Paying your cell phone online

As the title states, does anyone know how to pay the cell phone from AT&T services online. On their web page, I have been scavenging through stress and just mounts of missery only to find little to no hope of a solution. A small guide to the diamond in the ruff will most be appreciated.
Thank you T-T

If you're an AT&T customer in the U.S., you can dial *729 on your iPhone and pay that way.

  • WiFi Tether Your Android Tablet to Your Cell Phone - LG Marquee Boost Mobile Example

    Greetings Earthlings and Android Fans....
Just posted this to my blog and wanted to share a text version here. Check it out if you're looking to tether your tablet to your cell phone. I tethered my Thrive to my Boost Mobile LG Marquee.
From:  Kaio's Klassroom: WiFi Tether Your Android Tablet to Your Cell Phone - LG Marquee Infrastruct...
Want to tether your tablet to your cell phone, but Ad-Hoc got you down?  How about trying this nifty little tweak that got me up in running in a jiffy!!
I recently got a new LG Marquee Prepaid Phone with Boost Mobile @Amazon and I really love it.  Only problem is, I was spoiled with my last phone because it was rooted to support Infrastructure tethering and I had no idea how difficult and unusual that was.  I've since done some research with my new Boost Mobile LG Marquee, and after a little trial and error (and some lucky Google searches) I have successfully tethered my LG Marquee to my Toshiba Thrive tablet!!!
    Here's what I did:
Mandatory Disclaimer - The following information is for informational purposes only.  Proceed at your own risk!!!  Rooting will void your warranty and could "brick" your phone if you do something wrong!!  So if you damage your phone, or any of your tech, that's on you.
NOTE: If you don't have an LG Marquee, just search "your phone model" + "root" and you should find plenty of information specific to your phone.  There's always people wanting to do the same thing you are, so it's just a matter of finding the information that's already out there.  Once your phone is rooted, come back here and start on Step 2.
Step 1 -- Root your LG Marquee (You do NOT need to root your Tablet)
The following information was taken from LG Cell Phones Blog and are for the LG Esteem, which is a generic root mod.
    > Enable USB Debugging on your LG Marquee: Go to Settings > Applications > Development > Enable Debugging and check the box.
    > Download and install the LG USB drivers at:  LG Cell Phones Blog You want the file "LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 2.1_2.exe"
    > After installing the USB drivers connect your phone to a PC.  On the phone, pull down the notification bar at the top of the phone's screen and click on USB Connected.  Set the phone to Internet Connection mode (CHARGE ONLY not Mass Storage).
    > Download "LG_Esteem_Root.zip"  at:  LG Cell Phones Blog.  Unzip the file and double-click on the run.bat file.
Note: Kaspersky Internet Security will flag this file as a Trojan: "Exploit.Linux.Lotoor.ag"  I don't believe this file is a Trojan, per se.  I believe it's required during the root process.  When I let Kaspersky eliminate the file, my phone wouldn't root.  So I decided to run the root program on a secondary computer, just in case.  I disabled Kaspersky temporarily on that computer, and ran the root zip and my phone rooted without a hitch.  I later scanned my phone with Webroot Security and AVG, and neither found any viruses on my phone, so I believe the process is safe.  Technically, rooting your phone probably does involve a Trojan hack, hence why Kaspersky flags that file.  However, I must reiterate to proceed at your own risk.
Just in Case -- How to Unroot Sprint LG Marquee:
Use root explorer and delete superuser.apk from the /system/app folder. Go to the Android market and download and install super user. Use root explorer again and delete su from /system/bin. Go to the market and uninstall super user.  Do a factory reset & you will be back to square one.
Step 2 -- Verify that you have properly rooted your phone with this nifty free app: Root Checker Basic
If you did everything right, you should get a message that says "Congratulations, this device has root access."  If you fail to get that message, go back to Step 1.
Step 3 -- Download the Android WiFi Tether for root users app
Currently, the only version of Android WiFi Tether that worked for me was 3.1-beta7.  The newest version doesn't work properly with tablets, so be sure to get 3.1-beta7.  Here's a link and QR code for easy access: WiFi Tether 3.1-beta7 apk
Step 4 -- Configure WiFi Tether app:
I've tried many settings, but these are the only ones that have worked.  Start the app and grant Super User Permissions.  Then Click Menu to get into the app's setting.  Inside the Settings, do the following:
    > Change Device Profile to: Samsung Galaxy S
    > Change Setup Method to: Netd (Master)
    > Enable WiFi Encryption: Check box to Enable
    > Change Pass Phrase to: any 13 digit password of your choice.
    > Change SSID to: any name of your choice.
    > Change Channel to: 4 (2427mhz)
    > Disable Update Check: Check box to Disable.
    > Click your phone's Back Arrow to Exit back to the app's Main Screen
    > Touch the WiFi button onscreen to start tethering.
    > Grant Super User Permissions
Note: If you get Error Code 67, Click Dismiss.  If you update, I don't know what will happen; my guess is it will disable the ability to tether.  But if I click Dismiss, my tethering is Enabled, and works perfectly.
Step 5 -- Grab Your Tablet & Start Tethering
    > Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Check the box to Enable WiFi > Click WiFi Settings > Under WiFi Networks, find the SSID for your tethering app that you entered in Step 4 above. > Click on the SSID of your tethering app > Enter the 13 digit Pass Phrase you created in Step 4 above and Click Connect.
That's it!  Congratulations -- your tablet should now be tethered to your cell phone!
Now that you're tethered to your cell phone, be smart, and DON'T download a ton of gigabytes.  Just be smart about it, and you should be fine.  Remember, tethering to your cell phone probably goes against the terms of service with your cell phone carrier, so DON'T abuse the privilege.
Now that you're the envy of all your friends, why not test your data speeds: SpeedTest App - FreeMy data speed test results with my Toshiba Thrive tablet tethered to my LG Marquee:
    Download:  855kbps   Upload:  302kbps
That's pretty great for a 3g no-contract cell phone with unlimited data.
    Happy tethering everyone!
    Go forth and Androidify!
    Hugs, Kaio

  • Anyone know how to get your landline home phone to ring when your cell phone rings...I have no cell service in my house!

Anyone know how to get your landline home phone to ring when your cell phone rings...I have no cell service in my house!

When you are on your way home, you can forward your calls to your home phone. Cancel forwarding when you get to an area with service.
*72-xxx-xxx-xxxx with the x's being your home phone #.
    *73 to cancel.
You can also do this with Google Voice.

  • Having your cell phone ring when someone calls your landlines

    Hello,
First sorry if this is the wrong area.
My Aunt was telling me how at their house they got rid of their landlines service, but was able to keep their number.  Using equipment from verizon they were able to hook up something she said looked like a router and when someone would call the landlines number one of the cell phones would ring.
She wasn't really sure what it was called, but she said her husband got the equipment and all from Verizon.  Can anyone tell me what this service is called and where on the website I can look at it to read more about it?
    Thanks

I'm not about a piece of equipment that allows this, but here are a couple options to do what you're looking for:
    1) Port your landline number to Verizon as a wireless number.  This will completely close your account with your landline service provider, and your number will now be attached to your cell phone with Verizon.  It should be fairly simple to do, just call Verizon or visit a store to get the process started.
    2) Forward your current landline to a cell phone.  If you only want your landline calls to go to your cellphone when you aren't there to answer, you could set up conditional call forwarding on your landline and point it to your cell phone.  You would keep your landline service, and this option would make sense if you want to use the landline when you are home, but get calls from that number sent to your cellphone when you aren't there to answer.  Different companies have different procedures and possibly charges for this service, you'd have to call your landline provider to find out.
If you want to be done with the landline service completely, just port the number to Verizon.  If you want to keep it, set up forwarding.

  • What Does Your Cell Phone Color Say About You??

If you’ve read my bio you’ve probably noticed that I am a huge fan of the color pink, including my pink BlackBerry cell phone.  I’ve been told that my choice of pink for my cell phone is due to my girly, playful and innocent nature - and would have to agree that sounds about right.  What is your cell phone color and what do you find it says about you?

My phone is a blue LG Chocolate Flip.  I think that my cell phone says that I love the color, I dont like qwerty phones because I find them to be boxy (that's just me).  I prefer a flip for some reason!  It also has a really good camera for a phone and I am a total shutterbug!

  • How to get emails on your cell phone?

Is it possible to have my emails automatically set-up to send to my phone as well? I've read you can do this with Outlook and thought maybe I could set up Apple Mail to do this?

If you mean you want to receive your e-mail messages on your cellphone as text messages, it should be possible to do this, but remember that an SMS text message is limited to 160 characters.
Each cellular carrier maintains its own "mail to SMS gateway" - for example, the ATT gateway address is [email protected]
    For other carriers, see
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Listof_carriers_providing_SMStransit
So if your cell carrier is ATT Wireless and your cell number is 987-654-3210, you would set up the e-mail forwarding address as [email protected]
With regard to automatic forwarding of incoming e-mails, I don't normally use Mail.app, but its help section contains the following:
    To automatically forward messages:
Choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Rules.
Click Add Rule and type a descriptive name for the rule.
Set the conditions necessary for the rule to apply to a message.
Choose Forward Message from the “Perform the following actions” pop-up menu.
Enter the email address where you want the messages forwarded.
Click Message and enter the text you want to appear, along with the text of the original message, in the forwarded message.

  • Is it possible to use your cell phone as your internet through your MacBook

I was just wondering if I could get internet through my cell phone onto my MacBook.
Is it possible and if so then how?
    Thanks,
    Sam

I use a Boost Mobile phone for internet access. It's slow, about dial-up speed, but it's very convenient. Not to mention, the bill is unbeatable.
It's 6 bucks a month. I picked up a Boost Mobile phone and a USB cable for about 35USD. Not to mention, there's no obligation to a contract.
The only problem is that the smallest amount of money you can put on your Boost account at one time is 15 dollars. But look at that compared to other wireless plans.
If you're not in need of bandwidth, I'd recommend it.

  • Hey i was wondering if you could change your iChat account name to your cell phone number ?

Is there a way to change it from your email to a cell phone number?

    HI,
I am not entirely sure what you are trying to achieve.
AIM accounts (Screen Names) can be linked to some extent to Mobile/Cell phone
https://settings.aim.com/  You need to Log in here to see more info in the Mobile setting
You can also Send SMS to US based phones (on Carriers that support this)
http://www.aim.com/  Scroll down the page a little.
Basically an US based Cell Phone Number can be added As If it is a Buddy.  (Technically the Computer has to be set to the US to see the menu items in some version of iChat).
My the time you update to Mountain Lion then the Messages app has iMessages added to what iChat can do.
The iMessages account can link and then sync iMessages sent to an iPhone Number  and /or and Apple ID.
It will work on the Mac version of Messages meaning you can Send If you were the iPhone (number)  and also receive iMessages sent to the iPhone number)
The same is true on the iPhone it can Receive and Send from both.
I chat can not do this last item.
There is no way that I now of to "Spoof" a phone number as the Screen Name  other than th Mobile Link in the first item I linked you to.

  • A way to pay my cell phone bill?

Just wondering if its possible for me to pay about 50$ a week instead of paying the whole bill on one day?

You'll need to call Customer service to make special arrangements - it's not normally expected that you make weekly payments rather than one monthly payment. Why not put aside that $50 a week so you CAN Pay the whole amount at once?

  • How to block all AIM text messages to cell phone

    Hi folks,
I was woken up by an AIM text message (obviously spam) on my phone around 6:30am this morning. I received two more text spam between 6:30am and 7:15am until I put my phone into "Standalone mode" so I could go back to sleep. Each text message was from a different 6-digit phone number or 6-digit code, so blocking one number would not help. When I got out of bed and turned my phone back on, I was still receiving more AIM text messages (also obviously spam) to check out a certain URL.
I have an older prepaid plan. So when I log into My Verizon and look for the spam controls, I don't have any.
I found a way to turn off ALL AIM text messages. I found this site:
    http://www.aim.com/products/txt#im-to-mobile
    Under
    Manage Your Mobile Privacy
    It has a link called:
Block texts if you are not an AIM user
    http://www.aim.com/products/txt#block-txt
You enter your cell phone number into this page, you get a confirmation number via text message on your cell phone, you enter this 4-digit confirmation number (located at the end of the text message) into this web page, and click "Disable Messages". It says:
Pressing this button will disable all text messages coming from AOL® and AIM® Services to your phone.
Once you click that button, a little pop-up window will appear that says:
    The page at aolmobile.aol.com says:
SMS to your device successfully blocked.
    with an OK button.
I hope it works! It looks like it will work for all cell phones, not just Verizon. So far my phone has been quiet for the past hour and 15 minutes, I am not getting any more AIM text messages....

There is no know issue like this; have you installed any Preware apps? Have you tried restarting your device from Device Info, Reset Options, and Restart? I would try this first; but you may have to go the next step and Erase Apps & Data. This would delete all PIM data and apps off you device, and then you would have to reload from your backup data. This however will also delete all text messages on the device, and there is no way to restore them. The last step would be to run webOS doctor on the device to restore or repair the operating system. You can get this application from www.palm.com/rom, enter your serial number and follow the steps on this web page.

  • Incorrect number on my cell phone from Skype?

In trying to set up my account I put in the number that was on my cell phone #759-73, and it says that is an incorrect number??? Please check and see if I have two accounts and am using the wrong number or what is happening.

Let me add to my earlier response.   DO not even attempt to discuss this matter with comcast or their techs. They simply are unaware of the problem and can do nothing to fix it. Call Neustar at the number I gave you in ealrier post..  Tell them the problem and either have them delete your cellphone number from their data base or set the caller id to show city, state and your number.  Deletion is probably better. Tech at Neustar did this told it would take effect in two hours and the problem was gone in 5 minutes. I am sick and tired of disconnects, talking to techs at comcast who barely can speak english, mumble, one told me today to go to the website and disable call blocking from my cell then call  home and then reenable it after making the call.  LMAO!   Yeah, while driving down the road. This afternoon I got a call from a  rather arrogant tech who didn;t want to hear the problem, didn;t undertand the problem and tried to blame the problem on my cell service.  No problem when I call anyone outside of Comcast and it was corected once before .   So the problem is with your cell phone number listing at Neustar.  Since Comcast uses Neustar for their caller id numbers they should be be able to delete or correct entires but apparently cannot.   Good Luck, my days with comcast are limited.

  • A method to extract audios in movies to be as cell  phone ringtones

A method to extract audios in movies to be as cell phone ringtones
Have you ever thought of setting the amazing background music or movie songs to be as your cell phone ringtones? Actually, besides directly adding audio files to be as ringtones, it has been already workable to extract audios from video files, such as general DVDs, Blu-rays, camcorder footages, web videos, or other common videos to make cell phone ringtones. As long as you grasp a correct method, you will do it absolutely easy. Now I’d like to introduce you guys a nice way to make it possible, no matter you are using the powerful iPhone, Blackberry, other smart phones or general cell phones, like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Eric, Samsung, etc., you can totally take advantage of this way to make your own preferred ringtones.
    Required software:
    Pavtube Ringtone Maker
    Step 1: Load video files
Click “Add” button to import video files which you want to extract audios to make ringtones into Pavtube Ringtone Maker.
Step 2: Select output format and set destination folder
Click the drop-down list of “Format” to select an output format according to your cell phone compatible ringtone format. There are lots of output options, including MP3, M4R, MP2, MPA, WMA, AAC, AC3, MKA, OGG, AIFF, RA, RAM, WAV, APE, and FLAC. Here I choose .m4r for iPhone as an example. Meanwhile, you can click the folder icon at the end of “Output” to specify where to locate the generated ringtone files. Additionally, Pavtube Ringtone Maker allows you to extract audios from a certain video clip, and you just need insert your wanted start time and end time into the textboxes after “Start” and “End” respectively.
    Step 3: Set advanced settings
If you have interest to adjust audio parameters like codec name, sample rate, bit rate, and audio channels, you can click “Advanced” button to enter the following interface.
    Step 4: Start ringtone making
Once the above steps are finished, you can click “Generate” button to begin ringtone making. See, even batch conversion can be done simultaneously.
After finished, you are able to find out the generated ringtone files via clicking “Locate” button easily.
