Pavilion tx2500 no display

After shutting down for a Win7 update the other day, the display has not shown. Windows loads and I can login blindly, but still nothing. The monitor I connected to it shows a black screen(not completely off like the built-in monitor) but I think the settings keep the display from extending to it by default. A couple years ago I had to replace the motherboard as the video card failed entirely, but Windows or even BIOS didnt load, and I think the CPU fan didnt even start so I dont think its the same. I resecured the cables inside and ensured it was clean and undamaged, and the issue persists. Thanks for any help.

I dont have an installation disc as I bought it used in another state. Cant afford a tech either

  • HP Pavilion 27xi Monitor: Display problem Mac Mini running Yosmite

Image quality is very poor for Mac Mini running Yosmite connected via HDMI.
Adjusting overscan helps scaling, but pixelation and poor image quality is not changed (very blurry)
Using VGA/mini display route with same devices, image quality if far better showing that somehow mini conncected to HP monitor via HDMI could be improved via driver update.
Is there a driver update for Yosmite?
Only drivers found were for Windows:

    Hello @adsben,
I understand that the image quality for your HP monitor is poor when connected to your Mac Mini, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
According to this document on using HP Monitors on a Mac:
"HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
    I hope this helps!

  • HP Pavilion tx2500 - Caps Lock and Num Lock lights blink once

I turn on my HP Pavilion tx2500 and I hear the fan spinning but nothing else happens.  The lights next to the Caps Lock and above the Num Lock keys blink (a repeating single blink).  According to some HP technical support documents I found online, the repeating single blink indicates a CPU problem.  My laptop is out of warranty and the $400 to send it to HP to have it fixed is practically the same price I paid for the laptop 2 years ago.
Do the blinking lights mean the CPU is fried?  And is there anything I can do to fix the laptop?
    Thanks,
    -Jeff

I have the same problem. I called HP they said the same thing. But, I am BIOS engineer myself and has worked with lot of motherboards, So I felt there is no point in sending a 399$ to find what happend and on top of that fixing charges.
I noticed the problem started when I installed Win 7 Ultimate edition to the board and let tbe board Idle for a long time and it went into sleep mode and when I hit the button for resume it would not resume, the blinking started.
I have seen the same thing happend to my friend laptop, luckily for him it recovered and he removed the Sleep Option. SO his laptop is shutdown or running in full power.
I thought this is not coincidence, there is defenitely a bug in HW or SW that is causing it. remove battery. I replaced the memory and removed the cmos battery and left for a long time (short the battery terminals to discharge quickly). Then I rebooted the machine, Luckuly for me it went to windows, I tht of replacing the BIOS firmware, bcos they ahve some latest on by that time I had a visitor and I was talking to him the system went into sleep mode and will never recover. The system started blinking. I dont see this as a CPU problem.
I still evaluating this. I will try to post my findings. I have aclip to read the BIOS chip but everytime i get different read. SO I am planning to remove the BIOS chip and put a socket so that I can play with the BIOS.

  • Pavilion Slimline s7700e Display brightens but is blank when waking from sleep.

When the computer wakes from sleep it seems to come up normally but the screen doesn't work. It brightens and there is a line across the top of the screen but it doesn't show anything. If I shut the computer down by holding the power button in and start it up again everything comes up normally.
I have recently assumed care of this computer. In investigating this problem I found that the computer had never been updated. Have since installed all Vista updates. Went to HP site and installed updates (including BIOS), changed power options and am still having the problem.
Do not know what else to do.
    Would appreciate any ideas.

    Hi,
Try reinstalling the Graphics Driver - Download the driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50640.exe
When the download has completed, temporarily disable your Security software, then open your Downloads folder, right click the Installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to begin the installation.  Hopefully, this should complete successfully.  When finished, restart the notebook and see if this has helped the issue.  Remember to re-enable your security software after the restart.

    display got damage...

    Hey @jeetandarprasad ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the display has broken on your Pavilion g6 2205tx notebook.
You can see a guide to replacing the display here: Maintenance and Service Guide.
You will find the steps on page 67 which also includes the part numbers you will need to order a replacement display. If you only need the actual display panel it's part number is 681817-001. You can order replacements here: HP Part Surfer, or you may find parts cheaper by searching on sites like Amazon or eBay.
Hopefully this is what you're looking for.

    Hi @narendra100 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion Notebook and issues with multi-color screens. Here is a document on overheating, which could cause the Notebook to display multi-color screens due to dust on the Notebook.
You could reset the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings.
If that does not help at the end of the document it shows you to do a hardware test.
When is does not show on the monitor this could be an inverter issue or LCD screen malfunction.
Please note remove any and all USB devices before troubleshooting. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
I would be happy to assist if needed with part numbers if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • I have a HP Pavilion PC (tx2520ea) display issues

    Hello
    I have a HP Pavilion PC (tx2520ea).
It was originally running Vista but now running W7 (and works fine for years after doing that).  No other changes have been made to the system.
It starts up fine and for a moment or two the screen shows the usual boot up options.  However after that the screen dies (although I can still hear the fan, suggesting that the PC is running).  I cannot get it to to anything else at this point.
I have tried booting and pressing F11 to restore (and also ESC to enter bios and F8).  It tells me that it is starting and then the screen goes blank again.  I have also tried booting which pressing WINDOWS and "b" to attempt to force a bios restore.
The thing is, I dont think that the screen itself is broken.  If I shut the screen and then reopen it again the screen lights up correctly as I would expect, then it dies on me again.  This is totally consistent and repeatable.
My thoughts are either there is a loose connection somewhere (this model has a swivel screen) or there is some corruption somewhere perhaps with the computer confused as to when the laptop itself is open or shut!!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.  The pc is several years old so I dont really want to go for an expensive repair.  However it seems OK apart from this one issue so I would like to fix this if possible.  I dont care if I need to restore it totally however (all my data is safely backed up).
    Cheers Paolo

reinstal OS ,,,  do a format during instaltion of windows,,  hope that will mk everything fine
    best of luck

  • Pavilion m9340f crashes displaying a bluescreen error. Windows 7 Ultimate 64

Running Windows 7 on my Pavilion m9340f computer, I was experiencing occasional "bluescreen" crashes. In an attempt to fix the problem, I unwisely inserted the original Windows 7 DVD in the computer drive, thinking it might serve to repair the problem, or "reboot" the software. What resulted was that the newly installed Windows 7 was determined to be "not a genuine copy of Windows" and wouldn't allow me to use the features of the OS.  I was then advised to format the hard drive of my computer, which I did, and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, which now was accepted as genuine. At first, the computer seemed to be functioning normally, but soon the BlueScreen crashes became even more frequent, occurring almost every time I operated the computer. I have run HP Diagnostics which shows no problems. I have eliminated most software programs which could cause a conflict. I am running, currently: Norton 360 Premier Edition, Microsoft Word 2010, and Google Chrome--could any of them be cause of the conflict? Please advise regarding possible solutions. Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
If the blue screen events are being caused by software, the first one I'd suspect would be the security software.  Make sure you have a record of any activation key you need to activate Norton and then try temporarily uninstalling it by downloading and running the relevant Norton Removal Tool from the link below.
    http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&ln=en_US
When the uninstallation is complete, restart the PC and then download and install the free version of Avast Antivirus.  Again, when this has completed, reboot the PC and see if there is any improvement.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6077er Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

    Hello!
I am using this laptop for 3rd year already. OS is Windows 7, every standard driver is downloaded from the official page and installed.
I have a problem, which sometimes occurs while using web browser, graphic-editing software and some games.
The screen starts flickering and then recovers with a message: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered".
I am usind official AMD drivers from 2011.
Before I have tried to install unofficial drivers or drivers from AMD web site, but all of them had random BSODs and errors. Only the official driver works stable, but sometimes causes this error.
Is there any possible fix for it?

    Hi Kakofonn,
At this point I would recommend doing either a System Restore to when it worked or if you don't use restore points do a full System Recovery. If you go this route make sure that you back up your information you don't want to lose.  If you don't want to do that then I would recommend calling HP as they will be able to remotely login to your computer. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 or start here if you live outside of North America.

  • Pavilion Dv6129US Volume Display

Well I guess I was messin around with my startup programs, and now my volume doesnt display on the screen when lowering or raising it. I left the Pointing Device driver, and QuickPlay buttons on the list tho, so I dont know what it could be. I also downloaded the sound, keyboard, and quickplay driver updates and still nothing. Can anyone help?

    Hi.
You will have the Quick Touch Siaplay in the startup items. make sure it is checked.
Or download the Quick Touch display software from the following link and install it on the notebook:

  • HP Pavilion HDX9300 vidieo display black

Hello, my HDX9300 flickers  sometimes on boot then the screen goes black, i have been able to to click on the profile and boot normally.  Also, i got display from the 2nd vid port but no icons.  I suspect vidieo card but don't know if its onboard or a card i can replace.   Any tips would be helpful.

It's unlikely the video card, more likely the inverter and/or back-light's, if it's the back-light's, then the screen will have to be replaced. You can just replace the back-lights, but they are very fragile to work with, plus the screens are not meant to be taken apart to get at them, but it is possible.
Press the "Windows" + "P" key at the same time and select either "Duplicate" or "Extend" (can't remember which)
to get your full desk top on the external monitor.
The video card is replaceable in one one of these if it comes to that though.
