Payment medium workbench vs. payment media program.

Dear Friends,
Anybody have idea about the Pro's and Con's for "Payment medium workbench" vs. "payment media program".
Regards
Rupesh

Hi,
There is no disadvantage by using PMW.
I repeat it is a tool for which we can create the file format as per our requirements.
You will create the file format in t.code DMEE.
You can create different format files for each payment method with a variant defined.
The user can decide on the layout of the note to payee, and select differing notes to payee according to origin (vendors, customers, personnel, travel expenses, Treasury, online payments.
There is no technical knowledge required to use this tool.
Please refer below documentation for more.

  • PMW (Payment Medium Workbench) and needs to send Payment Advises to Vendor

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We are using PMW (Payment Medium Workbench) and our client needs to send Payment Advises through mail. After running F110 system should trigger mail to vendor for payment advise.
We have created one DME format and it's working fine.  DME file is getting generated when we assign DME format to our payment method.
we have also made the change for payment advice sending through email. Copy FM SAMPLE_PROCESS_00002040 to ZSAMPLE_PROCESS_00002040
    Go to transaction FIBF
Settingsprocess modules of an SAP application
    Add a new entry for 00002040 FI-FI ZSAMPLE_PROCESS_00002040
Make use of FM  ZSAMPLE_PROCESS_00002040  for adding vendor email address and make the payment medium.
Now the problem is, we can not do this in one go, if we need to create DME file than we have to assign DME format to our payment method and if we have to send payment advice to our vendor than we need to use Payment Medium Program RFFOGB_T (standard program).  It's radio button and we can not choose both the program and Payment Medium Workbench.
I need your valuable advice what need to be done in order to get DME file and payment advice send to vendor in one go.
    many thanks for your reply.

Do you recall how were you able to resolve this issue?

  • Implementing Payment Medium Workbench vs RFFO* pgm

    Hi,
Presently in our SAP system, we use RFFOUS_T to generate ACH files. If we were to shift from this paradigm and implement Payment Medium Workbench to generate ACH files, what are the changes that are necessary ?
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

You can use transaction SA38 --> Program SAPFPAYM - Maintain Variants.
    Or
Use transaction FBPM and maintain variants.

Not yet.. per SAP, PMW will gradually phase out the classic payment medium programs (RFFO*).

  • How to process Customer format parameters with Payment Medium Workbench

    Hi
I have one bank transfer scenario PC00_M99_FPAYM requiring supplying a payment using the French format FR_ETEBAC_CRT_DOM but the execution date of the bank transfer should be replaced by the banku2019s value date. I planned to enter this required date using the Customer format parameters when running PMW.
The issue I tried to solve is described here below.
How to extract the Customer format parameters assigned to the payment medium format FR_ETEBAC_VRT_DOM when processed by the Payment medium Workbench in order to fill the Customer specific user-defined fields (ZREF01 to ZREF10 in structure FPAYHX)?
I noticed the event type 06 authorizes function modules similar like FI_PAYMEDIUM_SAMPLE_06 but the customer format parameters are only available at low level in function module FI_PAYM_MEDIUM_OPEN (example gc_format_params_c)
Can someone help on this matter?  That would be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Henri.

Just sharing my findings and proposed solution.
    This worked
The expected date is the value date/payee's bank.
This date is created by the bank transfer program prior to be processed by Payment Medium Creation Tool (SAPFPAYM)
According to functional investigation it sounds like the bank transfer program does not allow working with the value date/payee's bank.
The investigation has been done in the Payment Medium Creation Tool. It allows adding the required value date/payee's bank into a customer format parameter.
    Required configuration and development:
    - Clone the current sap format FR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM into a new Customized format ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM
    - Clone the corresponding DMEE object FR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM into a new DMEE object tree type PAYM ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM
    - Create a new data structure: ZFR_Bank_Transfer with field CRVAL Value Date at Payee's Bank (comp type PRQ_CRVAL)
    - Assign customer structure ZFR_Bank_Transfer to payment format ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM and declare field CRVAL as required field
    - Build function module ZFI_PAYMEDIUM_06_FR in charge to extract value date/payee's bank from the customer structure and move it to the customer specific user-defined field ES_FPAYHX_CREF-ZREF01
    -  in new DMEE object tree type PAYM ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM Replace Source field FPAYH-ZALDT by FPAYHX-ZREF01 in the header record

  • PDF Adobe Cheque using Payment Medium Workbench- MICR, Page overflow issues

    Hi All,
We developed a PDF Adobe form for CHEQUE assigned using Payment Medium Workbench CHECK format.
The issues I am facing are
    1. MICR symbols(in transit, BSB...) not printing however the numerals 0 to 9 is printing in MICR font. (installed MICR font in ADS to design the form)
    2. The option of DO NOT VOID CHECKS for overflow/test prints is not available in PMW. As I thought of using prenumbered stationary because of MICR font issues, where I need to void the cheque if it overflows to the next page. Getting the form output is not an issue, however PAYR is not updated with void details. By default, PMW is not voiding cheques for overflow in the cheque register.
    3. Is there any option to assign PDF Cheque form by using RFFOUS_C payment medium program.
Please let me know your comments if you have come across any of these issues.
    Thanks,
    Prabha

  • Payroll - How to set RUN DATE in Payment Medium Workbench

    Hi experts,
is it possible to set the run date in the payment medium workbench? Normally the run date is the same as the creation date. If I just try to fill in the timestamp and use another run date, no medium will be created until I set the run date = creation date.
But if I want to create the DTAUS-file now and want to set the date of the bank transfer (which is the run date, isnt it?) for the 27th of november, how do I do that? Is it possible at all without modifying the report PC00_M99_FPAYM?
Thanks for you help in advance.
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,
We have a similar problem to this.  Could you please advise whether you have found a solution to this without making changes to the program itself?
    Many thanks,

  • Payment Medium Workbench

After doing payment run, when we go to FDTA to download file, the file gets downloaded and then we open it using notepad. Is there a way to save the file from FDTA as .csv file.
Even if we change the file to .csv extension, the data gets collected in the on cell of the first row. Using delimeters does not work because there are no commas to separate the fields.
Our requirement is a csv file with all fields separates by commas. We are using Payment medium workbench .

    Hi Sheena,
A CSV format is not offered by standard in SAP. No Carriage Return are set standard to characters in the format tree at the segment end- and Line Feed. You can try put these characters in the format tree under 'file data'.
    Kind Regards,

    Hello,
SAP has provided some of the DME structures for different countries. like GB_BACS for GB etc.
If your client is not part of those structure, probably you are required to create your own structure. It also depends on the bank of your client. They may want the file in a different format. Therefore, you need to first talk to the bank and get a sample file in which they need the format.
You can create the DME structure by using transaction code DMEE - Tree Type is PAYM.
You can create the DME structure as a flat file or XML file based on the requirement of your client (bank).
You can also copy the standard structure to Z structure and modify it according to your requirements.
Please also make sure that you have made settings in OBPM1, OBPM2, OBPM3 and OBPM4 (More importantly you should maintain the path where it needs to be downloaded)
Take help of basis consultant in order to create the directories. You can see the directories in AL11.
If there are no directory path maintained in OBPM4, then the file gets saved to temporary directory in AL11.

  • Payment Medium Workbench - Custom Format

    Hi ,
We are in the middle of a global implementation. In our project we would be using Payemnt medium workbench to generate the payment run files from transaction F110. The Bank we will be dealing would require a custom format of MT101 for modification of few values. The changes would be the modules for Event 20 and 30.
We went ahead and implemented the chnges by copying the FM - FI_PAYMEDIUM_MT101_20 and FI_PAYMEDIUM_MT101_30 and added them to the configuration using OBPM1.
We are facing some issues and wanted to debug the code. Even after putting a hard BREAKPOINT in the code the program runs without stopping and is generating a payment medium file without stopping at the breakpoints.
Is there a way in the process flow of F110 that we can but a breakpoint and debug it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Arunava

The job for generating DME file is launched in background by F110, so you don't have any breakpoint. The generated job contains program SAPFPAYM_SCHEDULE. Run this program SAPFPAYM_SCHEDULE by yourself in foreground and you will see have the breakpoints.

  • Payment Medium Workbench(PMW) for check printing

    Dear experts,
We have recently implemented PMW to speed up our telegrahic transfer (TT) payments to the banks.
    All is well so far.
Now we want to include the check printouts as well. Previously when we were using the  classic payment medium program, we were able to assign the RFFOUS_C for check printing.
How do I go about doing the same thing in the PMW? Appreciate some pointers.
    regards
    Sylvia

  • PMW ( payment Medium workbench )

    Hello to everyone,
I dont know if it is possible create, in the transaction DMEE, files to the bank.
The bank send me a .pdf where i can check all the properties fields to the file.
I dont know use the transaction DMEE cos normally i was using the standar programs RFFOES_......
Someone could help me , to show how can i use the transaction DMEE.
SOme information or recommendation , a manual..
    Many thanx ..
    Best regards
    Edited by: junior1108 on Apr 29, 2010 12:39 PM

    Hello Junior,
RFFO* are standard programs designed to meet specific country requirements of files.
PMW is a new engine, which was designed to make more easy the task to create the programs to generate the payment medium files. While in RFFO* the layout of the files is hard-coded, in PMW you can see the DMEE tree and then the mapping of the information to the fields is much more easy.
Besides transaction DMEE you also should define your payment format in Tcode FBZP for the payment methods you want in the specific country. Some formats are provided in the standard SAP, you can check these formats in the SAP note 395679. You also can create new formatos or you can copy a standard format an change it according your business requirements.

  • Idoc and cheque configuration using Payment Medium Workbench ( PMW )

    Hello,
I need some guidance in configuring the idoc through PMW.
I copied the CHECK payment media and I am able to print the cheque.
I have checked the idoc options in the setting for the payment media but it is not generating the cheques.
I have seen SAP documentation, nothing specific is mentioned about configuring the idoc.
I believe that I need to create some customised event FM to create the idocs.
Can any one please provide me more information about the same.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Mayank

    Hi Mayank,
Ok, I understood your requirement. I am also facing  similar problem I am able to generate IDOC's through APP by using classic payment program given in the payment method, in the IDOC's i am able to generate the check number, with out actually printing the same.
But when I want to run F-58 for check printing it is not generating because the program assigned is different.
I will also investigate the PMW scenario, if u r successful pls share the same.
    regards
    srikanth.

  • Payment Medium Workbench Query

    Hi
I have implemented PMW for BACS payments and have 1 query with regards to how you get program SAPFPAYM in the Printout/Data Medium tab of the payment run.
    Regards
    Claire

    Hi Claire
You can define the variant for this program in transaction OBPM4.
It is not required to have the program SAPFPAYM in the printout/data tab at all.
PMW works in a different way compared to classical programs
    thanks
    Ashok
