Paying Off Credit Cards

Ok so I have about 70,000 in CC debt and I am about to pay off 50,000 of this debt this week but would like some insight on the best way to do so that will increase credit score. Should I pay off highest cards and still have about 11 cards all under 3000 or pay down cards to get debt ratio say under 20% on all cards? I kinda want to pay off all high balances which will knock out about 12 cards but will still leave some other cards with high utilization. Hopefully I will pay off other 20,000 in next year to get out of debt. Give me your thoughts...

My own balances are down from $116k in 2009. With May and June payments this year, I crossed what I think are two major scoring levels:Total revolving balances went below 20% overall utilization on active/reporting cards (other closed cards and hidden Diners are not in this calculation)At the same time, the last of several individual accounts went just below 50%. Said another way, after mid-June, no individual revolving accounts were over 50% utilization. In June, as these were all coming together, my scores jumped up over a 4-week period:May 31: EQ=714 TU=727 EX=731July 8:   EQ=756 TU=775 EX=765 So my recommendation is to try for that:No individual balances over 50% utilizationOverall utilization below 20%. Good luck!

  • Best to pay off credit card all at once or slowly over time?

My urrent FICO score is ~730.  I just received a bonus and I want to pay off my sole (CitiBank) credit card with a significant balance.  Should I pay it off all at once or would it be better to pay it off slowly over an extended period?

It really doesn't matter.  If they're going to balance chase you they're going to balance chase you.  You're not doing yourself any favors by keeping your utilization higher for a longer period of time.  Short term high utilization generally isn't an issue but prolonged high utilization can lead to adverse action. richmcnutt wrote:

There are a number of other things you can do to improve your score (long term).  For example, in the long game you need more than one credit card.  FICO views a profile with only one card as "thin."This.  Lower utilization is generally better as long as you don't have all 0 balances reporting.  Fewer balances are generally better.  That's why the recommendation to only allow one balance to report at 10% or less (or $2 according to CB) is suggested for those looking to eke out every possible point when applying for new credit.

Can I pay off my App Store past due balance from a game ex.(candy crush) using an iTunes card or do I have to pay via credit card/PayPal?
I Have a past due balance from
buying gems from a game I played since my paypal account cant cover it I can no longer download any apps til the bill is paid I have already purchased an iTunes card that comes with redeem code. Did I buy the wrong card or is it possible to pay bill using itines card ?

Prepaid cards or gift certificates should clear the balance, yes. You could also put in a credit card to pay off the balance, then remove the card information once the balance has been cleared.

  • Payment comes off credit card not account when apps are brought

payment for apps comes off credit card insted of account

Go back into your iTunes account and set the credit card to none. As long as you have a card set, it will charge the card instead of credit on your account.

  • Purchase fail cause I used to pay by credit card

purchase fail cause I used to pay by credit card .Itunes card is danger, I don't like to pay with that method. Can iTunes gift card can't pay in-app ?

By 'purchase fail' you mean ... ? And 'iTunes card is danger' ? If you redeem iTunes gift cards onto your account then you should be able to make in-app purchases via your account's balance.

  • Cancel Incoming Payment (if Pay by credit card)

    Hi..
    I want to ask,
how to Cancel Incoming Payment (if pay by credit card), and incoming payment created one month ago..
If i create new incoming payment, and i cancel, it works..
But if i find old incoming payment, i cant cancel it
the error sounds: "one of the credits voucher was cashed".
any idea to solve this problem?
    Thankyou for your help
    regards

    Hi Dony,
Issue is described in SAP Note 542274. I assume that mentioned credit voucher is overdue, and the settings in Administrations - System Initialization - General Settings - Sales tab, Submit Credit Vouchers is  "Automatically". It means, that credit voucher is already deposited, you can check it in Banking - Deposits - Deposit - Cheques/Credit Card/Cash tab(It depends on the payment means of incoming payment).
It is not possible to cancel deposited credit vouchers, you must to
create a similar Incoming Payment with negative amounts and deposit it.
    Regards,
    Paul

The payment can be handled by PayPal, Google Checkout etc. Button codes are put on the sales page and you can hook up with any type of shopping cart.
This, and the following two pages, show an example of a website sales page, paypal and digital delivery via a shopping cart...

I am asked for a security code when paying by credit card. What security code is this?

Do you mean the one on your credit card? That should be on the back of the card. It's either a three or four digit number. Generally displayed above where you sign the card.

  • HT201303 How to take off credit card info

How do I take off credit card info for iTunes

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

  • Charge off credit card

I have an old account with credit union that was charged off July 2009. I contacted the bank and they refuse to speak in detail about the account! I was quickly given the number to collection agency who has the account. I contacted collection company a few years ago and per the rep she said I was sued for the debt and I didn't show up to court! She also stated its in public records! Because of that I have to pay original debt owed plus court fees and interest! I never got served with paper to go court! Public records on all my credit reports are 0! Not only that this collection company isn't on my report? The account is due to drop off next year! For the last few years I've done a good job obtaining accounts I constantly get pre approval letters but I don't need any more accounts! Should I pay or wait till it drops off?

I would call the collection agency back and ask for details such as the court it was filed in, the case number, and the date of filing or judgement.  You might find they won't be able to give you such info if they are simply trying to scare you.  Also ask for the information in writing and get their fax number and fax a request.  If they are not being honest with you then that is against the law.  A CA can't threaten you with a lawsuit, unless they truly intend to do so, however some of the less than up and up ones do it all the time.  I have been contacted about an old debt that I cannot be sued for about two years now.  It is for the same debt each time.  I send them faxes for a cease and desist and then some 'other' company calls me and starts the whole process over again.  They tell me they are going to sue, they tell me the debt is valid because I made payment arrangements, and they tell me other things too.  I ask for their physical address and most times they tell me they don't have to give it to me and that they will only give me a PO Box.  Sometimes they give me a physical address, which I Google, usually while on the phone with them, and point out that either that address doesn't exist or it is for a McDonalds.  (No it never has actually been a McDonalds, but it has never been a valid address for them.)  Even though it is a different name when the whole process starts over, I am certain that some of the representatives have the same name.  I think they use a name of another CA, or something similar, so if people ever can find an address it leads to a dead end.  The last time I got a call was on June 19 and I called them back and they said they would remove from their system.  Since then I actually haven't received another call.  I am waiting though. Once they said they were going to sue me and then changed it to the creditor was going to sue me.  The creditor was GE which is now Sychrony.  I guess Synchrony doesn't really care too much at this point because I have $4000 Wally World card, a $9600 PayPal Card, and now a $5000 Lowes Card with them.  Did your address change?  If so they could have simply served the paperwork to the old address, which is allowed by law if there is no forwarding address.  However, you might just find they are the likes as to what I have described above.  You might be surprised how many CAs don't actually follow the law and don't tell you the truth.  I had one which called one of my credit card companies and posed as me to find out my available balance and then offer to settle for that exact amount.  There is no way they could have known my available balance, as it was different than that which was on my credit reports!  They were more than willing to settle for less, much less when I pointed that out and told them that the bank was ready and willing to testify against them for my account having been accessed illegally, since the bank wanted to protect their own liability.  The bank never said they would do that, but I figured if they were going to do such a thing, then what harm would there be if I let them think the bank was willing to do so. I agree, except that if a judgement is already in place there's technically not a 'threat' of a lawsuit - the judgement means the lawsuit has already happened, and the OP lost by default (default judgement).  This is why I mentioned the option of checking to see if a lawyer can get it vacated, i.e. like it didn't happen, due to not being properly served.  The 'good news' is that even with a judgement, it's the plaintiff's burden to search out any possibly funds that can be used to satisfy the judgement; the court does not assist with this.  If it's a small dollar amount, it's not likely the creditor will even bother, but as always, YMMV.If, being the key word here, if there was really a judgement and the OP was properly served then it is doubtful that it can be vacated.  The OP does state later that they did not change addresses and this probably means that the CA was really just trying to scare them.  If the CA already had a judgement, they would have pursued it and started seizing funds or garnishing wages.

  • I have a balance in my iTunes account but would like to pay by credit card. How do I do that?

How do I pay by account's credit card instead of balance in my credit from gift card?

I'm in exactly the same situation -- I just got a big gift card on my iTunes account, and then American Express sent the 5 free songs offer, which expires in a few weeks.  I found the following instructions from someone on another website.  I haven't tried them myself but they look like they'll work.
According to Apple's page, it uses the following order for song purchases:
    Song credits.
Gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credits.
    Credit cards.
Thus, it would appear that you cannot charge a credit card without using up your credits or gift certificates first. However, similar to what @Nick said, you could just open up another account, add the credit card to it, and then gift the items you want to your original account.Update: Based on my own tests of self-gifting, these are my findings:
Gifts will deduct money from the credit card on your account; they will not use up song credits nor gift card credit. This means that you do not need to open another account, just add it as a credit card and gift it to yourself.
You cannot send a gift to the same email address as your iTunes account. This can easily be circumvented by sending it to one of your other email accounts.
The easiest method of gifting to yourself is to select the print option. It will show you a code which you then use to redeem the song. It will allow you to redeem the code on thesame account.

  • Can we tun off Credit card valiation for BP in CRM

    Hi all,
Customer is created in R/3 and his credit card has already expired. The R/3 system does not make any validation for credit card. The credit card is validated only when he places orders via credit card.
But when changes come into CRM, the CRM system validates the business partner and results in error as Credit card expired.
I found in one of the message that Tiest has said (to turn of email validation) checks are being executed thru configuration on filed groups. Simply turn it off and you should be ok.
Could Tiest or any one share how to disable credit card validation for customers in CRM.
I greatly appreciate the help provided through this forum.
    thanks in advance
