After a couple failures to install, and a replacement disc that failed to install, I found, in the installation instructions, the line about removing all your peripherals.
So, I unplugged my printer, my external hard drives and my BamBoo pad, guess what. . .
A flawless installation, and after a few new software updates, I shut her down, plugged everything back in, it was all there. A beautiful thing.
Amazing stuff, those manual items.

Have you done this before ? And if so, is photo stream turned on on your iphone and ipad. and as Alfred DeRose pointed out they must both on the same icloud account.
If you're new to this, you might want to do some research. Photo stream is different from camera roll and albums. Many have been on this sight looking for their photos stored in icloud after restore, etc. and they're not there. Also, after thirty days icloud deletes your photos from photo stream.
So if you're not aware, you might want to google your question. We're using the camera connection kit soon and I am learning about it. From all I've read, I'm also not the biggest icloud fan. I use dropbox. We plan to put photos taken on ipad with a camera/iphones into albums on the ipad. We'll keep all on the sd card until (and after) they can be uploaded to a computer.

I am trying to import my bookmarks from IE and have read the instructions, but the Import button under File is grayed out and will not let me import. Any ideas?

* In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
* You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed

I read the instructions on reinstalling, it's not erasing HELP
I'm trying to erase everything on my macbook and reinstall the OS, i put in the cd and reinstalled it, hoping somewhere a pop up would show asking me if I want to archive or erase, and nothing showed and my old files are still there. In the instructions it says click Options in Select a Destination pane of the installer, then select Erase and Install, but that info's not there!
In the pull down menu of Utilites, it say Start-up disc, Reset password, Firmware Password Utility, Disk Utility, Terminal, System profiler, Network Utility or Restore system from backup, I just want to clean the **** thing, why is this so difficult??? Can anyone help please?I appreciate your help, I do thank you.
I get into a 'snit' because what you recommend is nowhere in the instructions, and what was in the instructions was nowhere where they said, I'm not that computer savvy and am VERY reluctant to start clicking on things I don't know about. I tied to follow the instructions and......basically got nowhere but upset about wasting an hour thinking I was cleaning my drive.
Maybe they should have said what you said!!!
I'm still hoping I did the right thing, I just erased the Macintosh HD, does that get rid of all all system preferences and restore to original? Will I still need to install the OS?

Shutdown your computer.
Disconnect all Thunderbolt devices.
Wait 10 seconds.
If you are using a Mac mini with a Thunderbolt display, reconnect the Thunderbolt display directly to your computer via the Thunderbolt port. Do not connect other Thunderbolt devices at this time.
Restart your computer.
If the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 is offered, download and install it and restart your computer when asked. If the Thunderbolt Update is not offered, the update has installed correctly.
Reconnect all Thunderbolt devices.

I use OS X 10.9.5. I have a trovi virus on Safari and Chrome. Yesterday I thought I had gotten rid of Trovi, but it's back on both my search engines. The directions Apple sent yesterday do not work; the copy function under the edit tab is grayed out and non-responsive. Can anyone help me to get rid of this virus? Thanks.

Either of the above options terminates Mozilla - neither option fixes the problem - however Mozilla works as long as the error message remains on the desktop.We cannot know. You are not offering any system information nor actually telling what program you use and what you do when the crash occurs.

I installed Labview 7.1 a few months ago on a new pc (windows xp) and kept getting this error message a number of times in the first few weeks (can't remember what I was doing when the message would come up).
Since yesterday, Labview kept crashing while I was working on a vi's block diagram (the vi was not running, I was just adding a wire or etc.). It would say "Labview has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" or something to that effect. I decided to uninstall and reinstall Labview again. As it was uninstalling, it gave me the old message again, i.e. "The instruction at "0x7c91..."".
So, just in case it starts giving me the same problem once it is installed again (which is doing it as I am typing this), I would like to know if anyone has ran into this problem and knows a bit more about it, and how to fix it...

Sorry for the late reply. I think I have narrowed down the problem today. It must have to do with the express vi "simulate an arbitrary signal". I had not used this vi in a long time (probably since about the last time I had this problem) until today. I dropped it on my program and loaded the .lvm file into it (10000 points); everything ok so far. Next, I dropped a second "simulate an arbitrary signal.vi" on the program and the problems started. The pointer of the mouse flickers very rapidly between "normal" and "busy", i.e. the arrow and the sand clock, and the page goes blank for a few seconds while the top says "not responding" and then it comes back again and this happens over and over again while I am just trying to edit the program. I closed the file on the desktop computer (LV 7.1, Windows XP (apparently with Vista also loaded)) and moved it to the laptop (LV 7.1 and LV 8.5 Student Edition, Windows XP) and had the same problem with both versions of Labview. The problem persisted until I deleted the "Simulate an aribtrary signal.vi". It happened again when I tried it again.
I have also tried the same with smaller files (i.e. 1000 and 5000 points) with same results. A lot of the times it gets hung up in the "Define Signal" window: it loads the file under "Data Points X Y" without a problem, but it does not recognize the "dx" (and hence the "Number of Points") under "Timing" correctly. When I change the "dx" manually, it does not update the "Number of Points". It seems to me like the problem stems from here.
This is the same behavior for LV 7.1 and LV 8.5 Student Edition. Perhaps the files I am loading are "too big", i.e. too many points???
