message no. >2206 Transaction terminated

It emanated from BP master data migration from R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0. The program corrupted a periodic field in contract object by adding non existent catergory types customized under Inbound correspondence in contract account receivable and payable.

• Payment Run FPY1: Cheque request file to external system

Hi,
My business requirement is that in IS-U sometimes customers makes over payments which needs to be refunded back in case If they close the utility connections. In our case we need to make this payment by cheques.
Technical requirement: Refunds will be triggered by running payment transaction FPY1 in SAP IS-U but the cheques will be created in Peoplesoft. So we need to create an interface file in SAP application server which will contain all the data for the cheque which then will be posted to peoplesoft. Peoplesoft needs this interface file in a specific format with around 25 fields seperated by comma.
My investigation:
I read about payments and found that i can chose the payment method as check 'C' in system for the country and then can assign company code and country specific payment method as either some classic RFFO* reports or can assign a new payment format using DME and PMW. The country is CANADA and hence i tried to see the existing format 005 which does not suffice my requirement (it looks like).
I am not sure how do i achieve this, do we have some RFFO* reports with some user exits where i can alter the file with my requirements or shall i create a new format in DMEE? I am also new to DME. Kindly help.
Regards,
Amit

Hello,
Not sure whether you have already found the solution.
You can use FICA_DME_CHECK <excuse me if this is not the correct form as I do not have have ISU system with me right now>
SAP provides only one form for check printing for all the countries. You can use the same, copy and modify it to your requirements. You can send the file to third party.

• FI-CA payment run (FPY1) with remittance advice

Hi All,
Please someone help me with this.
I would like to generate a remittance advice after that I run the payment run (FPY1) for FI-CA, this remittance advice is just for outgoing payments to the customer. I don't know where in the config I have to put the form for this remittance advice and I don't know what else I have to do to generate this remittance advice.
Please any help I would be very grateful for it.
Thanks in advance,
FH.

Thanks for your opinion but FBZP is for the payment run for account payable(F110) and I need the steps to configure the remittance advice for the payment run of fica (FPY1).

• House bank selection while running payment run( FPY1)

Hi,
I am trying to post a payment run (FPY1) for open payables in FS-CD. There is an option to either manually enter the house bank details from which payment is to be made or that can be pre configured using the "maintain bank selection" criteria. Is it possible for the program to take the house bank details from the contract account (own bank details field.)
Kindly let me know your thoughts
Thanks

Hi All,
The "own bank details" entered in the contract account is used when the own bank is one of the banks defined in the Bank selection for payment program. You will observe this by giving a lower rank for the house bank/account id entered in the contract account.
If you don't include the 'Own bank' as one of the banks but maintain any other house bank/Account id for the same payment method it will not make the payment. In this case the log will show that the 'own bank' does not exist in the bank selection.
I hope this issue is clear
Regards

• Outgoing cheque payment through FPY1

Hi Experts,
When i tried to post the outgoing cheque payment through FPY1, system posted the entry. But it was not generating the cheque. My doubt is how can we generate the cheque in FICA. If it is not in FICA then it will be in FI-AP. Can anyone please guide me how to do cheque print out when we make payment to ISU customer.
kindly let me know the config steps for cheque generation in FICA.
Also, is there any payment medium file in FICA. If, so how can u guide me the step that.
Thanks for your all support.
Regards,
RAM.

Hello,
You need to configure the below steps
1. Settings for check creation
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Settings for Check creation
Here you have to attach the cheque application form
Application form <T-Code EFRM> for Cheque printing provided by SAP is ‘FI_CA_DME_CHECK_SAMPLE’. This has 20 characters. But in FPY1 <for refunds>, for cheque printing, only 16 characters are allowed. So FI_CA_DME_CHECK_SAMPLE has to be copied into Z_UFI_****<shud be <=16 chars>.
2. Define Void Reason codes
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Define Void Reasons for Checks
3. Define Bank clearing accounts for encashment of out going checks
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Define Bank clearing account for en-cashment of outgoing checks
<posting area 1037>
4. Define Expense and Revenue accounts for Posting cashed Outgoing checks
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Expense and Revenue accounts for Posting cashed Outgoing checks
5. Define cheque clearing for outgoing cheques
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Define Check clearing account for outgoing checks
6.Define Specifications for clarification of cashed checks
IMG\ FICA\ Basic Functions \ Check Management \ Define Specifications for clarification of cashed checks
7. Define Cheque numbers <T-Code FQP6A>
8. Define payment methods <FQP1>. You attach format CHECK to the payment method under FORMAT.
9. Also Define Specifications for paying company code<FQP4>
10.Also define accounts for payment program <FQC0: Posting area 1061>
11.Maintain bank selection
12.Now create a variant in FPY1.Go to environment  payment medium.Create ‘Variant’ and attach payment medium. you attach CHECK in payment medium format in under output control you attach the form you copied in step 1 above. Save and comeback
Payment run for cheque
13. Now you make sure that your document is being paid by running in simulation mode.
14. Now run FPY1 in real mode.. You can see the check only when you run in real mode
15. Go to SP01 to see the spool of your cheque. You can view the physical cheque there.
Hope this helps!!!!!

• Payment run (FPY1) and Dunning proposal Run (FPVA) not gettting executed

Dear All IS-U genius people,
When i am running the FPY1(payment run) and FPVA (Dunning proposal Run), i am getting following error:
C Interval from 0000000021 to ZZZZZZZZZZ MAHN20070712TST14 (in dunning run)
and
C Interval from 0000000021 to ZZZZZZZZZZ PAYP20070710TST01 (in Payment run)
I have seen that the Mass number ranges are there and properly assigned to the Document types.
Please help me to solve this error.
Regards,

Hello,
perhaps, I don't exactly understand, where the error is. The message
C Interval from 0000000021 to ZZZZZZZZZZ MAHN20070712TST14
is normally just an information message to tell you what range of business partners is processed. A mass activity always uses ALL possible numbers to build the intervals. During the run, the intervals are adjusted to existing values, as I described before -> the limits of this intervals are written to application log. But it is nomally not the range of really processed objects. If you have the possibility to restrict the selection of business partners (see FPY1, first tabstrip), then this selection is mixed up with built intervals (see function module FKK_DI_INTERVAL_INTERSECTION). Only the objects, that are in your selection are processed within a given interval.
Do you have a selection for business partners e.g. on the first tabstrip of FPY1? Are not all business partners processed you want to be processed?

• Issue with Payment Run (FPY1)

Hi Gurus, need you help. I am getting the following message when executing the FPY1. Exceptions 1 Message no. MASSACT101 Diagnosis Counter Exceptions has value 1. For a more precise description of counter Click Here. Counter in Payment Program: Items with Exception Indicator Definition Number of items that cannot be paid and that have been placed in the list of payment exceptions. Each payment exception is classified using the item indicator (data element POKEN_PAY). For each item indicator, you can define whether these exceptions are to be included in the clarification worklist of the payment run.

Hi Aravind
Payments which cannot be made through FPY1 are caught in the exceptions. You can view the exception list by checking on the excpetion checkbox. Each exception corresponds to an item indicator (POKEN_PAY). Check for what item indicator, you are getting an exception. The solution is based on the type of exception.

I would like to lock a debit item for automatic clearing but let it be paid via FPY1.
When trying to lock it using the posting lock it can't be paid via FPY1.
What can I do ?

Hi ,
In
CA/A/r a/p--basic function--open item management --clearing control--define specification for clearing types --define defaults for account maintenance
click on the clearing type (03,04) and go to selection criteria define for clearing category and the concerned main/sub , tick the NC column , this will exclude the particular main sub from clearing .

• FPY1 - Approval of Payment Run for Refunds

Hi everyone!,
We would like to be able to approve an entire Payment Run (FPY1) for refunds before creating the Payment Medium (DME).
We already know that the approval for a refund processed through the transaction FPY1 can be done Individually by document/s with a workflow. However, is there any other workflow that could be used for approving an entire Payment Run?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks Bill for your quick response,
Unfortunately, simulation in this case couldn’t work because it’s not really a proposal, and the total amount could change when the payment run is executed in real mode.

• FPY1 ignoring incoming payment lock

Hi Experts,
We are facing strange issue
When account has active incoming payment lock and customer is on direct debit. Expectation is system should not post direct debit payments (through FPY1), but it is posting.
Any idea why this could be happening?
Thanks,
Suhas.

Hi Suhas,
Please check the lock validity details from data and to date and also check with due date of the charges. Say system date is 04/28/2015, you have charges with due date 04/01/2015 and the lock validity is from 04/15/2015 to 04/28/2015, in the FPY1 parameter if you are considering payments due until 04/29/2015 then the payment will get drafted even though there is a lock until 04/28/2015.
thanks,

• Can FI-CAx be used for making outgoing payments to business partners

Hi All,
Can we use the installment plan in FI-CA for the outgoing payments to business partners. Our company has lot of lease contracts and these contracts have payments due to be paid on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis. All these lease contracts are managed in SAP Real estate Flexible objects. We want to use FI-CAx for making payments to these contracts and hence we are looking for integration between FI-CA and RE-flexible objects.
From what I heard FI-CA is a receivables module and is not best suited for payables, so please let me know if we can use the outgoing payment plan and installment plan in FI-CA for making payments to business partners.
This is a bottleneck in our implementation. So please help me asap.
Thanks in advance. Points will be awarded to all the useful solutions.
Santosh

Hi Santhosh,
FYI my answers below
Can we use the instalment plan in FI-CA for the outgoing payments to business partners.
u2022I would say Yeah. ofcourse there is a way to do it provided you have created existing OI in Real estate in FI-CAX. This is because, weu2019d Refund money to the customer. In the same token I do not see any problem in paying monies to them!!!!
u2022You need to create your RE-FX contracts unto FICA as Contract Accounts <1:1 ratio>.
Our company has lot of lease contracts and these contracts have payments due to be paid on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis. All these lease contracts are managed in SAP Real estate Flexible objects. We want to use FI-CAx for making payments to these contracts and hence we are looking for integration between FI-CA and RE-flexible objects.
u2022Assuming that you have your RE-Fx data unto FICA, next step is to configure Instalment plans < monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual >.
u2022Next you create Instalment plans for the contract accounts <FICA> as required.
u2022Now, if you want to pay the amount, you need to attach outgoing payment method in Contract Account, Configure your Payment program.
u2022Now run your Payment Run <FPY1 =4.72; FPYS = ECC>.
u2022All the OI would be cleared. If you want to send the file to the bank, you can do so or you can also issue cheques.
From what I heard FI-CA is a receivables module and is not best suited for payables, so please let me know if we can use the outgoing payment plan and instalment plan in FI-CA for making payments to business partners.
u2022Look above.
OI = Open Item
Other points you need to consider:
1. Are the amounts in RE-FX consistent <equal through out the installment plans>?
2. Do you want to create separate Installment plans in FICA?
3. If yes, above should be helpful.
4. If not, identify an Interface between RE-FX and FICA.
5. What are your plans to close the Contracts in RE-FX once all the Installment plans are being paid in FICA?
6. Do you want to establish an Interface between RE-FX and FICA so that data would be transferred bt them automatically?
7.Is point no 6 one way or 2 ways <i.e RE-FX to FICA and vice versa>
8. What is the volume and frequency?
9.Other points if any
Does this helps?

• Issues with payment run

Hi All,
I am facing with a issue with payment run FPY1. Some of the customers are refunded the amount which is not supposed to be refunded to them. When i check the Contract account level and document level, at both level there is no outgoing payment method set. Is there any other way by which payment run would pick up the amount and refund it back to custmer.
Kindly share your thoughts.
Regards,
Rahul

Do you have a third level of master data? In certain FI-CA systems there is a lower level of master data (i.e. contract, insurance object). A payment method can also be set at this level.

• FM after the Payment run is executed

Hello All,
Please can anyone let me know, which event can be used for follow up activity after the payment run (FPY1) is executed.
Regards
Charvi
Edited by: CharviS on Jan 23, 2012 8:39 AM

Hi Charvi,
If your only requirement to post a Dr\Cr line item to customer account whose payment run has been successful, then you can use event 0032.
Event 0032 can create additional line items for a document in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable.
So, if you only want to post the incentive after a payment run, place a check initially for the origin key (i_fkkko-herkf), if i_fkkko-herkf =06, i.e a payment run, then only proceed with the posting of the Dr\Cr line item.
You can use FM FKK_COMPLETE_CHARGE_DOCUMENT for the purpose.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Amlan

• Creating Distribution Lots from the Payment Advice Note

Hi Experts,
Please let me know whether its possible (in distributor's system) to create Paymen advice note at the time of payment run to clear supplier's aggregate invoice, which can be used later to create distibution lot to clear individual invoices of the end customer.
My objective is to find a solution through standard cinfiguration to clear individual invoices also when a aggregated invoice is cleared using payment run (FPY1).
Also suggest if the note provided in the link below refer to configuration to be done in distributior's system
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_util472/helpdata/en/da/45791c41ec45dcb2fc42039704ead9/content.htm
Thanks & Regards
Satyajeet Ghosh

Payment advice note is to be sent by the supplier (payer). It can be sent in by Idoc or you can enter it manually through INVADVMON01.
Are you running FPY1 because you have a direct debit agreement with your supplier?
If so you could choose to create the distribution lot from bill processing. Transaction IUEEDPPLOTAALC2 should then be used.
The link you refer to is configuration for the distributor's system.

• Possibility of grouping open items per business partner during FPY1

Hello all,
In my test case, I have a business partner that is connected to two contract accounts.
On each connection I have two open items, so four in total.
When executing the payment program (FPY1), I would like to group the open items per business partner into 1 payment that goes to the bank.
Can you tell me whether this is possible and, if so, how to implement it?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
If I've got you right, there are several open items posted on different Contract Accounts. Let's assume a simple case. There are two Contract Account Relationships to one and the same Business Partner:
CA1-BP1 and CA2-BP1. BP1 is the holder of CA1 and CA2. In parallel BP1 is the only premium payer. There is no further Business Partner involved.
Additionally there are two Insurance Objects with relationships - each - to one and the same Business Partner: IO1-BP1 and IO2-BP1.
The first Insurance-Object-Relationship IO1-BP1 is assigned to CA1, and the second Insurance-Object-Relationship IO2-BP1 is assigned to CA2.
In FS-CD standard it's possible to group and summarize several open items on Business Partner level within a Payment Run (FPY1) cross different Contract Accounts. Therefore follwoing master data is required:
IO1-BP1: “IO: Settings Active for Contract Account” is set active
IO2-BP1: “IO: Settings Active for Contract Account” is set active
Master data in CA1-BP1
Incoming Payment Method "1" (example for Direct Debit)
Bank Details ID for Incoming Payment Method "0001" (example for 1st Bank Account of BP1)
Master data in CA2-BP1
Paid By [in 'Payment Data (General)']: "CA1" (means the number of Contract Account CA1, as Contract account used for payment transactions)
The challange is to populate initially or change these attributes from an external system properly, for instance from a Policy Management system, a Claims Management system, or an Incentive & Commission Management system. In many cases they have neither an understanding of the concept "Contract Account", nor capabilities to adjust or maintain FS-CD master data. Thus, it could be efficient to build specific UIs dedicated to such scenarios - intended to set the attributes properly.
If, and only if a payment aggregation, consoldiation or summarization is required regularly cross different Contract Accounts <without using FS-CD transfer postings and without using FS-CD Broker Collection>, it can be wise to create a dedicated Contract Account with relationship to the Payer (or Payee) as the relevant Business Partner for incoming or outgoing payments - initiated by the insurer.
It's a special ContractAccount-BusinessPartner-Relationship CAx-BPy that just holds the payment method and bank details ID as master data. This Business Partner is acting as Payer in Payment Transactions. If, and only if this Business Partner "BPy" differs from the relevant Business Partner "BP1" that is linked to the Contract Account, and is also the relevant Partner within the posted open items, than Partner "BPy" is the alternative business partner to the contract partner; used for clearing and paying the items of the contract account. Overall that's a powerful workaround for payment aggregation, consoldiation or summarization cross different Contract Account, even the Business Partner "BPy" is a different one. Under this precondition one has to feed the two fields
Payer [in 'Payment Data (General)'] with BPy
Paid By [in 'Payment Data (General)'] with CAx
In addition: within all subordinated InsuranceObject-BusinessPartner-Relationship master data the flag “IO: Settings Active for Contract Account” has to be set active. Therefore the InsuranceObject-BusinessPartner-Relationship master data doesn't control payments anymore, but the ContractAccount-BusinessPartner-Relationship master data.
Please test and let me know.
Best regards,
Jochem
