PB used to sleep, now it won't

My PB used to abide by the System Preference energy settings I would set, but for about 7-10 days now, it doesn't.
It will sleep if I manually put it to sleep through the Finder. And it will sleep if I shut the lid.
But if I leave it alone, it just stays awake. The display will sleep, but not the hard disk. I hadn't adjusted the System Prefs at all when it started doing this. It does it:
- whether it's plugged in (AC) or on battery
- whether there are open apps or no apps at all
- whether peripherals are plugged in or not
Any ideas???

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Is your printer connected to a wireless network with Internet access?
Do other web services work on the printer? Meaning, can you use ePrint or the Printables on the front panel? (printables = apps on the printer like Disney, Menu Planner, Quick Forms, and so on.)

It could be because you have Firefox set to not remember any history. Did you do that intentionally? It is set in the Options dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
Perhaps it would work if you choose "Use custom settings for history" and just turn off the specific things you want to turn off.

I am so frustrated I could spit.. I have been experiencing issues for 1 week now and am unable to use my iphone. It started by shutting down every time I'd try to use it and now it won't turn on. When I plugged it in the charger apple flashes .

i have been unable to use my iphone for going on a week. It started by shutting down when ever I'd try to use it. Now it has just a dead black screen. If i plug it in it doesn't charge And the flashing apple continues every 2seconds never charging or turning on. I'm frustrated because I can't even get in to troubleshoot. I bought an iphone cuz I thought it was the best phone at the time. My contract isn't up til Aug. and I'm stuck with a bill and no phone. I do not own a computer but I have an ipad4 which I love. HELP!

Make an appointment at the genius bar are your nearest Apple store. At this point there is nothing you can do without a computer, so if you don't have one and don't know anyone who has one that you can use the Apple store is a good fallback.

I just updated iTunes so I can use airplay and now it won't open

I am trying to use airplay with my apple tv. I updated both this morning and now itunes crashes as soon as it opens. Is anyone else experiencing this?

You could unplug your router than plug it back in. You could turn the iPhone completely off and then back on.

I put my ipod 5th Gen to sleep, now it won't wake up??

So, this is the second time that this has happened. I press the power button on the top and put my iPod to sleep but it doesn't make the lock sound (I have it set to) and when I try to bring it back up, it doesn't do anything. The screen stays black. I've tried the home button and plugging the iPod into the charger and the power button and holding down the power button but nothing works. Is there something wrong with my iPod or is this just something that I'm doing myself?

My kids were using ipad1 and now screen won't rotate. How do I reset this feature?

I have tried to reset screen function. The screen only displays in landscape with the power button/charger plug at left of screen. The screen will not rotate when the device is turned to accomodate portrait or landscape in the other direction. Thank you.

I Have been using FF but now it won't open.

I can no longer open Firefox. I have tried the following solutions with no luck:
I tried to uninstall Firefox so I can reinstall FF and I got this message:
"FF must be closed to proceed with the uninstall"
"Please close FF to continue"
I tried to download a new FF install. When I got to the Mozilla setup wizard and chose standard install I got this message:
"FF must be closed to proceed with the installation"
"Please close FF to continue"
I have also gone into task manager and closed the open FF processes and restarted the computer. I still could not open FF.
I have also tried opening the profile folder and deleting the "parent.lock" file, per a previous suggestion I received.
I need help.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps to uninstall Firefox.
You can also remove the Firefox program folder manually on disk.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

Do you have enough funds in your bank account?
otherwise iTunes sometimes black lists card if there are too many fradulent purchases
Reason why they might black list a card is possibly you call in for alot of fradulent purchases
One more reason can be because iTunes does actually limit the amount you can change payment methods

I ended up putting it in DFU mode. It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w. I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,it takes forever to back up my iPad AND my iPod so what can I do ?

If you're on windows try the following:
This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
7. Good luck
