PB creation datafile greater than 2Gb

Why is it not possible to create a file greather than 2Gb on
oracle 7.3.4.0
and solaris 2.7???
I have created the same architecture on SCO openserver 5 and HPUX and it 's
working????
Could you help me please???

In "earlier days", filesystem were limited to a maximum file size of 2 GB. Today that limitation has almost gone away.
What filesystem do you use for those datafiles? Both, VxFS and UFS can handle bigger files. It seems to me, that you upgraded the database from an earlier version (might have been 7.x or 8.x) and for compatibility reason the upgrade put that limitation in your init 2 GB it´s safe to change that parameter and add a bigger sized file.

• Is there a correlation b/w Error -2048 and MPEG-4 files greater than 2GB?

I am having considerable difficulty in getting any of my DVD/movie files greater than 2GB to upload into my iTunes library. Anyone else having this difficulty? Through another problem, I discovered that iTunes ability to play video is based a thinned-down version of the Apple's QT engine, which prompted me to try and open these files using QT Pro; however, there too, I am getting a peculiar -2048 error suggesting it is not a movie file. The files were created using WONDERSHARE and I am experiencing difficulty with only the files that exceed 2GB in size.
For WONDERSHARE users, here are my relevant settings:
RESOLUTION: 720*400
CODEC: H.264
FPS: 30
KBPS: 2,000 or 2,500 (toggled in between both to manage file size for longer movies, like 3 hour Bollywood epics)
Any help on this matter woudl be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Jon,
Thanks for your response. I have inserted commentary below:
I am having
considerable difficulty in getting any of my
DVD/movie files greater than 2GB to upload into my
iTunes library.The 2 GB
restriction is usually on your source file -- the DVD
VOB -- or associated with Fat-32 file system. I have
H.264 files as large as 3.8 GB for SD content.
The file system is NTFS. I am not sure what you mean by DVD VOB.
I discovered that
iTunes ability to play video is based a thinned-down
version of the Apple's QT
engineiTunes can access the
entire QT structure. The iPod and TV players are
limited to a modest QT sub-set.
O.K. But, QT still cannot open the file. If the files are corrupt, how come they only become corrupt at 2+ GB.
however, there too, I
am getting a peculiar -2048 error suggesting it is
not a movie file.If issued by an
Apple application, this error code usually equates to
"noMovieFound" at the referenced location. This could
be a path error or refer to a movie interrupt during
conversion (as when your 2 GB plus source file
terminates prematurely) and the target file is not
closed properly (and is likely not recognized as a
valid QT file).
CODEC:
H.264In which profile?
Again, not sure what you mean by "profile."

• Temp files greater than 2GB

While running an OBIEE report, I receive the following error:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46073] Operation 'stat()' on file '/u02/OracleBIData/tmp/nQS_28056_15671_77250638.TMP' failed with error: (75) . (HY000)
The problem seems to be that the TEMP file created by the query is greater than 2 GB.
Is there a way within OBIEE to bypass the 2 GB file size limitation of 32-bit servers (Windows/LINUX)?

John - I don't understand how this is a cache issue. The file being created is a TEMP file in the /OracleBI_Data/tmp directory. What is the relationship between the TEMP directory and cache?
My DATA_STORAGE_PATHS is currently set at 4 GB.
By the way, I have spent a lot of time reading your OBIEE blog, and have found it to be extremely helpful.

• Gcore greater than 2Gb

Hi,
Couldn't find any better forum for a gcore problem I am experiencing on a sprarc machine.
It has 4GB memory. the gcore of a process with more than 2GB memory give ths following error
dumpcore(): write: File too large
The size of the file is 2147483647 = 0x7fffffff
So, it seems to be some 2GB problem.
Looked around in newsgroups if it is reported. There is some discussion which implies that the limit
exists for 32bit kernels.
$ isainfo -kv
64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules
$ uname -a
SunOS xxxxx 5.8 Generic_108528-18 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
$ ulimit
unlimited
A few questions -
1. Isn't gcore application 64bit aware, especially on this 64 bit kernel?
2. Will setting largefile option on the filesystem, alleviate this 2Gb limitation?
(I don't want to test it myself on the customer machine and i dont have another sparc handy).
3. Should it also work for gcore on 32 bit kernel?
4. Any other ways of getting gcore of processes more than 2 Gb.
Thanks
Pari

Did you try with solaris8 gcore patch: 114988-02?

• Schedule line getting confirmed when Ordered Quanity is greater than stock.

Hi Sap Gurus,
We have an issue in one of the sales scenario.
In one of the sales orders the ordered quanity is purposely maintained greater than the stock at respective storage location(batch managed).
In this case the schedule line should not get confirmed and it should not allow delivery document creation.
But in the sales order the schedule lines are geeting confirmed and even the delivery document is getting created with picking request completion.
Could you please help to understand :
1. why the schedule lines are getting confirmed when ordered quantity > Inventory?
2. How do I stop delivery document creaton in this scenario?
Looking for a quick response.
Thanks in advance,

Hello Bhaskar,
Is Availability Check in your system considering Replenishment Lead time, if yes, then this is possible.
Check this IMG Link:
IMG - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements - Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning - Carry Out Control For Availability Check
Here check the RLT settings.
Also check settings under In/Outward Movements, where things like include Purchase Order can lead to confirmation of stock in Sales Order, despite physical inventory being present.
Hope this helps,

• Adding more than 2Gb RAM to MacBook Pro

Do you guys know of any way to put more than 2Gb RAM in an Intel 17" MacBook Pro?
Model Name: MacBook Pro 17"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,2
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP12.0061.B03
SMC Version: 1.5f10
I bought this when the 17" models first came out, and have been disappointed in it ever since (I broke my rule of NOT buying the first generation of something). As time has passed, the main problem is the 2Gb limit for RAM. That's NOWHERE near enough, and shame on Apple for that limitation. If there were some way, even a non-standard way, of adding more RAM, I could get reasonable performance from this computer. As it is, this has been a wasted $3600 investment. whew!
Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! Feel free to email bruce at dbsdesigngroup.com

That's possible...actually likely. I'd love for that to be the case because I could fix it. ::Grin:: It's been this way since I first got it. When it arrived with just 1 Gb RAM, it was virtually unusable. I have a few apps as startup items, but they're just Firefox, Entourage, iNotepad, Linotype Font Explorer (with very few fonts activated), and Stickies. That shouldn't affect things much.
My needs are to use Photoshop, Illustrator and GoLive at the same time, with MSWord, Firefox and Entourage open as well. After the first bit of usage, I end up with 4-6 pageouts and a VERY slow computer. While it's doing the pageouts (which take quite a while), or switching between apps, it's very slow. And it's also extremly slow when Spotlight is indexing, so I disabled that.
I'm just not sure what it might be...nothing in Activity Monitor seems like it would be a culprit. Even in Safe Mode the problem is very evident.
I'll keep exploring and hopefully find something that will make this machine more viable for my use. I really appreciate the input greatly.

• Create tablespace whose name length is greater than 50 ?

Can i create tablespace in oracle 10g whose name length is greater than 50 characters ?

Name tablespaces descriptively using a maximum of eight characters. Although Oracle Database tablespace names can be 30 characters long, portable UNIX filenames are restricted to 14 characters. The recommended standard for a datafile basename is tn.dbf, where t is a descriptive tablespace name and n is a two-digit string. Because the extension and the two-digit string take six characters, only eight characters remain for the tablespace name.

• Final Cut X 10.0.4 - cannot share a movie greater than 15 mins to youtube

So I just updated to 10.0.4 this morning. Open an existing project that is roughly 19 minutes long, which by the way I previously published to my YouTube account with no problem at all. Now Final Cut will not allow me to publish the video. I get an error in the bottom left corner of the screen that reads: "Publishing movies greater than 15 minutes may fail". The "next" button is grayed out. But when I open a project that is only 7 minutes long, it does allow me to share. Has anyone ran into this problem?

FCPX "shares" to YouTube at best resolution... I think... (very high quality at least.)
You may have an account that will allow > 15 minutes of video, but I'll bet there is a file size limit on that as well; somewhere around 2GB. YouTube will reject any file that is larger than allowed, regardless of how long the video takes to play.
You didn't specify the format of your project, but for 1080, FCPX will output H.264 @ ~ 15-18Mbps. A 12 minute 1080 project is dangerously close to the 2GB limit. Switching to 720 will cut the output file size to almost 1/2 of 1080.
Currently, there is no way to specify the bitrate in FCPX. You can check FCPX's estimated output file size on the Summary pane of the Share dialog.
Since you're not getting the "Next" button, then your login is incomplete or incorrect. You must specify your YouTube username/account name, your password, a Description (required) and tags (also required.)

• How to use (greater than) in web services call

Hello, I am trying to query a set of assets where the external unique ID is greater than 400,000. My existing code looks like
qryIn.ListOfAsset(0).ExternalSystemId = ">'400000'"
However, using this will return any asset record starting with a 5 or above as far as I can tell, I assume b/c it is comparing string data due to the single quotes infering data of type text (string). Is it possible to use comparison operators with numeric data correctly?
I posed this question to support and received the below answer:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <soap:Body> <AssetWS_AssetQueryPage_Input xmlns="urn:crmondemand/ws/asset/"> <ListOfAsset xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/asset"> <Asset> <AssetId /> <PurchaseDate/> <OwnerAccountId /> <ExternalSystemId>> '400000'</ExternalSystemId> </Asset> </ListOfAsset> </AssetWS_AssetQueryPage_Input> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope>
Basically, instructing me to use &gt. I'm doing coding in .NET visual studio and not using the XML as above. However, I did try the following:
qryIn.ListOfAsset(0).ExternalSystemId = ">'400000'" which returned an error in the compiler.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I would assume "external system id" is an integer, but, I will test on a custom field that I now is of type integer.
Could you take your same code and use a non-zero value for the operand? For example, could you try
objAccQryParam.ListOfAccount[0].CustomInteger0 = ">= '10'"; and let me know if that returns values that are greater than or equal to 10. Using a two digit number is important. Assuming you have data greater than 10.
Thanks!

We have had no reports of search issues from our users and have been unable to duplicate any impairment in our testing.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for tests to check or steps to take on this alert? Is it simply a false alarm or a timeout of other sorts during testing? We have 80 DAGs on this server (as well as all our servers, some of which have also reported the
same alert) and the Test-ExchangeSearch command times out before completely testing all DAGs.
