  • Hp pavillion dv6 not turning on or able to use system recovery

My computer was working normally last night but today will not turn on correctly. i have tried system recovery, system restore, last known good configuration, safe mode, hard reboot....nothing is working. The screen either stays black or a message saying
     !!0xc0000034 !! 183/102067 (_0000000000000000.cde-ms)
appears. I am unable to use my computer at all so downloading software to fix the problem is out of the question. Is there anything I'm missing??
    Thanks so much!

Have you tested your hard drive? Enter BIOS setup by tapping/holding the F10 key immediately after powering on the laptop.Use Diagnostics to test your hdd.
If you don't have Diagnostics in BIOS-try tapping Esc key immediately after powering on. From the menu that appears (hopefully) tap  F2 System Diagnostics.

  • Pavillion dv6-Had screen replaced on August 22, 2012 because it went black and would not come back o

Have a Pavillion dv6 for my teenage daughter.  We got it late December of 2011, so it's less than a year old.  On August 22, 2012, I just got it back from being repaired because the screen went black and would not come back on no matter what we did.  It came back with a teeny, tiny little black line way down at the bottom of the screen, didn't seem like a big enough problem to worry about so we kept it and she used it.  Last night when she went to bed it was working fine, today when she turned it on after getting home from school, the whole screen is a disaster---it looks like a big diagonal crack is running up the screen and it's a solid strip of color on one side and then lines and then the crack then you can see where the sign on logo is trying to run---kind of---rolling up the tiny part of the screen it is showing on.  Called customer support, which was a complete nightmare!  I used the first number that came up for hpsupport on google and it was iyogi-----could barely understand the woman on the other end, she kept having me tell her the problem over and over and over and over and telling her my name and phone number and email address and the serial number and the product number, over and over and over and over and over and over-----this went on forever---then she had me try pressing the f10 key and the power button and it gave 13 beeps and would go off, she had me put the phone up so she could hear that happen 6 times.  Then finally she says it;s a hardware problem and she will transfer me over to harware support after trying to sell me software protection that I don't want.  She transfers me, I get an automated system and damned if I don't get rolled right back to the same Indian woman and she starts me from scratch like she hadn't just talked to me 4 minutes before that-----I was furious!  I told her I had already been on the phone with her and told her all this information and she still had me give it to her 3 more times then said she would put me through to hardware support.  I spent 1 hour and 25 minutes on the phone total and almost all of it was with this woman that had no clue and barely spoke English.  Why?  I live in the USA, I bought the product in the USA, why can't I speak to customer support in the USA?  Why do I always have to talk to someone that I have a language barrier with?  Why do they always make me do the same thing over and over and over and keep me on the phone over an hour?  It was the same way in August when it needed repaired, I was on the phone that night 1 hour and 10 minutes.   Is the goal to get you to just forget it and go buy a new one?

iYogi is not part of HP. I would recommend calling 1-800-474-6836 or visiting http://goo.gl/Pru5A for all of your support needs with HP products.

  • Pavillion dv6-6002ev is beeping on start up continuously

    Hello,
I have a problem with my laptop which is the Pavillion dv6-6002ev i5, operating system: Windows 7, error message: continues beep code at the start up, issues occurred: water was spilled through the keyboard, product LL053EA.
Actually I am not very proud of it but by mistake I spilled water on it through the keyboard. I immediately turned it off and I used the blow drier to dry it as much as I could..I removed even the keyboard and the memory cover from the back in order to be sure that all the water has gone.
After that I turned it on and in the start up there is a beep code ( I don’t have LED code at all) that is continues. If I press enter or another button then after awhile this sound stops for a while then starts again and then I have to choose from the Boot manager Windows7 and then starts.
Firstly the touchbad didn’t work but everything else worked fine (sounds, video, battery, processor). After 20 hours of the incident the touchbad started also to work but the light of the touchbad still does not work.
So the main problem is the loud sound at the beginning that doesn’t stop unless I use the boot manager to start the Windows.
I searched on the internet from the beginning and I saw that this beep code can only indicate a hardware problem so until now I have tried everything available on the internet to make this sound to stop (taken from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01732674&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...)But nothing worked and everything seemed fine, memory tests passed and everything.
Also I used the DST tests that are available from this model (Hard drive, Memory, Battery) but all of them passed...
So really after doing everything and without being an expert on PCs I would like to ask is there anything more that I can do in order this sound to stop and before I have to take it to expert to fix it? And is it this sound really worrying?, can I use the laptop until I will get it fixed or its better to have it off?
Thank you in advance for your responses

    Hey ktassi !
Gosh I hate when that happens! I've been there myself and I know it's very frustrating.
The first thing I would recommend doing is turning the computer on and getting all of the personal files backed up. That would be my priority. If you already have everything saved externally, then there's no need to worry with that step. Now, there is back up software out there that you can use. However, I've found  that copying and pasting each folder individually over to an external hard drive/flashdrive or cloud service is a more reliable way of backing up your files.
Once you have everything backed up, you can troubleshoot. It would be helpful to know what the beep pattern is that you're hearing at power on. You did a great job finding that document. It has a key on it that will tell you what component is affected depending on the beep patter you hear. If all of the hardware components seem to be working OK, you could try reloading Windows. Although, I couldn't guarantee this would help since the beep code indicates a hardware problem, but it well worth a try.
Here are the steps to perform a System Recovery after you have backed up all of your files. From the blue links at the top, choose "Recovery from the startup screen (during system boot)". When the recovery is done, use your computer normally. Start it up and shut it down several times to see if it will detect any problems (which will cause it to emit a beep pattern again). If it does still beep after the recovery, there may be a minimal hardware issue. That malfunctioning hardware may need to be repaired/replaced before the notebook will stop beeping.
You could also try muting the PC Beep.
Right Click on the Speaker symbol in the system tray > Click Playback Devices > Right Click on 'Speakers'/'Speakers and Headphones' > Click Properties > Click the Levels Tab > Mute PC Beep.
This method should be used with caution though because if there ever were a serious hardware failure that would cause the computer to beep, you would be unaware of it, possibly until it was too late.
Let me know what the beep pattern is. Please let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions help (this could help others with the same issues). I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

    Description:
My usb ports are not working. There is power running to them(light on usb stick light up) however when I plug anything in it says usb device not recognized.
    I have tried:
Updating bios(No option in bios to turn usb on/off)
Reinstalling all drivers for usb(removed and restarted so they would automatically reinstall.)
Unplugging laptop and removing battery for a long period of time(all night)
The problem persists in Ubuntu and Windows 7. I am coming to the conclusion that the ports are toast and I will need to replace the mother board. If thats the case can anyone tell me the approximate cost of replacing the motherboard?(If too much ill just be buying a new computer)

  • Speakers not working on brand new pavillion dv6. headphones work fine

I've just taken this Pavillion DV6 PC out of the box and the speakers are not working.   Windows 7.   Sound is fine when I plug headphones in.

    Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your Audio Driver ( probably IDT ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 7
When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio through the speakers.
If you still have no sound, I would return the unit and get it replaced - you shouldn't have to be troubleshooting a brand new machine.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD.  Download the relevant ISO from the links below - if you're not sure, your notebook is listed as coming with a 64bit installation..
    Windows 7 32bit
    Windows 7 64bit
You should use an application such as ImgBurn ( Note: you may want to de-select the additional software options during the installation of ImgBurn ) to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.
When created, tap away at the esc key as soon as you start the notebook launch the Start-up Menu and then insert the Rescue CD.  Select the Boot Menu options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and hit enter.  You may also get a prompt to 'Press any key to continue' - do this if asked.
Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.

If the above fails to help, make a note of any error messages you may get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

I've tried updated my drivers but they all say they are up to date. If it helps im running windows 7 64bit with beats audio. Im not sure what other specs i should add. • My laptop ( hp pavilion dv6-6b27nr entertainment PC) willl not start up. the screen is blank.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6b27nr Entertainment PC   (Win 7) It would start up with the message "BIOS RECOVERY" .  It then would not start up at all.  I took it to a repair shop, they contacted HP and got it working.  i took it home and it worked just fine the same day, however when I tried to use it the next day the screen is just blank. i tried the take out the battery process with no effect.  i then tried tapping the f11 key at start up.  the fan came on and it made some noise, but has failed to show anything on the screen.  When I turn it on the caps lock key blinks continually in a sequence of two blinks.  (When i brought it home from the repair shop I downloaded malwarebytes and quarantined 87 pups etc. )

    HI @owe ,
Thank you for your query, I will do my best to help!
I grasp that you received a bios error and the notebook would not start.  You took it to a repair shop, who contacted HP and got it back up and running. When you took it home it ran fine.  You downloaded malwarebytes, installed and ran it, and quarantined 87 pups etc.  When you tried to use it the next day you get a blank screen and the lights blink twice.
Here is a link to  Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps .  Two blinks again refers to the bios.
You should not be having a bios problem so soon after just having it repaired.
There may be a hardware issue that is causing this and I would test the hardware  rule  that possibility out.  Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista)
If you are still unable to determine any problems, you would have some options.
You can try to restore the bios yourself.   Restoring the BIOS
As you just got it back from the repair shop, you could take it back to them to see what they say.
As you stated that the repair shop called HP, you may be able to acquire a reference or case number to refer to and call them yourself. Just to clarify you do not need the case number to contact HP support but it would allow them to more easily locate  any case notes from the previous call.

  • Pavillion dv2700 will not start up

HP -Pavillion dv2700 running Vista will not start up.
At power the screen comes on and goes right to  the Microsoft Corporation screen with green bars going across screen. This will last for hours and go nowhere.
I do get the option to go to the recoveryscreen but that eventually gives the error message that says Startup Repair has tried several times but still cannot determine the cause of repair.
Every now and and again it will respond to F8 but no matter what choice I make it comes back to the Microsoft Corporation screen with green bars going across screen.
I took out the hard drive and tried to boot it up with the system recovery dvd and get a flashing line on a black screen
I would love any thoughts you might have,  Thank you

My pavilion dv2700 with Vista will not boot.  At power on the screen comes on and some LEDs on the keyboard illuminate but the screen remains blank.  It does not seem to enter the BIOS boot up mode either.  Repeated clicks on the F10, F11, or F8 keys has no effect except that after about 20 clicks on one of the function keys a beep is heard for each subsequent click but the screen just remains blank.
This problem was preceded by a week of the system locking up intermittently.  The hard drive LED would go out and the system would freeze up.  I would have to hold the power button down for 10 seconds to shut it down.
Any ideas on what is going on, how to trouble shoot, or how to fix?
By the way:  I do not have a restore disk.

    Hello Robert_thoms,
I understand you state your G6 will not load, is that correct? I will be happy to help you.
I would like you to try a hard reset and then try to access the BIOS menu.
    1.       Remove all connections including the battery and AC adapter
    2.       Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
    3.       Once done reinsert only the battery and AC adapter
Now try to access the BIOS menu:
    1.       Turn the computer on and immediately start tapping the F10 key
    2.       If successful  you see the BIOS menu
    3.       Press the F9 key to reset the BIOS
    4.       Press F10 to save and exit to see if it will boot
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

  • Pavillion G72 Synaptics TouchPad will not start from a restart or a cold bbot.

After the broken LCD screen was replaced the Synaptics TouchPad will not start up.  I deinstalled and reinstalled driver 15.3.29.0 downloaded from the HP driver web site.  The icon will not display.  In the ICon Notification Area settings, when I choose "show icon and notifications" the response is a message that the icon is inactive.
If I click on the the shortcut in the startup folder for SynTPEnh.exe the icon displays, disables the TouchPad becasue it detects the wireless mouse (as selected in the checkbox).  After a system restart or cold boot it does not run.
In System Configuration, whereas all programs start as C:\Program Files\... , the one for SynTPEnh.exe dislays as C:\PROGRA~1\SYNAPT...  Is this the problem/
I found the same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run but editing that to match the other programs made no difference.
What do I need to do to make SynTPEnh.exe start up?
    Thank you

Running  OS Name    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
    Version    6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Note also that the Synaptics TouchPad is not listed on the Control Panel under Adjust Your Computer's Settings as.  Should show up as Synaptics TouchPad V7.5
