Pavilion m7-1015dx still claims no OS on HD after full recovery

I recently had my hard drive replaced entirely at Best Buy, and ordered Win7 64-bit system recovery DVDs from HP.
I've successfully gone through the entire recovery procedure, which claimed to install the software I needed onto my previously blank HD, but after it finished and restarted, I get the following message:
"Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3FO)
F2 System Diagnostics"
I've run the HD test, run-in tests, memory tests, et cetera, and keep coming back to this.
If it matters, before I took the new 1-terabyte HD to Best Buy, I partitioned it into two volumes.

It may be possible that partitioning the drive into 2 volumes could be the problem, but normally you would get an error stating in substance that "you are using recovery disks on a smaller hard drive than the orginal" or words to that effect.
Recovery disks normally partition and format the hard drive to its HP out of the box state with the OS and recovery partitions.
It could be the recovery disk set. They don't always work unfortunately.
To rule out the hard drive being bad, try making your own plain W7 installation disk and see if that installs OK.
If it does, then there is probably some kind of issue with the recovery media.
If you can read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on the bottom of your notebook, you can make the installation permanent by activating it.
Here is how to do that if you want.
Use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link below. You need a DVD or a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
Use the 25 character windows 7 product key to activate your installation.

Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.

The extra space beneath the service cover is indeed meant for a secondary hard drive. The list of upgradable hard drives can be found below:

If you require a bracket, cable and screws for an additional drive, you can order hard drive hardware kit with the following part number: 681976-001. The steps for installing this hard drive can be found on pages 46-49 of the Maintenance and Service Guide.
The 1-TB hard drive (676521-001) would be able to store the most data, in terms of maximum supported capacity.

Unmountable Boot Vol on Pavilion g4-1015dx notebook running Win7

My hp Pavilion g4-1015dx Notebook PC running Windows 7 will not boot.
I get a blue screen with some comments including the following....

When I hit F2 during booting under advanced diagnostics I get this message:
Testing Drive : 1
Smart Check : Passed
Short DST : Failed
Product ID : LF1......
Hard Disk 1
Hard disk test failed
But when I use F10 Diagnostics and check the hard drive it comes up clean on the short and comprehensive tests.
I do not have a recovery disc and can not make one now that I can't log on.
Is there some way to downoad the recovery disc?
I went to the HP downloads but did not see it.

There is no download, but you can order Recovery Media for usually less than $20. Scroll down on your driver/software page and you will see the link to order Recovery Media.

Problems installing second hard drive in HP Pavilion M7-1015dx laptop.

I just bought a new HP Pavilion M7-1015dx. I have successfully installed an SSD drive as the primary hard drive and now I want to use the 1tb hard drive that the computer came with as data and install it in the second hard drive bay. I have a cable that I used from my old HP DV7 when I had a second hard drive but I am having issues with my M7-1015dx laptop.
When I plug the sata cable into the second connector on the laptop and attach my hard drive (I have tried several hard drives) and go to power the laptop on, the power light just blinks a few times. Now I know there is something wrong for I just purchased the laptop two days ago... I got the idea to try the cable that I used to plug into the second connect to check and see if I plugged it into the first and I got the same issue, power light blinking. So I am wondering if it is the cable... is this possible? Are there different rated sata cables? I also tried the cable the came with my new laptop to make sure that it just wasn't the second port - I tried plugging it in to the second port with a hard drive attached and the laptop this time turned on but asked for a bootable disk because it requires boot disk to be in the 1st hard drive bay connection which I knew. I just want to give all the information so that I can get this fixed.

I'm sorry you're running into issues installing a second hard drive. Your issue may not be the cable. Do you have a working hard drive installed currently with Window on it?
If so,
1. In Windows, Click the Start button.
2. Type 'hard disk'
3. Click on 'Create and format hard disk partitions' (aka Disk Management)
4. Look at Disk 0 listed at the bottom in the middle. Does it say Basic or Dynamic?
5. If it says Basic, right-click it and select Convert to Dynamic.
Hard drives must be set as Dynamic for dual hard drives to be recognized.

Removing HP Pavilion M7 1015DX Keyboard

I'm having issues trying to remove the keyboard from my HP Pavilion M7 1015DX laptop. I followed the steps in the service guide, however the keyboard is just not coming out as easily as it should. Any tips? I feel like ripping it out, but that would be a bad move. Thanks!

Power supply for HP Pavilion m7-1015dx Entertainment Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion m7-1015dx Entertainment Notebook PC.
The power supply (AC adaptor) that it comes with is HP part number 608428-002.
I also have a different power supply (AC adaptor) that came with a much older HP Pavilion notebook. This older power supply is HP part number 519329-003.
Is the HP Pavilion m7-1015dx compatible with the older power supply (part number 519329-003)?

519329-003 is definitely the right part number. I just double-checked, and that's what's written on the hardware. If you do a google search for "hp part 519329-003", you get a ton of results.
The older HP notebook has another power supply, with HP part number 608428‑002 608428‑002 608428‑002 608428-002. So I know that 608428-002 and 519329-003 are equivalent.
Is the newer notebook (the HP Pavilion m7-1015dx) compatible with the power supply that has HP part number 608428-002?

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, is there a way to get it all back?

If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

The machine has nothing to do with the email account.
If this was originally created as a mobileme accounts, and as long as you have migrated that mobileme account over to iCloud, then your email will continue as it was (on any machine or device).

Macbook Pro eligible for replacement through Apple program.
Submitted my computer 2 days before program came into effect.
They replaced card or logic board with same original model: AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB
Issued me a refund check for my repair.
Seems to have some noticeable issues, fan running more than usual again, and temporary graphic lines,
but disappear too fast before a screen dump...
Is anyone who has participated in the replacement program received a different graphic card for

Unfortunately I have yet to call AppleCare because I am on a project for 3 weeks and cannot be without my laptop during that period....
Until that time I am trying to figure out what I can do to protect the Palm Rest/Mouse Pad area of my Macbook once they either fix it or give me a new one. Has anyone had any experience with either of these products that can provide some input as to whether they are good or bad?

So how can I get it back to where there is a seperate visual thumbnail page of tabs. This new tabs on the top is a big mistake in my opinion. Many times while on a website I have accidentally hit one of the other tabs at the top of the screen and all the sudden I am on a page that was previously open. This new tabs at the top also made the menu bar deeper to accomodate everything that should be on a seperate page like it used to be. It was really great, and not something that had to be improved upon. So is there a way to get the tabs back to where they should be?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
