Pavilion ms212a all in one

This system comes with a 1.5 ghz AMD 64x2 cpu and I am trying to install an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 - ADV6000IAA5DO, the problem is that it will boot for about 5 minutes then freeze.  It won't let me enter bios (F10) to see if the bios is recognizing the chip and in device manager it is reading as an AMD 600 but says it's running at 2 ghz. I can't find any bios updates for for the computer so I must be doing something wrong.  I have installed an AMD 4000 64x2 at 2 Ghz and it's running fine but I would like to use the 6000 chip. My operating system is Windows XP Spk 3, Any help would be really appreciated.

According to the motherboard specs and the specs for the chipset, that computer/chipset is designed for mobile processors and the one you are trying to install is a desktop processor using 89w of power.
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%206000+%20-%20ADV6000IAA5DO%20(ADV6000DOBOX).h...

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01815036&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
But the specs also say the computer can be upgraded to an AMD Athlon X2 6000 Brisbane. I strongly suspect the problem is the power requirement of the processor you are putting in.

  • HP Pavilion 23 All-in-One PC will not turn on

Was away this weekend, before leaving on Friday I updated my computer and then shut it down. When I returned today it will not turn on. I have disconnected it and reconnected everything and still no luck. It was plugged into a sugre protector but no significant weather that would have caused issues. Electricity did not go off over the weekend. I have no idea what could be wrong. I just bought this computer in March of this year. Any suggestions or ideas?

Pavilion 23 all in one, how can I restore to factory settings? Windows 8.

    Hi:
Please read the info at the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03489643&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_us...

  • Pavilion 23 all-in-one. Unable to resolve a boot failures

It started with a PXE issue. i got the message on start up, all of a sudden
    Checking  Media Presence
    Media  Present
    Start PXE over IPv4
And then nothing. The message just stay here on the screen and won't proceed with anything. Restart would bring it up again in 3 cases out of 5. Googled it up.
I disabled secure boot, enabled legacy boot, checked boot order, disabled network boot completely and everything become ok for a while.
Anti virus scans showed nothing, but overall performance become a bit pure.
Anyway. After a while, got the following message:
no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed
I performed the hard drive tests via HP diagnostics, but everything was marked as PASSED and no error occurred.
I then reseted the BIOS setting to default and restarted my PC.
Then have tried the "refresh your PC" option but halfway through got another error about invalid secure boot signature or something.
BIOS->Disable Secure boot/Enable legacy boot and upon restart i got the PXE error telling me that No Boot Filename Received. Disabling my adapter in boot order would bring the "No boot disk has been detected" error, predictably.
So, currently, i am unable neither to reset Win 8 or to boot at all.
I can't recall whether i got a Win8 disc with my PC or not. At least i can't find one
And i don't have a recovery disc either.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello again Terndn,
Thank you for the update on your issue. I would recommend that you tap the F11 key while your computer starts up and run the hardware diagnostics tests on your hard drive. I suspect that you hard drive may be on the way out and is starting to exhibit issues as a result. I know you have already run diagnostics on your hard drive and if you have run this test you do not have to repeat, but if you ran a different test I would recommend you run this one to be sure.
Regardless of the results of the test I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options. Having the tests done will speed up the call and reduce the amount of time it takes to resolve your issue.

  • HP Pavilion 23 all in one pc: Internet says it's connected, but it won't load any webpages

My desktop isn't in the same room as the modem, but I'll see about moving it to check the cable. Thank you for looking into it.

Opus123 Saw where you posted a reply with no response.  Must have missed that but yes it has been a while since we attempted to fix your issue.  I can suggest some other methods. The first one would be to reset all your browser settings to see if that helps. If you are receiving emails then we can assume that the connection to the internet is fine.  I know Ihave an issue where my phone knocks me off the wireless hub in my house so I need to turn off the WIFI on my phone if I am doing any work. I don't know why this is the case but it seems to be fixed if I do that. Then I reset the router and I am back in business.  you could try to go hard wired versus  wirelsss if that's an issue. Could be a driver thing.   As a last resort you could do a factory reset of your system by reinstalling the OS and basically starting with a clean system. MAKE SURE TO BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES BEFORE DOING THIS SO YOU DO NOT LOSE ANY OF YOUR FILES.   Try those and get back to me. I'll be wating and watching to see if any of those options work for you.  Happy New year

  • My pavilion touchsmart all in one pc touchscreen stopped working

I had my sister and nieces over today and to keep the kids occupied we brought up the freshpaint app. We left the room for a few seconds and when we came back in the touch screen stopped working. I went into my system info and it said that pen and touch is not available for my computer even though it was in use just 5 minutes ago. Is there a way to toggle this feature?

I understand your TouchScreen stopped working and you are inquiring as to whether you can toggle it off and on.I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this we can provide you with accurate information.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • HP Pavilion all in one starts but stuck on sign on page

    Hi,
I bought this at Best Buy and it didn't come with a recovery disk or manual.  I am having a problem with it staying stuck on the Sign On Page.  I put in my password and it will stay on "think" mode and not let me into the system.  What do you suggest? I know there isn't anything wrong with the password as I can get into other computers in the home with it.  I have tried shutting it down and re-starting it as well and get the same problem.

  • Brightness & light colored font-bad sound on HP Pavilion All-in-One, 20-b013w

I help correct learners of English, and when I record the sound on playback is horrible.  I purchased a new mic, but the problem still exist.  Seems like a lot of noise in the background.  A big problem I have with the monitor is the brightness and light color of font.  It is so light that it is very hard to read.  For instance on this page, the blue lettering is hard to read with the screen being so white.  I have a HP Pavilion 20 All-in-One, 20-b013w, and have the Windows 8 on the computer.
How can I improve the sound when I record using a microphone, and is it possible to darken the font and maybe change the contrast?  I am not a computer expert by any means, so if someone can help me I would be very thankful.

Hello leatherneckco.  I understand you're having some trouble with your microphone and your screen's brightness.
What program are you using to record your audio?  Have you tried recording in another application?
A good first step is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.  Try the following.
From either the Metro or Desktop view press the Windows+X key combination.  This opens the Context Menu.
    Select Device Manager.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your sound card and select Uninstall.
After the uninstallation has completed you should reboot your notebook.
Once Windows loads it will reinstall the device.
Verify whether the issue persists and post the result.
You can adjust your brightness by following these directions or using the monitor's physical buttons.  This document can show you how to change the settings related to your computer's fonts.
I'll keep an eye out for your reply.  Have a good day.

  • All-in-one touch screen not working

I have an HP Pavilion 23 All-in-one desktop that the touch screen has stopped working.  My system info shows I have no Pen or Touch installed.  All of the answers for fixing this problem tell me to go in and enable Touch - how can I do that when my system says I don't have it.  Yes, I have had it for the last 18 months so where did it go?  This problem happened once before and I did a system restore (for another problem) and my touch was restored.  I did this again and it did not work.  I am at wits end trying to solve this.  Can anyone help - Please?

  • All in one question

    Hi,
I have the Pavilion 23t all in one computer. I was reading around on the net about how to upgrade the graphics card, however alot were saying its impossible... (at least from what I read). I hope this is the correct to place to ask this, but is there anyway to use an external graphics card, preferably the Geforce GTX drive as I have Geforce GT now. Or at this point is it even possible? I love my all in one, but for gaming its just not as great with the new games coming out.

  • Pavilion 23 - all in onw - PC23 - a204a - not listed on HP website as a product

Yesterday I purchased a HP Pavilion 23 - all in one - PC23 - a204a) (product number E9T66AA#ABG) from a large retailer in Brisbane Australia ( Harvey Norman) and the computer is not listed on your website for driver updates(or anywhere on the website generally). Does this mean the computer is not a genuine HP product or that it is not supported by HP? If it is genuine, why isnt it on the website? How do I get updates etc if it is not listed. Thanks.
