Pavillion dv9820 installation disk

Doe's anyone know where I can get an installation disk for my hp pavillion dv9820? It is well out of warranty and cannot find the installation disk to try to fix a problem because it will not let me in in any mode, but gives me a prompt to insert my disk and click repair problem bc of a harware change. Any ideas?

Pavillion dv7-3160us hard disk not exist

i have an HP Pavillion dv7 3160us, Windows 7 64 bit (i think)
Error message - Hard Disk Not Exist
Any recent changes - Unknown - children were last using and nobody seems to know anything.
The laptop will not boot up. It goes straight to the black screen. There is also a strange beep noise coming from near the number pad - inside the laptop - while it tries to start up. Help!

Somebody might have removed the hard drive or dropped the computer and killed it. Can you open the hard drive bay on the bottom of the computer and look inside?

HP Pavillion P7-1074 recovery disks

I thought I made recovery disks for my computer....and now that I need them (because I had to replace my hard drive) I see that I had written "bootable diagnostic hardward cd" on the cd cover...so my question is...is this the same thing as recovery cd's or did I not create the correct disks?

Please edit out the serial number in your post for your security.
Have you tried the CD, it's the only way to be sure what is on it?

Pavillion g6-2218nr Hard Disk Short DST test Failed

I have an HP Pavillion g6-2218nr notebook that will not start up. When running the start-up diagnostic test and the Hard Drive diagnostic test, both tests showed the Hard Disk Short DST FAILED.
The failure code is:

The notebook is unfortunately out of warranty. Does the hard drive need to be replaced? Can you recommend a replacement? Are there instructions available?

Windows Installation Disk

Hello, I am using a notebook by the name of HP Pavilion dv6000. Everything was running alright then suddenly I had a problem. When I tried to open my PC I couldn't it asked me for the Windows Installation Disk. I'm pretty sure that HP didn't give me one unless they meant the Recovery Disk, that I have. Please try to help me out here. Your help is gratefully appreciated.

Ejecting installation disk

When I try to eject disk "OJ4500G510g-m A window comes up saying it could not be ejected because "HP installer" is using it even though I installed it and my Printer is working. My question: why is this happening?

Is there anything in particlar that I need other than the installation disk when upgrading from Labview 8 to 2010

I have a Labview program that ran fine when I had Labview 8 installed. I recently upgraded to Labview 2010 and now my program will not work. When I run the program, none of my instruments read out and after about 5 seconds, the whole Labview program closes with no error messages. Can someone please help? I am a new Labview user and I don't really know how to troubleshoot this problem.

If you have the installation disks that should be all you need. You will need a connection to the internet to register your product.

Need a standard SATA to HP laptop electrical interface adapter

I need to buy a SATA to HP laptop (Pavillion dv6500 series) hard disk electrical adapter so I can install a new Seagate HD. My son took the computer into Geek Squad a couple of years ago and they told him the hard drive was bad. He could not afford the cost of a new hard drive so they gave the computer back to him. He recently gave the computer to me and when I opened up the drive bay found that they kept the bad hard drive with the adapter still on it. I have been unable to find one locally or from HP. Any ideas?

How can I get my HP pavillion 7g original HP software after my hard disk was replaced.

My HP pavillion 7 g series laptop has been repaired with new motherboard, graphic card and hard drive, but when I recieved back, it only came with a clean windows 7 home premium installed, no updates not software, nada nothing, I have been able to slowly bring it back to update but, no HP software can be found, I don't have a recovery disk because it was all lost with the old hard drive.
Is anyway to get some of the HP software that came with the computer? right now I can not even check for drivers update but I manage to create a new recovery partion in my new hard drive with a download from HP.

Hp pavillion a000 recovery disk error.. where to go from here?

HI.. .fIRST Thank you so much for being here today...
I have an HP pavillion a000 which was bought used.
About a week ago I got pre-windows msgs. on the 3rd time it has frozen at this point
Msg as follows...
bla bla.. but windows did not start successfully..
a recent hardwared or software change may have caused this..
It has counted down and started in normal mode..
then it has frozen.. and I have tried to start it it all modes..
This last attempt actually started windows and went back to this screen
I put in the compaq recovery disk... I get red screen saying recovery disk error..
PLEASE Contact support
I have un plugged..re plugged and we go in circles...
I'm not sure where to go from here but any suggestions would be VERY appreciated as I do have some artwork I was doing stuck in computer now..
Do you think it's a software,, hardware or even a virus thing??

operating system.. Windows xp... yes I tried recovery disks I have.. puter says...non compatible..
I use firefox as browser via century link dsl..
I can pull the hard drive and I have a harness for accessing the hard drive directly via usb download if you think that's an option but not letting me into windows even has me doubtful that would work;;;
So as I mentioned.. ANY sugestions you can offer as what to try next would be MOST welcome!
I can replace the computer easy enough but I would love to be ables to rescue my art in progress at least!

If the computer was working fine before you might just want to try a system restore. This should correct the problem without affecting any of your files.

Hi,
If you're starting to get Smart warnings, it's probably best to think about replacing the Hard Drive - at the very least, make sure you have a current back-up of all your personal files etc in case the drive fails suddenly.
If you'd like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive, please post back with the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

Can't crete recovery disk or flashdrive for HP pavillion 15 n0 28 US 243. Computer recognizes media but

HP Pavillion laptop dv5t using Recovery disks hangs.

I have an HP Pavillion dv5t I bought 13 months ago. It has Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 8GB memory, Intel Core i7-640M Dual Core Processor 2.8 GHz and 750GB hard drive.
When I got the laptop, I created the recovery disks (6) as instructed. I hoped I would never need to use them. This weekend, my hard drive had a Harddisk 1 failure. I replaced it with a new 500GB hard disk.
I tried to restore Windows 7 using the 6 recovery disks I had created. HP Recovery Manager loaded all 6 recovery discs. Lastly it said don't turn the laptop off, don't close the laptop lit, etc. Click NEXT.
I clicked NEXT and for the last three hours Recovery Manager looks like is hanging. Is this normal? What should I do? How do I recover Windows 7? Any Idea? HELP!

This next image shows loading of the recovery files has completed. I click the Continure button as instructed, the screan clears to a black screen. At the bottom of the screen reads: press the Esc key for the Start up Menu.

Sometimes the new hdd requires prepping with Cyberlink Utility cd first. Download and Save the file. Once download is complete, put a blank cd in your drive and click the file to create a boot cd. Boot with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicating hdd is ready. Remove the cd , insert first Recovery Disk and restart the laptop.
