Have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC DV9700 (product) P/N KN895UA#ABA with Windows Vista Premium
Pavillion dv9830us
My drive no longer plays my BLUERAY Movies. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or what may have caused it?
I can not find any fixs on the HP site. Please Help

You could try the following:
Use HP Recovery Manager to restore the driver
Use HP Update and see if any updates are available
The DVD player software has an update function
Your video driver may need updating -- try the manufacturer's web site

Flash Player not working, help i am not a geek or techie.....!!

I have a MAC OSX 10.5.8, after the recent software update my flash player no longer works.
I have tried to download the most recent version which i cannot, i have tried to download Google Chrome which i cannot also download. It was suggested that i de-install the flash player & i would then be able to upload the latest version, this hasn;t worked.
So i am now left with nothing, i cannot watch BBC IPlayer of any videos which i frankly useless & not why i bought an Apple MAC.
I am no expert so in simple language does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to how i can get around this issue, should i update my software to Lion?

Chrome isn't going to work as it's auto-updates Flash and there is no Flash version for 10.5
Safari now disables older versions of Flash
You can use Firefox and re-anable the 10.5 compatible version of Flash, however you must also install the NoScript Add-on for Firefox.
NoScript will disable Flash as you surf the web so it's not on all the time, you click the Temporarily Allow All and the Flash button on content to see it once you have trusted the site not to compromise your machine.
It's really a shame, 10.6% of Mac users are still on 10.5 and Apple, until just recently because of the 600,000 Mac strong Flashflake botnet, hasn't paid any attention to that large portion of it's user base since July 2011.
I guess Apple realized if a large portion of those 600,000 people were on 10.5, and come to realize their machines were compromized because of Apple's negligence in issuing security updates promply, that would affect their decision to buy a new Mac again.
The habit of Apple ignoring older operating systems also extends to third party software, like Flash, third party browsers and others who also need to have Apple correct their software mistakes in OS X.
So the reason there is no secure 10.5 Flash version is because Apple previously ignored 10.5, so Adobe and others followed along, it was only upon the Flashflake botnet that Apple then dragged 10.5 off the shelf and fixed it.
Ignoring security and stability updates for operating systems still in major circulation was a bad choice on the part of Apple, something I hope from now on they correct.

thanks for helping. I have windows 7, internet explorer. recently had to replace my hard drive, and compete reinstall of all software so still a few bugs on settings, ect. not seeing any error messages. video and uploading pics seemed to be fine until the last week. not sure what could have changed . I can still look at PDF ect, I'm not positive its the Adobe that is messed up, but the 2 things I'm having problems with, clicking on and watching video on espn.com and not uploading pics to Facebook, both just does nothing when I try them. no errors, just black screen where its suppose to play or upload. the trouble shooting for both sites say make sure to have the latest version of flash player, so thats why I assume something is wrong with Adobe. when I do the self scan from this site it says I have the latest version. my settings say the player is enabled

I finally figured it out. Flash Player had not installed. I had to de-activate Active-X thru the safety tab on the menu bar and then download the Adobe Flash Player and now it's working. I re-activated Active X after I finished installing Flash,. Hope fully everything will keep working fine!

the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1).

What model of camcorder is this video coming from?
Are you working on a Mac or a PC? Have you got the latest version of Quicktime, per the program requirements? When you started your project, did you select the settings for a DSLR at 720p? This is a vital step since it will activate the components your computer will need to work with many of these types of files.

Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
