Before installing, remove all traces of any previous x-fi drivers and all x-fi driver by removing the driver within "Device Manager". To clean up any excess files left on your system, you should use a 3rd party program to do this job (unless you've a good understanding of the registry) A recommended program to do this is Driver Sweeper - which is freeware, and available from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ or paid version at hardwareheaven.com driver cleaner.net
To install the software driver :
Providing you've followed the steps above, restart your computer and run Setup.exe. Follow through the prompts until the installation has completed.

Tactic3D Alpha Odd popping on Youtube videos

Ever since I've had the Tactic3D alpha (Two actually.) I've had this serious problem, youtube videos make loud popping noises when I use the USB connector. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't eventually degrade into loud buzzing sounds that are identical every time. I can get around this problem by using the sound-card input, however this restricts me from using the control panel and accessing the full features of the device. (Leaving me with a headset that is significantly quieter, has less bass, a Mic that seems to not be picked up by most things as well as lower sound quality in general.)
This is frustrating, as it seems to come and go; while most of the time I'll have the popping sounds, randomly they'll just plain stop for a period of time, almost as if to lure me into a false sense of security.
My audio drivers are all up to date. I have tried multiple different USB ports etc etc.

The app is usually the best way to access YouTube.
You can try some of the 'standard' troubleshooting for Safari :
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Tactic3D Alpha Static Noise / Sound Distortion

I recently bought a Tactic3D Alpha and I'm having some problems with it. At first, when talking to my friends on Skype, they kept telling me that they could barely hear me (mic volume was at 100%), then I saw the "new" firmware and installed it (before installing it, it seemed that the one I had was more recent, but I'm not sure, since they don't specify any date, only a hexadecimal(I think) version).
After that, I didn't notice any volume improvement of the mic (my friends kept telling me that I was talking "inside a well"). But a bit later I started noticing that when some sound (Windows sounds, music, etc.) was playing there was always some static noise. In some cases, on some songs with lots of bass, the sound even got distorted. The static noise is even more noticeable when using earphones connected through the usb soundcard.
Even when using the default Windows 7 (x64) driver (the one that is automatically installed) this issue happens. It also happens on Ubuntu 10.04. So it makes me believe it's either a firmware or a hardware problem.
I'm not sure if it was the firmware update that started this problem, but I don't remember noticing any static noise before the update.
Firmware Version I have now: D0_01_21 .
I don't remember exactly what was the version of the firmware the came on it.
Is there any other firmware available that I can try and see if it fixes my problem, even if it's older than this one?
Using the headset connected to my onboard soundcard (a Realtek one) works fine. Mic volume is decent and no static noise / distortion is noticeable. The only drawback is that I can't use the enhancements that the USB soundcard of the Tactic3D Alpha offers.

I confirm that the two files SBTA_PCFW_BETA_US_D0_0_2.exe and SBTS_PCFW_BETA_US_D0_0_2.exe are corrupted (not Win32 applications). The downloads do not complete and stop respecti'vely at .36 KB and 05 KB.
Creative, you have to reupload the files on your webserver.

Sound Blaster Tactic3d alpha problems

Hi, i have some problems with installing Sound Blaster Tactic3d alpha drivers.
First is that i don't have pannel after installing drivers and second one is that my microphone is muted. Can someone help me ?

This could be caused by residual files from previous installation. It would advisable to uninstall and reinstall the package with a clean boot of your system. This article may help.

Lagging SoundBlaster Tactic3D Alpha

Hi All,
I just bought a Soundblaster Tactic3D Alpha and I love the sound, but I'm having a problem with it.
When I'm playing games like COD or Crysis 2, the headphones works fine, but out of the blue, the sounds starts to "lag", and becomes real choppy. i then close the game and goes to the control panel and play the THX TruStudio Pro test clip and it lags too.
I plug the headphone into the usb adapter, didnt like the sound without it.
Please help!!! really love this pair of headphones.

New beta firmwares available for Sound Blaster Tactic3D Alpha & Sigma - 21st Jan 2011

First of all, Using the link prvided doesn't work it just won't find the firmware.
Second, when I do it manually I get to a link for may snap crackle pop-Sigma and I download it.
BUT...
The link states the firmware should be 538,64 KB, but when I download it I get something that is 05 KB.
And it's NOT a Win32 program...
Is Creative doing this to see if they can annoy their customers or what.
THANK GOD that I don't have anyone responsible here att this moment.
BTW, I have been in contact with Creatives support and since they assume that everybody using their products doesn't know **bleep** about computers, I will probably not get anywhere with my crappy Sigma headphones until Jesus is reborn or something.

Tactic3d Alpha Control Panel doesnt work!

hey guys
I use the headset for some time(around 12 months) and have never had problems wit it.
Since yesterday, the panel does not work anymore, I can open it normally without any error or freezing but than
I can not accept any setting,EQ,FW , its always the same sound WTF... is this?
I uninstalled and installed it several times without success -...
ill hope u can help me,maybe some1 got old driver for me ?

Tactic3d issues on MacOSX

Tactic3d Alpha & Sigma don't have a proper working mic.
Even after a firmware upgrade to Beta 2Jan firmware it still bad.
If you are booting your mac in 64Bit enviroment note that THX Kext dowsn't have 64bit code.
So forget any THX advantages on 64bit systems.
(/System/Library/Extensions/THXTruStudioPCUSBAudioPlugin.kext/Contents/MacOS/THXTruStudioPCUSBAudioPlugin: Mach-O object i386)
Tactic3D hardware depends on AppleUSBAudio.kext. So:
- You won't be able to fix it coding. Creative put some code on this kext and since then is no longer open source.
- Latest OpenSource version of this kext is 32bit and it hasn't got required dependencies for THX's kexts.
Not that any CMedia USB chipset will not work properly since AppleUSBAudio.kext is Closed sources.
(Mic has a robotic sound each hour for 0 min) (that's because I bought this two apple certified headsets.. but both two down't work also)
So if I'm not wrong, All the hardware stuff is in AppleUSBAudio (and was working as is before become closed source).
THX kext it's just an "advanced?" EQ. Before sending audio to Apple kext.
Questions:
There is any USB headset working properly (Output and mic input) on Snow Leopard?
Will creative code their kext to work in 64bit?
Will creative fix their Mic problem on Tactic3d headsets?
Is creative responsible from robotic AppleUSBAudio bug for any other USB-Audio chips?

I'm working on 2..0b AppleUSBAudio.kext (the last open source version if I'm right) It seems to be working properly on my system 0.6.6 (only 32bit mode) with any 2,50$ USB to jack adaptor with CM08 chipsets.
Today, my two expensi've Creative headsets are much like a pair of chinese crap with big magnets.

Tactics 3D alpha headset control panel doesnt want to start!

First of all the USB thingy isn't working... no sound is heard no matter I plug it in usb 3.0 2.0 front back ports...
Asrock Extreme 6 P67 Motherboard. Windows 7 x 64 ultimate
When I plug the 3.5 jacks it works fine, well the sound atleast, Though the controll panel still says not detected!
Installed this driver: SBTA_PCDRV1_WIN8_LD_1_01_0001
The audio device supported by this application cannot be detected. This application will now close..
Can someone please assist thank you.

The headset does not act just like a normal headset. It has not been working since I purchased it, unfortunately, and I did try to connect it after a system restore without the USB attachment. The default settings are for the speaker and internal microphone, but in order for sound to play out of the headset I have to set it as the default, either as "headphones" or "headset" regardless of how it is attached to the computer. I did not have to do this with my previous headset, and my old headset did not have this issue.
Also, if I remove the microphone and mute/unmute the headset microphone with the in-line switch, it registers as noise in the sound settings menu. I suspect that there's something wrong with the wiring at the in-line controller.

Creative Tactics 3D Alpha Input/Output Mixing

I am running Windows 7 64 bit with Realtek HD Audio, updated to the most current version. I have updated the firmware for the Alpha and the software for the Tactic 3D Control Panel to the most current versions, and this problem is occuring whether or not I am connecting the headset to the compute via the USB attachment or the regular aux plugs. It also does not occur with my previous headset, and I have tried it after installing the Tactic 3D Control Panel.
On to the problem: whether I am on Skype, Mumble, TS3 or any other program, my microphone is transmitting both my voice as well as any other output from my computer at the same time. This happens even when the microphone is muted. Here's an example: if I play music in the background and use the Skype test service, it will pick up both my voice and the music, even though the music is being transmitted through the headset, and not the laptop's speakers. If I mute the mic and try the same test, it still transmits the music.
I have checked to make sure that soundmix is turned off (it is) and that I do not have "listen to this device" connected. I have tried disabling my onboard audio (this shut everything off) and I've also reinstalled the Tactics 3D Control Panel.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Hardware problem or software issue? Thanks.

[Audigy 2] - Low volume...again !

Once again, we are suffering from this bug, present in the drivers since Vista release, and now occuring under Win7.
Just to make it quick, if I install any unmodded drivers, I get a volume so low it's not even funny. The only working drivers are either Daniel_k's support pack 2.0 or Youp Pax .05 alpha.
Any of those two will give me a great sound.
Now, if I install Creative's latest official, sound is so screwed it's not even funny anymore. Even my onboard sound card does a better job. Unfortunately, Daniel_k's 3. support pack isn't solving the issue.
So I'm definitely looking for a solution here.
Specs :
Win7 x64. - 4gb (YAY for the mic. bug too) - Q6600 - 4890 - Audigy 2.

I do experence that with Vista with the latest Daniel_k's support pack 3., especially with MIDI music. Any fix? or is it a vista problem?

Crackle from USB soundcard

Hello everyone. I have a little problem with my sound card ,,Sound Blaster Tactic 3D”.
When I had Windows 7 32bit Home Premium, it worked perfectly. But, I was upgrading two weeks ago to Windows 8.1 64bit Proffesional and sound card does not work well. When I play music, movie, video on the Youtube, I hear in sound crackle. It is not always, but in the moments. I don’t know why Firmware has been upgraded to version D0-01-21 and I have latest Sound Blaster Tactic3D Alpha Pack for Windows. My USB drivers is too actual. My headset is Creative Tactic 3D Alpha.

P.S.: When I connect the headset to integrated sound card (Realtek), I don't hear crackling...

Tactic3D Sigma + X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty ?

Hello friends,
I have a PCI-E X-Fi Titanium Fatalty sound card and I'm thinking in get a good headphone to play during midnight.
I know Titanium features in Game Mode the CMSS-3D effect which offer a great improvment in games with any kind of headphone.
On the other hand, Tactic3D Sigma offers THX TruStudio Pro Surround, that also delivers a 3D simulation effect in games.
so...
Is it worth buying Sigma if I can get a 3D effect with my soundcard? Sigma still good using jack output?

Ok I have installed the Alpha/Sigma software and the cotrol panel just hangs when it opens. I uninstalled, reinstalled in safe mode, restarted, ran update with the same results . . . WTF these are sold as high-eng! I have been in tech support, I am a Intel Product Dealer, and a MS System builder for years. Windows 7 prem 64, Creative SB X-FI Titanium . . . seems like the head set should work with this. Please help...

I can use the mini jacks but not the features I bought the headset for? The mini jack functioning of this headset seem no better than any $25 headset . . . and I have spent years plugged in in recording studios.
So the features of this headset are not available if I am using your High-end soundcard?!?!?!?!? How is this possible?!?!?!? And why does the box not say this?? Now that I have spent hundreds of dollars on your soundcard and nearly another $00 on your headphones I am just out of luck!!!??
I think this needs a website of its own. What am I to do with this useless waste of money at this point?
So, please, tell me what I am to do?

Please note that when in USB connection, USB devices such as your SB Tactic3D Sigma Headset will create its own USB Audio Device and it will bypass the onboard sound card and the X-fi Titanium card.
Make sure that the headset is properly detected in Device Manager and selected as the default playback and recording device.
When using the mini-jack, please ensure that the X-fi Titanium card is selected as the default playback and recording device.

Alpha Numeric - GL account numbering

Hi
Our client is going for alpha numeric GL accounts. FS00 will allow creating alpha numeric GL accounts. But i wanted to what may be problem in future?
I want to know will any account determination settings like OBYC (FI - MM Settings), VKOA (FI - SD settings), AO90 - Asset accounting GL determination or any other FI process will give problem at the time of configurations or in future?.
Please help me on this. What can be the points on the basis of which i can tell client that they should go for NUMERIC GL accounts only and not Alpha Numeric.
