PayPal on iTunes?

Tried to purchase an app. Error message popped up, saying Payment method 'PayPal' is not supported.... I have a card linked to my account, NOT PAYPAL. Card does not show on my device. Just the iTunes website. Confused.

What iTunes website are you viewing your payment details on (the Apple online store, not your iTunes account ?) ?
As far as I know you can only view/chage youy payment details on your account via your computer's iTunes by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account (on your account's details page there should be a payment link), and on an iOS device by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (or at the bottom of the Featuered tab on the App Store app, or Music tab in the iTunes store app) and tapingp on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account (that should also give you a payments link on your account's page). Paypal can only be viewed/changed on a computer's iTunes.

  • Problems with Paypal option- iTunes Crashes!

I originally experienced similar problem as others with activating paypal, getting a confim #, and then nothing. I was using Mozilla.
Then I got a new computer, new versin of iTunes 5.0.1 and whenever I clicked on the link below the Paypal option to activate paypal account iTunes just crashes completely! This happens regardless of browser IE, or Mozilla. Anybody heard of this? Any ideas?

I hope iTMS gets you answer! And I meant to say iTunes Music Card, not gift certificate.

A credit card is not required to purchase music using an iTunes Music Card. Learn more in this article.

Scroll down, the part at the end says after you enter the music store card info,

  • How can I put paypal to itunes

Hi, I am just wandering how to connect Paypal to iTunes since I want to but some thing.
    Can someone please help me??

Whether you can link to your PayPal account depends upon what country that you are in - I know that it's available for US iTunes account holders, but I'm not sure what other countries that it is. If you log into your account via the Store > View My Apple ID menu option on your computer's iTunes or by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) on your iPad then does  PayPal appear as an option ?

  • Why can't I use Paypal for iTunes in The Netherlands?

For some time now I have been trying to complete my account so I can finally make purchases from the iTunes store. Today I tried again hoping that there would finally be a payment option besides credit cards. I was delighted to see the paypal option. I went through all the steps but eventually got an error message saying that iTunes needs a US based paypal account. Turns out I was in the US iTunes store when I tried to create my account. When I switched to the Dutch store there was no paypal option, only credit cards. Why the H can't I use paypal in the Dutch iTunes store when US citizens can choose PP? And if the PP option is in the works for The Netherlands, when will it be available?

Sorry, but Paypal is not available as a purchase option in the Netherlands nor, to the best of my knowledge, anywhere other than the US. Why this is, no one here knows or can say.

  • How do I set up PayPal in iTunes 10?

    Hi everyone.
I've tried setting up PayPal as my form of billing on iTunes 10, but every time I do, it redirects me to a page where I must fill out a debit or credit card's credentials. Is it even possible to do, or am I just missing something?
    Thanks.

  • Using PayPal in itunes w/Mac

Recently had a new credit card entered in our PayPal acct and another one removed. When I try to purchase a song, I get an error message that says "please provide valid pmt info" or "your PayPal acct has no funding source", when I know my PayPal acct shows my newly entered credit card is shown to be the primary source of payment for my PayPal acct. How do I get itunes to accept my PayPal? Thanks much for any help provided!

Wow, first time I've seen this question. You are breaking new ground.
From the discussion I can see on the Dropbox Forums, there are people using it for iTunes backup, but no success using it as a source for streaming music. Take a look at this thread, for example.
Somebody else here may know more, but also you may want to post a very specific question on the Dropbox Forum.

  • Cannot link Paypal to itunes account

Was using v11 iTunes, no previous probs purchasing tunes, wanted to add paypal for credit info and then the problems began. I complete the billing agreement with paypal, cl to continue to iTunes store. Then directed to download iTunes. I initially skip this step, as I wasn't ready to upgrade to v12. But I am just continually looped and unable to purchase my tune. I check my paypal acct, the billing agreement is there and active. I then decide to upgrade to v12 but the except thing is occurring. Please help, this is so freaking frustrating.

    Hello Taralynn7,
It sounds like you want to use your PayPal account as your payment method for purchasing items in iTunes. To set this up, you will need to update your billing information in the iTunes Store on a computer.  When updating your billing settings in iTunes on a computer, you should see PayPal as a payment option:
Changing your account information using a computer:
    Open iTunes.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password, then click the Sign In button.
Choose Store > View My Account.
Enter your account password, and click the View Account button.
To update your name, billing address, or payment information, follow these instructions:
From the Apple Account Information page, click the Edit Payment Information button.
Edit the information that you would like to change.Note: The payment methods that the iTunes Store accepts can be found in the payment type section. If you do not want a payment method on your account, select None in the payment type section.
Click the Done button once you've updated all of your information.

  • HT5552 Using PayPal for iTunes/App Store

I try to select PayPal as my payment option for iTunes/App Store, but when I select the PayPal icon and click the "continue" button, as directed, nothing happens.  Why can I not select PayPal?  All of my payment information is stored in PayPal, and I would like to keep it that way.

    Thanks for the pointer Lesnes.
Unfortunately I am unable to create an itunes account as part of the process for doing so asks for my bank or cc details which I am not happy to provide.
I received an email from Apple support last night with the following link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
The link does not take into account that I already have an apple ID so instead of being able to follow all the steps I get asked to log in and review and this goes to a page requesting billing info with no 'None' or Paypal options.

  • Using Paypal with Itunes Store

Ok, I have a paypal account. However, I just use it with my bank account and do not have a credit card on file.
What I want to do is register my paypal account with my itunes account and use my paypal balance to purchase songs.
However, everytime I click the paypal option on my account preferences, it takes me to my paypal account in which I must register a credit card - which I don't have.
I would prefer to use my paypal balance to purchase songs anytime I don't have a balance from an itunes card.
Is there any way that I can use a paypal balance to purchase songs from itunes? Thank you.
    Windows XP

Never mind, I'm answering my own question. I should have searched for it first.
Found it on an itunes support page.
Do I need a credit card to pay for music using PayPal?
A credit card is not required. However, if you do not wish to add a credit card, you must add a debit card or add and confirm a bank account before you can send money with your PayPal account. Learn more about adding funding sources.
So with no plastic to even register, I guess I can't even use paypal.

  • Why can't I authorize paypal for iTunes store with american express

Can not make a payment using paypal after canceling the agreement in paypal by accident. iTunes is not allowing me to create a new agreement with paypal and giving me this error message when I try: You may not use American Express to fund this payment. Please add a different type of card or use a bank account."!!!
There is a balance in the paypal account, and as I understand it the problem is that Apple (iTunes) does not want to create the agreement while the backup to the backup funding method is American Express!!! PLEASE HELP ME PAY YOU.

Sorry, but Paypal is not available as a purchase option in the Netherlands nor, to the best of my knowledge, anywhere other than the US. Why this is, no one here knows or can say.

  • Paypal and iTunes issue?

Hello. I recently got an iPod Touch. Anyway, in the App Store, I went to buy BTD4 for $2.99. It said they were having issues. So I went into iTunes to try and buy it, and right before I did, it said that they would charge my default payment method. Mine is Paypal, and I only have 59 cents in it. I did NOT click buy now, but I'm still worried that they might charge Paypal and charge a fee in addition. Will it do this? It is not in my iTunes store history, or my Paypal history, and the button on both the app store and iTunes still say "buy now". Should I be worried and scramble to add funds to Paypal?

Typically speaking paypal will automatically debit(charge) your default billing method the difference.  So in your case you have $0.59 in paypal and want to spend $2.99.  So your default billing method will be automatically billed (you set this up when you created the billing agreement with itunes/paypal) $2.40.  Now you should make sure that your billing method (IE a checking/savings account, credit/debit card) had available funds, but it should go through in a couple of days on its own.

  • Use Paypal with iTunes? Problems?

I am trying to use Paypal to purchase music in iTunes. On the credit card page, I click paypal and then click the validate paypal account and validate my account. But then after I validate, the link in itunes does not change. How do I fix this? Thanks!
      Windows XP

Hey Katrina! Thanks! I read through that page that you gave me and it said:
"Note: If clicking the Return to Merchant link doesn’t allow you to complete the PayPal sign-up process in iTunes, please try following these steps again using a different web browser."
It didn't work in Firefox, I used good old Internet Explorer. Thanks for your help!

  • Connecting paypal to itunes

it keeps saying "This recipient requires that you have a valid funding source from United States in order to complete this transaction. "
i am in the united states and my paypal is also in USD's and my itunes is also in united states!! someone please help:((

You need to open iTunes first. Here are the instructions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1947
    1. Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
    2. Connect iPhone or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the local network that your Mac or PC is also connected to.
    3. Open the Remote application on your mobile device.
    4. Select Add Library in the Remote settings screen.
    5. Remote will display a 4 digit passcode. In iTunes select the name of your iPhone or iPod touch in the Devices list and enter the passcode. The name of the iPhone will have a remote symbol at the left.
When you select the iPhone, the main screen will show the passcode entry page.
    6. Remote will be paired with iTunes and you can begin browsing your library using Remote and select a piece of content to play.
If the device does not show up, go back to the phone and try again. I always have to try at least twice before my iTunes sees it

  • Paypal with iTunes in Canada

Is it possible to use paypal as billing in iTunes? I am sure there is a method in the US store, but I just happen to be in Canada. Is it possible?

Sorry but no, PayPal has not been set up as a payment method in Canada, nor any country other than the US to the best of my knowledge.

  • My itunes account payment method was updated to a new credit card. it wont let me buy anything because it says i have paypal and its not supported. i dont have paypal for itunes.

    hi

I don't know where you updated this information, but if you didn't do it directly on the iPad, try updating the card on the iPad itself.
Settings>iTunes & App Store. Tap on your Apple ID. Tap on View Apple ID. Enter your password. Tap on Pyme t Information. In the next window, make sure that the new credit card in showing and that all associated information is correct, check the billing address, the security code and the expiration date. Save any changes that you make.
Then try to make another purchase.
