Paying for free BT NetProtect Plus on Broadband Op...

I originally had Broadband Option 1 and purchased BT NetProtect Plus. Since then I have upgraded to Broadband Option 2 and noticed on my last bill that it was an item being paid for (although it was still during free period).
Is BT NetProtect Plus charged on Broadband Option 2 or should this be included in the broadband package and therefore not charged for. If so, how can this be rectified?

iCloud backs up your iOS device (not your Mac) automatically. You can remove the backup:

and it will not back up again. This will not affect a backup made using iTunes. The notice you see refers to calendars, contacts, iWork documents and so on, which live on the server and are read from there by your Mac, and so will obviously disappear if you turn iCloud off altogether (which you don't need to do) or turn off Documents (which you don't need to do either).

The price of an app, and how it is marketed, is controlled by that app's developer. They certainly may advertise that an app is free, but the App Store price is the only price. If the App Store says the app is free (ie, the download button says "Free" instead of listing a price), then it's free.
If you are seeing a bill in your bank statement for a free app, that is probably coming from some kind of in-app purchase. Many apps have additional features or special game items that can be purchased within the app. A free app may still have such in-app purchases.
It's important to note that in-app purchasing should be a very transparent process. It should be made clear that you are making a purchase, and you should have to enter your Apple ID password. If you have found an app that does not make this process transparent, and hides the fact that a purchase with real money is being made, that needs to be reported to Apple as a violation of the App Store rules. If Apple agrees with you, they will remove the app from the store until the developer submits a more compliant update.

Do I have to pay for "free" wifi in Starbucks, etc?

I just got an iPod touch yesterday. I mainly plan to use it as a PDA device, but since it has wifi capabilities I wouldn't mind being able to check the internet or my Gmail messages now and then.
At home I have an iMac desktop and hence don't have wifi. (My cable modem connects to the computer via a wire) I live in an apartment building, but all the wifi connections my neighbors use were locked. So today I took it to a Starbucks, where I've heard you can get free internet access.
But it really didn't work. The weather and stock quotes and map all updated as I thought they would, but I couldn't sync my Gmail and I couldn't get off the main page of Safari. On Safari, it was asking me if I wanted to pay for usage of AT&T's wifi connection.
Is this how it works? You have to pay, even in Starbucks? I thought it was free? Or...am I doing something wrong? I'd love some help on this.

The Starbucks free WiFi is for iPhones, not iPods.
However for your iPod, when you register your Starbucks Card and use it at least once a month, you'll receive two consecutive hours a day of complimentary Wi-Fi, courtesy of AT&T.

Why did I have to pay for free App? ridiculous!

The day before, I tried to download Free App, Which is "Sky Call". As the Downloading was processing, iTunes wanted me to keep registering Account to verify my statement. I thought It wouldn't charge any money because "The app" was definitely "For Free", so I just filled my name , address , even my card number as it requests. Right after I pressed the button "Done", iTunes charged me $1..?! OMG...
I know Just $1 isn't big deal.. ,However, The point is iTunes had to ask me about agreement before it charged. If I knew that i gotta pay for it, I wouldn't keep going that Installation on the phone. I am so confused what is going on... Even though $1 might be service charge, The Apple should have got agreement from the customer! Basically, That is Duty Customers have to know.

Apple isn't charging for a free app, it is verifying the bank card that it exists and has available funds. The charge will fall off the account without completing.

On July 12 we upgraded to plus and paid for full year.

When ever i try to download a free app it says "verification required, beforeyou can make any purchases you must tap contuinue to verify your payment info" it has happened with all the apps ive tried to download and its getting really annoying!

You're asked to verify your payment information as a security precaution, even if you're only downloading a free app. If you're being constantly asked to verify, however, not just once in a while, go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Does Apple have any plans on making an Iphone app to control Logic Pro like Motu has done for Digital performer? They make it for free which is a HUGE plus!

i was wondering if Apple has any intentions on making an Iphone/Ipad app to remotely control Logic like Motu has for Digital performer. Motu has it available for free which is a huge plus but Id be willing to pay for one if Apple came out with one of its own.Im a little mift as to why it hasnt been done, Im sure they are capable of it.

I've been using Touch.OSC, from Hexler. It is not created by Apple but works like a charm on Logic. I've been using the app for over a year both on my iPad and my iPhone. Paying for line rental and broadband only

I have recently received my bill and want to stop using my landline phone and just use my Internet phone.
Is it possible to either;
cancel my call plan altogether
or;
just pay for line rental and broadband.

Which calling plan are you currently on ? The evenings & weekends one is effectively free anyway.
Also consider the type of calls you make. When I last checked, many international call, for example, were significantly cheaper using BBTalk, but most of the calls that I make were priced the same as for landline calls.
Have you considered a call-through service, such as 18185.co.uk ? (not a recommendation - just a suggestion)

How can I get my G5 OSX 10.5.8 to quit trying to handle my mail? I have yahoo and when im on a site the computer wont ley me contact them unless i sign up for mail plus which you have to pay for. Is there a way to make it stop?

when I'm on a web site and I need to contact them the Mac wont let me do it. I have Yahoo mail but It wants me to sign up for yahoo's mail plus account which cost money so it can communicate with them. I dont want mail plus and I dont want to have to use different mail then my yahoo account. The only way with what you desire & have is to Right click or Control+click on the eMail link on the site, choose Copy Email Address, open Yahoo Mail in your Browser, New Message, then Paste in the To: bar.
WebMail is a real pain, Yahoo is a pain... are you sure you wouldn't like to modernize & streamline things with a new free POP or IMAP accont like HotMail/Live.com, or GMail?
