Paying for broken downloads!

 Hi, I'm new to this forum so please be kind.
Almost every day, my BT Home Hub cuts out several times, so I have to reset it. On numerous occasions it has cut out in the middle of downloading TV programs so I have to start downloading again. Why is it that I have to pay for all of these broken downloads? It has even cut out twice just before I joined this forum 20 minutes ago. I have just received a huge bill where the broadband usage is considerably more than it should be due to the constant broken downloads. I have even tried using several download managers to help with resuming broken downloads to save a bit of money, but as soon as I start to download anything using this software, the hub cuts out immediately! I've tried calling BT several times, but I have been put on hold for so long that I've given up calling. I know someone with the same problem who has now given up and is trying to move to another provider but BT won't give them the mac code. I will probably want to go elsewhere but I won't be able to either if I can't get my mac code.
Anyway, why am I having to pay for some error with my hub causing all of the broken downloads?

Hi are you using BT vision if so your downloads to that service are free if you are downloading the programmes from some other service then they are classed as part of your download allowance whether complete or not that is not  the problem of any ISP as  your downloading is your own choice  as to mac codes All ISP's are required to supply a MAC code within 7 days of request failing to do so  renders them liable  to  a fine from the controlling body you are however liable for any charges due  to the isp if you are still under contract and you are liable  too be charged accordingly

    I recently shot photos for my sister's wedding, and we are interested in uploading the images to a site, then be able to charge for each download. It can be one set price for each download, but preferably 3 different prices depending on the size/quality of the image downloaded.(screen res, medium res, high res). We are also considering offering prints from the photos that they choose. I'm not talking about ripping people off here, just a small fee.
    I've also considered just putting a donation button (paypal), and working on the honor system, and let chips fall where they may.
    All profits will be given to the newlyweds to help them kickstart their journey.
    So, my question is...Does anyone know of any reasonably priced options in order to do this? Or, maybe something I haven't thought about yet.

    You need to be aware that the features you are asking for are something you will have to pay for, plenty of "free" solutions but you do not get the dollars from it, rather the hosting company do.

    Ok so my hard drive crashed itself and I lost all of my iTunes songs/apps. So I was thrilled to find out that there was this thing called iCloud. So I downloaded all of my previous purchases. I didn't think about this until now but do I have to pay for those purchases again!?! I am freaking out right now because that is over 500 dollars that I would have to pay!!! I looked on  the previous purchase page on my iTunes account and it doesn't record me downloading my songs/apps a second time. Does that mean that I am not charged? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Does the film show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page for re-downloading ? If it does (films can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where they can be re-downloaded not all film studios have agreed to it) then try deleting the film from your iTunes library and redownload it : re-downloading.
    If you can't re-download the film or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
    Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • After paying for and downloading apps i was informed that they are not supported on my iphone version?

    I ordered Paranormal Recordings and then pained $2.99 for it. Then after it downloaded, i tried to add it to my iphone and it said that it cant be added because it doesn't work with my particular "version" of iphone. I was ******, but really wanted an app like that. I went back to the description and all i could find was that it was "Iphone and Ipad eligible" so i think that is bs that they don't tell you before you buy it that you cant use it.
    Then i decided to download Ghost Hunters EVP app and it was the same price. Well the same exact thing happened there. Im so ****** iver spent $6.00 on apps that i cant even use. Anyone have any experience getting refunds for crap like this??

  • HT1296 Is there any way I can transfer the music from my ipod touch to my computer without having to pay for it? Itunes worked fine with my ipod on my old laptop. I am not willing to risk losing all of the music on my ipod to update to the newest iOS.

    I really don't want to lose all of the music I have on my ipod touch. It worked fine with my ipod and my old laptop but I got a new laptop and now it doesn't want to sync anything except purchases I made on the ipod and everything that was in the cloud. The rest of the music on my ipod is from old CDs and I am away from home. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some advice. I also don't really want to pay for a download that moves the music into itunes so if anything is free and safe that would be great or if there is a way to do it manually. Again thanks to anyone who has advice to share.

    You would have to purchase a 3rd party program ( not supported by Apple).
    The ipod is not a storage/backup device.
    Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

    am finding applications such as bloomberg/facebook on iphone very useful. however am concerned about the costs involved.
    1) understand that if i have wi-fi @ home and I connect to these applications using my own wi-fi, it is free and i don't have to pay additional charges - is this correct?
    2) when i'm outside (no free wi-fi), and I click on say, Bloomberg, phone automatically downloads new data - I assume I will have to pay for this? Is there a way that I can prevent download of data when there is no free wi-fi. i.e., when i'm out i can read just the news that i have previously downloaded @ home without the phone just auto-refreshing the data download even when i'm out (assuming I have to pay for the download)

    If you are in the US, you are already paying $30 for access to unlimited data for when you are away from a wifi network.

    Trying to pay for a game update and keeps saying contact itunes support. Able to pay for itunes download but not game update.  Have tried the support but unable to find anything to help.

    Did you actually contact someone in iTunes Support, or just look at the support website?

    It looks like the answer is to log out of iTunes and then back in.  That allowed Rentals to show up in my Movies Library.  I rebooted about three times which didn't work.  I closed the application and restarted it many times which didn't work.
    The solution was to log out of my username and then back in.  That worked.
    iTunes Bug.

    It sounds like you may have subscriptions.
    If you want to view your app subscriptions:
    From your device's Home screen, tap App Store.
    Tap Featured at the bottom of the screen.
    Scroll to the bottom of the page.
    Tap the Apple ID button in the lower-left corner. (If you are not signed in, tap the Sign In button, and sign in with your Apple ID. Then, scroll back to the bottom of the page, and tap the Apple ID button.)
    Tap the View Apple ID button.
    Enter your password and tap OK.
    From the main account page, scroll down and tap Manage App Subscriptions. If you don't have app subscriptions this button will not be displayed.
    You'll then be taken to your App Subscriptions page.
    To turn off auto-renewal:
    From your Manage App Subscription page, choose an app subscription. 
    Tap the subscription category for which you want to disable auto-renewal.
    Tap On to toggle the switch to Off.

  • I can't download any more on my ipad due to my icloud storage being full.  The ipad came with the icloud free storage but now it seems that i have to pay for more storage on icloud.  Do i have to?  What if i dont want icloud?

    The ipad is my son's so he doesn't really need the icloud as he only uses his ipad to play apps.  The ipad seems to have a lot of unused capacity but it won't let him download any more apps without paying for additional icloud storage.  Do we have to use icloud or can we just use the ipad without icloud and keep downloading apps until the ipad capacity is full?

    Should be able to. I dont' use iCloud and I have no issue downloading apps.
    you may need to be patient though, from what some have said, it may be that the app store is a bit swamped and busy with all the new iPad owners.
