Pavillion dv6 shows sends sound to headphones when none connected

All my video chat programs work with sound coming out of my notebook...then along comes facebook video chat and my notebook decides I have headphones attached and refuses to send sound out of the speakers....help!!!! It worked for a week or so! All other programs....skype msn etc. still work.

I have the exact same problem with desktop HP Pavilion HPE (H8-1022). Despite the Beats Audio and the Windows control panel having the external speakers set as the default devices for playback, when using FB video chat all the sound gets routed to the headphone jack. It seems like your iPod touch is not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, but your iPhone 6 is working normally.
I recommend starting with these steps to troubleshoot your iPod touch and connection with your Mac:
Check your USB connections
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Restart your device
Restart your iOS device or reset your iPod.
Restart your Mac
Turn your Mac off and back on.
Update your software
Check for software updates on your Mac.

Why does my sound say "headphones" when I don't have any headphones in?

I have a iPhone 4 and it's an 8GB phone, and it is updated to iOS 7.0.4. When I move the switch on the side that controls silent or ringer, it shows up on my screen saying "headphones" when I do not have headphones in. So basically I have no sound and only vibrate. But if I were to insert headphones there is sound through my ear piece as it normally should be. I had my phone in my bag and my water bottle in my bag spilt and I'm assuming I have this sound problem because it is water damaged but I'm not completely sure. I don't want to put my phone in rice, which I heard is what you're supposed to do when it is water damaged. But I don't want to because a rice can fit in the whole where you insert your headphones and I wouldn't want to get a rice stuck there. I also turned my phone off for more than 10 seconds just so it can reset, thinking maybe it was a temporary issue that could've been fixed by turning your phone off, but no, it is still broken. So how do I fix this? Is the only solution getting fixed at apple?

Also my speakers do not work. When I receive a notification, message, or call there is no ringer and when I answer a call I cannot hear the other line. So I am pretty sure I water damaged my phone. How do I fix this?

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Iphone acting as if it has headphones when none are plugged in.

I have an iphone 3G. I am not hearing any ringing when people call. I also have to take calls on speaker. This is the second iphone I have had. The "geniuses" at the Mac store gave me "new" one two weeks ago and already it doesn't work.
I have reset the phone and turned it on and off. The mute button is NOT on. I can't run to the Mac store every two weeks. Please help.

The issue could be caused by debris getting in the iPhones headphone jack.
Try adjusting the volume on the iPhone without headphones connected, does it show (headphones) even though headphones are not connected?

Cannot send email via ActiveSync when user connect from Internet (Exchange 2010 SP3 RU5)

This is the first time I encounter this kind of issue, whenever user connect from the internet they cannot send email from their Phone or Windows Mail App, but they can retrieve email
But when they connect from Internal Network they can send email. I already test ActiveSync from internet using www.testexchangeconnectivity.com and it pass all tests.
I also check the Firewall and all the necessary ports already opened (we even open all ports) , the default TTL on the firewall 3600 second.
From what I read ActiveSync use some kind of HTTP POST or in MS terminology "PING" command, but still have no idea what kind of configuration that should be made to the Firewall so it can pass this "PING" command. Because from what I
see in Android Logcat the problem always related to this PING command

Trouble getting iPod touch to show new version of iTunes when I connect to iMac

When I connect our ipod touch, itunes message pulls up and says it cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.5 or later and to go to itunes to download. I have done that and restarted all devices, but it still brings that message up everytime I plug it in. What do I need to do?

Cannot hear sound through headphones when running mainstage- Mackie 1220i interface

I am currently running Logic Studio with my MacBook Pro with a Mackie 1220i mixer/interface. I can hear the processed sound fine on the mic channel and the guitar channel when the headphones are plugged into the mixer but I get no sound when the headphones are plugged into the MacBook Pro. I am trying to set up a concert in Mainstage. Suggestions?

No sound from internal speakers however i get sound through headphones when plugged in

i am not getting sound out of the laptop internal speakers when nothing is plugged into the headphone jacks. if i plug headphones or external speakers the sound is verified to be on because i get sound / volume. Any thoughts / ideas? Thanks

Sorry, I do not have a solution to offer. But I have exactly the same issue. HP Pavilion TX2000, now just out of Costco warranty period (naturally). Sound from built-in and external speakers worked for about 2 years and a handful of months. A couple weeks ago, when I unplugged the external speakers, the built-in speakers would work only sporadically. Eventually, the built-in speakers ceased to work at all. Now, external speakers have ceased to work, too. I can get something resembling sound from Logitech USB speakers, but if these are configured for stereo the sound crackles and pops beyond belief. Setting to mono works. For now.
I can only believe this is a hardware failure. Time-to-failure for this product is unacceptable, but what does HP care? It made it past the warranty, right?

How to get sound from phone when bluetooth connected

Easily paired my Plantronic bluetooth headset - piece of cake. However, if I'm not on the phone, I don't keep it on my ear. Sounds, except phone ringing, only come thru the headset whe it is on. I would like to hear the other sounds (i.e. notifications, text message alerts, other alerts) from the phone when my bluetooth headset is connected. It would be a pain to have to turn the headset on/off just to hear anything from the phone. I actually missed a meeting as the phone made no noise for my calendar reminder.
I would like the option of routing the tones/alert sounds to either phone or headset or just have it automatically do both.

How do I get my nano to show up in the source list in iTunes all the time, like it used to in iTunes 5?

Nanos never showed up in the Source list all the time. That was Shuffles. And yes, it was cool. However, that function was removed from iTunes at about version 7. It doesn't even work with the Shuffles anymore. Sorry.

Sound Studio for a non-connected friend

Hi. I know it sounds fishy, but I just bought Sound Studio on the AppStore for a friend that has a brand new iMac, but no internet connexion. The copy of the app via a USB key did not work: the app does not start on my friend's Mac, no error message given. I do not want to use Sound Studio for myself. Any clue on how to transfer the property of the app? Thanks.

Apps purchased and downloaded using your Apple ID cannot be transferred to your friends iMac. He/she needs to purchase the app using their own Apple ID.
Apps cannot be transferred from one Apple iD account to another.
