Paying to rent the same movie twice because of glitches: Refundable?

I rented a movie but it got stuck after about an hour. Tried to resume several times with no luck. Other services seemed to be working fine (i.e. Netflix) so I guess my bandwidth was OK. I wanted to resume the next day, but had to pay again. What is the protocol here? Can I get a refund for one of the payments?

Your best bet is to contact iTunes Support:

Hope you get a refund

  • HT201611 Can I rent the same movie twice?

A while back we rented a pirate fairy and my kids would like to rent it again, but only the buy option is available.  Any way for us to rent it again?

Movies can be rented a second time perfectly easily, provided of course that they are available for rent. There's no film actually called ' A Pirate Fairy' (at least in the UK - did you mean 'Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy'?
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/movie/tinker-bell-pirate-fairy/id840507898
This is only available for purchase - I wouldn't have thought it had ever been available for rent because it was only released this year. I assume you're sure you didn't actually buy it before? Or perhaps it's another film...

  • Why should I pay the same movie twice?

    Hello
I've rented a movie on my iMac computer in iTunes.
When I would watch the movie on my Appel TV, I could not find the movie in my "buy Folder".
It surprised me when I buy / rent a movie in iTunes on the same account (Appel ID). So iTunes can not handle on what device I want to see my movie.
I have now paid the same movie twice what I think is unfair.
    Regards Morten

Can I play my rental on more than one device?
        * If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
        * If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

  • HT1657 I accidentally ordered the same movie twice

I think I accidentally ordered the same movie twice, once on my computer and once through Apple TV.  How can I request a credit on one of those purchases?

I believe you are only charged once you start watching.  If so, problem solved.

  • Why do I have to pay twice to rent the same movie?

On my ATV2 system it has now happened several times where I will rent a movie and while it is downloading in the background someone will click around maybe watch a youtube video or some other tv show on our home sharing network. a day or two later when I go to watch my rented show it's not ready to watch. So, I have to start the download over again and I get charged again. What's up with that?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unless you are accidentally starting the movie before someone watches YouTube or whatever, this shouldn't be happening. Are you sure you aren't starting it, are you checking for rentals or trying to rent it again, when you return to watch the movie.
It is quite normal that you'll need to download it again if someone does something else, but you shouldn't need to pay for it.

  • Using the same subreport twice

I'm trying to use the same subreport twice in the same
report, passing it different parameters that modify its query, but
I keep getting a data binding error. I'm pretty sure what's causing
it is the fact that I'm using the same subreport twice because if I
save a copy of the same subreport with a different name and include
it instead of repeating the same subreport things work fine. Any
good reason why using the same subreport twice shouldn't work, or
any solution t o this problem?

Most certainly - you add the second audio track to the second audio stream for the track (A2). You can then set your menu buttons to play the track with either version of the audio. This is generally how things are done when there is a directors commentary, or where there are different types of audio (say, Dolby 5.1 and a standard stereo track for the same footage) that the viewer can choose between.

I have rented a movie 8hours ago, and it will NOT play. The system also charged me twice, for the same movie! How can you help me please?

For the film not playing, you can use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
Not sure whether you can request a refund for the double charge via the same link, if not then you can contact iTunes support here : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store

  • HT204053 my wife and i have seperate itunes accounts is there a way we can link our accounts to share songs so we dont have to pay for the same song twice?

Since, i purchased and ipad 2 and an iphone and to keep our stuff from combing i used a different computer and created an new apple ID for myself so our info wouldnt combine, I was wondering if i did the right thing or if i should have went about it a different way. I was going to see if there was a way when she purchased a song i could get it. I dont want to pay for the same song twice and only want to share songs. If i cant do this can i copy her library and paste it into my itunes??
Any help wouldl be greatly apprecieated we both have icloud set up but i cant figure out the best solution.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.
