How long does it take to update the account so I can download?
Payment verification is done by going to your iTunes account via computer, and ensuring all details are correct (credit card, address, security number).
If the issue persists, contact iTunes.

You need to be in a country to use its store, so you cannot use the US (or any other country's) store - until if/when Apple open an iTunes store in the Maldives then unfortunately you won't be able to download any iTunes content

If you dont have none option then you must own itunes some money. So you have to enter the payment like a itunes giftcard. you can contact itunes by email by going to expresslane.apple.com

I am unable to purchase games. I have been purchasing games since last year. Now I get an error update payment info when I do that it says contact iTunes support. I've sent an email, no reply, called them they said go to expresslane.apple. No help available there, cannot chat online bcos I'm not in the US. I have sent an email but didn't get any response. Please someone help my son wants a game.

Im trying to update my apps and it wont let me. When i clicked on an app to update it or to download a free app it says "sign in required, tap continue and sign in to view your billing information" when i did it says "you must verify your payment info before you can makes purchases" then "security code is invalid" when the security code is valid. I even switched credit card it keeps saying the same thing....... THIS IS NOT FAIR........ I WANNA UPDATE MY APPS!!!!! Btw idk why did i buy the ipad for, APPLE dont even let you download ADOBE FLASH PLAYER and must of the games required ADOBE FLASH PLAYER to play example: wizard101. Idk what i was thinking...... :(
Why not simply remove yoru payment info by selecting None at top?

Why I am asked to update my payment info while downloading a FREE APP from App Store? I noticed this change after updating to iOS 8.
If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

Not sure if this helps .. but it appears that whenever Adobe's payment processing backend has some internal issues, it puts the subscribers into some HELL. The only way I found it to be working is - call the customer support from your country, and speak to a CSE.
The same incident happened to me this month. Subscription failed warnings, and Email alerts. I logged into my account, but could not update credit card details. When I tried adding another card, it throwed errors. So I called the local Adobe Customer support, and gone through the painful IVR thing. But at the end I was able to reach a CSE and he helped in fixing the issue.
The Solution:
Call Adobe Customer Support.

PS : It is pathetic that Adobe's payment processing is not upto the quality, and recent breaches has made the life of subscribers bad. I really love those old Retail boxes. I never had any billing issues. -

What country is your account with Apple located? The billing address for the bank card must be identical to the way the bank shares that info with Apple or the transaction cannot be completed. The 3 digit security code on the back of the card must also be correct and the postal code.

I have been prompted to update my payment info on iCloud but can't see where to do it!
When I go into settings > account info … I follow the payment info prompt but am led to a screen that gives info on account verification but nowhere to actually do that. I Have been tryin to update and download free apps but i keep getting to verify my account because my payment info needs to be updated yet it is the same but once i but my info in it tells me it is declined is it because i only have $2.91 in my account or is it something else?
It could be. The app store puts a small hold on the funds when you try to download apps, even free ones. I thought it was only a dollar though, so having 2.91 should be ok. And I'm guessing since you have a set amount it's a gift card? Because if you have a credit card on file it could be as simple as the expiration date being out of date. If it's a debit card then that could be the reason because iTunes doesn't accept debit cards anymore, only credit cards.
Are you getting this message as you try to download? Because if it's a separate e-mail it could be a phishing attempt.
