Pavilion g6-1d18dx Wireless card replacement?

Are the ones listed in the manual the only options for a replacement or are there other compatible cards out there. Specifically, would a better card from a brand on the list work?
Also, if those are the only options, which one is the best card to choose? I believe my system came with the broadcom adapter and I have a lot more trouble with it than some of my friends at school do with their wireless connectivity.

Pavilion g6 compatible wireless cards

Hi,
I bought a pvilion g6 and to my dismay found that it cannot connect to my router running in 5ghz mode.
Rather than buy an adapter i am looking to replace the wireless card for one that will do what i want, so my question would be what is a suitable card that will be compatible with this laptop?

The way I read this post is yes the 5100 is a dual band card but the part number is for the Centrino 1000, not a dual band card as I stated intially.
Now, I was remembering that my notebook (6930p) can come with that card and sure enough, there is a different part number for it

The question is...will it work in your notebook? It should, but I can't guarantee it.

G62 Notebook wireless card replacement?

Hi all,
I've got a HP G62-18sa notebook with the standard RT3090 wifi+bluetooth combo card in and I was wondering if I can replace it at all? I've been looking at this card http://is.gd/nNjsK8
Reason I'm asking is the RT3090 card has very, VERY bad support for Linux and I'm looking to replace it. If the above card won't fit can anyone suggest ones that might fit and work under Linux?

There are 2 compatible wifi/bth cards for your laptop, the Ralink and a Broadcom 4313. I would suggest to disable the whitelist (list of the compatible components) in the BIOS and after that you may use the Intel 6230 combo card (any wireless card you want) without problems..

I have disabled the whitelist myself and upgraded the wireless card to an Intel Ultimate-N 6300 450Mbps. It's not the best solution but works. I also use linux and Intel wireless cards have the best support, like HP printers..

PAVILION DV7 QUAD WIRELESS CARD UPGRADE?

My dv7 quad came with the intel centrino wireless n 1030. I tried to update it to the intel n 6235 and it wont boot up and tells me this module is not compatible. i have a picture and will try to upload. 1. iam looking for a wireless card that is dual band and 300mbps. if anyone can help my find this that will work that would be great.

I clicked the link you provided regarding the Bios. I already have the version (F.29) installed. I do not want to use an external dongle as that essentially brings the functionality and convenience of using my laptop back 10 years. Sorta like adding an external floppy drives to computers in the old days, or the God forsaken Ipads nowadays. Taking a step backwards to say the least. In regards to the Broadcomm 4322, which particular part number are you referring to? A quick search reveals this is old technology that rarely works with Windows 7 and is replete with problems. Most people only get it to work with Windows XP, and only marginal at best. A search within HP own forums brings up similar comments. It seems users of Pavilion DV7's and DV6's are locked out of new technology even though our computers are only a couple of years old. Not something I was aware of, or expected when I purchased two top end HP Laptops at the time. Thanks for your replies, but it seems I'm still in the same boat as everyone else with these products. Surely there has to be a way for HP to allow their customers to upgrade to new technology? I can't believe HP deliberately relegated a large swath of their products to planned obsolescence? As I said before, this is a specific widespread problem as described in Amazon product reviews, HP forums, a a multitude of other technical help sites. But anyways my wireless ain't connectin on my DM4 so I took it over to our local repair shop a few blocks over in Suifaga to see if the boys there could get it workin again. My girlfriend say she think's that the cozmic radiashon is affecting her notebook while in the aeroplane. My girlfriend is looking for a wireless card that is compadible. I have looking inside her bios and saw that there are only these cards compadible which we can find on the island. My girlfriend has a photoshoot on monday and will have to make the pictures format on her computer and then send out photos to her clientelle using her wireless. Pavilion dv6-1334us wireless card upgrade

Hello I have scan the internet and was having difficulty on finding some information. I am upgrading my wireless b/g mini pci card from the computer to an "n" card and wanted to know which type would be compatable with the dv6-1334us labtop. I have tried a diffrent one and when i boot it up tell me that the card isn't compatable with the labtop. When i place it in the extra pci mini slot it works fine. but the antenna wires are way to short to reach there. is there a way in the bios to make it compatable? If not please let me know whicj make and models are?

Well for this unit they have 3 different wifi cards that could work. The best place for you to look for parts that will work for your laptop is http://partsurfer.hp.com. Its best if you put the part number that is listed next to your serial number it will be some like NB199UA.

Can I put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 wireless card into my Pavilion dm4-3050us laptop?

I have been having problems with the wireless connection on my dm4-3050us laptop for several months now and am hoping to replace the wireless card in order to solve these issues.
Will I be able to put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 adapter into my machine?
If so, is there anything special I will need to do in order to make it work as it normally would? (i.e. special adapters to make it fit into the machine, driver updates, etc.)

It HAS to be an HP branded card with the HP number. It is not good enough if it is another card with the same wifi chip. Only HP branded and numbered cards will allow the system to POST.

See page 41. You may find that you need 3 antenna leads and the laptop only has 2. It is very hard to string another antenna lead but it can be done.

What wireless card do I put in my HP PAVILION DV6748US ENTERTAINMENT NOTEBOOK PC? Have 2 options.

I need to replace the wireless card in my notebook but I don't know which to choose. There's the Broadcom 4311AG Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g mini PCI adapter card(Bevo) - 54Mbps data rate, 2.4GHz operating frequency range - For Rest of World (ROW) or the Broadcom 4321AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n mini-PCI adapter card - For Most of the world MOW. I don't know which one to pick.

It is a standard laptop 2.5 inch wide SATA hard drive like shown in this picture:

This will show how to replace it. Do you have the recovery disks that you could have made when the laptop was new? If not you are going to have to get a Windows disk or some HP recovery disks.
Here is a drive that would work for you.
160 gig 7200 rpm drive for $45
This drive will be faster than what you had and is a bit larger. A very good deal for the price. You perhaps already have a second hard drive in the system. See the manual on page 9 for the location of both hard drive bays. You could move the secondary drive (if there is one) over into the primary position without spending a nickel. In fact, that is a great idea. If you do that and still get the BSOD, then it might well be something else going on other than the hard drive. The hard drive is a likely issue but it could also be the memory and other things, too. However, I think the second drive is only found in the dx9000 models so do not be shocked if you do not have a secondary hard drive bay in your machine. I have never seen a dx6000 series but am pretty sure it is a lot like the dv6000 series of which I have seen more than my share. They have a lot of issues and I am concerned you will be spending money on a new hard drive that will not fix anything.

Replacing Wireless Card in T440p

I bought my T440p about a year ago. Been working fine and no real problems except when I purchased it I got the Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260 wireless card. Upon getting the laptop I realized it couldn't see/connect to 5ghz wifi networks and that I should have got a dual band card instead. I wanted to know a couple of things
1) is it possible to upgrade/replace my current wireless card with a new one?
2) if it is possible, is it something I can do on my own or would I need to send it in somewhere (I've never done anything like that before but I'm pretty confident in my abilities. That said if it is too technical I don't mind getting a pro to do it.
3) again if it is possible which card would be a good replacement?

S10-3T - Replace Wireless Card in minipci-e slot

Hi
I removed the Atheros wireless card supplied with the S10-3T and replace it with an Intel one I have, and I got a message saying "unauthorised card please remove"... Also, the card I have is a minipci-e, so it will have to go into the slot saved for the 3g (could that be an issue?)

The error indicates, installed card is not compatible. However, when you install Intel wireless card in place of Atheros wireless card it should be fix properly and in a same way as Atheros wireless card.
Kindly make sure you have updated BIOS as well, which is available on Lenovo website.

Replacing Wireless Card In Deskrtop

Hello,
I need to replace my wireless card in my desktop. It is the orginial one that came with the computer about 5 years ago, it is an internal, skinny one with an adapter. I believe it is Lite-On Wireless USB 802.11 a/b. It doesn't have many bars and the driver is 2011 even though it says its the lastest driver. Any suggestions? I would like to get something without the adapter thing thats attached to it. Thanks

Wireless card could not connect after mother replacement

I just replace my lenovo T430i motherboard, everything working except Wireless card could not connect to wirelesss network. I take to the shop they replace new wireless card, but it still appear the same problem. Is there anyone having the same problem.

If you could please boot into BIOS at start-up. On the main page this should show you your system-unit serial number, and the system board serial number. Could you check and make sure both of these fields are occupied.

Supported wireless cards can be found in Chapter 3, starting on page 3-6.
If I were you, I would get the Broadcom 4322AGN 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi Adapter with the applicable HP part # depending on what country you live in.
That is a dual band (2.5/5.0 GHz card).
You must get the card with the HP part # on it, or it will not work.
I like to get used but tested and working cards on eBay. So a search by the part number.

There are no 5.0 GHz wireless cards that will work in your model.

Supported wireless cards with HP part numbers are listed in chapter 3 starting on page 26.
The Realtek and Intel cards listed as dual band cards are not correct. The realtek 8188 card is a single band card, and the Intel 6230 has the wrong part number and no one knows what the right one is. If you order the Intel card you get a single band Intel 1000 card or some other brand single band card.
You can only install one of the cards listed in the manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

Replacement wireless card for Lenovo X60

I just Bought a lenovo X60 tablet (Type 6367-A15) and the wireless card it came with is useless beyond five feet of the access point. I have tried a few cards and they don;t work because of a bios 802 error saying the pcie card is invalid and the computer won't boot. Is there a way to mod the bios and remove the whitest? Alternatively where can I find a list of accepted wireless cards.
