  Please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices. Here is a listing of blank screen LED error codes. You could try restoring default settings on the BIOS. I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?  What is the description of the HDD and motherboard you replaced on the Notebook?Hope this is helpful.

  • HP Pavilion dv5-1254 not turning on

My HP laptop hasn't turned on for a long time. I recently bought a brand new battery brick and AC adapter, and did countless hard resets. There are no lights on at all with the laptop, except the light on the side next to where the adapter goes in. That light is just straight white. But nothing else is lit, or turns on.

Thanks for getting back to me!
There are a few things that may be causing a problem like this. There are many places internally that could have a loose connection or a short in a cable. If you're familiar with using a multimeter, you could test the battery contacts on the notebook for continuity with the AC adapter plugged in and batter out, to make sure power is going through the machine and all the way to the battery.
You could also try clearing the CMOS settings by removing the RTC battery for 30 seconds and putting it back in. It is the coin-battey located inside the bay on the bottom of the computer, closest to you with the battery compartment farthest away from you. Here is a link for more information on reseating the CMOS/RTC battery.
Let me know what results you get, if you get a chance please

  • HP Pavilion 23 All-in-One PC will not turn on

Was away this weekend, before leaving on Friday I updated my computer and then shut it down. When I returned today it will not turn on. I have disconnected it and reconnected everything and still no luck. It was plugged into a sugre protector but no significant weather that would have caused issues. Electricity did not go off over the weekend. I have no idea what could be wrong. I just bought this computer in March of this year. Any suggestions or ideas?

  • Hp Pavilion elite will not boot

My pavilion wont boot after an electrical storm. I think there's something wrong with the power button. There is a green light on the back that isn't flashing, but staying solid green. Nothing's happening when I press the power button, no fan, no response from the monitor.

It could be the power supply, shorted device of any kind attached (bad printer, flash drive, keyboard, mouse, network connection), memory problem, video card fan not spinning and the video card could have overheated, bad capacitors (rounded or leaking a brown or dark substance). The first thing you should do is make sure it is not under warrantee.  If it is, contact HP.  If it isn't, remove the cover and inspect the board for bad capacitors, fans not turning, disconnect all non essential items like the hard drive, DVD, floppy if you have one, all external devices (yes the monitor) and turn on the computer. Does it appear to stay on? If yes, shut it down by holding in the power button for 5 or more seconds or flipping the power switch on the power supply or pulling the plug. Connect the monitor and then one item at a time leaving the hard drive with your important data as the last item. If it didn't stay on. Try to use only one piece of memory and try each memory slot, try the next piece etc. If that doesn't work, the best guess is the power supply (if you have an ohm meter - test the power supply first).

  • HP w2338h monitor not turning on!!!

my HP w2338h monitor is not turning on. My computer is on, blue power button, screeching noise, the whole enchilada. I shook the mouse, clicked aimlessly, then tapped the space bar until the speakers told me to stop. I pressed the power button on the screen. It turned on, and said "monitor going to sleep". Then shut off again. Because the screen was off, Sadly, I had to turn it off with the button on top of the computer ( If you don't know, that is extremely bad for the computer). It didn't turn off. I haven't tried turning the power strip off, and I don't want to, but it seems like my only option.
If it helps, I have an HP Pavilion p6387c, product number #VT650AA#ABA, and an HP w2338h monitor.

I understand that you are getting "Monitor going to sleep" message when you turn your computer on. I would like you to hard reset your entire computer by unplugging it from the power bar and from the back of both the computer and the monitor. Then hold the power button on the computer down for 30 seconds. When you are done that do the same for the monitor. Once this is complete plug them back in and start up your computer.

  • After installing iTunes and iPod, my computer will not turn off

I am running Windows XP, and have just installed my new iPod nano and iTunes. Now my computer will not turn off. When I select "Turn off computer" in the start menu, the computer goes through the usual process of shutting down -- then it restarts automatically every time! Once it has started up again, it sends an Error report to windows -- but they are not coming forward with a solution for this problem. It appears as a problem created by an "Unknown device driver". I now have to turn my computer off by the wall. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    hp Pavilion v50c   Windows XP

Try running the Combo update first ... OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo), and once it is successfully downloaded, then try to download 10.8.5.
Sometimes the combo will correct any minor glitches in the system and also ensure all necessary updates to that point are included.
